Where to Eat, Drink, and Watch the Fireworks in Seattle on the 4th of July | Eater Seattle

"A couple blocks from the Bothell parade, I checked out the Food Truck Festival at Northshore Senior Center, which offers face painting, food trucks, bouncy houses and a pie‑eating contest as part of the afternoon activities." - Maggy Lehmicke

Huge!! I didn't make time to check out all the offerings, but it seems very "vibrant", lots of activities and events and an easy facility to get lost in ! :)

On November 12th the Northshore Senior Center band performed at The Creekside to help us honor our veterans. It was fantastic. It included a Lawrence Welk styled program highlighting terrific musicians and singers. There was also several very moving moments as the band paid tribute to our veterans. What terrific community resource. Both the band and of course the Senior Center itself.

First time there today to do an interview for chef position, hoping I get it. But the facility was way more than I thought in a good way, looks like all the patrons were enjoying the place. But if I was a senior in that area I would definitely be a patron of the establishment, highly recommend this place as a great place for senior citizens to go.

Very beautiful peaceful location. Tons of activities for seniors with all levels of physical and mental health. In addition to the Bothell location they have smaller facilities in Kenmore and Mill Creek. Highly recommend checking them out!!

Best place ever to feed my body and spirit. NSSC has been a gift. You won’t be disappointed when you sign up for a class. Happy New Year.

Great Senior Day Program with such fun, caring, helpful caregivers. I feel so confident when my spouse is in their care while I get some much needed time for errands & my self care. Thankful!

The senior center is awesome with many excellent staff and teachers/ group leaders. However, Watchout for Sal at the health and wellness center across the street. He is supposed to assist members in the gym, but he is a mean old bully. He is verbally abusive to members and even handicapped people. Otherwise, the center is great. Sal works Monday, Wednesday and Friday. so skip those days at the gym.

Yelp
It's great Lots of things going on here. They have a great bargain/garage sale 1 or 2 a yr. I think it is one of the largest centers around.

Yelp
I had my wedding in in 8/2008. It gets a 5/5 stars for price but a 3/5 stars for helpfulness and smoothness. The lady who runs the wedding part of the senior center is the oldest lady working there, and it shows. She gets crabby when you ask to many questions. She said she would be there all day, the day of the wedding to help locate things and get the sound system working, but I couldn't locate her and she couldn't help with any questions I had the day of. The venue was lovely, although when we booked the date they didn't tell us there would be a pancake breakfast he morning of my wedding and we couldn't set up until it was over, the lady told us maybe 11:00 but we had food sitting waiting so we had to know a exact time. During the pictures, there was older people walking around the garden area looking, which didn't bother me, but might bother others. If I could do it all over again. I would have the wedding start at 4:00 ( instead of 2:00) so I had more time to set up. I also heard that they later the wedding goes the crabbier the lady gets at clean up time. But you can't beat the price, $100 an hour is awesome, plus a little more for the buffet room rental. The garden was so beautiful in August.

Yelp
I have been a member of the Northshore Senior Center for around 8 years. They offer many classes some free but most they ask that you be a member. have read some of the comments and I don't know anything about rental fees or over charging for water on the floor but as a regular attendee of other functions available at the center it's hard to beat. Maybe in some instances they may fall short but keep in mind these are volunteers, they are not paid. One person complained about crabby lady she encountered when planning for a wedding. During my working life I had to put on my professional face when working in stressful situations so give them a break. If you want to be treated the way you would be treat when working with a professional wedding planner then hire one and pay the price for it.

Yelp
We had our annual fall festival Heidelfest here. Danette Klemens was great to work with on the coordination end, as was the staff the day of. Good pricing, great facility, keep it up Northshore.

Yelp
Do NOT rent this venue's multipurpose room. Cheri, the contact there, has very poor communication and hold back $150 of our $500 deposit because she claimed that there was water on the floor, things in disarray, and our planner didn't check in with her prior to leaving following our wedding. This is absolutely untrue on all counts and an outrageous amount to hold back for what she said she needed to do, which was standard cleaning and reorganization following a major event. I am outraged!

Yelp
The Northshore Senior Center is a great venue to rent. I have personally rented it many times and been involved with multiple events of friends who have also used the facility. We have found the staff to be helpful and pleasant to work with. It's nice to have options of different sized rooms to use at different prices and also access to the large kitchen. In the summer, it's a beautiful place for an outdoor wedding on the courtyard side of the multi-purpose room; or, just having the doors open onto the garden patio adds a nice dimension to the large room. There are plenty of tables and chairs all in good condition. The Senior Center rental fee is very reasonable. Being able to bring in your own choice of food and beverages without being forced to use specific caterers helps reduce the cost of events. Their new instant coffee machine is great for replenishing coffee urns quickly when serving large crowds. I have been in the multi-purpose room when the Senior Center's sound system has been used and it is adequate but if music is a critical part of your event, I would recommend bringing in different equipment. For large events, it is a good idea to encourage carpooling as parking is limited. There is a recent option on the rental agreement of paying $100 for them to handle the general & floor clean-up which is well worth it, in my opinion. My friends and I have very much appreciated have the Senior Center in our area to use. Thank you NSSC!!!
