Made a reservation for my mother-in-law's birthday and came to find out it was also the day of the Kentucky Derby! Their patio, including their recently added seating, was packed as no one wanted to be inside. Despite how busy they were, the staff was very nice and helpful. They only had one table outside to accommodate our group size, which was occupied by a group staying longer than predicted, so the staff legit built a table for us in the parking lot.
They had a guy singing live music (who was very talented and singing all my favorite songs) as well as a projector showing the races on the side of the restaurant building. It kind of felt like a Kentucky Derby party! I ordered a Mint Julip for the occasion. Loved the cool bronze glass it came in. Not my usually drink, but I enjoyed it.
We got a lot of food as a group of 8, I can really only comment on the things near me. For Starters we ordered the Northside Nachos (Cheddar and Jack cheese, pico de gallo, lettuce, and sour cream with your choice of jalapeno honey pulled chicken) and Loaded Tots (Jack and Cheddar cheese, bacon, and sour cream). The nachos were a big serving, but felt it lacked a bit in flavor. I'm not typically a tater tot person, but theirs were pretty good. I really liked the dipping sauce it came with whatever it as.
My husband loves a Reuben, so I was not surprised when that was his selection (House cured and smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, gruyere cheese and Russian dressing on toasted rye. Served w/fries and a dill pickle). I enjoyed a couple bites, it was a good sandwich. The pastrami was very yummy. Their fries were also solid, nicely seasoned and crispy.
After all the starters, I decided to get the Chopped Cobb Salad as my entree (Southern fried chicken, bacon, egg, avocado, tomato and blue cheese crumbles. Tossed in honey mustard vinaigrette dressing). It was a big salad and very tasty. I didn't feel like I was missing out by ordering a salad at all. The fried chicken was well prepared, and the salad was not overdressed with the vinaigrette. Lots of blue cheese and the vegetables fresh. I also love cornbread and theirs was just how I like it.
I have been to Northside 10 a few times when visiting the area and it is always a good choice- something for all tastes and good food.
