Infatuation Editorial Lead Brant Cox's 5 Favorite LA Restaurants Right now

"I’m going to be really transparent right now - I kind of hate picnics. No matter what park or stretch of dead grass you end up in, there’s always a million bugs, chaotic sitting positions, and the same grocery store dip that you didn’t like from the last picnic. That said, I realized that if I wanted to see any of my friends this year, I needed to get over it. With the help of Chainsaw, I have. This Historic Filipinotown pop-up is run by the former pastry chef at Here’s Looking At You (RIP) and a sous chef at Providence and has wholeheartedly made me appreciate eating on the ground again. They do this fantastic $30 lunchbox on weekends that comes with a salad, a dessert, and an insanely delicious pork shoulder sandwich, but don’t get upset if you can’t get one (they sell out fast). Instead, focus on the homemade pies. I understand it’s hyperbolic to say a place makes the best pie I’ve ever eaten in my life, but Chainsaw does just that. And that’s a sentiment that’ll almost certainly be shared at whatever picnic you show up at." - brant cox

4 Exciting LA Pop-Ups Happening This Weekend

"One of our favorite bucket-based pop-ups is heading to Culver City. On Saturday, March 27th, Chainsaw will be bringing a hearty selection of pies by the slice (like double-crust apple date strawberry, a passionfruit icebox we’ve dreamt of many times, ice creams, and summery cocktails) to The Platform as a part of their LA Pop-Up Renaissance Series. The event runs from 12-3pm." - kat hong

LA's Best Dishes: The Infatuation's favorite meals of the week.

"In a city filled with some of the best Korean, Mexican, Armenian, and Ethiopian restaurants around, choosing my next meal can sometimes feel like an impossible task, akin to picking a favorite Dev Patel movie. But other times, it’s quite easy - like when I see a freezer full of ice cream on Instagram then immediately DM Chainsaw. The sort-of-secret Echo Park pop-up has been a favorite of mine for a while now, from their mouth-puckering sorbets to vegan smoked potato sandwiches that arrive on crusty baguettes shipped down in a basket. This past weekend (in additional to literally four different flavors of ice cream), I ordered one of their passionfruit + lime side pies - a heavenly, rectangularly shaped dessert that looks like someone slathered a pan pizza in Salvadoran crema and tastes of tangy citrus mixed with ice-cold graham crackers. Basically, exactly what I wanted to eat during a long, unsuccessful weekend of trying to convince my friend to let me borrow her space heater. -KH" - the infatuation los angeles crew

The store itself was impressive and well-maintained, meeting all expectations. However, when searching for Milwaukee tools, we found that Home Depot offered more competitive pricing.

Great store conveniently located next to I-4. Easy access at the front and plenty of space in the store. Was able to get an item on sale. Sales associate and cashier were very helpful and pleasant. Blue def for the Diesel ⛽ folks . Ford's garage (burger 🍔 place) and Miller's ale house right outside in the parking lot.

The store staff is friendly and polite. the selection is great, and there is something for all aspects of life. If you need a tool for the house, farm or doing some projects around the house, or property they likely have what you need.

Went to Northern tool on the 21st of May. The sales pamphlet said it was a grand opening event with free gifts for the first 100 people. They were going to have free food at 11:00. Just didn't have the time to stay. Northern Tool is one of or the best tool store. Best quality by far. Anything that isn't in the store you can have shipped to the store for free out of the catalog. The store in Lakeland Florida has great hours opening at 7am great for working people. Great selection of Milwaukee and Stihl products.

Bought a Hot water Pressure washer from them, unfortunately it wasn't working properly however Alfredo and his ENTIRE team were so pleasant and enjoyable I feel terrible I don't remember names. They made it right and can't say enough good things. Thank you to everyone.

I purchased an Ultra-Tow aluminum 40in x 48in flat bed trailer and began my modifications. I added 8 bolt-on Stake Pockets, 1x4 wood boards as flooring, side rails with 2 sets of corner lift-off brackets , a lift-off rear gate with 2 sets of security latches. As of the photos, I have yet to Stain/Seal the wood and install the required lighting. I live in a large upscale golf cart friendly community and this fits the bill perfectly. Easy to tow with my Club Cart Precedent and when I need to hit the public roads, I just hook it up to my SUV. I’m very pleased with the cart and how easy it was to modify and also very please with the folk at the new Lakeland FL Northern Tools for the superior customer service. Updated with additional photos now that I’ve stained the trailer to match the Golf Cart.

Hit or miss at this store. More missing than hitting. Staff is poorly trained and uninformed. Service is lacking. Product is good but not the cheapest. They do carry hard to find items.

None of the associate ms are trained. Asked front lanes associate when she offered me a credit card what if any special financing there was with the card and she said “ I think there is some kind of you want it “ I was like no thanks. The manager didn’t want to talk to customers then when he did gave an attitude. Called 800 customer relations and was given the district managers contact info. Left a manager with the district manager to call me at his earliest convienience. Never got a phone call from him. This is a company whom doesn’t want to talk to customers and a company whom doesn’t want go talk to customers is a failing company with a bad sales culture. This starts from the top which is evident from the store’s sales performance as well as the lack of customer service and stems from district or corporate and below. Will not be doing business with this company and if I were others whom are reading this review I would t either.

I bought a generator 18 months ago, it came with a 2-year warranty. The battery died, they said is was excluded from the warranty... so I purchased a new one. The generator quit running so I brought it in for repairs, they charged me a $55 fee to diagnose under warranty (not stated in the warranty anywhere). They called to say that something had gotten through the fuel filter and clogged the carburetor, so we had a discussion about gas. I always use ethanol free gas in my equipment, and add Amzoil fuel stabilizer. They called a few days later saying it was ready so I went to retrieve it. They handed me a bill for $283.24 to fix a generator under warranty saying it was a gas problem. Never did they tell me there was a charge, they provided no estimate for the repair, and they didn't obtain approval to make the repair. Upon return home, I discovered that it ran almost as poorly as it did when I brought it in! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WHRbqwCSwpc BUYER BEWARE!!!
