We left already planning our next visit… and that says it all. Dining at North Italia felt a little like being welcomed into someone’s home. Everything from the flavors to the service had a comforting, familiar touch, while still feeling elevated. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done, and the staff made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The menu is a bit pricier than some other restaurants in the area, but the quality truly makes it worthwhile. We left full, happy, and already excited to come back to explore more of the menu.

Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. Hadn't been here since they expanded - loved the decor and atmosphere of the new space. The bar is quite impressive. The specialty cocktails were awesome - I ordered the Watermelon Sugar and highly recommend it. Our server provided excellent service. She was very attentive and patient with our group as we spent a lot of time visiting. Food was excellent as usual! Need to come back more often!

Had brunch here today and it was a great experience overall. The food was definitely the standout. I ordered the steak and eggs and it was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender, full of flavor, and just the right portion. The eggs were fluffy and paired nicely with everything else on the plate. It was one of those meals that hits the spot without trying too hard. I also decided to try the banana coffee cake and wow, it was incredible. Moist, rich, and packed with banana flavor. The crumble topping added a nice texture and a little crunch to each bite. It was easily one of the best pieces of coffee cake I have ever had. That said, it is super sweet. By the time I finished it, I felt like I needed a nap. Definitely a sugar bomb, but a really good one. The service was decent but not amazing. We were seated pretty quickly, but it took a little while before someone came over to take our order. Once our food arrived, everything was correct and well timed, but the staff was not overly friendly or engaging. It felt a bit transactional. Nothing bad happened, but the overall energy could have been better. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual, which made it a nice place to hang out for a weekend brunch. I would absolutely come back. If you are looking for a solid brunch with great food, this place is worth a visit. Just pace yourself with the coffee cake.

Had a wonderful lunch here! Loved the atmosphere and the food was excellent. The service took a little longer, likely because of the rush hour, but it was worth the wait. Vegetarian options: Prosciutto Bruschetta Arancini Margarita Pizza Funghi Pizza Pomodoro Drink: Pina No Lada was good

Google
We made a reservation about couple weeks in advance due to wanting to celebrate a wedding. After the intimate wedding, my husband and I went out to eat here at the Leawood location to celebrate! We had a couple kids and 4 other adults. The service, the atmosphere and food/drinks was great. There was zero complaints and really loved incorporating this restaurant into our special day!! Literally had anything to accommodate kids, picky eaters and all kinds of drinks!!

Google
Beautiful spot in Leawood. Great wine and cocktail list, the food is superb, and the ambiance is bright and vibrant. Get the white truffle garlic bread! A lovely patio with west-facing subplot but plenty of umbrellas so you don’t roast in the summer.

Google
Great spot! Food was delicious. We got in and sat right away on a Saturday night. Service could have been a little quicker but they were all very busy so it was no big deal. Will come back and bring friends.

Google
Everything we had was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. We got the grilled bread, the Bolognese & Rigatoni alla Vodka, the olive oil cake and the butter cake. We also ordered 1 alcoholic drink, 1 NA drink and a coffee. Our waitress was excellent, very kind attentive and timely. Other staff members delivered portions of our order and each of them were very friendly. It was great to see so many kind faces contributing to our experience there. I would absolutely recommend this place and I will be coming back!

Yelp
Came in for an impromptu lunch date. Hot Friday afternoon, busy around 12:30pm. Seated very quickly and noticed a few open tables. Large patio was packed. Comfortable seating. Relaxed with a couple of drinks (pictured), enjoyed the Truffle Bread. Soft, warm, cheesey. Just the right amount. Our entrees came out streaming! Absolutely perfectly cooked salmon and veggies for me, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka (not pictured) for my husband. We both had to stop ourselves because it was so delicious! Our server/bartender was very knowledgeable and helped us with the questions we had to curate our experience. Becca was amazing! She was never rushed and took time to visit with us. She's pretty cool and we definitely plan on coming back to have her take care of us again. Thank you, Becca!!! Very clean, well run establishment and the food, drinks, and service were top notch.

Yelp
I just love North Italia. Satisfied every time. It's clean, beautiful, great service, amazing flavors textures and ingredients, and consistent!! Please take the time to appreciate the art of their food, service and ambiance!! You can't go wrong here!! Another plus - my husband and I split an entrée and they served two separate plates to us rather than making a split at ourselves. That's just thoughtful!

Yelp
What can I say about North? That it really hit the spot on a wonderful day in OP. After running a few errands, my partner and I were nearby, and I suggested North be use he had never been--it was the best choice we made! The service, ambiance, and food were perfect for a sunny afternoon. Since it was great outside (and around 3pm), we got our choice of spots outside on a Saturday (FYI by the time we got to leave, around 5:30, it was very busy--make a reservation if you go at peak dinner times!). We ordered an aperol spritz and their pomegranate mule--both hit the spot, and my partner got a second pomegranate mule, demonstrating the deliciousness. We ordered the bread and olive oil (soooo goooood), the shrimp scampi, and the arancini for appetizers. All were so delicious and really flavorful! For an entrée to split, we got the lumache Della Norte, which was definitely out of my normal type of pasta. It was creamy and good, but wished there had been a few more (or larger) pieces of sausage to taste them a bit more! Overall, can't wait to come back and get those zucchini chips and try out more of the menu! Everything so far has been wonderful, so I look forward to my future trips to North!

Yelp
Beautiful room with a bright lively vibe. Just average signature cocktails. Good but small arancini app. Excellent Napolitano Pizza. The Squid Ink Tonnarelli was not exceptional (almost no seafood flavor overpowered by a nice but unexciting sauce).

Yelp
Grabbed lunch at north with my mom and was impressed! It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we were able to get in without a reservation. We asked our server for recommendations and followed them. We got the bruschetta and the pesto pasta. Both were delicious with tons of fresh flavors. It was the perfect amount of food for the two of us! Definitely worth a stop!

Yelp
Nice restaurant, seems very clean. Service was good. The Chopped Chicken Salad w/ red wine vinaigrette was delicious and the Just Peachy was mostly lemon and ginger flavored but not bad.

Yelp
This place features a nice upscale interior and incredible Italian fare, along with some very intriguing cocktails. My partner and I sat outside on a gorgeous day and the outdoor seating was awesome, they've got umbrellas to keep you shaded and a great space to make you feel comfortable. The small plates we had were our bread with olive oil which was truly delicious, we couldn't get enough of it. We also had the shrimp scampi and the garlic with the tomatoes and parmesan made for incredible bite. We devoured it. The arincini was also delicious and creamy, highly recommend. The lumache pasta was pretty good, the pasta was definitely al dente so it had some depth to it. The sauce was delicious, the sausage pieces were quite tiny and a bit limited. I thought the dish could've used some more of the sausage overall. Overall our meal was excellent and I will definitely be back to indulge on some incredible dishes

Yelp
Large group of us for dinner. We ordered a lot of appetizers to share. The zucchini chips were a bit greasy. The eggplant parm was a little tough. I got the winter vegetable salad and pizza. The salad was excellent! I would get that again. Even make it my main meal. The pizza was ok. Everyone liked their meal. Portions were generous. Service was excellent.

Yelp
Food - delivers every time as darn "rootin tootin" tasty Service - attentive, professional, w/o being over-bearing Ambiance - Plenty of natural light from west floor to ceiling windows - can be REALLY loud when packed. Been going here for years with the family, pizza, pasta, and appetizers always great and delivered to table in reasonable time. 1st time here for brunch on 3/30/25 - Had the Steak and Eggs with an additional side/appetizer of grilled parm bread with "good olive oil" (as stated on menu). Steak is a great flavor and (for me Medium Rare), delicious even before adding the In House Hollandaise. Nice touch with not a boatload o sauce, Yummy hash brown mix with red pepper bits and maybe pimento and either cilantro or sage. 2 your-way eggs cooked perfectly, and 2 pie like slices of parm bread as well w the dish. Yummy leftovers galore for me!!!

Yelp
Hadn't been to North in a while and so we went for Father's Day! The food was excellent, as usual! Loved the expansion of the dining room and the refresh on inside and patio decor! So classic. Service was very good! Our server had great recommendations and asked how we liked the drinks and dishes and she seemed genuinely interested! We will not wait so long to return!

Yelp
Vibes, decor, food, drinks - North hits the mark on it all! Stopped by for drinks and dinner with two friends on Pi Day and we ordered: old fashioned, vodka soda with pineapple, zucca chips, eggplant parmesan, tuscan kale salad with chicken and the special lasagna pizza. I'm now obsessed with the zucca chips, but really everything was amazing! The eggplant parm and lasagna pizza had just a touch of spice, enough to make it interesting and add flavor. The tuscan kale salad had a perfect balance of crunchy breadcrumbs, sweet grapes and savory dressing. Truly delicious! The vibes are similarly fun with cute, modern decor and a huge open seating area. North is typically really crowded so make a reservation unless you are visiting an an off hour. In summary, don't be dissuaded by North's status as a chain restaurant in a Leawood strip mall, this place is the real deal and definitely worth a visit!!

Yelp
Made reservations for a table of 14 people on a Friday night and had a wonderful meal. Our server Maho G worked hard and stayed on top of all our requests. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the spicy rigatoni vodka and it was my favorite dish I tried. Also enjoyed the squid ink tonnarelli. Least favorite was the lasagna Bianca, just a weird version of lasagna with a white sauce that didn't work for me. Be sure to order the pistachio gelato and make your reservation today!

Yelp
This was my first North Italia visit, and the food was incredible. I was there Monday night during Happy Hour, which wasn't terribly busy. Even with the dinner rush, it never felt crowded. Busy, yes, but not the uncomfortable, "Why are these tables so close? This stranger is in my bubble." kind of crowded. The service was great, and our waitress was so kind and helpful. Once the lights were dimmed for dinner service, the mood was perfected. The Zucca Chips were recommended, and I easily could have had twice as many as I did. My main goal for the foreseeable future is how to replicate that recipe because it was the perfect blend of crunchy and flavorful without feeling like oversalted chips that leave you feeling gross. Zucca chips are a win! For my main meal, I got the Trottole Chicken Pesto. I wavered between that and the Chicken Parm or the Spicy Rigatoni. I was pleasantly pleased with my choice, and the toasted pine nuts and capers were the ideal topper for this dish. I would absolutely come back to this location. It's always great to find a new Italian restaurant, and I'm thrilled to add this to my list of favorites.

Yelp
I have visited a few different locations and this dining experience fit right in with the aesthetic that North Italia always delivers. I typically order the same thing since I have had about 80% of the menu, and per usual the Salmon entree was exquisite! My server Adam was also very pleasant, and even provided good recommendations to others within my party that have never been to the restaurant. 10/10

Yelp
We had an early dinner and decided to try this place based on other reviews. Although it was early, the place was packed! We did get a table pretty quick. The restaurant is clean and the design is fairly modern and sleek. I enjoyed the ambiance. We had the carpaccio- it was delicious!! Like a flavor and texture bomb in my mouth! My husband ordered the scallops and raved about them. I had the margarita pizza- it was ok. The service was great!! Will try other dishes next time.

Yelp
Five stars for a chain? Not usually, but North gets it done every time. Great flavors, solid cocktails, and some of the most attentive staff around. I feel like going less than five would just be wrong for this location. Several years ago we had North for carry out during covid. We wanted something that would deliver (it was 2020) and we wanted a nicer meal, enter North. We enjoyed everything we had, and I discovered that their truffle bread is insanely delicious. Once covid became more manageable and we ventured back out, I sort of forgot about North until recently when my dad was on the hunt for someplace to celebrate his birthday. He lives out south, loves italian food, and didn't really want to drive into the city. My brain immediately remembered that great bread from North and that it looked like a nice place so we booked a table and the rest is history. We've now been back again to celebrate his retirement, and each time everything from the hospitality to the food has been wonderful. We even have brought our infant with us and nobody bats an eye. Are there other really great local Italian places to dine at, sure, but if you're in Leawood and want a nice place to sit down and enjoy a drink and some truffle bread you're unlikely to find a better contender nearby.

Yelp
I would pass by this location a lot and decided to give it a try with my girlfriend. When you walk in, the ambiance feels upbeat. It definitely sets the right mood to prepare you for your dining experience. There's a bar side with high tables and the other side for more of a sit down, booth style experience. We ordered the Bottle & Board. We went with the Naples White Pizza and white wine. The pizza was flaky, airy, and had great flavors that made you want to take several bites. The portion size was good and it was filling. The wine paired perfectly with the pizza and I was satisfied with my experience. Overall, it was a good time. The service, food, and area is good. I will be returning here and I recommend you to do the same.

Yelp
Haven't been in awhile but will definitely be back. Happened to go on half price wine bottle so we indulged and had a nice evening sitting at the bar.

Yelp
Ambience was very cool with the indoor / outdoor look. If you can get the patio due, it's nice to people watch and then look inside. The heirloom tomato and burrata salad was simply divine. The Stromboli was good, rich, and as you would expect. It was filling yet, not too heavy. The meatballs were excellent and I was thinking as a simple appetizer though they ended up being a full course meal great flavor, huge size and the sauce was definitely a lot. Good for leftovers. Pizzas as expected from an Italian restaurant- light and fluffy yet filling - you know when you're at a good restaurant where there's not tons of cheese. Calamari were excellent, and the dipping sauces were a nice touch. They were not overly breaded like a lot of calamari is but you have to eat fast because if it gets cold and it starts getting chewy. Overall an excellent experience. Pictures do the food justice. Service is definitely top-notch. Will definitely go again to try more things.

Yelp
Came in for brunch on a Sunday because I had heard great things about this place and I was not let down. Jacey was my server and was amazing and so sweet! The Chicken Parmesan was the best I'd ever had and I also had an espresso martini and Peach Bellini and they were awesome. I definitely will have this in my rotation to places to eat now.

Yelp
I have never in all my life had some of the BEST food ever than here in North Italia. Like it's bringing a tear to my eye and the urge to go back right now for dinner. They just opened up a new seating area in the restaurant not too long ago, so plenty of seating to go around! It's a neat spot to enjoy brunch with your friends as it's a very calm ambiance, easy to hold conversation with one another. The waiters are phenomenal and always provide recommendations, crowd faces, etc. My typical choices are: chefs board (chefs kiss, my go to, my one and only, you need to try immediately. It has different types of cheeses, delicious fig jam, crunchy pieces of bread, nuts, meat slices, roasted peppers, ugh just absolutely delish!), heirloom tomato and burrata (brings a tear to my eye, it's topped with a delicious calabrian sauce that just ties all the flavors together), seasonal salad (my waiter said you can get this as a half serving as well! Every single aspect and ingredient in this dish just BLEND beautifully, each bite gives you a taste of anything and everything), burrata toast (it's like garlic bread meets delicious burrata to top on, meets heaven in a bite). With that being said, try them ALL! I promise you will not be disappointed. If you see a table with all of these dishes on it, that's me!
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Fantastic food and drinks. My wife loved her scallops. I had the very popular chicken parmigiana. Our friends had the pesto chicken bowl with goat cheese and the bolognese dish. They had a house special old fashioned made with Whistlelig which was incredible.
google avatar

Delia M.

Yelp
This place serves uncooked poultry. The manager told me this evening that each piece is tested with a thermometer before plating, this is clearly not the case. They also charged me for the meal after the fact. Awful customer service from management, would not recommend. Only giving a star because the app forces you to do so.

Yelp
Had no idea North Italia was such a cutie lil restaurant in Town Center! Stopped in for a girls lunch and was pleasantly surprised! North Italia has a large wine & drink menu for those looking to enjoy and adult beverage. Portion sizes did seem generous. We shared the Naples White pizza and the Tuscan Kale salad (rec adding chicken!). The pizza was delicious. Nice thin crust with Parmesan melted into it - soo good. The Tuscan Kale salad also exceeded expectations. Loved the Parmesan vinaigrette and the pistachios. Looking forward to trying more menu items the next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
While in town for a meeting a grabbed a spot at the packed bar during happy hour. If you are fortunate like me, Lizzel will be your bartender. Happy hour is M-F 3-6. I had the meatballs and the margarita. I also ordered seasonal vegetables to give me the balance I needed for this early dinner. If you are my friend, you know I'm NOT a pork fan. These meatballs are some of the best I've ever had. The portion was more than enough for one person. It could be split between two nicely. I also added the seasonal veg to give the balance I needed. I loved them minus the peas as I'm not a fan. Lastly I had the espresso martini. Yum! Great end to an early dinner.

Yelp
I'm going to start off by saying we had superb service at this restaurant. Our server was amazing. Extremely professional, welcoming and knew her stuff! Had really REALLY good recommendations. I ordered the New Italian Spritz that was pretty good. Followed up by the Grilled Branzino, and the reason why I'm giving this review a 4 stars is because this dish was missing quite a few of the ingredients listed on the menu, thought it was exquisite, I was pretty bummed to miss some of my favorite veggies that were listed. I ended the night with a delicious Tiramisu. WOW! It was spectacular! Overall a very pleasant experience.

Blair G.

Yelp
Food is always excellent. Great flavor. Fresh and vibrant and savory. Even dessert is always good. My boyfriend loves tiramisu and says this place has one of the best. It's a cute little bright restaurant with a good homey vibe

Jena T.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Tried chicken pesto, bolognese, and chicken parm and would get all three again. Wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Prompt service. Restaurant has a lot of tables but doesn't feel crowded.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
Our food was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed the tortellini and my husband had the bolognese. Both were very good. Highly recommend purely based on the food. Atmosphere was loud and busy which was interesting. We had a party of 6 and the host was going to sit us at a half round booth which we preferred something else and they were kind enough to accommodate and find us another table. Our service was prompt and friendly. She made good recommendations as well. This restaurant is better for dinner or happy hour with friends not for family or special occasions.

Yelp
EXQUISITE. We had been here previously and always enjoyed it. Honestly, it may be even better now than it was. We started with the truffle bread and Simple Salad. Both of these dishes really knocked it out of the park. Can't say enough about the truffle bread and I'll probably continue to daydream about it. For my entree, I had the funghi pizza. The flavor and the crust were great, a bit runny though so I'd say you'd have to eat it by fork. Enjoyed it though! I was impressed by their cocktail options as well, both alcohol and non alcoholic. Service was really good too as I feel like we were checked on often. My only critique is I'd say our entrees took quite a while. Maybe due to how busy it was but it was about an hour. Worth the wait though! I imagine we'll be back soon!

Yelp
First time eating here, was somewhat surprised at the casual atmosphere and very open seating. The ambiance is upscale cafe, and the sound level is fairly high. Tables are close enough together you can hear the conversations. We ordered bread and oil to start, the bread was char-grill toasted outside, thick enough to be soft in the middle, very tasty with the oil, Parmesan, balsamic mix on the plate in which to dip. Entrees were Lasagna Bianca, a white lasagna with beef short rib meat on top. The portion was decent, not huge, and the flavor was very nice. Not a particular fan of beschamel, but paired with the short ribs, it worked. We also had the Crushed Meatball Ragu, a red sauce dish with bucatini pasta. The meatballs were delicious, the pancetta good. The blistered onions were delicious and more than plentiful. The only negative was the bucatini, it didn't quite get cooked all the way to even Al dente. Very chewy. Server was very competent and attentive. Enjoyed our visit, but think I'll keep looking for that "special Italian place."
google avatar

Yelp
Service was quick, food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Amazing flavors will definitely be back. Great location, the place was busy but not overly packed. Love the outdoor seating options.

Yelp
Came to celebrate an anniversary and enjoyed both the food and the service. At the moment there's some construction going on so behind the bar was a tarp wall but it didn't affect our experience at all. From the moment you walk in and see the white tablecloths and sparkling glassware you know they pay attention to detail here. It's bright and welcoming and there's plenty of seating at the bar and in the restaurant. Nice patio we'll have to come back and enjoy when it's a touch warmer. We started off slowly with a glass of red sangria and relaxed after a long day. We had the margarita pizza and the chicken parmesan. Both were beautifully crafted, hot and tasty. We ate every bite. I especially enjoyed the Parmesan sauce on the rigatoni which had a light flavor and wasn't gooey or too salty. For dessert the seasonal butter cake was recommended to us by our waiter and the red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberry was every bit as decadent as he promised.
google avatar

Jodi K.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! The calamari is crisp and delicious. To end the amazing meal, tiramisu is a light treat!

Yelp
Great drinks. Great ambience. Great service. Definitely going again for the margarita pizza and alto rossa drink.

Yelp
I enjoyed everything about this place- the food, atmosphere, service, location, etc. There are a number of appetizers that look great but we only tried the Zucca Chips which were very thinly sliced crispy fried Zucchini served up with a creamy pesto sauce. Delicious and addicting! I ordered the Parmesan Chicken sandwich and I expected the regular Italian marinara sauce, but it also had a little buffalo kick to it as well. Nonetheless, it was a great combination and made the sandwich very tasty. I also ordered the side salad with it instead of the french fries. We didn't try dessert this time, but will give it a go the next time for sure. The bar area looks pretty cool, and they have a huge wine selection. There are lots of windows for outside viewing day or night, and the dining room is quite large with a variety of seating arrangements. Our server was very good and came by and checked on us a number of times and took good care of our table. I'll definitely go back and try something else again!

Yelp
It's been years since I have eaten here and thought why not check it out again. Our reservation was at 5pm and we were seated immediately. We started with meatballs as an appetizer. They were huge but not much flavor to them. For dinner, I had the bolognese which is the house specialty. It was so good and can see why it's their house speciality. For desert, the seasonal butter cake did not disappoint. It was a mix of blackberries and lemon. By the time we left, 6:15pm, this place was packed. Highly recommended making a reservation.

Yelp
I've visited North Italia a number of times through various trips to KC, and have always enjoyed the experience. The food is artfully prepared and crafted, the drinks are creative and fun, and the place is always packed. In fact, they recently doubled their space, and it was still nearly packed. Really good Italian food.

Yelp
We made reservations for a Saturday night during restaurant week and the place was slammed. We checked in for our reservation and were seating within 5 minutes, but due to the sheer volume of people seated it did take a while for our server to get to us. Once we ordered however, the food arrived fairly quickly and each course came out at a good pace. The inside is decorated warmly and makes you feel comfortable and at home. We started our meal with the burrata which comes with wine poached pears and grilled ciabatta and the arancini. The burrata was creamy and fresh and I liked the addition of balsamic vinegar, however the ciabatta is a little too heavy for the dish - a thinner bread would work better. The arancini was delicious. It was crispy on the outside, but creamy and cheesy on the inside and the pesto aioli with it was spectacular. We followed that with the pork Milanese and pasta Bolognese. The pork was crispy and the prosciutto, aioli, and salad on top really rounded it out and the different textures were exactly what you would want from a dish. The Bolognese was cooked well and had good flavor, but didn't really stand out from other pasta dishes. For dessert we finished it out with the bombolini and citrus olive oil cake. The olive oil cake was a little dry and low on the flavor side, but the orange curd really helped brighten it up. I could eat the bombolini every day and not get sick of them. They were still hot from the fryer, so soft and pillowy and dusted in the perfect amount of sugar. Overall a very nice dinner.

Yelp
This was our second time here and our previous visits were great. We decided to come here for Valentine's Day since we loved the food from our previous times. The server was great and apologized for waiting over an hour for the food to come out. We had our baby with us and after 2 hours she was no longer going to be okay just sitting there so we decided to take our dessert to go. I was very disappointed to come home and the hazelnut torta was missing the salted caramel gelato. The gelato was the main reason I ordered this dessert. I wish I would have boxed the dessert myself, so I could get the gelato. It was our first time trying out their dessert and was excited for the gelato. I guess we just need to box our own dessert next time.

Yelp
Banana coffee cake was amazing! Pasta was okay, they have lots of options on the menu I would try something different next time. Very busy place make sure you have a reservation!

Yelp
Took the missus here for a birthday dinner. It's a traditional thing. We both always love North. Food is generally hot, fresh, and high quality. Tonight's review is for the service. A+++ 6 star review for Tina. We aren't generally big review people but her service certainly deserves a little shout. Wife and I both commented that it was the best service we'd had in quite some time. Thanks, Tina. You made our family quite comfortable and your extra effort was noted and so so much appreciated. Yelp
The BEST Chix Parm in the city. I got there 20 minutes before closing & they were so nice & respectful That Caesar's salad was to die for. Unquestionably my favorite Italian restaurant in KC

Yelp
Literally our favorite restaurant and we live an hour away. We have tried multiple appetizers and entrees and have never been let down. The staff is friendly, the bar tenders are amazing, and you literally cannot go wrong.

Yelp
Based on positive prior experience, our party of three made a reservation and greatly anticipated a positive brunch- dining experience during the 2025 Kansas City Restaurant Week. Unfortunately, our encounter was greatly disappointing because we waited one hour and twenty minutes for our food to be served. Forclarification, we ordered egg entrees directly from the menu created for KC Restaurant Week. After an initial 45 minutes wait without the appetizer served, the server stopped by to inform us that the kitchen was "backed up" due to the nature of restaurant week. That is understandable. However, we could not understand why tables seated after us had already received their appetizers and entrees. We had not been served our appetizer. The waiter said that he would talk to the manager. He returned and said that the manager would compensate with a "dessert." He graciously asked if we would like to see the manager. We told him that we would appreciate it. Fifteen minutes later one hour wait total at this point), she came to our table with appetizers. When we politely asked what happened, she apologized and informed us that there is no excuse. With inquiry, she said she would "comp" one of our meals and still give a dessert. Twenty minutes later- 2:50 PM, our entrees arrived. At this point, we were out of time and needed to go boxes. I am unclear as to what happened. It is just an overall disappointing dining experience because of the 80 minute wait for food. North Italia has always been highly regarded by us; we hope that this was an isolated incident.

Yelp
Food-5/5 Service-5/5 Atmosphere-5/5 Picture this... it's a nice Friday night and you are wanting to sit out on the patio and enjoy some great food and great company. This is the place to do so! We had an 8:15 reservation and we were promptly seated outside on their patio area. Our server was nice and helped to ensure my food restrictions were accommodated. I started out with the zero proof spritz to drink, and for those of you who enjoy a good mocktail they have several options on the menu! We ordered the truffle bread to start out with and WOW. It was crispy and yet soft with great flavor. We also split the "simple" salad and let me tell you, that was my favorite thing all night. It had fresh great ingredients with a show stopping Gorgonzola vinaigrette... I didn't have time to get a picture because after my first bite I was entranced! I want to go back for everything, but the salad... I will be dreaming of it for days. My entree was the bolognese which was good and I enjoyed the chunks of carrots in the sauce, it made it feel very homey. Overall, I would highly recommend going to North! Chain restaurants can be hit or miss, but this is a HIT!

Yelp
I had Italian farm salad and husband had chopped chicken salad. Both were fresh and tasted good. Was disappointed that a hot bread was not served with salads. It was after 2pm, but it was getting busy. It was very loud with conversations and piped music.

Yelp
A friend brought me to North Italia for my birthday dinner and it was fabulous! I was exceptionally pleased and very grateful to learn about this wonderful restaurant. The food was wonderful. The service was great and the occasion was made so much more special by coming to this restaurant. I highly recommend it!
