Best Restaurants in Roswell, Georgia | Eater Atlanta

"With its roaring fire pit, full-service outdoor bar, and twinkling Italian light-covered patio, this aptly named new American restaurant on Canton Street’s north end is the perfect spot to soak up star-filled Georgia nights. Snack on international small plates with a Southern twist like gooey smoked gouda fritters served with a sweet and tangy pepper jelly before digging into mouthwatering mains like honey panko salmon over creamy Parmesan lemon risotto or a hearty sweet and spicy Korean barbecue short rib. A simple yet sufficient wine list and a selection of classic cocktails pair beautifully with the flavorful plates, while live music during the summer months and fall football screened on large outdoor TVs keep the vibe lively and low-key." - Sarah Bisacca

10 Spots to Sip a Perfectly-Crafted Old Fashioned Outside the Atlanta Perimeter | Eater

"The Old Fashioned gets a fruity twist at this downtown Roswell restaurant. The cocktail, dubbed the North x End Old Fashioned, is a combination of bourbon, house-made orange simple syrup, and cherry bitters, and is served with a spiked cherry. Order it with Elijah Craig Small Batch, and enjoy it during a sunny fall day on their expansive outdoor patio. When it comes to food, the North End Bistro Chicken (with Boursin mashed potatoes and a bistro salad) is a standout as is the portobello and eggplant sandwich served on ciabatta." - Vox Creative

We had a superb experience at North End. The staff was friendly and attentive, the food was incredible, and the vibe was on point. We were seated next to the fire pit outdoors on a clear and starry night and the ambiance was lovely. The patio was filled with guests who chatted with servers and management like old friends. We were visited by management and the chef and each of them Wanted our first visit to be perfect. The vitality in their collective spirit of hospitality and impeccable service made the experience even more welcome. They are doing something special there. The menu has great variety! We had friend green tomatoes which were some of the best I’ve ever had. We shared a pear salad with Gorgonzola cheese and it had so much flavor and balance. My dining partner had the best burger they e ever tasted-and we’ve had some burgers. My fish tacos were the stuff of dreams! I opted for the fried fish and the batter was so tasty and the fish pieces large and meaty-I crave them still. The flourless chocolate cake was a work of art. The cocktails were delicious. Such an impressive meal. We will be back.

Our service was quick and pleasant. All of the food we ordered was fantastic! We came here for a birthday celebration, their service made it extra special!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what truly made our evening unforgettable was the incredible service, especially from Natalia at the bar. She’s not just a bartender.she’s a master of her craft. Her cocktail recommendations were spot-on, and each drink was balanced, creative, and beautifully presented. You can tell she genuinely cares about making each guest feel welcome and appreciated. The food was equally impressive, flavorful, fresh, and perfectly paced between courses. Pairing the dishes with Natalia’s handcrafted cocktails took the experience to another level. Whether you’re here for a full meal or just a drink at the bar, I can’t recommend this place enough. Ask for Natalia—you won’t be disappointed!

Google
My family loves coming here for birthdays and celebrations. The staff is great, the atmosphere is lively and fun. The food is always fantastic. We got the calamari, the charcuterie plate, and the Gouda fritters with pepper jelly to start. All are delicious and have nice portions. I got the Korean BBQ short rib for dinner. The portion was huge and the flavors were incredible. My dad is friends with the chef and so we got the key lime pie, the cookie pie and chocolate cake on the house for a birthday, all of which were delicious. Drinks kept coming and the pace of service is amazing. We love this place and will continue to come!

Google
I cannot say enough good things about my experience—thanks entirely to Natalia, who is hands down the best bartender I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, she made us feel welcome with her warm smile and engaging personality. Natalia has an incredible talent for mixing drinks. Every cocktail she made was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. You can tell she knows her craft inside and out. She’s truly in a league of her own!

Google
A true charming neighborhood gem that exceeded all expectations for my family of 9 (age ranging from 3 to 85)! The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and genuine without being intrusive. Our server made thoughtful recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food was nothing short of exceptional. You could tell that great care was taken in both the preparation and the quality of the ingredients. What made the evening even more special was the personal touch added by the chef, who came out to introduce himself and check in with each table. All in all, this restaurant offers not just a great meal, but a welcoming, memorable dining experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s absolutely worth a visit.

Google
While in the area, we decided to stop in for appetizers and drinks. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable, and provided some great suggestions for food and drinks. We tried the Canton Street Charcuterie, the Smoked Gouda Fritters, and the Smokehouse Sliders. Our favorite was definitely the sliders! If you're looking for a laid-back environment to enjoy a few drinks or catch up with friends/family, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

Google
Perfect experience beginning to end! We stopped by for dinner tonight and were immediately greeted by the kindest hostess and shown to an outside table. I’m not truly sure who my server was because I feel like they all tag-teamed to make sure the food and drinks came out as quickly as possible. I had the blackened fish tacos with fries and the tacos were delicious. My wife has a salad with chicken and said it was fantastic as well. We finished the meal off with German chocolate cake that was really tasty. We had such a great experience - the people were nice, the food was excellent and the service was impeccable.

Yelp
Cozy Atmosphere, Delicious Food, and Amazing Service! North End Kitchen in downtown Roswell is such a cozy, quaint spot--ideal for a laid-back yet elevated dining experience. We sat out on the patio, and it was perfect--peaceful, comfortable, and such a nice vibe for catching up over great food. Speaking of the food--it was so good! You can tell everything is thoughtfully prepared with quality ingredients. What really made our visit stand out was our waitress, Telor. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we sat down. Great service always takes a meal to the next level, and she absolutely delivered. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great spot in Roswell--I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Bartender was great as we got there late around 8 and starving. Got the short rib sliders and they were a little greasy but good. Definitely want to go back for happy hour.

Yelp
Our first visit, and we can't wait to go back. The drinks, service, the management and the FOOD was incredible. We are now fans!

Yelp
I've had North End on my list for a while but for whatever reason had never made it there. Located in downtown Roswell, North End is tucked away in a more quiet area and the restaurant was uncrowded inside when we visited on a rainy Sunday night. There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant which North End shares with Gracious Plenty. We were really excited to try the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer but they were out so we instead tried the smoked Gouda fritters ($13), which were very good. My husband had the butternut squash ravioli ($21) and I had the honey panko salmon ($27). Both of these were delicious and I especially liked the Parmesan lemon risotto underneath the salmon. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I will definitely add this to our downtown Roswell restaurant rotation, and look forward to coming back to sit outside on the patio in the springtime.

Yelp
Excellent meal here this evening. We were able to take advantage of the weather and sit outside. I had the meatloaf with sweet potato mash, and fried onion rings - heavy and rich, but oh so good! Service was adequate.

Yelp
Ambiance is GREAT! Staff is AMAZING & FOOD SPECTACULAR!! We were a party of 9 and were seated immediately. We did make reservations several days ahead of time. Sydney immediately engaged us, shared the specials, and answered all of our questions! Her energy was friendly, kind, and she was so engaging!! The pièce de résistance was when Chef Sam came to our table and engaged with us! He spoke to everyone about the different dishes and made great recommendations! Also, he was just so down to earth and cool! It really was an incredible and unexpected treat for my book club group!! EVERYTHING we ate AND drank was delicious! I ordered the Honey Panko Salmon w/ Lemon Risotto and the Blueberry Margarita! Both were superb!! For my appetizer, I ordered the Burrata Caprese! It was equally delicious! Others in my party, ordered the Bistro Chicken, Short Ribs, Salads, and Smash Burger! No one had any complaints. They said the short ribs and chicken were very tender and the burger was extremely juicy! All in all, we were all extremely pleased. One of my friends said they were going back the next day!! Lol!! We'll definitely be back! It was a phenomenal culinary experience! Oh BTW, they do have free valet parking on Saturdays, per their website! We got in early so didn't have to use it!

Yelp
I've already written a review for Noth End but it keeps getting better each time. Food & service was always good and each time we go, we are making this our go-to spot. As a manager, Adrian is terrific with both the patrons & the staff. Tyler was so attentive & kind & upbeat! When you call for reservations, they show their appreciation so you can see in advance, you'll have a great experience. Thanks again. This is the first time I've written a second review. It deserves all the stars!

Yelp
This is a cute spot in downtown Roswell with a nice outdoor patio and valet parking. We got the calamari to start and the Ceaser salad. We didn't love the calamari as there were quite a few of the tentacles that no one ate. I would try the bacon wrapped shrimp or fried green tomatoes if we go again. The Caesar salad was good and I would get that again. I got the bistro chicken and enjoyed it with the Boursin mashed potatoes and micro greens. My husband got the pork chop with Brussels sprouts and apples and he liked it but would try something different next time. My one negative was that it was hot in the restaurant and this wasn't a very warm night. I would imagine it would be really uncomfortable during the summer if it was already hot on a milder night. I would be hesitant to come back before Fall since I don't like eating inside when it's warm.

Yelp
We just went for dinner tonight for Roswell restaurant week.... I don't get to Canton Street that much, but I have to say I will be coming back to this restaurant again.. EVERYONE from the valet, the bartender, to the manager, to the hostess, to our server were phenomenal, and it was packed!!! Thank you so much for the calamari, the wonderful meal and FANTASTIC service!

Yelp
My first time at North End and all I can say is SPECTACULAR!!!! Food is wonderful. Service Great. Chef came out and greeted us and checked on us several times. I will return. Wonderful Atmosphere. Thank You

Yelp
This place is located in suchhh a cute area! I love all the surrounding buildings and small town feel. It's very walkable and reminded me of Stars Hollow (where are my Gilmore Girl fans at?). The owner came out and chatted with us about her recommendations and she was so lovely. You could tell she really genuinely enjoys her job. The chef also came out to chat with us and we loved being able to rave about the pork chop we had. Seriously- so good The real star of the meal was the stack of fried green tomatoes. I would highly recommend and I'm not that into these usually. Overall we had amazing service and loved the intimacy of the space

Yelp
What a fantastic meal!! We were impressed with the service as well as the amazing food. Had such a great experience. We will definitely be back. Great cocktail list as well!

Yelp
Great patio with ample heating. Really good food. I've had the calamari and sweet potato burrata.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me so long to go to this restaurant. Don't be fooled by its causal appearance- the food is EXCELLENT! Would recommend this to anyone visiting Roswell. We have tried the salad, the tomato soup, the vegetarian puttanesca and all were phenomenal. Also love the patio dining in the temperate fall and spring months.
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I had a great dinner here last night. Very relaxed vibe, loved our food, service was terrific and everyone is friendly and seems well trained. And valet parking on weekends. What's not to like? The menu is diverse - plenty to choose from. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The food was great and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend North End Kitchen.

Yelp
Excellent all the way around. Started with an old fashion, which is one of the best in the city. Mains - SEARED SESAME AHI TUNA. The pickled vegetables were excellent. BACON WRAPPED MEATLOAF. The brussels sprouts were spot on. Service was top notch. Pleasurable experience.

Yelp
We were looking for a date night spot on a Wednesday night. I looked for spots on Yelp with a special. This spot popped up with good reviews and a half-priced wine special. We found a parking spot behind the restaurant and went in around 7 pm without a reservation. They put us in a nice spot near the door. The server was named Heavyn. She was very warm and knowledgeable about the menu/specials, etc. We got the Sam's Stuffed Chicken and the Mushroom Parpadelle. Both were excellent!! The chicken was moist and the risotto was creamy and decadent. The pasta dish was also fresh and creamy. It was very tasty. A manager introduced himself and when he learned we were first time visitors, he comped our dessert, an excellent chocolate cake we took home with us. This is an excellent spot for drinks and apps or a full meal. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the flavor. We'll be back!!

Yelp
The food was so delicious and the service delightful. I may have to go back again tomorrow. Thank you Roswell restaurant week for helping me discover this lovely restaurant. Indoors has a mix of regular tables as well as high top seating, which is wonderful for a tall person, such as myself. Each dish made my taste buds sing, from the lovely pear salad, so the scrumptious beef Wellington to the absolutely delightful pear tart. Delicious. I shall return with immediate alacrity!
google avatar

Derek R.

Yelp
Exactly what you want in a dining experience, especially for a "nice night out" with coworkers and spouses. "Balanced" is perhaps the best word, whether describing the ambience, price, portion or the menu's ambitiousness (which include the cocktail menu). Service was equally as splendid. Needless to say, we look forward to returning again soon to explore more of the menu!
google avatar

Ellen L.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal at North End Kitchen and Bar. The cocktails were excellent. We shared a salad with grilled chicken, a delicious burger, and great Brussels sprouts! The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, and we could hear each other speak! We will be back!

Moira H.

Yelp
Great food!! Everything was delicious and a very reasonable price! Service was great and nice outdoor seating with big heaters.
google avatar

Yelp
Great time with a party of 10. Food was good and we tried a lot between the ten of us. Service was good. One hole bathrooms are always a downer especially for the gals who ended up in the men's with a look out lol. Will go back someday.
google avatar

Loretta C.

Yelp
Our service was excellent and the food was delicious. We were able to sit outside. We were able to enjoy kids playing on the lawn. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I have never had a bad meal here, even when it was "Noca". I do like the new owner/manager better. Great for dine-in or take-out. For Roswell natives, it should be a go-to.

Yelp
This cozy little spot is tucked away in the heart of Roswell. The host and server (and overall service) was pleasant; everyone was accommodating and kind. We arrived around 7p and it was pretty busy/ loud, so just something to consider if you're looking for a different atmosphere. The food was just ok. We ordered: - Fried green tomato stack: this was the best part of our meal. Well seasoned, loved the plating, and simply delicious. Also, the goat cheese was a plus! - North end salad with blackened chicken: pretty average; nothing exciting here. The chicken was really tough and not seasoned--I left it on the plate. - Honey panko salmon: my husband sent this back. It seemed to have a terrible smell to it. Didn't get a pic :/ - Soup of the day-Chicken tortilla: This was his choice to replace the salmon dish he sent back. He said it was a much better choice, but nothing to rave about. - Spicy marg: He said this was the best part of his meal. Overall, it's a very cute, nice restaurant. I was hoping the dishes lived up to their beautiful photography used on their website. Would I return? Maybe, to try something else. I'd also encourage anyone to check it out for themselves!

Melissa G.

Yelp
We stopped here after a day on the river and exploring the mill, and Vickery trail. We had a few shareable items - salmon poke, fried green tomatoes, and bleu and blue sliders plus a salad. All was so yummy. The hibiscus sangria was refreshing on a warm summer's evening. The service was full of Southern hospitality. Our server, Katelyn (sp?) a delight giving great info and recommendations. The atmosphere is relaxing. I highly recommend eating here.

Yelp
What a lovely little surprise! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at North End. Like a cat this eatery has had many lives but we are hoping this one will be around for awhile. The menu is diverse and the portions extremely generous. We had little hiccup when my husbands wedge salad wasn't delivered prior to his steak but the vigilant Chef Sam immediately caught the error and all was well in short order. They graciously comped us for the salad which is just one of the many reasons we will be back! The ribeye steak au poivre was cooked to perfection and the accompanying mashed potatoes were nothing short of divine. I highly recommend the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Sangria. Amy was our very attentive server and we look forward to seeing her in the near future as we return, bringing friends! Great job, North End!
google avatar

Laura D.

Yelp
Very cute spot with good service! Most of the food we had was exceptional as well, specifically the vegetable puttanesca, north end and Claudius salads, and tomato basil soup. Good portion size on the short rib. The only dish I wouldn't necessarily recommend is the salmon poke appetizer - flavors were tasty, but the salmon itself didn't have good texture. The wine list was pretty good, although I would love to see more international wine options. The cocktails looked fun (we only tried the white sangria this trip). Overall, we will be back!

Nikki T.

Yelp
Went to this place a few months ago for appetizers and it was great. Went there this evening and appetizers were sub par. Sausage on flatbread was spicy and tasted like it was from local grocery. CHARCUTERIE BOARD was half the size it was for the same price. Clams were ok.....Don't think I'll go back." For the price

Mary W.

Yelp
First of all we couldnt find parking although half of their parking lot is reserved for valet parking. I guess if you want to have dinner here, be ready to pay for valet parking. We arrived at 5:45pm just for reference. We finally found the entrance which wasnt clear since next to the restaurant is a bakery, and there stood three people looking at us expectantly like we were there for anything else but to dine. So hubby finally said table for three. All three start looking down at the screen. It seemed like they were trying to work out a mathematical equation. It was getting awkward and finally the guy, maybe manager, says yeah did you have a reservation? I knew it was going down hill from there, so I turn around and get ready to leave because in my head Im trying to think did I end up in Buckhead Atlanta and my navigation messed it up! No we re in Roswell and its almost 6 and no reservation! So moral of the story, stay in Kennesaw or Downtown Woodstock if you want to try something different without a reservation.
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
So... I was so sad to Nocca close, but North End Kitchen is a fabulous replacement! Their outdoor seating ( with gorgeous fire table ) rivals anything on Canton street. Great menu, fun cocktails and FABULOUS service makes this place a 10! Oh don't forget the on-site FREE valet parking!

Harrison F.

Yelp
Great apps & entrees. More casual than expected and with younger children. Would come back again.

Yelp
Are here on a Saturday night. Thank goodness we got there early, this place was packed by the time we left at 8:30pm. We sat outside by the fire pit and it was a beautiful night. Our server was courteous and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some good suggestions. I ended up having the Shrimp & Frits and it was fantastic. My wife had the Short Rib sandwich. She said it was delicious. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Gretchen C.

Yelp
Really good meal. The waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was great and we barely scratched the surface of everything they have to offer. Definitely will be back! Side note: if you are from out of town or haven't frequented Roswell, the valet is complementary (free) if you are eating here.
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
Great salad Great service Shrimp and grits that looked like vomit, and tasted like super spicy chili

Deanna Urbano U.

Yelp
Great food, good drinks, friendly staff, very nice atmosphere. Not crowded on a Sunday evening.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice outdoor patio area with some fire places for warmth. Menu was interesting- American but with a twist and a few special not traditional items. There being said I had the cheese burger and fries. It was a smash burger and a pretty large portion. They had lots of nicer things too, a bar and an extensive drink menu as well I didn't try. The patio allows dogs.
google avatar

Heavyn B.

Yelp
I absolutely love the staff and amazing food at north end! It's the best place I've sang at in a while! Make sure you try the French dip and calamari!

Yelp
I thought it was fantastic. They didn't just simply change the name of the restaurant here but they made a new menu that is so much better. The whole experience was just so much better. The best thing we ate here was the salads. They were unique and memorable. I can't remember the last time I had a salad that stood out as much as these. I started with the North End Salad. The great thing about the salad and really a good indication of a quality restaurant is that each individual component of the salad was delicious and could be enjoyed on its own. The salad mix itself was a quality artisan mix with lots of unique lettuces, it had colorful heirloom cherry tomatoes that were exceptionally sweet as tomatoes should be, the charred corn was perhaps the best part and was delicious and finally, their peppercorn ranch might have been the best salad dressing I ever had. Nice fat content without being too thick and the perfect earthy brashness of pepper without being overwhelming. I don't even care if they bought it this way, it's the best salad dressing I ever had.  For my main, I had the pork chop. It was a generous portion and cooked perfectly. An excellently juicy and tender cut of pork. The sides were pretty amazing too. They had mashed potatoes with a Boursin cheese and Brussel sprouts with bacon and honey. Two things that aren't entirely unheard of but the way they did the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts I could have had those as mains. They were incredible.  As far as the service goes the waiter we originally had was not good. Rather, he had more tables than he could handle. However, as we began to wonder if he was going to come back to our table to take our order the manager or perhaps the owner came over to see if we were ok. When we said we were ready to place our order he took it which was an amazing show of hospitality. We only saw our waiter one more time but the manager checked back in so often we felt we had great service.  Overall I loved our visit here and the food was fantastic. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Chef Mike really went out of his way with these dishes. The flavor in all of these dishes were truly remarkable. The calamari had a diverse selection of flavors from the fresh calamari, the crispy, light fry, and the plethora of spices added. All together with the chimichurri pesto makes your mouth explode with flavor. The braised short rib Bolognese is rich and hearty. The meatballs are tenderly filled with ricotta cheese creating a flavor bomb the nicely challenges the robust tomato sauce. The steak frites was excellently cooked medium rare with a flavorful garlic butter melted on top. This paired well with the garlic parmesan fries. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area! Thank you chef Mike, we will be back.

Yelp
Started with the Honey drizzled Bosc pear salad with blue cheese and nuts... generous portion and delicious ! We both had a lobster/shrimp roll on a brioche bun that hit the spot. Strawberry basil margarita was a great sipper for the whole meal. The server was sweet and super accommodating and the bartender made a special drink for my friend who absolutely loved it. Great food, great staff. We will be back!

Yelp
I'm not sure it is just me but, this place has a bad odor to it. Like a musty smell or something. I'd suggest sitting outside or at the bar if they open the bar windows. The food is good and they have good drinks to choose from. Service was good. Just that weird smell...

Yelp
Katlin was so welcomeing to us thank you the food was amazing and amazing service it blow me out on the water

Payton K.

Yelp
This is the worst service I've ever experienced. We had a reservation for 7 PM. It is now 9pm, I have seen our server no more than 4 times and still waiting on what we ordered. When we asked how much longer the food would take we were told that "no one knows". I would rather not eat than ever step foot in this establishment again, not even because of the nonexistent service but also because of the prices being insane for what it is. This restaurant is a chaotic mess. Glasses are constantly being broken, There is absolutely nowhere to park. The valet told us to just "wrap around" because there are a "bunch of open spots". There was not a single spot open. Would NOT recommend.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Great snacks at the bar, wine selection, and service. Place was crowded but they were very efficient

Dirk L.

Yelp
We took six of us to celebrate two birthdays...NEVER AGAIN! A terribly noisy ambience started things off on a bad foot. It was SO loud (in the dining room, NOT the bar), it was impossible to comfortably carry on a conversation. Despite it being over 90 degrees outside, they had doors and windows open. So, if the noise didn't discourage you, the flies likely would have. The temperature INSIDE the dining room was 80 and rose to 82 before we were finished. We had several appetizers. The tuna tartare with avocado was delicious! The calamari was also crisp and tasty. The mussels in curry were destroyed by being so overcooked it was difficult to tell if there was still a mussel in each shell. HUGE disappointment! Our server was attentive and professional. Unfortunately, he was fighting a losing battle. He knew who ordered what and the person who "helped" him bring our food out, acted like it was his first night in fine dining...standing at one end of the table yelling "who had the xxxxxx". It was like being at Waffle House! For the most part the entree were good. The crusted grouper came cold, and the Korean short ribs, which are served in a cast iron skillet, were barely warm. The other four entrees were all satisfactory. They included the Korean French dip, fish tacos, steak and puttanesca pasta, and three crab cake-like patties. We all skipped dessert, despite our desire to further the birthday celebrations. This was the first time all three couples have tried North End, and the opinions were unanimous...it will be all our last. A terrible, expensive, and disappointing decision on our parts. There are too many more reliable, delicious restaurants within walking distance to take this risk again.

Yelp
This place is a best kept secret!!! What a discovery. Chef delectable food, great bar, great service, and watch the game. Great location, Nice seating areas. Will be going back to experience more of that menu!!

Yelp
Fantastic food and ambiance. I would highly recommend the following: - lavender gin fizz (refreshing and not too sweet); - p.e.i. mussels (a curry sauce instead of the more traditional white wine sauce, but very good); and - pork chop.
