"At Northside Nathan’s, it’s hip to be square. This Detroit-style pizza shop twice-bakes its buttery square crusts. Get the classic Detroit, deep-dish and loaded with sausage, tomatoes, and garlic." - Janna Karel

I’ve been dining here sporadically since it opened, as I used to live just a mile away at Buffalo and Cheyenne for several years. Years later they thankfully opened a second location on W. Flamingo near Ft. Apache, but it unfortunately closed a few years back. But now and then I’ll make the longer trip and get some pizza and a salad. I’ve turned many friends onto this place, and for the money, they’ve got the best Detroit-style Buddy’s-style pizzas in town, even though others have popped up since. Last night was no exception, and I got a pepperoni and green pepper, with sauce on top (Buddy’s style). My only complaint would be this, and it’s a minor one. The lock on the stall door in the men’s room should be replaced, as it doesn’t even obviously look like one can lock it, and the graffiti should be removed (preferably quickly enough every time as to discourage any new graffiti). Other than that, it’s stellar. Keep up the great work. I’d also like to get a t-shirt and/or hat that was promised to me awhile back at the W. Flamingo location. I’d wear them proudly regularly and encourage new patrons for you.

Great little place close to home with the East Coast feel. Obviously, a Detroit experience. Great pizza and service. They have a bar, small but it's there if you want a few select beers, none on tap. And they have a payphone! Doesn't work but a blast from the past.

We used to come here about 10 years ago kind of regularly and just dropped off our routine. We came back today and it's even better than we remembered it. The deep dish pizza with a croissant crust is so good and not as heavy and greasy as we remembered it. Excellent Pizza!

This place's specialty is Detroit style pizza which if you've never had it is cooked in a pan with the ingredients right up to the edge of the crust, giving the cheese in particular a nice caramelized crisp. The crust itself is in-between a thin New York style and a thick Chicago one. They also go pretty heavy on the ingredients, lots of cheese and the like. I personally love them but if you don't like a little grease on the pizza this place might not be for you. Although I've noticed they've started offering thin crust I've never had it so I can't say how it is. The interior is a little on the smaller side but they make the most of it. The atmosphere reminds me of old school pizza joints in the 80s it's on the darker side and it has a few arcade machines and small bar. The service is decent I've never had a bad experience and everyone is friendly.

The service was quick and made correctly. The pizza was delicious, plenty of toppings. It was cooked to perfection, check out my pictures. I would like to eat in as the establishment was nice.

I don't like writing dissapointing reviews like this. But let's start off with the service. First of all there digital screen menu was just rolling to fast. So when I was trying to figure out what I wanted it kept on changing. The cashier said, you know there are people behind you. When I went to the hand menu, all the prices were scratched out? Anyway I got the Guys & Dolls (Guys & Dolls is based in NY, not Detroit which there menu is based on?) a spaghetti with meat sauce and a personal salad and a drink for my daughter. $47.00 and $4 for the beer. I wanted a beer and they said I had to order it at the bar and they would not let me put it on my credit card? So I went to the bar and waited 10 minutes to pay cash for a beer? The food. They brought the salad and the spaghetti and just kind of threw it on the table. The salad was good. The spaghetti was just ok and kind of small for $16. They brought the Detroit style pizza. Not really Detroit style as there were no crunchy cheese going up the sides, not a lot of sauce and I asked for it crispy and it was not. It was just ok. Very disappointed in Northside Nathan's even though I know it's been there for years.

The pizza was great. The antipasto salad was great. And the prices were good. We were there for early lunch so there wasn't much going on but the bar area looks like it would be a lot of fun for a local bar during a busier time. We will definitely order their pizza again.

This place has some GREAT pizza! It’s pretty close to Detroit style, but the crust isn’t quite as thick as I’m used to seeing, and the corners are not quite as crisp. But don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t take anything away from how good it is. The round “thin crust” was also very good. It’s thicker denser dough than your typical thin crust which I definitely enjoyed. I’d love the chance to stop here again!
