Stopped into North Star Deli and it was such a fun experience. It’s like a deli with a little museum inside. Cool North Star memorabilia and the owner has great stories. Super friendly guy. The North Star Deluxe was really good. UPDATE: after my first visit here the wild traded for Quinn Hughes 🚨

I haven’t been impressed with a sandwich in Minneapolis in a while. Finally a spot pumping out great sammies. The Dino was my favorite so far. The modano was good and super fresh as well. Love all the north star decor.

The best hot sandwiches in Kingfield!! This is the hidden neighborhood gem that we all wish we had. We had the Gold Burger, Northstar Deluxe, Herb Brooks Focaccia, & the Zambongi Dip. Totally could have split the sandwiches. But ate the whole thing! Had delightful chat with Pedro, owner. He gets all his bread from 46th Patisserie & desserts from NE Centro. He is mentoring local teens in the service industry. He loves his hockey memorabilia. Highly recommend.

Had the honor of being the first customer to get to try the new chicken parm sandwich! Amazing sandwich with perfectly balanced flavors and generous portions! Added bonus is the chef showing me the North Stars flag that once flew outside Met Center!

This cozy spot, with a few seats inside and a few patio tables outside, was run by a friendly owner who created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Although we were disappointed to find out they were sold out of the sandwich we had ordered, we both thoroughly enjoyed our other dishes. We’ll definitely be back!

Herb Brooks Foccacia was AMAZING! Perfect balance of so many amazing ingredients.$15 may seem pricey but they are huge sandwiches - perfect to share or save for later! Awesome atmosphere, a chill team, welcoming, and I love the self service checkout! So happy to have a 💫stellar💫 deli in the neighborhood!

This was my first visit, and certainly won’t be the last. The Dino Italian Sub was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had, and the staff was so friendly. The food and experience was well worth the price. Can’t wait to come back.

Food: we had the bacon melt and the Herb Brooks Focaccia. The Focaccia was very good with a nice balance. The bacon melt was overly salty with the combination of buckboard bacon and Swiss cheese. The bread was also very soggy and overly buttery. Service: it took 25 minutes to get our two sandwiches. Customers who came in and ordered after us got their food before us. It was disappointing. And the prices on the ordering kiosk did not match what was on the menu board. Atmosphere: it’s crowded as there are only a few inside seating options, and about 5 tables outside. Will this place be 99% takeout in the cold seasons? Overall it was disappointing to spend over $40 on two combos and have to wait so long. It’s been open for over a month and I hope that the operation improves. There’s a lot of potential here that just hasn’t been realized.

Great service, the guy we were talking with was very nice. The sandwiches we got were great! The Herb Brooks was my favorite and my gf loved the Zamboni Dip which came with jus on the side. There are about a 6 or 7 bar stools inside and a bunch of outdoor seating.

North Star is a nice little lunch spot if you're just popping in for a break from a day on the lake. There isn't much seating though, a small window counter and a few chairs outside, so be prepared to take your order right back to your beach towel. I tried the Dino Panino, and all things considered, it was good. Just good, not blow my socks off or "I need to come back for this," but I ate the whole thing and I wasn't even a little upset about it. For the price of 15$ for just the sandwich (add 4$ if you'd like a basic bag of Potato chips and a can of Soda) I was really hoping for something memorable, and if not memorable, very filling. But what you'll get is a basic salami/italian sandwich on a decent bread roll that is done well, and if you ate a large breakfast, you might be full. I'd say, if you live in the neighborhood or you're at the lake and you're in a pinch for lunch, then this might, maybe.... be your go to spot every once in a while. If you have 20$ for a sandwich, then It has potential.

This is a hidden gem in Minneapolis. I had a friend date day and we swung in on a whim. Things to know, this is very self service. Grab your own drink, chips sides etc while they make the rest fresh. I will say that I had to ask for a few things not realizing it was a grab yourself but wasn't inconvenient. I ordered the North Star Deluxe, it was larger than expected and delicious. I love that they support local with the bread from Patisserie 46. They also had Minnesota based sodas to order. You can tell the ingredients are fresh. Outdoor seating is limited and indoor seating is even more so. Plan to maybe grab and go. It's street parking but even on a Saturday it wasn't bad. I loved the fun themed decorations. Don't miss this great local deli!

Ordered the Dino sandwich which contained a slice of eggplant, + Italian meats. Did not disappoint. This is a place to go and try a sandwich you haven't had before..no indoor seating but a few outdoor tables are just fine and fun for people watching

Cozy little spot, not a lot of space to eat inside but outside seating available. Tons of fun hockey memorabilia to look at while you wait for your order. We took it to go and that was smooth! The Cuban sandwich was delicious! The Brussels sprouts were also amazing.

Got the Zamboni Dip. I think it might be the best sandwich I've ever had from a restaurant in MN.

Very small inside, but very cool decor. Very clean, bathroom too! Too hot to sit outside and eat today. The owner is very nice and friendly. The sandwich's are amazing !!! We'll return to try the next amazing sandwich.

Love this new North Star theme deli! Pedro was a great host! Easy to order, food comes out quick. Lots of different sandwiches. I will be back to try each one, they all look really good.

My Bride and I stopped in for a late bite. I had the North Star Deluxe, my Bride ordered the Zamboni Dip. We split an order of Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Everything was perfect. Service was quick. Zero issues. We will undoubtedly be back.

Wow! That muffuletta sandwich was chefs kiss . I only got half and intended to have some for lunch and some for dinner....couldn't put it down! Takeout or eat outside at their tables as inside is tiny. You place your order yourself via a very large tablet. Will be back. Lots of the sandwiches look great, but I'd be hard pressed to pass on the muffuletta.

The sandwiches were amazing. We had the focaccia and also had the BLT. It was quick. It was awesome and I would definitely go back.

Food is great! The chef is so welcoming and easy to chat with. Service is fast and great. Ambiance is one of a kind. Overall great food and awesome deli!
