Twin Cities’ Biggest Restaurant and Bar Openings, July 2025 | Eater Twin Cities

"Chef Pedro Wolcott opened a hockey-tinged sandwich shop decorated with vintage Minnesota North Stars memorabilia. The menu is eclectic, ranging from muffaletta to a smoked salmon BLT, reflecting the owner/chef's nod to hockey culture; Wolcott was previously behind the shuttered Guacaya Bistreaux in North Loop." - Jeffy Mai

Great little restaurant with North Star nostalgia. Food was very good, generous portions. Definitely worth the visit!

I am so disappointed with the food at this place. What I ordered and what I got was completely different. The sandwich looks nothing like the photos in the reviews and its contents didn’t match the description. I wish I could get a refund for these expensive sandwiches and 7.00 small crinkle fries. I wouldn’t recommend this place if the service is the same as I got today.

This was my first time here and I was impressed with the Dino Panino. It was a good size without being too large and was filling and tasted good. They’re still new but 40 minutes for two sandwiches is a long wait from order to first bite. Additionally, the kiosk and menu interfaces need refining - the menu went to a screen saver while I was waiting and there are no descriptions on the kiosk - which is the only way to order. TL;DR - Go here and try it but expect a long wait. I would love to see a local sub shop like this in the neighborhood.

Love this new North Star theme deli, easy to order, food came quick, and tasted good! Pedro was a very friendly host! I had the muffuletta, but I will be back try other sandwiches, they all look so different.

I can only speak for my experience here, and it was great. I ordered the goat cheese and bacon sandwich. It was amazing. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. The wait time was fine (about 10 min). I recommend this local place wholeheartedly. I went on a particularly hot day and was only limited indoor seating.

Google
Cool vibe and solid location, but the food is just okay and the value isn’t there—$19 for a decent sandwich with kiosk ordering and a long wait? Not rushing back, but might try again if they improve.

Just had the best muffuletta I’ve ever had. Great olive mix with a little bit of kick, but not too much. The salmon BLT was super tasty, too. Wasabi mayo was also great without it hitting you too hard.

The turkey Modano sandwich was excellent with lots of turkey and delicious ingredients. It was a good amount of food for the price. I’m not a North Stars fan, so I don’t dig the hockey paraphernalia and the 1980s music. I’m just happy there’s a New Deli in my neighborhood. The service was SLOW, but the owner made an effort to make up for it. The 80’s music was too loud, I guess I’m not a fan of 80’s pop music. Give them a try. I think they’re just getting started and working the bugs out. The sandwich was worth it.

Yelp
Great service, the guy we were talking with was very nice. The sandwiches we got were great! The Herb Brooks was my favorite and my gf loved the Zamboni Dip which came with jus on the side. There are about a 6 or 7 bar stools inside and a bunch of outdoor seating.

Yelp
North Star is a nice little lunch spot if you're just popping in for a break from a day on the lake. There isn't much seating though, a small window counter and a few chairs outside, so be prepared to take your order right back to your beach towel. I tried the Dino Panino, and all things considered, it was good. Just good, not blow my socks off or "I need to come back for this," but I ate the whole thing and I wasn't even a little upset about it. For the price of 15$ for just the sandwich (add 4$ if you'd like a basic bag of Potato chips and a can of Soda) I was really hoping for something memorable, and if not memorable, very filling. But what you'll get is a basic salami/italian sandwich on a decent bread roll that is done well, and if you ate a large breakfast, you might be full. I'd say, if you live in the neighborhood or you're at the lake and you're in a pinch for lunch, then this might, maybe.... be your go to spot every once in a while. If you have 20$ for a sandwich, then It has potential.

Yelp
Cozy little spot, not a lot of space to eat inside but outside seating available. Tons of fun hockey memorabilia to look at while you wait for your order. We took it to go and that was smooth! The Cuban sandwich was delicious! The Brussels sprouts were also amazing.

Yelp
My Bride and I stopped in for a late bite. I had the North Star Deluxe, my Bride ordered the Zamboni Dip. We split an order of Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Everything was perfect. Service was quick. Zero issues. We will undoubtedly be back.

Yelp
Very small inside, but very cool decor. Very clean, bathroom too! Too hot to sit outside and eat today. The owner is very nice and friendly. The sandwich's are amazing !!! We'll return to try the next amazing sandwich.
