Looking to try a new place in Scarborough. Location is in an old coffee time location in highland creek strip mall. Glad some new businesses are coming to an otherwise dead location. Store is small and has some seating although was crowded when I came. I ordered take out an was told 40 minute wait. I can and waited another 10 minutes for packing. This is a halal smokery. The smell when you walked in was amazing and noticed they were A Michelin star restaurant? I ordered a few items - brisket sandwhich, spicy pulled brisket sandwich, pulled beef macaroni cheese and piri piri chicken. The food was interesting. I drove a short drive home and even though the food was freshly packed it was already cold. Brisket was super tender lacked a little flavour. Havarti Sandwich had horseradish and pickles and was ok not my flavour preference. Needed a bit more taste. Spicy pulled brisket was extremely spicy liked the heat but still lacked flavour. Lots of meat in the sandwich. Mac and cheese was abit dry and had a floury taste. Bought the following sides spicy jalapeño corn. The spice profile was strong but lacked flavour - corn needed to be sweeter but was bland. Fries were soggy. Corn bread was ok tasted like corn muffin. Size was huge - I sort of liked it. Overall food was ok. I might choose a meat platter next time to taste the meat without toppings to see the real flavour. Personally I’m not sure it’s a Michelin star worthy but was nice. Meals are a bit expensive but realize meat is expensive too. I think it has potential but needs things to improve for me to truly love it.

It’ll be a big review — but please take it as constructive feedback and connect with the chef to fix it. The place has great potential, but a few issues could really harm the experience. First of all, the service was excellent. Both team members working during my visit were amazing — polite, attentive, and professional. They truly knew what they were doing, and I appreciated their effort. However, the food was below average. Honestly, I felt like I just paid for the meat. Even if I tried making it at home as a joke, I think it might have turned out better. Nothing had real flavor — everything was too bland. The BBQ sauce tasted like a regular store-bought one (very similar to HP BBQ sauce). The brisket was overcooked and not tender at all. The beef tri-tip was the worst — hard, chewy, and completely lacking in seasoning. It even had a gasoline-like aftertaste, which made me think the oven or grill wasn’t cleaned properly. The ribs were also overcooked and not soft. I didn’t even try the chicken — I just took it home, already too disappointed. For sides, I’d suggest skipping the jalapeño corn — it wasn’t worth it. Also, there were flies inside the restaurant, which made dining uncomfortable. I honestly don’t understand how this place received a Michelin Star 2024. I drove all the way from Oshawa after seeing that and had high expectations, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The two guys working there were fantastic, but if the food quality doesn’t improve, the restaurant’s reputation will suffer. Please, talk to your chef — this place has potential, but the food needs serious improvement. I’ve also attached photos for reference.

Been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. Their platter for 1 contains a good medley of flavors this place had to offer. Its pretty reasonably priced and more than sufficient for a person. Love their pulled beef and the cornbread is a must have. If you're eating in, call up ahead to get your name in line and place your order so you don't have to wait almost an hour to get your food after coming in.

I’m writing this as a long-term customer, not a first-timer. I’ve been a Northern Smokes customer since you first opened, and I’ve supported this place from the very beginning. That’s exactly why this review is so disappointing to write. Today, I ordered the Korean short ribs, and honestly, it was absolutely disgusting. There was barely any marinade, and it wasn’t even cooked properly. Korean short ribs are supposed to be flavourful, tender, and well-marinated and, this was none of that. It tasted rushed, careless, and completely off from what this place used to deliver. What’s more concerning is that this isn’t a one-off experience. Over the last 6–7 visits, the quality has been consistently going downhill. Portions feel weaker, flavours are off, and yet the prices keep going up. It feels like corners are being cut while customers are being charged more. Northern Smokes is the only halal smoked meat spot in northeast Scarborough, and it honestly feels like they’re taking advantage of that position, charging whatever they want because there’s no real competition. That’s not how you treat loyal customers. Something has clearly changed. I don’t know if it’s new management, untrained staff, or a shift in how the food is prepared, but this is not the Northern Smokes that built its reputation. The quality, care, and consistency that made this place special seem to be slipping fast. As someone who has supported this brand since the early days, I’m truly disappointed. This isn’t what customers expect from Northern Smokes, and if things don’t improve soon, I can’t see long-time customers continuing to come back. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously and fixes whatever is broken — because this place used to be great, and right now, it’s heading in the wrong direction. Imstead of focusing on why a long term customer didn't like the ribs, you figure it's best to read my Google reviews and point fingers and, tell me to go to other restaurants. No problem. Other customers will soon follow suit, rest assured.

Absolutely loved this place! We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and the food did not disappoint. The brisket was so tender, and the sampler platter was perfect because there was something for everyone to enjoy. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and their recommendations were spot on. We will definitely be coming back. The banana pudding was also amazing and a must try. :)

Drove one hour 20 minutes to this location, place was packed and almost an hour wait time. But once food arrived, It was Worth Every Penny and Calorie. Having lived in seven other countries, this is by far the best smoked meat i ever had. I ordered, meat platter 3 i think, it contained brisket, ribs, baby back ribs, tri tip steak, chicken quarter and chicken wings. When went second time, i only ordered Brisket and Dino ribs only. Ultra soft, incredibly seasoned and deliciously fatty… i understand eating it regularly is not an ideal thing but… as i said… Worth IT!!!!!!!

Would I get the meat plate again? 1000% The pulled brisket is the craziest thing I’ve eaten in a while, I could have a pound of that everyday The regular brisket is fantastic as well. If you’re trying to decide what to get just make sure those are included I like the ribs too but not as crazy for them as the brisket - it’s hard competition Next time I’ll prob get the briskets with Mac and cheese or mashed potato’s - more coleslaw and I’ll be a happy knowing I found some consistent great tasting protein For $30 I’m definitely full and feel like I got the value based on quality of food and quantity of meat

First time checking out Northern Smokes and ordered the sample platter #2. The brisket and short ribs were incredibly tender and juicy, easily the highlight of the meal. The wings were a bit on the smaller side but still flavorful. We ordered the cole slaw and mac and cheese as sides; they were decent, though not as memorable as the meats. The real stars were the sauces, the BBQ and maple-garlic were both 10/10 and tied everything together beautifully. Overall, a great spot for BBQ with generous portions and amazing flavor!

This halal BBQ restaurant definitely lives up to the Michelin guide reputation its been given. It was busy when we arrived Friday evening for dinner - you first order at the front then find a table for them to bring out your food. Definitely bring your friends, and order a family or sampler platter - I can't obviously vouch for absolutely everything on the menu, but the stuff I tried was all delicious, perfectly seasoned, and was a massive portion. I can't imagine a better first impression. Service is definitely "meh" (had to ask multiple times for water and sharing plates), but the food is undeniably delicious. We got the sampler platter 3 (serves 3 easily, four as a stretch), and a brisket sandwich to share amongst myself, missus, my brother and mother. The sampler platter came with two sides, so we picked Mac and cheese, and the mashed potatoes. The sides were both delicious, but the main stars of the show (brisket, Korean short ribs and pork ribs) were the star attraction - the reason why folks would come from far and wide to visit this restaurant. The ambiance is very minimal - almost grungy. The one single-stall bathroom can feel like it's overheating because of a lack of a/c or ventilation in the overall restaurant. Normally in the main restaurant this would be concerning too, but given the openness to the back grill and a large fan, you don't end up getting too much of the residual heat inside - or the "BBQ smell" that you'd normally associate with BBQ places. Anyway it's along old Kingston road. There's a small parking lot that serves the whole plaza that northern smokes is located in - the lot can get quite busy if all of the businesses are open, but we arrived when there were only a handful of businesses still open on a Friday evening.

Service was very good and helpful in menu choices. Ambiance was okay. Clean. The food (meat) was pretty good, not the best. Brisket was delicious, beef ribs mediocre and spicy brisket sandwich was just okay. The disappointment was with all the sides. They were all underwhelming. The Cole slaw was as good as a grocery store counter, macaroni and cheese was terrible, and the mashed potatoes with gravy was so so. For over $100 for lunch this was a miss.

My partner and I specifically drove to this place after seeing all of the wonderful reviews and videos on ig. It's located in a tight plaza with limited parking on the weekend. We had to circle around a few times before getting a spot. As I walked in, I noticed 3 empty tables but they all got reserved signs on it so I opted for takeout. We got the meat plate, the brisket plate with two sides (mac and cornbread), and a pound of the beef back ribs. It was around 1pm when I visited but they already sold out of the burnt ends and the montreal style smoked brisket. I've never had smoked meat like this before but did find the price quite high totalling around 100. Maybe it is just standard pricing. They told me that it would take about 45 minutes for my order to be ready and it took around 30 minutes before they called me. My partner and I hung around the plaza and walked across the street since we didn't want to lose our parking spot before needing to go back to pick up the food. Food thoughts: - Brisket was a bit dry and tough, not sure if we just got the drier cut or not. The barbecue sauce slathered on top made it much better - the meat plate was good to try and sample multiple items, I really liked the pulled pork!! It was juicy and flavourful. The korean short ribs was only okay - beef ribs were pretty good but a bit tough - mac was decent but the cornbread was amazing!! Best cornbread ive ever had. I would go back to just buy it Overall, a decent place with good food. They are constantly busy so that is a sign.

Great bbq smoked meats. Simple place with seating and great meats! Had a good experience there will come back. Service is good too, helped my box up the food I couldn't finish.

I'm always looking to try new places and I remembered my cousin telling me about Northern Smokes a few months ago so off I went. It's located in a small plaza in the Highland Creek area, near Old Kingston Rd and Military Trail. There's nothing special about its appearance, other than having almost all the window shades closed. It wasn't a very attractive look. I actually thought they were closed. The interior was just as sparse, with one wall covered in framed basketball pictures. Ordering is done at the cashier counter and they bring it to your table on paper plates, along with a roll of paper towels. I wasn't too starved so I opted for their burger (8oz) with fries and a drink for $15.00. It was a good sized burger, with decent flavour, but a tad bit overcooked for my liking. The thin fries were good. Oddly though, I don't know why it took around 30 minutes to prepare. That's a bit long for such a simple order. Their Halal menu had beef brisket, beef ribs, chicken, wings, sausages, fries, and more. Flavours included smoked, BBQ, jerk, peri peri, Korean, tandoori, and more. The table next to me had a BBQ platter with several meats that looked and smelled good. Maybe I'll come back to try something like that. Food: 3.5 Ambiance and Service 3.0

Loved this place ! My wife and I were in the area and had heard about Northern Smokes a few times by others. We decided to go there as we were in the mood for some bbq and smoked meat. I'm so glad we tried this restaurant. The interior is nice and spacious and the food is absolutely amazing. The flavour on the meat is just immaculate. We ended up getting the meat platter, a burger and loaded fries. Everything was stunning. The service was also speedy and efficient. everyone was very nice. I'll be coming back soon!

We ordered 2 sample platters for a birthday party. This was our first experience with Northern Smokes. I specifically asked for the fatty, moist cut of brisket but unfortunately we ended up with dry stringy beef that was more like jerky. I gave my feedback to them but never heard back. Worth almost $300 for 2 sample platters? Absolutely not.

Went there after getting high recommendation about their briskets and ribs, but unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations. We had briskets plates, it was too blunt, and korean short ribs. Though it's the standard items, they mentioned it will take 45 minutes, and actually it did!

Got takeout. jalapeno cornbread and corn, beef back ribs. Ribs were fantastic fall off the bone tender and delicious, corn and cornbread were also excellent, only small thing for improvement was that it came with fries which were clearly just the frozen fries you heat in the oven but not terrible. Definitely recommend this place and typically Im someone who doesnt like many restaurants. Wife had a pulled brisket sandwhich which she said was very good.

My wife and I were out one weekend and looking for a bite to eat, so we googled to see what's in the area. We love good food and headed over after seeing other positive reviews. The building may look small on the outside but was full of flavor inside. We walked inside and saw 2 guys enjoying a table full of meat. We chose the sample platter 1 and were not disappointed. Finger licking good is what came after. Highly recommended for carnivores. It says serves 3-4 but my wife and I didn't leave much left for the kids.

Solid authentic Bbq. Hands down one of the best. They use offset smokers where you can smell it from a block away.

This is an Uber Eats delivery review. So until I actually go there in person and dine in/take out myself, I'll leave my review at 4 stars. Honestly, Northern Smokes has been perfection for me. I maayyyyy not be the greatest person to listen to when it comes to this review, as I have only ever tried one other BBQ place. But what I can tell you, is that Northern Smokes was delicious! I had ordered the sample plater #1 from Uber Eats and it was roughly around the $80 mark if I remember, but I had also gotten an extra side, since the 2 it comes with wasn't enough for that night. Everything was excellent. The brisket had to be my favourite and it was superrrr tender and juicy. The brisket could fall apart from you just looking at it, that's how tender it was. Another favourite was the chicken, great flavour and so, so, so moist! Here's the thing that 'might' put people off from Northern Smokes, and it's how much of a 'spicy punch' the meats have. Me personally, I don't mind .... But I have met some people who find the littlest of spice inedible. I think the only thing I didn't really like too much was the coleslaw, but that's a me thing, since I tend to like my coleslaw on the sweeter side. And also the tri tip, but I'm really, really not a fan of tri tip. My husband said it was great though. I'm already planning to go in person and visit Northern Smokes because I have been dreaming of their BBQ ever since that night I had ordered in. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for tender and super punch you in the face flavourful meats!

Texas who? Northern smokes has it all. Even though it's in the middle of nowhere, it's worth the drive because this is hands down, the best of the best. You can smell the bbq till the parking lot, heck, from the moment you drive on the street it's on the scent of brisket hits you hard. Even if you're not that hungry, You're hungry now. The interior isn't anything fancy, and it's paper plates ... Perfect for bbq. Staff are super friendly and quick to help you out if it's your first time with recommendations and advice. There's also a clean washroom in the corner. It is a little chilly inside so dress warm if you're going in the colder months, and eat fast if you don't want it to get cold. But that's ok, you can order more! It's so worth it. I'm usually not keen on places that are cold, but Northern smokes is so good that I don't even care. Melt of the bone ribs, sticky short ribs, succulent brisket, the most flavour some chilli cheese fries and the tastiest apple wood brisket. Wow. Everything is incredible here. They even handcut their own fries!! And the price is insane for the quality of the food! Sandwiches for only 9 bucks?? You've got to have a bunch. I can't get over how good this place is. If I lived close, I'd be there every day.

Looking for barbeque food that's actually good? Come to Northern Smokes! Located in a small plaza tucked away on the side. The restaurant is cozy and has all sorts of signs relating to BBQ throughout their restaurant. Got their ribs with beans and coleslaw. The sauce on the ribs, amazing. The flavour on the ribs, phenomenol. Beans were good and the coleslaw is good too and on the creamier side. Service was great too!

No salat, tomato, onion etc in the beef and chicken burger. Chicken was not well done. Burger bun was soggy because of too many sauces.

I found NORTHERN SMOKES on YELP to meet a dear friend for lunch. He had never had smoked brisket and was apprehensive enjoying it. We both had brisket platters with Mac & cheese, he had fries and I mashed potatoes with (excellent) gravy. the beef was fall off the fork tender. NORTHERN SMOKES' portions were generous and delicious. NORTHERN SMOKES does not have table waiting and has a local diner atmosphere. Great for family and friends. Wish they were in Mississauga!

So I was drive in the area when I could smell BBQ. I saw the sign and accessed their web site. I went for a sampler of their fair. Brisket Mac & Cheese - the brisket pieces were plentiful but the Mac lacked taste. First off it needed seasoning. No salt nor did the cheese have any bite. 2/5 stars Coleslaw Very well done. A regular position is a shareable size for two. 4/5 stars Baked Beans Also well done. In fact I mixed it in with the Mac & Cheese to add some taste to it. 3/5 stars Sticky Toffee Pudding I saw this on the menu and figured I should get it. Now I am sure the fact it was take away meant you can't have a warm pudding and some ice cream and expect it to survive the trip home. I might suggest separating the two. Have a hot pudding and ice cream in a different container. As it stood, a cold pudding and cold ice cream was not what I was expecting. A true disappointment. 2/5 stars Disposable cutlery. Now in this age the disposable fork should be the thing of the past. Wooden ones would be better. The plastic one was horrible. Less than 2 minutes in the meal of Mac the thing warped and was useless. I did see if the same was true for the other fork - same results. Besides for take away. Most people use their own cutlery. -1/5. The side dishes were great. The brisket was certainly worth it but the rest made the meal a hard pass.

I've been getting take out for over a year and now it's time to write a review. Mmmm... NS serves up some seriously good BBQ and we've sampled pretty much everything from their menu from jerk chicken, beef brisket, beef ribs and beef short ribs and you just can't go wrong with their meat. All so good and smokey, I love all the gristle and sinew on the bones. On thing I would choose for improvement is their corn bread as it's always been just ho-hum. I am happy that this place is doing well and hope to return for more massive meat platters for family jams.

The Northern Smokes is located in quite an unnoticeable neighbourhood, our friend saw some good reviews and brought us here. This place is obviously popular as there was a queue just when the restaurant opened at noon. As we brought our fur baby, we couldn't eat in and they set up a table under the tree for our group which was really nice. The servers were polite and friendly and made us feel welcome! We ordered a family platter with some side dishes. The portion was quite generous, the meat was nicely done, juicy, tender and delicious, it's worth the trip. I would want to visit again and I won't hesitate to recommend this place.

This place is awesome and what I really appreciate is how clean this place is usually when you go into a bbq place it's pretty damn dirty, you take a copy of the menu, they have lots of options I didn't try the sides because we got a lot of bbq I'll try it next time, we got beef back ribs, and angus brisket, one pound each, very reasonably priced, and fast and Efficient service, when I took the first bite of the brisket oh my god, it melts in your mouth I would even say this place is better than beach hill and Adamson bbq, their house bbq sauce tastes awesome, it has a tang plus some heat and compliments the meat perfectly and what I like also, they let the meat speak for itself, for ex brisket I've seen bbq places ruin briskets by putting bbq sauce on it, those places should close down and take a lesson from northern smokes on how to cook brisket, I did the pull test this place gets a A+, right amount of spice the rub was excellent p.s best rub for brisket is salat and pepper which this place does they stick to the traditional bbq principles of Texas and don't mess around this place will be a phenomenal success and I'll come back for more

This is a small bbq spot that likely only locals of the neighborhood know about but it was pretty full on a weekday evening. I got the jerk chicken sandwich and enjoyed it, I would recommend asking for extra mayo if you like things less dry. The fries are basically like Mcdonald's fries but better. Would recommend if you're in the area.

I needed mac and cheese and my boyfriend found this place through a Yelp search. Since they were offering delicious looking BBQ too, we decided to make it into a feast fitting for Christmas. They have a great social media team so they we were able to get in contact with them via Facebook and they told us about their holiday hours and how to put in an order online (apparently the system is only available for orders at certain times during the day). We were able to put in an order a few days in advance for pickup on Christmas. When we arrived they were still packing up our order. They told us we could wait in the car and they would bring it out to us which resulted in a great contactless delivery. Before I get into it, the one really weird thing is that nothing we ordered came with a side of BBQ sauce. We ordered a few things a la carte and some things as plates. I think at most BBQ places, especially if you dine in, they often feature their own BBQ sauce and they'll have bottles at the table for you to use as much as you want really. Here we didn't even get a hint of BBQ sauce lol. Anyways it turned out it would be okay since things were flavoured well but if that's what you're expecting, make sure you order a side of sauce. We ordered a lot to try. You really can't go wrong with any of their sides. I saw some reviews that said their cornbread needed some work. I'd recommend heating it up in the oven for a bit since it's a lot better warm. The maple beans had that special touch of sweetness, the Jalapeno corn was really flavourful and not too spicy, and the coleslaw was a really nice palette cleanser between meat courses. I absolutely loved the brisket mac and cheese and the jerk chicken poutine. I probably could have eaten one of those as a main. As for the main meaty courses, I tried the beef rib, corned beef brisket, and normal brisket. The rib was wonderfully spiced but a bit shy of fall off the bone tender. The corned beef brisket was true to taste with a great texture. The normal piece of brisket I had was a little fattier which I prefer and was good but maybe not the most tender I've ever had. Still, really yummy all around with plenty of leftovers!

Halal southern BBQ spot in Scarborough. They really filled a niche market because halal and BBQ is impossible to find. For NYE, we decided to order a $75 Sampler Platter #1 with comes with 3 Beef Ribs, 1/2 pound of Tri Tips, 1 pound of Brisket and two 1/4 Chicken. This also comes with fries and two sides. We decided on Jalapeno Corn Bread and Mashed Potatoes. The main issue was that we placed an order at 5:50pm and they said 30 minutes. We had to pick up something elsewhere so we ended up there at 6:50pm ready for our pickup. It wasn't ready. The place was packed (5+ people) and there was another gentleman who said "I've been waiting since 6pm for my pickup". He was rightfully frustrated. We waited another 5 minutes and paid for the meal. Next, the cashier says "let us know where your car is and we'll bring it out when it's ready in 20 minutes" uhhhh???? So it actually took 50 minutes from when it's supposed to be ready to be actually ready. I think this is absurd given that we called ahead and we were 30 minutes. We picked up our order at 7:10, so 1 hour and 20 minutes after our initial call. Ridiculous way to spend NYE. The meal itself was outstanding but man, the wait time and customer service was lacking by a lot. My favourite was the beef ribs, followed by the brisket. My husband liked the brisket. There's so much leftover that we'll have enough for the next few days for sure! COVID: it's so busy that they have a hard time to manage crowds. I wish someone said "please stand outside, max X number of people allowed". One of the workers masks kept coming down also. They should really work on this!

Good bbq but there's better options out there, fairly priced compared to competitors. Not to say it's not worth the try, it definitely is, I've just had better in the city.

Omg. Best brisket . Awesome menu too: hard to choose between Apple chipotle or regular brisket. Burnt ends are brilliant too

We had the smoked brisket poutine, jerk chicken and smoked brisket mac and cheese The jerk chiggin was kinda spicy (to be expected) and still moist. The poutine was good with the pulled brisket on top. You get a good amount to share between two people. The mac n cheese was dry (not a creamy dish) and needed a little bit more salt and flavour but it had cool shaped noodles (maybe add more salt when you're boiling the noodles). I personally prefer creamy mac n cheese. Some like the dry baked kind A heads up on a few things: When you eat here, you will definitely leave with the stench of the smoke from the bbq on you. (Or some guys might like that). So don't plan to go out after coming here. You will need a change of clothes after and you might even need to shampoo your hair. Instead, call ahead for your order and pick it up, if you can. The price for just 1 jerk leg quarter was expensive at around $7.00. That seems a bit unreasonable. Would be nice if the prices came down. Also it may take them some time to prepare your order, so call ahead to save yourself the wait time. The owners are very friendly and want to do right by their customers. I look forward to trying their other dishes. I recommend this place.

Hidden gem in Scarborough and lucky for me, it's just around the corner from my place! If it weren't for Covid and that one time I went for a walk, I never would've discovered this place. Sirloin Burger - Really delicious burger that was so juicy. You can just tell how freshly made it was. If you're a huge meat lover, you can even add some brisket. Because it was my first time trying the place, I chose to just have a simple one. One thing though is that they didn't ask what toppings I wanted and just put mayo, pickles and I think mustard. Regardless though, it was delicious and the toppings were perfect. Definitely would go back and have this again. 5/5. Brisket Poutine - I normally prefer a classic poutine with just squeaky cheese and amazing gravy but this I had to try. Definitely a must try if you like various kinds of poutine. Was bursting with flavour! Portion is also pretty generous so you can have 2 meals unless you're really hungry. The brisket just melts in your mouth, fries were on point as with the cheese and gravy. 5/5. Brisket Mac & Cheese - Just like my poutine, I like my Mac and Cheese simple but this is an amazing dish. That brisket, man!! It's the truth! Beef Short Rib - One of the best things I've ever tasted. This brontosaurus sized short rib you can tell, was smoked for hours. Their sauce is absolutely delicious and the meat just melted in your mouth. 5/5. Jalapeño Corn - A side option which is perfect if you want a little bit of a kick but not too much kick. It's compliments any stick to your ribs meal. I just wish there was a teeny little bit more of butter. 5/5.

Amazing food and service, very welcoming and they were able to allow us to stay after closing so we can finish eating. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good time with family and friends.

The food is unreal!!!!! Fresh, delicious and portions are great. Discovered them on ubereats and we had such a pleasant experience with their food, we ended up ordering again. This place serves crave worthy bbq! My personal favourites are the beef brisket and bbq chicken.

I'm at a loss for words. The meat literally melted in my mouth. Each bite I took was better than the one before. I felt like I was in the movies. When I finished my meal, it was as if I had woken up from a tantalizing dream, wishing I could close my eyes for just five more minutes. God bless this establishment, and God bless the United States of America for having created smokehouses like this. (We ordered the large mixed meat plate. We ordered 2x of them for about 10 people. My favorite was the beef brisket -- it's slow cooked for 18 hours.)

Our favourite eatery!! Delicious, smokey, tender beef brisket, ribs, burgers - we've tried and love them all! Super nice people serving in an almost camping vacation atmosphere thanks to the scent of hickory smoke!

I AM IN LOVE!!! Tried Northern Smokes for something different and took a chance. I am so glad I did. This will now be my go to for take out. I ordered the Big Burger and towards the end had to ditch the bun so I had enough room to finish the good stuff. Got the Brisket Lean side for my very fussy hubby and it was gone in no time. I'm going back for the burnt ends on a weekend soon. Its one of my favorite foods and if tonight is any indication I won't be disappointed. Thanks Northern Smokes for a great food experience! The menu looked awesome and had a difficult time selecting what I want. The nice lady behind the counter suggested the beef rib. I was delightful surprised. It was a single bone with so much meat around it. I was surprised. It was perfectly cooked, the meat was falling off the bone, there was a nice dark ring showing that it was smoked and not braised. the jalapeno corn and beans where a great side too. Looking forward to going back and trying the jerked chicken. Only one complaint, the bbq sauce bottles leaked out the side. When I went to grab another one, the spout was clogged.

Very bad place. Food is below average and owners are extremely rude. Don't waste your time and especially your money.

Had the brisket poutine and brisket sandwich. Brisket sandwich was ok, was a little disappointed the brisket was pulled in advance to make the sandwich. Poutine was mediocre, fries didn't hold against the gravy, cheese and brisket.

Just found this place for the first time! Rave reviews in this house !! Delicious bbq! We had pulled brisket sandwiches with fries and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was the best we have ever had at a bbq place!! Friendly staff and great service. Five stars from us

I've had similar ribs and brisket at a couple of places in Houston, Texas, and can say that the quality is really good and comparable. It's so good that I don't know what the "northern" angle is supposed to be...

The Beef Brisket was ok, but the peri per chicken was not. The mashed potato was alright, but the creamy coleslaw was too creamy, and I've made better mac and cheese at home. If the prices were cut in half, it would be still too much for the portions you get. Sorry, cannot recommend and will not go back. Save your $$

I've always been a fan of good BBQ, and had no idea this place existed until I saw their ad on IG. We ordered the Brisket Poutine, Brisket Mac and Cheese, and the Sirloin Burger. The brisket was so soft and tender and they weren't stingy with the cheese curds and gravy for the poutine. The burger was juicy and had so much flavour to it. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu especially the ribs and the jerk chicken. The owner was super friendly and I'm so glad to have found such a great local BBQ spot!

Drove from far to try this place and let me say, it was worth the drive. Absolutely delicious! From corn bread to jalapeño poppers to jerk chicken sandwich, it was all so so good. Must try for sure. The beef brisket was so tender and juicy too. Great hidden gem. Wish it was more central.

Authentic southern BBQ cuisine. Great service. One item was missed from my takeout order and the staff went out of their way to deliver the missing item plus bonus items to my door, even though I live far from the restaurant. Very impressed with your service!

I grew up in Texas so I know what real bbq tastes like and I must say I am glad to have found a halal option up here in Toronto that's equally as great as southern bbq! I know I'll be coming back for more!
