I had the absolute best time at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive—every staff member made us feel like family. The food was absolutely delicious—authentic, full of rich, vibrant flavors, and clearly made with love and tradition. As someone from New York who’s dined at countless spots, I can confidently say this is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making the whole experience unforgettable. Cocktails were unbelievablely delicious. Def worth a try!! Can’t wait to come back—this place is a true gem!

Do you want dim sum but don't want to go all the way down to Boston and deal with the traffic and parking? Then this is the place to go! This is one of the only places in NH that has dim sum. We tried pretty much everything and everything was great. Everything was fresh and hot, unlike some of the more popular Boston dim sum places where things have been sitting out for a while so it's lukewarm. Out of everything we've tried, here are some things we recommend: Chicken claw in black bean sauce: this might be a bit more adventurous pick for most, but it is so good. Not too salty, but perfectly pairs with a side of white rice. Not the easiest to eat, but chewy and very good. Shrimp in rice rolls: This is a dim sum staple we get everywhere, and theirs is really chewy outside and has no fishy smell to shrimp. Sesame balls and egg tarts: These came out hot and delicious. Goes well as dessert. Aside from the food, the service was also really fast, and the servers were very accommodating and jovial. And to top it all off, the prices were much more reasonable than Boston places. So this place has it all: the good food, great service and very reasonable prices. Definitely check this place out.

My boyfriend and I dined at this establishment, ordering dinner and drinks. I opted for General Gao's chicken, while my boyfriend chose chicken curry, requiring a separate rice order. Upon arrival, my General Gao's chicken was cold, whereas my boyfriend's chicken curry was steaming hot. I informed the waitress, who apologized and offered to replace my dish. I accepted this solution. I also ordered a scorpion bowl for two, consuming most of it myself. Upon reaching the bottom, I discovered a piece of the bowl floating in the remaining liquid, accompanied by a mysterious black substance resembling mold. The staff promptly discarded the bowl, apologized, and offered a gift card as compensation, which I declined knowing I would never dine here again. Our total expenditure exceeded $100 for the entire meal, including two beers, one scorpion bowl, one large plate of rice, and two entrees. The experience was hardly appetizing, and the overall experience left me utterly disgusted. I intend to advise my friends and family against visiting this establishment in the future. It was not the New Year's Eve experience I had desired.

My family has been going there for years and the food was good. But now, these last few years, we started taking “take-out” and the food has been hit or miss (mostly miss). Our food this past weekend was horrible everything was dried out. We have decided that they must be filling early take-out orders with leftovers from the afternoon. That’s why it is “hit or miss”. They had lost our patronage.

Google
It had been a really long time since we ordered here, it used to be good. Not anymore. Overpriced and we got screwed. Crab rangoon had no crab in it, just cream cheese, $10 for 6... awful. Add insult to injury when one of the combination plates was completely missing the egg roll that it comes with. The general gau's chicken was chewy and the "garlic" sauce that comes with the ravioli was just soy sauce.

Can't get enough of their spicy fried squid and sesame balls! Delish :-)

Google
North Garden is an all around solid choice in the Manchester/ Goffstown area for Chinese. They might have the best tasting fried rice in all of New Hampshire. The place is always clean and the staff is friendly. They make good drinks. My favorite dish is probably the General Gao's or the Sesame Chicken.

Yelp
I love this place for specific dishes: pork intestines hot pot, salty fish fried rice! I don't think any place in Manchester has those two dishes that cooked as good as this place. When ordering pork intestine hot pot, you should order white Rice to eat with it. The service is nice too, never have any trouble while dining here This is like a family vibe restaurant, very cozy. I always come here for a quick meal

Yelp
Acceptable Chinese food for the area. Food arrived quickly and drinks were on point. We walked in with 14 people Sunday at 6 pm. No wait.

Yelp
Don't get the General Gaus meal.. awful.. will not order again..go elsewhere.. Seemed like it was strips of bad meat I was eating..

Yelp
I've been coming to North Garden with my family since I was young at their very first location which is now Pizza 911. The food is always fresh tasting, and the staff is always very welcoming and accommodating. Since their inclusion of dim sum on the menu I almost always come for it. My favorite is the sui Mai. The restaurant has an inviting dining area with a small bar with opposite side having a large lounge and bar. There is something for everyone.

Yelp
Service was great, smaller place! We had the D1 dinner combo and crab Rangoon. Overall decent Chinese food! My favorite was the beef teriyaki! It was nice and tender

Yelp
The best service the chicken and rice were sooooo good. The floors were clean and my food arrived very quickly. I RECCOMEND EATING HERE.

Candi C.

Yelp
Great Cantonese style food! We have dinner and tried their dim sum next day. The dim sum is freshly made on weekend. The shrimp rice noodles and rice noodles with dry shrimp are super silky smooth . Found out they're in business for 30+ years. It's nice to know great Chinese food in New Hampshire.

Yelp
2nd visit, hubby said house egg foo young was the best he's had, but the gravy was lacking. I tried crispy noodles with shrimp, chicken, beef and veg. Very good, lots of everything in it. Sauce very similar to the egg foo gravy (thin) Music via juke box, nice staff.

Yelp
Excellent Chinese food - especially Cantonese Dim Sum on weekends, great service & seating

Yelp
We have visited twice for dim sum and had 2 very different experiences. Our first visit was incredible! Everything was fast, hot, and very fresh tasting. Staff were attentive and it was a very enjoyable experience. Our second visit makes us not want to go back. Food was tepid, tasted old, and some items never arrived. When staff came to drop off the bill they asked if we got everything. When we said no, they asked if we wanted them to put the dumplings in. Clearly they knew that we did not receive our full order. At this time I don't see is going back, sadly.

Dave P.

Yelp
Service was not as expected (slow and not overly friendly). The food was disappointing considering we had ordered several times prior. The restaurant would not consider soup changes. We will not go back!

Susan C.

Yelp
North Garden stop being so cheap and hire a server in the bar!!! Waited an hour for an app and 30 min for a beer.

John L.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, always checking if anything is needed and filling water glasses. Fodd is always fresh and served hot. The hot & sour soup is great.

Terry L.

Yelp
Best in area everything and everytime things are cooked just right and fresh. Been to about a dozen places simply the best in my opinion.

Yelp
We had a dim sum brunch here with a large group of friends last Sunday at noon. The entire has open- as well as the dim sum menu. It is great that Dim Sum is offered here as it is a long drive to the greater Boston area to get it. We were all sat at 2 tables and not 1 large one which made it a bit awkward but it worked out in the end. Service was friendly and pleasant- drinks came out fast. Mixed drinks were a bit weak but were properly made and tasted good. Food came out sporadically and tasted fresh and seasoned well. I liked the hot chili oil on the table to spice things up. What other Chinese restaurant offers this? In the end, we all had a good time and will return when we have dim sum cravings.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a child with my family. The service is great and the staff are extremely friendly and quick. The ambiance is a typical small but cozy restaurant. Food is always great!

Yelp
Excellent food for the lunch special Ton of food and plenty to go home with . Fast and everything was hot and delicious

Yelp
Gross rude staff. Food bad. To expensive for what yo get. Wings are bland fingers are bland. Rice is dry and old tasting and no flavor Moo goo guy pan no flavor whatsoever and hard and chicken overdone dried out. No flavor at all. Stay away. Ugh device lousy. I hate it.

Yelp
North Garden is a small, cozy restaurant that serves dim sum every Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 11:30am-3:00pm. They also serve your traditional Chinese, Americanized Chinese, and Szechuan but my main purpose in checking out North Garden was to try out their dim sum. Their website allows you to order takeout online and pick up in 20 minutes. Pretty convenient and easy. I ordered my dim sum staples: steamed shrimp dumplings (hargow), steamed shrimp & pork dumplings (shumai), spare ribs w/black bean sauce, deep fried shrimp taro patties, fried taro turnovers, turnip cakes, and rice rolls with shrimp filling. These were a hit or miss. The steamed shrimp & pork dumplings were super tasty with the right amount of flavor and perfect texture. The steamed shrimp dumplings, however, were the complete opposite. The dumpling wrapper/skin was too hard which made it seem like the dish was microwaved VS steamed. The rice rolls with shrimp filling were abundant with shrimp but the texture of the actual rice noodle sheet left much to be desired. The turnip cakes were pretty solid and had good flavor. The deep fried shrimp taro patties were lacking in flavor...it desperately needed a little something something but other than that it wasn't too bad. The fried taro turnovers were weird - I wasn't a huge fan of the filling. A little too salty and isn't similar to the traditional fried taro filling I'm used to. The pork spare ribs with black bean sauce was pretty delicious. The pork was cooked well and the sauce was tasty. You'll definitely find better dim sum in Boston but beggars can't be choosers in Manchester, NH so if you're in the area, craving dim sum and not willing to make the trek to Boston then North Garden is an ok place. I'll come back to give their traditional dishes a try but their dim sum was pretty meh. I saw a table of Asian people had ordered the salt & pepper fried spicy squid and that looked pretty promising so that's next on my list!

Yelp
Food is delicious and at good value. The servers are pleasant and professional. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Steve B

Yelp
Been going to this restaurant for many years Honestly not one time have we been unhappy with the food. Always hot fresh and service is A+ Winnie the owner is always there to serve you with a warm greeting. Has a sanitizer bottle with wipes always on hand. Customers wait outside until next pick up is ready.

Yelp
North Garden offers a good Chinese menu offering the traditional Chinese fare, house specialties, Chinatown dishes, lunch & dinner combination plates, and Dim Sum. The restaurant has a full cocktail bar and a cozy dining room with light green colors, wood tables, and wood cushion seats. There's also Karaoke on Saturdays (9:00 PM to closing) in the separate cocktail lounge/function hall in back of the restaurant. After having Sunday Dim Sum at the sister restaurant South Garden in Merrimack (almost identical menus with slightly less selection), I was still in the mood for some more Dim Sum. I stopped in at the North Garden for some Monday Dim Sum. The 26 Dim Sum items are served on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays (11:30 AM to 3:00 PM). The Dim Sum here is pretty good for NH standards without having to drive to Boston Chinatown. There's no traditional pushcart here, so you order off the placemat menu (pictures of some items). Prices range from $2.95 (dumplings, steamed buns) to $5.95 (beef or pork soup with rice noodles for 2). I ordered some complementary hot tea and the following Dim Sum items: Sampler of Steamed Buns (chicken, mashed lotus nuts, vanilla filling): $2.95 (small & very good) Grilled Bean Curd Sheet Rolled with Shrimp (3): $3.75 (bit chewy) Pan Fried Rice Rolls with Shrimp Filling: $3.80 (my favorite item here, not available at South Garden) Pork Soup with Rice Noodles (for 2): $5.95 (large soup bowl with hearty chicken broth, homemade rice noodles, pork, scallions, & Chinese broccoli, very good and filling) The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out because of the steaming process and had some missteps in the beginning with the wrong items such as Chicken Claws and Pork Rice Soup being brought out to the table, but were corrected with apologies. After the meal, the server brought the check out with a fortune cookie and pineapple cubes with toothpicks. Overall the food was pretty good and service was friendly here.

Yelp
Today we ordered $70 of food from this normally reputable location for our family. Upon delivery, it was very obviously the wrong order. Now, this can happen from time to time, but the exciting surprise we didn't expect was the following- not only did they ask my gf to drive their mistake back, they asked because apparently they intend to deliver this food to another customer! After it had been opened, pawed through by my gf, myself, and two children! Not only is this disgusting, and incredibly poor customer service, it's honestly dangerous and I'll certainly be forwarding this information on to the proper authorities for review, since I sincerely doubt this is the first time they've done this. Shame on you, North Garden. Gf checking in: the driver from DoorDash had actually warned me from the start that the bag had another name written on it, crossed out and then had mine written on it instead - in case something was wrong. Sure was. When I brought the wrong order back to North Garden - yes so they could actually then deliver it to the correct party - they blamed the driver for grabbing the wrong thing. All around terrible service on their part. Our dinner was barely above room temperature by this time, chewy and had no flipping rice. I imagine the recipient of the wrong-order-hot-potato had even colder food (don't worry bro we didn't lick or eat anything but I'm so sorry they sent that to you)

Yelp
Got the Dim Sum here and it was pretty good and was around the same price range of $4-6/plate as they have in Boston. They serve Dim Sum only on Monday, Saturday and Sunday until 3pm. They have a nice size parking lot which is nice and convenient. I saw that they have wifi but I didn't use it and you have to ask for the password. They have a lot of variety of asian foods which is impressive. Next time ill try a plate of their walnut shrimp! Docked a couple points for the service. The front desk was attentive and nice but the guy serving seemed to only pay attention to other tables and wasn't as friendly to my table. I had to flag him down just to order and he wasn't very polite afterwards. Over all good food but mediocre service. Maybe just order take out and save yourself the tipping fee.

Yelp
IMO This is the best Chinese food in town, the food is always made fresh with love and tasty! The service is above and beyond the best part of coming here. 真的很正宗很好吃很新鲜的粤菜!你要相信中国游客的评价~ ;p

Yelp
We ordered takeout tonight. The food was great! Nice assortment of different plates. We tried the chow foe fried rice under the "Chinatown dishes" portion of the menu. The tidbits plate, lo mein, wonton soup and crab Rangoon. The only reason they received a four star review instead of five stars is because a couple crab Rangoon didn't have any filling and the others had to much. We would definitely try this place again!
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Very tasty! I had a craving for walnut shrimp midweek and my boyfriend who's from Manchester recommended this restaurant (he and his friends frequent the lounge area). Nice big portions and very fresh! Our waiter was attentive and the restaurant was very clean and had a calming atmosphere. Next time I'll be sure to check out the lounge! I'm going to hopefully be back Sunday to checkout the dim sum!

Yelp
FOUND HAIR in the food. Traveled all day from Vegas to Manchester and just wanted a quick and easy dinner. North Garden looked like it had some different dishes so I thought I would give it a shot. I was doing pretty good until I found 2 HAIRS in my Vegetable Lo Mein. See the picture I attached and now I want to puke!

Yelp
The food is always delicious! We typically order take out but we recently dined in. The service is friendly and quick! The items we have enjoyed include: egg drop soup, won ton soup, fried rice, egg rolls, dim sum, dry garlic ribs, cashew chicken, Mapo tofu, lo mein, egg plant with garlic sauce, sesame chicken, orange beef, and we look forward to trying more.

Yelp
I ordered a $48 meal for my family and I gave a $10 tip and the one item of the food was way over cooked and all of the food was cold I called them and spoke with the manager to let them know and didnt want a refund or credit just wanted to let them know and the manager argued with me and called me a liar I will never get food from them ever again not cool how they treated a customer who orders from them a few times a month with I could give zero stars
google avatar

Bailee P.

Yelp
I get Chinese from here every Sunday. They forget to put things in large orders sometimes so I would check your bag before you leave so you aren't driving back to pick something else up. I like the food but usually just because I'm hungover and need it to watch the patriots. Crab rangoons are a 10 but nothing else is to die for.

M W.

Yelp
Still awesome. I've been craving Chinese food like crazy lately, which isn't normal for me. In any event, the food is always hot when it arrives, the delivery driver is super kind, and they are always right on time (unlike most delivery). We quite love this restaurant.

Yelp
Drove from Boston to the north mountain of NH, stopped by for lunch and WOW! Unbelievable that we can find such fine Chinese dim sum in a quiet town, better than what you can find in China towns. Shrimp dumpling, Crab rangoons, wonton soup, and house fried rice. more that 30 items on the menu for dim sum, and all dilicious! On the way back one day later, we stopped by for a dinner. Those classic Cantonese main dishes are great! Fresh, tasty. We discovered that they have a bar/lounge connected at the other end in a separate branch of the building, it is big with TVs. We were tired and after dinner, we sit in the lounge enjoying some beers and watching the games, ordered some BBQ beef and chicken wings and those are awesome with beers. Wish I could have the receipes so I can fry some meat in my backyard like this.

Yelp
Always fresh, always good! I love that I don't have to drive an hour to Boston when I crave for yummy dimsum.

Yelp
My parents and I go to North Garden occasionally when I come home for a visit. We go to the bar side of the restaurant and the food is always amazing! Their scorpion bowls and Mai Tais are very strong and delicious. The food always comes out hot and the service is always wonderful. On Saturday nights they do Karaoke starting at 8pm so if you don't want to witness that, try to get there early.

Tasha B.

Yelp
Ordered take out and spent $40 on generals chicken and a pupu for 2. The Generals chicken was pretty good. The pupu platter on the other hand...everything breaded and deep fried was awful . So over cooked and somewhat burnt that it hurt to bite into any of it. The photo makes the egg roll look better than it actually did. Not impressed whatsoever . Called the restaurant to let them know and see if I could atleast get a refund on half of the pupu platter or even drive back down to get my food remade and the woman who answered the phone wasn't having it. All she did was say she would let the cook know and hung up. Next time I want to spend $40 on Chinese take out Ill go to Aloha on Hanover
google avatar

Nickie L.

Yelp
I love their authentic China town menu. Get the Salty spicy jumbo shrimp or the fried tofu with minced shrimps. They have best fried rice around. There has been some improvement I noticed in the food, service and decor.

Yelp
It doesn't look like your typical dim sum parlour but ManchVegas's North Garden is a good stop for the great cantonese weekend brunch. It's a good sized place without feeling overwhelming and the menu has around 20 to 30 choices, making it an excellent dining option for a large group. For the first time in my life I managed to eat and enjoy chicken feet here so they must be doing something very right! Certainly the girls that work here are adept at their jobs - the lady who took our order seemed to be using some Jedi mind trick on us as we basically asked for everything she said was good and we should try. We ended up very full - and for very little money. Better dim sum than what can be found in most chinatowns. There are plenty of framed press reviews to attest to this. Well done to the chef!

Yelp
HORRIBLE service. Okay food. I came back to this restaurant, hoping for good food. A hostess brought me too a table, and it take her TEN FUCKING MINUTES. She was talking to another waiter and when I finally got my table, she didn't even say anything. The waiter, I asked for her name, is Kelly. She never asked us to drinks. My girlfriend and I agreed ordered an "Eggplant w. Chicken & Garlic Sauce in Pot" we still didn't get our drinks. It took them 30 minutes to make the food. It was so disgusting and mushy that it wasn't edible. Although I have had great experiences with this restaurant before, I will never go back to this disgusting, horrible, restaurant. The WaToy and Golden Tao and Jade Dragon and a lot better than North Garden.

Yelp
A family owned establishment, owners and operating for decades. Serving Classic Chinese and Dim Sum menus. Outstanding quality dishes and customer service. Chef prepares all dishes on site including hand crafted noodles used in many dishes including chow fun. Moderate pricing and distinguished quality.

Yelp
I am a long time customer of North Garden. Yesterday, around 4 pm, I ordered sweet and sour pork off of the lunch menu and the pork was undercooked. It was squishy and pink inside, and after eating two of individual pork pieces, my stomach felt uneasy. When I talked to the waiter, he didn't seem to understand that undercooked pork is a health hazard. I paid my $6.81 and left. I am disturbed by what happened. The waiter was very inexperienced. I have gone to the restaurant for years, always stopping by when I came back home when I lived in California (I'm now back in southern New Hampshire), but don't know if I will ever go back again. I tried contacting the restaurant on its web page, but the address was invalid! I had cut back -- way back -- on the frequency of eating in the main dining room due to the presence of a drinker at the bar who was very loud and obnoxious -- a know-it-all who used profanity. I used to dine there twice a week, but cut back to perhaps once a month; if I wanted to Chinese, I went to a place near my sister called Beijing or ordered takeout from North Garden. When my brother, who is in the service, came back to the old neighborhood and wanted to go to North Garden, I warned him about this disruptive individual. We went, and sure enough, the know-it-all was pontificating from his place in the bar and using vulgar language -- his voice can be heard through the entire dinging room, which is small, despite a partition. I assume nothing is down about this disturbing individual as drinkers are invaluable to restaurants as they are cash generators from lapping up the lush. And North Garden is located in a working class neighborhood, so low class behavior is tolerated. I give the place four-stars still as its good honest food, reasonably priced. It pains me to have to report what I have just told you. I recommend the place, but you're warned: Stay away from the pork!

Yelp
I grew up in Manchester, and whenever I'm back in town I've gotta make my stop at North Garden. They've got excellent Lunch Specials that are so tasty and hearty - - and at an excellent value for the money. They have a chef's special dish that I've been eating for decades - - it's so good: Scrambled Eggs with Shrimp. Might sound a little weird, but it's out of this world. I think they put chives in it, and they cook it in some manner with oil that embues it with a really nice taste. I recommend it! They give you a nice big pot of tea with your meal when you eat in the restaurant and end it with a fortune cookie (believe it or not - not every Chinese restaurant does this anymore, but I like it when they do!). They have Pu-Pu platters and Crab Rangoons (which you also can't find at every Chinese restaurant anymore either...well, at least not the ones in NYC). Oh!....and they are one of the only places I know in Manchester where you can go for Dim Sum (they don't wheel around the carts, but you can order off the menu the dim sum items you want). They are located on the West Side of Manchester in the Pinardville section of town.

Yelp
Beef chow food is extremely delish! Steamed shrimp dumplings are good. I only visit this place at noon on weekends so that I can pack dim sum. The dim sum is tasty and fresh made, and cheap price. Bad side: they only serve dim sum at noon on weekends which is kinda inconvenient to me.

Yelp
We have been disappointed with the Chinese food we have been getting in the greater Manchester area. Maybe once a month we need to satisfy our taste buds with Peking Ravioli, boneless spare ribs, sesame chix, lo mein, a szechuan dish .... Checked out reviews on Yelp, and selected the best . . . it turned out to be accurate. Even my call to order 'take out' seemed to be a good omen, as the owner/woman who took my order was excellent. 'Pick up' continued to be a good experience, and our taste buds were treated to the best Chinese food we have had in a long time. Everything was great, and especially the Peking Ravioli that might have been the best ever (hand made ?). Phone added to speed dial :-)

Yelp
Not sure what happened to this place, maybe they just don't care anymore. It was never really great to begin with but it used to at least be considered edible. Our food tasted and smelt as if it had been reheated multiple times and at least a week old. The drinks weren't much better as I found two fruit flys in my drink, which they didn't even comp after I complained. But on top of that they were extremely watered down. Too many better places to eat in the area so I won't be returning ever again. Avoid this place like the plague.
