Yelp
This is a haven for Akron local artisans and makers, and I fell in love while visiting a few weeks ago. Located in the heart of Akron, surrounded by other local shops, restaurants, and nightlife, Northside Marketplace offers quirky finds, one-of-a-kind goods, and delicious food and drink options.
It's not a large space but it surely packs in a lot to look at and browse through. It's also my understanding that what you may find here one day, could be very different the next. It's sort of a hub for startups in the Akron community. My favorites were a local soap goods company near the entrance. I snagged up some air fresheners for my car and loved smelling their bath bombs, bath salts, and other self-care items. There was also a really cute boutique with great clothes, jewelry, mugs, and knick knacks. I ended up buying a pair of rose gold mood earrings and I love them!! The last item I grabbed before cutting myself off was a beautifully made glass tree ornament. I collect owl stuff and my Christmas tree is full of them. Lucky for me there was a glass owl ornament and I couldn't leave without it.
Everything here is priced pretty reasonably for being local and oftentimes handmade. This is truly a cool marketplace and if I lived in the neighborhood I would definitely enjoy stopping in from time to time to check out the varying makers and get gifts for friends.
