North River Tavern

Love the vintage feel of this place! It’s much bigger on the inside than it looks for outside. A variety of video games and pool to choose from. We had an amazing bartender, Emma! Go see her! Food was good, nothing overwhelming. Prices were very reasonable. We can’t wait to go back.

Very good experience overall - glad we stopped in! I think this was once a Steak & Ale or similarly themed restaurant. Apparently they are grandfathered in to allowing smoking in the bar - can’t remember the last time I saw that. It’s a really old place but well-maintained and they have a separate nonsmoking section including restrooms so you don’t have to walk through the smoking section. My wings were excellent and my wife enjoyed her salad. The only odd thing was being out of silverware but we rolled with it. A very good bar food experience overall.

Just had an amazing experience! Those Cajun wings are seriously addictive – perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. But what really made the night was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, making the whole atmosphere welcoming and fun. A special shout-out to Abby, the bartender from last Friday night. She was fantastic, super friendly, and made some killer drinks! Definitely going back soon!

The atmosphere inside was the best part. The service was terrible, being a server/bartender myself I still left over 20% tip, because we all have off days, right?? then she decided to change the tip to over 35%. I called spoke with the manager, he said he would look into it and call me back. Instead of returning my call he refunded my credit card the fraudulent amount.

I ordered 16 wings (a 10-piece and a 6-piece), cooked two times extra crispy, along with double celery and a salad with blue cheese dressing. I even paid for extra dressing, but it wasn’t included in my delivery. To make sure everything was right, I called the restaurant right after placing my order, and the waitress assured me it would be made just as I requested. Unfortunately, what I received were two boxes of soggy wings that were far from crispy and almost raw. I also received carrots instead of celery and no dressing for my salad. I'm really disappointed. The manager confirmed that he could see my order clearly indicated double extra crispy, along with all the celery and blue cheese dressing, but said there was nothing he could do. He told me I would have to go through UberEats to request a refund. I don’t understand why, after the order was placed correctly, I have to spend extra time and energy disputing it and potentially reordering, hoping that it will be cooked properly this time. Meanwhile, I would have to wait an additional 60 minutes or more for cooking and delivery. Reordering would also mean that I lost the coupon that I used for this order. Every time I’ve visited the restaurant in person, I’ve had a decent experience, but my advice is to avoid ordering from them for delivery. It feels like they don’t stand by the orders, and you might end up hungry. I tried to cook them a bit more in the air fryer, but they were still just gross. I just trashed them and went hungry. All it would have taken was a simple gesture of customer service, especially since I was already inconvenienced by having to drive to you after paying for delivery. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider being a customer.

$3 Cafe was full so we decided to try it out. It had been years since I had been here. The service was very good, the wings were good too. The bar area had lots of people enjoying themselves, some even smoking which I didn't know was still allowed but it was well-separated so it didn't bother me. Bathroom could use some updating. All in all, a good experience.

We’ve been coming to NRT for years now, and I used to argue that these were the best wings in Atlanta. I’m not sure if the place is under new ownership or what has happened, but it is just not what it used to be. Our waiter was nice enough, it was his 3rd day. He was trying the best he could. But there were cobwebs all around us that had been there for weeks, there is no doubt about it. That was honestly the grossest part. And the table we were sat at was so sticky, the menus stuck to it and had to be peeled off. They were out of not one, but two of the beers that were the special of the day. The food was good enough. We honestly used to love this place and I’m not sure we’ll be back anytime soon which makes me very sad.

Do not get delivery! I really appreciate you guys NOT sending my dressing with my SALAD. Awesome service. Great job doing a very simple task. Food was very bland. , would have been better with the requested condiments that we paid for. Because of this experience I will not be going in person. I feel like any reasonable company would make sure all orders are made with care- not just those in the restaurant. Update- also made one of us very sick after a few hours. Never again.

When one door closes, another door opens... or so the expression goes. Our regular "Taco Tuesday" place has been On the Border-North Point. For better or worse, (We adored Tim and the team, the prices were good and food fair)... but when we drove up and saw the dining room dark and the sign on the door, we knew we had to find a new Taco Tuesday place. I mean, what's Taco Tuesday at "Wendy's", right? So, my son and I went into our mental Rolodex with the criteria that we needed to stay within a 10ish minute drive of On the Border so we could help all our displaced friends find a new go-to. We'd recently ordered through our Uber Eats this 'new to us' place called "North River Tavern" knowing well and good that bar food is either going to be frozen pizza in a toaster oven or the best damn food ever... and honestly, when it's a mom and pop, the consistency could land each visit anywhere between. But we'd ordered DELIVERY as our first experience. And it was a total freakin hit! My son... shocker... chicken tenders and fries... the same food, different place... Me, I ordered loaded tots... The food arrived that first day, quickly (thanks Uber Eats) fairly quickly, but condensation/styrofoam packaging, a little concerning... eh, 'soggy' We nibbled... with limited expectations. Within about 15 minutes, both our 'plates' were empty! (Sorry, no pics, but it was damn good! Or were we just that hungry??) ---- The next day, we were back at Uber Eats, looking for another new place to order... NEW place, being the key word.... We'd found a taco-ish sounding place... I like Mexican ... like a lot.. haha...and since my adult son eats chicken strips, EVERYWHERE, I have most of the decision making power. :) We decided this new place... but as I was about to hit "SEND".... I remembered the freakin awesome cheese sauce on the loaded tots from 'yesterday' at North Town Tavern.... 'Esc' 'Esc' 'Esc' Thirty ish minutes later, we are eating North River Tavern --- DELIVERY AGAIN.... (Do they put 'something' in that cheese sauce... OMG SO GOOD!!!) ----- Fast forward back to tonight.... Taco Tuesday... I'm so sad for the people we have grown to care much about who work at On the Border who suddenly have no jobs... I hate that the economy impacts any of us in negative ways... so many of us are one freakin paycheck away from being homeless, and we can all learn to be kind to every single person we cross paths with each day. We don't know their story or their journey... That said... my son and I needed dinner... and ... tacos... and margaritas. He suggests, "What about that North River Tavern Place we had delivered? Or Chilis?" "Dial it up on Waze!" I say! He ordered... Yup, chicken tenders and fries, and tots... (yes, two sides, both potatoes... delivery is just one, in person, we could pay the extra $1 to get both! --- WIN!! I ordered the OG tacos, which is, simple English, 3 crispy tacos. These shells are NOT bar shells.. they seem homemade somehow. The tacos have tomatoes, sour cream, and are more 'supreme' than 'og' in my opinion. They were so much better in person than in the 2nd day of delivery, because they were still hot and fresh (minus the 20 min delivery time). I got the chips and salsa as my side dish, but you can get fries, or any 'regular' side dish as your side here. ... remember, you're eating Mexican food at a bar, so you're not stuck with Mexican food... let your fusion taste buds free... go for a side dish of tater tots!! Honestly, after we ate, I walked over to the bar side, and took all these pics... we didn't eat on the bar side, but next side, I'll be bar side for sure. It looks like about 6 sections of fun just waiting for you! Pool, darts, video games, tons of tvs, and seating seems unlimited! The only thing that seems to be missing ... is you! (No, I don't work for them... haha. But, the vibe is so fun, I'm sure it's a fun place to work too). The music on the dining side and bar side both is audible but not nightclub-y. You can still have a nice conversation with your friends as you enjoy your evening!

Neighborhood burger place. Food is decent. Service is OK. I go here on Thursdays when there's burgers are five dollars. I guess it's a hit or miss kind of thing because last time Ali had a really good server. This time I had to ask for water, I had to ask her to go box, I had to ask for plastic for my to go box, I had to ask for napkins, etc., etc..

Friendly and attentive service in a very laid back casual atmosphere. Salad was fresh though mostly iceberg lettuce. Hardly had the salad long before my fish and chips arrived so had to eat that first while it was hot. Fish was three thick sticks supposedly hand breaded. They were quite crunchy and good though I was somewhat disappointed in the fish texture; a little on the dry side probably a bit overcooked. Overall, I very much enjoyed the easy going casual atmosphere and friendliness. The food was decent, not great but I'd probably return again.

I got the hot honey bbq wings and salsa and chips. It was very good. Lots of ranch was delicious! Recommended!

We went fishing on the Chattahoochee River today. We didn't catch anything worth eating (trout) so my husband brought us to lunch at this establishment. I was looking around at the old worn out dark smoke stinky interior thinking it could withstand a good pressure washing inside. But my dh used to work across the street in the tall building and assured me I would like the burgers. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Burger, a special. IT WAS THE BEST DAMN BURGER I EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH! The onion rings are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Fresh and hand made, I could tell. Too bad we live far away (40+ minutes in traffic).

This place has earned the label "dive bar" in the best sense of the word. Beer lovers will appreciate the amazing choices of really good beer on tap. Hard to decide among all the great beers. Food choices are typical bar/restaurant fare - nothing really great and nothing really bad - just good decent food. The parking lot is always packed but there is so much seating and space that the place never feels crowded. A bit of a Cheers bar as there are a lot of regular patrons and lots of familiar repartee among the patrons, bartenders and wait staff. It's just a good, decent "dive bar" and a great place to watch March Madness and sports in general. Glad this place persists and stays in business.

Service and food was complete trash today. I've been here a few times and the food was ok, service never stellar, today all time low. Today we actually waited on ourselves pretty much. Got our own refills from the bar, napkins, straws, silverware. The guy was nice but completely mentally somewhere else and basically basically disappeared. I completely understand and sympathize with servers and their plight, I really do. Long hours, low pay, demanding guests. We get it. But service is service and the fact of the matter is, being busy or overwhelmed should not reflect on how we are treated spending money because guess what, if no one walked in here ever again, all those problems would be solved real quick. On the unemployment line. Things could always be worse than short staff, or a bad day. I won't be back.

The bathrooms were disgusting....I've been told the restrooms are a BIG indication of how the kitchen is kept. Our fries were ice cold. My boyfriends stomach has been upset since dinner. It's too bad because they have trivia and people come to enjoy their night. We will NEVER be back.

The food, the drinks, the staff... all of it is great. For a great value too! It's out neighborhood go to. The food is always great, my kids love it and we have had a great experience every time. It's my husband's and I'd go to for last call after date night. It is an all in one place. I'll post more food photos in the future as I have forgotten to take any cause I'm always eager to eat it when it arrives.

They tend to be better with service when they are slower which is understandable, the food is great and slightly overpriced.

We used to go here sometimes when I was in college. Did anyone get weird vibes in the women's restroom ? I definitely felt a presence in there whenever I went in. It still sends shivers up my spine. I'm sure something happened in there

Nothing like a casual place to grab fabulous nachos, burgers, fries, and anything else on the menu. Service is excellent it's friendly you're always greeted with a smile and it's a very chill and relaxing vibe strongly recommend

Our server was great! Amazing personality, good suggestions and pretty attentive. The food... UFO - Ultimate Fried Onion Greatness!!! Fried onion rings with everything glorious in the world!! Bacon, stuffed with cream cheese, cheeses, jalapeños then deep fried goodness! Drizzled with some type of chili glaze and some pico. Yumm!! I ordered the Kevin Burger. Smoked gouda, bacon, homemade bacon mayo, onion, and lettuce. I added grilled mushrooms and asked for it medium rare. The patty itself was pretty tasteless. I think some places rely on the toppings when it makes a difference with a perfectly seasoned patty. My burger was also well, I didn't see any pink let alone medium rare. Fries were pretty good; Nothing fancy, crinkle fries.

We came here late night on a weekend, and it was pretty busy. There is a smoking and a non-smoking area, and the non-smoking was away from the all the noise. The atmosphere was like a local dive bar/sports bar. Service was slightly slow, but the wait staff was friendly. - Wings (3.5/5): These were pretty good. The sauces were interesting. We ordered hot but didn't get a regular hot flavor, pretty sure we got hot house instead. Still really good, tasted almost like truffle. BBQ flavor was okay - Tavern taquitos (4/5): The taquitos were surprisingly tasty. Reminded me of a flauta, really flavorful and deliciously crispy. - Shrooms (3/5): Pretty good, juicy, good batter. - City chicken (4/5): The chicken skewers were amazing! Love the flavor, chicken was cooked well. The sauce was BOMB, so yummy! Overall pretty good late night food with okay service

I have been going to North River Tavern for 8 years. Bar food is solid, any sporting event your want to watch, even with turnover in that many years everything is consistent. Today, they screwed up an appetizer and then my wrap (I have had probably 30) they burnt the bacon in my chicken wrap! I couldn't finish half of it. The waiter seemed unconcerned but he told the manager which surprised me. Manager said he was sorry and since we closed out our tab all he could do is offer us a free app for the next visit. He and the waiter understood we were leaving to eat, I was hungry. Never again for me.

Dive bar with really good food. Kinda old and run down but the service and food are really good.

I had been traveling since 4 am without much food and only coffee. When I was close to my destination I could not wait any longer. We stopped at North River Tavern thinking ok Bar food it is. I was not expecting great food and above all the great service we received. Walking in I met a gentleman that just had surgery on his foot and was so impressive with his Doctor, he was just wanting to share his experience before meeting up with his college friends as he does weekly for many years at this very Tavern. As we walked in he suggested a couple of things on the menu and off the menu! We truly lead us in the right direction. As we walked in, it seemed as if we were walking into CHEERS from TV land. Every one knew everyone by name. Very warming. We were quick sat down and I ordered immediately at the suggestions from the gentleman and the server! It was a cold and dreary day so Onion soup was the first thing on the list. Followed by the rut special of the day with side items only local know. When the food came out I thought I would never finish the food I ordered . I must tell you the food was hearty and plentiful. I was surprised I ate all. It was delicious and received my meal as it was recommended to me. The restaurant very comfortable and worn in but impressively full. Thank you for the great service and delicious food.

Went on Thursday Trivia night. Had the Triple Bypass burger and it was really delicious, had chips and salsa on the side. Place was clean and comfy, staff were friendly and nice. I really enjoyed and highly recommend the place.

My friend wanted to come to North River Tavern for trivia night. The restaurant was packed and there were some seriously professional trivia players! They were very into the game and seem to come here regularly. It was probably my 2nd time doing trivia, so our team clearly lost. Despite that, the service and food were just OK. Our waitress didn't check in on us much as the restaurant was very busy. We each had the burger and wings to share. They were both good but not the best I've ever had.

It's the best local dive bar in the area for its convenient location, food, and friendly service. It's our Cheers.

Open until 2am! Come here a lot after Hockey. Wings, tots, and cold beer what more do you need. Great for late night munchies.

I have never eaten or been inside of the restaurant itself. I have ordered several UberEats delivery orders due to my physical disability, and when I call the restaurant to ensure they don't salt my thick crinkle cut fries, they always make sure to make them hot and fresh and without seasoning. The burgers I get are juicy; they chicken tenders are fresh juicy meat and not some pounded, processed patty stick like some bars and grills might peddle out to their customers, and their wings are meaty, tender, and missed when their gone. Good job guys. Keep it up!

It wasn't always like this. The food at North River Tavern was delicious and the prices were fair. It was that way since 2018 when I first enjoyed a meal here. A neighbor insisted I check out the wings and to his credit, they didn't disappoint. The service was really good and communication was consistent. Things have changed. I placed an online order last night (7:47pm) with 8:07 pm as the due time. 8:17pm rolls around and I'm getting reassuring smiles and other phrases intended to mitigate the fact that others have already arrived and left their food while I was waiting. 8:24pm comes and my food finally makes an appearance! The fries weren't crispy or crunchy in the least. Quite soggy and undercooked, actually. They felt as if they were cooked, packaged, and left to sit while I sat waiting in the lobby area. The wings were somehow overcooked as if to make up for the al dente fries. This has been a recurring issue for the last three orders I placed. I don't know how we got to to this point. I live two minutes away and i have enjoyed supporting local businesses, particularly during the pandemic. It appears I need to reconsider that position.

Great bar and restaurant! My group of five hungry hikers were very satisfied with our burgers (hiked nearby at Island Ford, see review for more details). I had the blue cheese mushroom burger with side of cold slaw. See picture. Others had different burgers and crispy french fries. All were happy. Am writing this updated review during the coronavirus pandemic. North river tavern is open! We sat outside and pushed 3 tables together to maintain social distancing. Servers were wearing masks. Also open for take out, as one of the guys got a to go order for his wife. Definitely worth a stop and feels great to support local business during this crisis.

Just went to this bar for the first time yes it's a little smoky, but if you like a good dive bar you can't go wrong. It's spacious, the food is great, I had a buffalo wrap and my boyfriend had the tater boat (a ridiculously over the top but delicious option) it was all amazing. Being my first time there I can't speak for them all, but Lala the bartender was attentive and was super knowledgeable of the large beer selection, my boyfriend was very appreciative of that. You can't expect much from bathrooms in places like this, but these weren't that bad. But Lala provided excellent service and we had a great time. Would definitely recommend, the juke box rules!

This was not known before, but this is an excellent choice for a large group lunch. We had fifteen in a room separate from the other guests. My Big E's Ranch Burger with a side of coleslaw was an excellent choice. The burger was jute large, but I managed to consume every bite of it. My lunch was enjoyed! It was very tasty. I will try one of the other selections next time. There are many burger options, as well as numerous other dishes.

NRT is one of my favorite dive bars. Instead of calling in my to go order, I decided to go inside the restaurant to take a look at the full menu. I ordered the Garlic Parmesan wings with fries, and a Pink Lemonade. The wings were so good! The flavor was perfect! The Customer Service from all of the staff members was amazing and the prices are very reasonable. I'll be returning very soon! Had a taste for NRT! I ordered the medium, (light) lemon pepper wings with a side salad. Good customer service and good food! The restaurant was clean, hand sanitizer was available, and there was a QRC code on the table to access the food menu (an alternative to the paper menu). Good experience.

Best local watering hole in the Sandy Springs / Roswell area - down to Earth, great beer and food selection, a super friendly and diverse staff and crowd, lots of games and activities. And the kitchen is open til 1:30am. Perfect spot to unwind among real people.

We ordered North River on Uber Eats and were really impressed! I was craving a classic burger with fries and this tavern hit the spot. Reasonable prices too! Our new go-to spot for good comfort food.

Great burger joint!! We stopped while in Atlanta... just driving by. We were seated right away in a booth. We thought about sitting at the bar, but found smoking was allowed ugh. The servers were so friendly and the food was great.... enjoyed our lunch.

We just moved close by, and wanted to check out the restaurant. We first walked into the bar, and the cigarette smoke hit us in the face. I was surprised they allow smoking, but to each his own. We then went to the hostess to be seated in the non smoking section. We waited about 10 minutes for the hostess to seat us in a half empty restaurant. After seated, we looked at the menus, and the menu looked good. We waited for a waiter for 15 minutes. Wait staff passed our table multiple times, but they would not make eye contact and we could not get their attention. It was not crowded, and we were surprised nobody would acknowledge us or let us know they would be with us. We decided to walk out and go elsewhere. It's a shame that it is so close to where I just moved, yet I will not be back. With the smoking and poor service, there are just too many good options in the area.

Well the recession had me thinking a little thrifty this week, and I had $10 bucks left in my wallet on a Thursday night waiting for TNF. I lookup NRT and saw the Zach Po Boy Special for $11.95!!!! Why Not??!! Best $12 I've spent since I moved to Sandy Springs a month ago!!! OMG!!! The shrimp were well cooked perfectly. and the sauce was extra spicy! The fries were standard crinkle cuts but they were warm and plentiful! If you spent $15 at Wingstop, Arby's, or mickey D's you're a sucker!!! IJS!!! : ))

I secretly love NRT. I mean if you're looking for a chill low-key place to drink on the cheap and get good pub food you're at the right place! I like that it's in the burbs so you know there's plenty of free parking, also it doesn't hurt is close to me. I love coming here on Thursdays because they have $4 captain and a $5.95 burger (with the purchase of a drink) and your choice of side. I always opt for the Big ranch burger, which is a big portion of meat cooked how you want it with Provolone cheese, bacon, an onion ring, lettuce, tomato, and of course ranch dressing. I always ask for extra to dip my fries in. I know what you're thinking it's a bar, so it can't be that great. But actually... it is. Everything I've ever ordered was fresh and hot. I also adore the bartenders, they are really cool and make great drinks!

I'm sure this is a great place but this review is only on what I ate and not the place or experience. Don't get the chicken lil's. It's a boneless wing, about the size of a chicken nugget from Chick-fil-a. Wasn't satisfying at all. The service was great and the menu looked real appealing but I feel that the item description could've been more detailed.

I have to say some of the best food I have tasted in Roswell. My wife got the wings and I got soft tacos. Both were excellent and we are planning on becoming regulars at this place.

I don't live too far from here, and the hubby and I decided to give it a try because we both work crazy hours so this was a good spot to grab drinks and a quick bite! I absolutely love the vibe! EVERYONE was amazing! It was a good eclectic mix of genres, race and culture and everyone was having a ball! It gets super duper busy! We went at around 12:30 am! Bar packed, pool tables packed, and we loved every minute of it. Now, there is not much social distancing, a few mask wearers sprinkled here and there. Food was ok bar food! The hubby enjoyed the appetizer sampler situation, and I had some crazy, ridiculous burger that was pretty good! It is a dive bar so you go for the fun and atmosphere and they definitely have that!

My partner & I only tried this place because we got a deal from another company. That being said, we had high hopes & were super excited to try somewhere new! We got onion rings & jalapeño poppers as an appetizer. Everything was super greasy but the poppers are HUGE and filled to the brim with cream cheese and pretty tasty. We also got a black bean burger & let me tell you right now, DO NOT ORDER!!!! It is a morning star patty, thin as hell, & also came out burnt. I'm sorry, but if I'm paying a restaurant for delicious food, I expect something that isn't frozen and $6 bucks for a 9 pack at Kroger. I might give this place another try but I definitely would never be craving it. Ever.

I have patronized this establishment since it was a Taco Mac (way back in the day) and I always have a great time. On our last visit, we stopped in after having a terrible experience at another restaurant (where we left after sitting around for an hour while our orders were repeatedly messed up) and our server more than made up for the awful experience we had. I wish I knew his name, but he was super nice - even when he told me that the beer I wanted wasn't available AND that they were out of their signature (and super spicy) El Guapo wing sauce (as someone who completed the El Guapo challenge not once but twice, this made me sad.) Our server was also attentive and checked on us to make sure we enjoyed everything, refilled drinks when needed and was just a cool guy. As for the food, the wings are always great here. I had the habanero sauce for the first time and, while it wasn't as face-meltingly hot as I like, it was quite flavorful. The (large) wings were also cooked extra crispy, as I requested. The crinkle cut fries were on-point, hot and crispy as well. My date got a buffalo chicken wrap with the "house hot" sauce - which was described as "hot sauce plus ranch" and it came out a little "ranchier" than expected. Other than that, it was another great meal. One note/wish: this place used to have the most amazing selection of draft and bottled beer. I know, COVID, but I would love to see them bring back a bigger variety of brews. And keep a surplus of El Guapo sauce!

Came up here from Decatur for the "El Guapo" Wing sauce , and I'm SATISFIED . I had to ask for extra sauce BUT the average won't be able to take the heat we had a little mix up with my wife's wing flavor but the manager fixed it right away and had cool convo AND we got "MILKS FAVORITE COOKIE" WITH MY KIDS CHICKEN TENDERS LOL Definitely a good lunch on a good day

Good food but SLOOOOOOOOW. Wasn't our server's fault. She was moving at 100 MPH between tables. They just seem to be pretty short-handed. Have a few more people on the floor and they'd be worth a 5 star rating.

This is my go to spot for late night bites! They have tasty bar food. I usually don't eat there but they have a friendly bar with pool tables. Definitely recommend this place.

I'm a regular at the bar but tonight I had dinner at one of the tables with my brother in law. Our server Sylena (sp?) was outstanding. She greeted our table very promptly. She was attentive and courteous. Our order came out in a timely manner, she offered us refills. Brought the check in a timely manner. Normally I sit at the bar, but she made me reconsider, maybe I'll start sitting at tables more often!

Food & service was quick and great even though the place was busy! There was trivia night going on as we were leaving, didn't get to partake but the environment seemed fun! First time here and I'm definitely coming back! Strongly recommend!

Hidden gem? Old building with charm. Staff is friendly and kind. Lots of items on the menu to choose from. Burgers are delicious. Good beer selection, patio atmosphere is really nice. This is a place to visit repeatedly.

I decided to stop here after work one night to eat, the bar part was rather busy but the dining wasn't busy so we sat down to eat. It took our waitress 20 minutes to even make it to our table to ask for our drinks and appetizer order. I was very disappointed in our app, the chicken was cold and did not look very good. We ate our app and ordered our food. I ordered some pulled pork tacos and she ordered shrimp tacos....the pulled pork had no flavor, and lacked just about everything accept being soggy. I can say with all honesty that this place lacks alot to be desired, from the minute we sat down til we left was almost 90 minutes and there were only 3 tables including ours. So please if you want good food look someplace else, if you want soggy food and poor service well than this is for you.

Poor and very slow service! Drinks and food took forever to come out. Had to ask to at least have the kids food to come out as soon as it was made. Our waitress was very nice, but several times couldn't find her for missing items. After waiting for awhile went to look for someone for the item and only saw someone near the kitchen. Asked for the missing item and was rudely told to "step back" by some guy with a beard. Wasn't necessarily and I wouldn't have to be there if service was better. So to top this all off as we were leaving and my 3 year old nephew went to push the door open. His hand went through a missing pane of glass and he hit his upper lid on a broken piece of wood. Nice cut, it's swollen and looks like he will have a black eye. Waitress could care less. Didn't ask if he needed ice or offer to get the manager. My sister went and found the manager and he really didn't care. Horrible experience, not child friendly, food was very mediocre. Place deserves 0 stars!

So the first time we came here was a bad experience. However, this is now my favorite restaurant of all time! Why not 5 Stars if it's my favorite? Well, if I'm completely honest, the service isn't always on par. We've had some frustrating service, but the food and drinks are always good. The wings are amazing and huge. The ranch is the best ranch ever. The fries are delicious. The turkey burger is good. The nachos are ok (my wife loves them though). The beer selection is good with lots of local options. The smoke stays on the smoking side for the most part, letting you actually enjoy your meal and drinks in the other parts of the restaurant! Just go see how many times I've checked in here! I love it!

Would normally give 4, but went 5 due to unfair reviews given by others. Tavern food is great-burgers and house-made pork rinds in particular. Soup is ok-not standout. Friendly service and easy parking with decent beer.

North River is a pseudo dive bar. I think it is a step up from a full on dive bar. There is a smoking section at the main bar that is quite smokey. There is also a dining section that is non smoking. I find the food here better that the average bar food. Wings are plump and cooked properly to order. They use crinkle fries which is one of my favorites. Get the cheese fries for an extra good yet fatty treat. They have trivia here several nights a week, and it can fill up for that. Parking is plentiful and the staff does a good job. Bar food and drink prices are pretty normal for this type of sports bar. North River is not a family place. It is an adult bar for sports or trivia, or light drinking and maybe smoking if you like. Open quite late too. I give it 4 stars because they are good at what they are meant to be. Nothing more - nothing less.
