Google
Our go to spot for acai/pitaya/coconut bowls when in the area. Walk up and customize for your perfect bowl. There's limited bench seating outside the shop, so best to grab and go. Highly recommended!

Google
After their recent reopening, the shack has gone CHEAP! The bowls look sad and are nowhere near as full as it used to be. If this continues, I will be taking my business elsewhere having been a customer for over 4 years.

Google
The best Açaí bowl hands down! I got a medium Açaí with hemp granola, banana, strawberry, mango, honey, coconut & blueberries. The fruit was incredibly fresh and it was so delish! The prices are very reasonable for the portions and quality of ingredients. This will be a must visit spot anytime I'm in SoCal.

Google
Stopped in for an acai bowl this morning and wasn’t disappointed! The portion was huge! I went with the large and it was so good. I’m super impressed at how much fruit they put on top. Other places don’t give the value you’ll find here. I went with acai for my base and then added peanut butter with granola and fruit. My only complaint is the charge for peanut butter

Google
Listen, Northside Shack has THEE best açaí bowls ever, IMO! I’ve tried a lot of places, and you cannot beat the quality, portion size, or price anywhere else. There’s a multitude of fruit toppings to choose from & they are always fresh, and the açaí itself is flavorful and perfectly frozen. I usually treat myself once a week! Only con at the Point Loma location is the wait, and at the Northpark location the parking lot is tiny. I so wish they had more locations around SD!

Google
This place is a bit spendy. But order online and pick up!!! If you go to grab a quick bowl or Smoothie you will be there 20 min. But these gals serve the very best!!!! They are the Pinnacle of Greatness and serve amazing all morning long!!! If you're in the Area you MUST check this place out!!!

Virgil (Ras-Hype)

Google
The acai bowl was fantastic. I got a small with everything except pineapple, grapes, and kiwi. Quality acai and fixings. They warned me about a 25 minute wait but still... Not worth the wait for me. For an acai bowl?? There were people waiting, maybe 4 or 5 orders before me. But still 30 minutes? Brazy.

Google
First stop from the airport every time I visit San Diego! Best açaí bowls in America 🇺🇸 hands down! 😁 open up in oceanside already!

Yelp
Stopped here for a bowl and loved it! We had dinner reservations at an Italian place for dinner so we were looking for something light and fruit-forward for lunch. The staff (Magdalena) was super helpful and friendly. I got a combo of the three different kinds of sorbet as well as the house works in terms of toppings (fruits, granola, coconut and more). For about $17 (large size), the portion size was incredible! So much sorbet and fresh fruit that they had to put plastic wrap on top to hold everything in place -- pretty legendary in my book! I had to ask for an extra plate to catch the inevitable fruit landslide as soon as I unwrapped it! I liked how it wasn't overly sweet and the ingredients were ultra fresh too. Also got an antioxidant smoothie which was great -- lots of fresh berries, banana and açai, not too sweet either. 100% will be back next time I am in San Diego!!!

Yelp
Delicious smoothies and acai bowls. Acai bowls offer a larger selection of fruit toppings. This place is usually always busy and parking is rough. Besides that, this place is great. Service is always friendly and professional. Your order at the window, there is no inside seating or entrance. They do have benches to sit on outside.

Yelp
I ordered a small acai bowl, and it was delicious! I opted for a coconut and açaí swirl base and it didn't disappoint. The workers here are all super friendly and welcoming, and it was easy to build my ideal bowl because they offer so many items! Everything is cut fresh, so be prepared to wait a few minutes. I didn't mind this, and boy was it worth the wait. The bowl was OVERFLOWING with fruit - they do not skimp you at all. I was pleasantly surprised by this, and it also makes sense since they are $15. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I had to dump out half of the fruit to eat it proportionally to my acai. It felt overwhelming filled with fruit, but this is a good problem to have!

Yelp
I couldn't believe my eyes when I found out I never reviewed this place! North side shack is one of my favorite acai places in San Diego and probably on my top 5 acai joints! It's a really small place that no longer lets you go in, but is perfect for quick pickups and eating by sunset cliffs! I love the flavor of their acai and coconut base and that you can customize to as many toppings as you want! It's super friendly to dietary restriction friends, making it a great place with something for everyone! I don't recall trying the pitaya but a lot of my friends mention that it doesn't taste as earthy as many places tend to make it! Would highly recommend if you re looking for a quick breakfast or snack fix!

Yelp
I'm always on the hunt for a good açaí bowl and I found my go-to spot in SD! The fruits are so fresh and they are very generous with the portions. They have 3 sizes: mini, small, and large and that is the set price you pay. You can pick any fruit/dry ingredients and add as many as you want without any additional charge. What?! This is almost unheard of! You can also pick your base of açaí, pitaya, and/or coconut! You can't go wrong with this place. Parking: they have a very tiny lot so that's usually full when I go. However, I think it's only 20 min parking so people can't just camp there. I try to find spots on the street so I can sit and eat. Everyone is very nice and it's only about a 5 min wait! Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Leilani B.

Yelp
Best acai bowl in San Diego! Hands down! I love this place so much. I love their acai, it's the perfect texture. The fruits are always so fresh and juicy. I drive there even if it's far from my house, and everyone is lovely.
google avatar

Yelp
Cutest hole in the wall açaí bowl place! There is no seating so keep that in mind before you go! Also they are always pretty busy so be prepared to wait. However, their açaí bowls are the best I have ever had. They layer the granola, fresh fruits and açaí in every one of their bowls to make for the perfect bite! So delicious and fresh!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here with the family.... we loved it! The fruit was perfectly ripe and stacked high. Worth every penny. Yummmm
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
A perfect place for a smoothie bowl. My sister took me today to Northside Shack where you can get a mini açaí bowl loaded with fruit for $11! That's honestly such a good deal. They don't have an inside, just a pick up window. We ordered online and it came out very quickly. We ordered: 1x mini coconut base bowl We opted for strawberries, mango, kiwi, pineapple, banana, chia seeds and coconut shavings with honey. It was delicious!! I will definitely come back.
google avatar

Alyssa G.

Yelp
Small window only, no spots for seating. We picked up our bowls and headed to a park to enjoy! Açaí bowl were really good, lots of big fruits and loved how you get unlimited toppings for every bowl. Small size was more than enough for one person. Large is huge!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great spot tucked away in a tiny parking lot. Definitely check the hours before you go; we sneaked in just 15 minutes before they closed at 5pm on a Friday. No line at that point. The place is inviting and cutely decorated and has an easy-to-understand menu and it's clear on the sizes and pricing as well. I ordered a large bowl for $16; you get to choose between three different bases to mix and match from (acai, Pitaya, and coconut something). I asked for everything on it which included an impressive selection of cut fruits and some other toppings like granola. They PACK everything into the container and lid and because the portions are so generous they include a paper plate to catch overflow when you open the lid! The service was so kind and welcoming; they answered all my questions and asked if I needed a bag and extra utensils and also told me how to eat it haha (scoop the fruit out onto the plate so you can pace it out with the blended part!) And the food itself was heavenly! They blend the acai very thick which I love so it doesn't melt and get soupy in the first five minutes like other bowls. Amazing flavor and the fruit is very fresh. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
This cute little shack had great açaí bowls! The line was a little long when I arrived but I didn't wait too long. They were short staffed that day, but they did mention it so everyone knew to expect a wait. Bowl tasted amazing! And a great size for the cost
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
One of the best acai bowls! Service is excellent, staff is super friendly and helpful if you can't decide what you want. There is a bit of a wait after placing your order at the window. I was in the area for a convention for a couple days, and I came here each morning. I opted for the acai with coconut sorbet mix and OMG...acai bowls on another level! Thanks to the other Yelpers who recommended this one. The small is big enough to share but I don't know if you want to because it's too good to not finish on your own lol. This will be a go-to whenever I come to SD!

Yelp
First time here and will be back as often as I can . I enjoy a good fruit bowl and never had an AÇAÍ bowl till now . Excellent and the way they pack the bowl to make sure you are getting everything you pay for is great All fruit is fresh . I had a small bowl and a coco coffee which was excellent as well . Met the owners son when we got there as they weren't open yet just prepping . Super friendly and offered suggestions for things to try . My wife got the Reeses with almond butter and really liked it . Ambiance is nice you sit outside which is preferred in San Diego weather . If you like fruit bowls and smoothies I highly recommend this place and guarantee you will be happy with price , customer service and value . Wife and drove to a place to park and finish ours as there isn't a ton of parking and we didn't want to block others from being able to get in to this place . This is a must go

Yelp
Best açaí bowls in San Diego. Freshest fruit with many options! Only downside - place gets super busy and often runs out of lids mid day and wrap the tops of the bowls in Saran Wrap. Place your order online so you don't wait forever on a weekend there's a large crowd.
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
The most delicious açaí bowls in town. Order online to save time waiting in line. Have tried Acai and coconut base. Both were awesome.

Yelp
I'm so happy I found a solid acai bowl spot in San Diego! I was a little suspicious of their solid five star rating -- it's almost unheard of, but it is absolutely deserving. They set up their shop where you order from outside window. Their staff are super nice and friendly to explain how their menu works. They have some small benches outside for you to sit and wait or eat your food there. The menu is super easy to customize. I always do build my own acai. Each size comes with the same amount of fruit, it's just the amount of acai that changes. Believe me. The fruit sizes are GENEROUS and they find creative ways to jam pack the fruit in there. The fruit is always fresh, the granola never becomes soggy, the acai doesn't immediately melt in soup... it's amazing. They also now started giving you plates with your bowl because they know it's always overflowing with fruit.

Yelp
San Diego is my favorite city in the entire world and also happens to have incredible food. I found this spot on yelp and noticed the beautiful açaí bowls. It was so good that I came back 2 days in a row. The second day, I ordered the oatmeal which was extremely filling. It comes in one size unlike the açaí bowls and I couldn't finish the whole thing, despite being very hungry. The first day, I ordered half açaí and half pitaya. I absolutely loved the açaí and all the fresh fruit. It is slightly overpriced which I've accepted as a California thing. They definitely give you more than you expect though and it's delicious. The girls who work there were also very nice.
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Acai bowls are so amazing and at such a great price point. So much fruit and so many options.
google avatar

Audris T.

Yelp
Loved my acai bowl! Love that you can build your own and most toppings are included. I got half acai and half coconut sorbet, and I think I might have liked the coconut sorbet even better than the acai! Highly recommend this place if you're craving An acai bowl! Love how they package it for you to eat to-go with an extra plate too. There is a small parking lot in front.

Lindsie S.

Yelp
Best açaí bowl in San Diego! Love the order ahead option and love updates. The toppings are fresh AND generous!
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
This was such a good açaí bowl! They really pack on the fruit and toppings which is really nice but the real star of the show is the consistency of the açaí! It was perfectly smooth and creamy- not too liquify or watered down. It was so good, probably one of the best I've had! It takes a while for your order to come out which wasn't a big deal and the customer service was great.
google avatar

Yelp
EASILY THE BEST AÇAÍ PLACE IN SAN DIEGO! All the other reviews say it all. Price = reasonable Portions = SO generous Quality AND freshness = Amazing Service = Friendly and efficient staff! I have visited this location multiple times (have yet to try the other) but my experience has always been nothing less of 5 stars every time. I order the regular açaí with all the toppings. They also package it nicely and provide plates and utensils in a bag when you take it to-go. I appreciate the supply of an extra plate (it's like they KNOW they are generous with the portions and it will spill over). The açaí itself is refreshing and tasty and far from the artificial "chain like" açaí you'd get at a generic açaí place. Fruit is fresh and always ripe. If you want a VIBE: go grab açaí bowls to go and drive or walk a little down towards the water and enjoy at the picnic tables. Perfect for enjoying the sun or a fresh air treat. Location is great. This is THE SPOT and will always be my top (and only, so far) recommendation for açaí to others when coming to San Diego. I look forward to coming back each time. The only "con" is me wishing it was open longer! Sometimes I'd like an açaí during the evening (past 3PM!) Also extra kudos for a solid 5 star rating! It holds true.
google avatar

Diane S.

Yelp
This is the best spot in Point Loma for an acai bowl!! Ingredients are farm fresh and portions are generous. Several flavors and add ons to consider and you will be back again and again to try new combinations! No surprise that there is always a line out the door. Be patient and wait!! Its a small inside space but a sitting area out front! I usually take my bowl right down to the bay to enjoy? Or you can drive just a bit further to the parking lot at Bali Hai which is free and watch the boats sail by!
google avatar

Deb S.

Yelp
If only I lived closer. If only I lived closer. If only... probably one of the best Acai Bowls I have ever had. Deliciously fresh Acai, with fruit cut up right there on the spot after I placed my order. I mean, fresh! It was wonderful, and that honey on top was remarkable. I truly can't imagine what it would be like to stop in here a few times a week. Magic, I guess. Next time I am in San Diego, I'll be there for breakfast every single morning. YUM.

Yelp
My daughter and I were craving something light and healthy and cool for a hot and humid day. She suggested we go here so we did! It's down the street in our Point Loma hood. This business has gotten so popular and for good reason. It started out with a couple employees and they hand cut the fruit and make everything fresh so it can take awhile. Since Covid, they closed the indoors and have a take out window only and expanded the usable space so they can have more employees preparing the orders. Be prepared to wait for your order unless you call ahead or order online. We had four people Ahead of us and we waited about 15 minutes. By the time our order was ready, the line had quadrupled in length. The employees all smile and answer any questions you might have. And I'm always do!! I ordered a large bowl with half coconut sorbet and half açaí with all the toppings. The medium bowl was only $2 less so supersize me! My daughter had the harvest green smoothie with kale and other green stuff. It left a nice frothy residue on her cup so it must have been healthy hehehe My bowl was huge so we saved it and still out some In the freezer when we Got home. We took our treats and enjoyed them at Shelter Island We spent $26 on a smoothie and a large bowl with lots of fresh fruit and granola. You can add Costco peanut or almond butter for extra. Try this if you're looking for the best açaí, pitaya, or coconut sorbet bowls in town. Shaka

Yelp
I got the hot oatmeal with maple and brown sugar. The oats were fresh and good. They are very generous with their portion sizes and fruit toppings (my picture only shows like 1/10th of the fruit and berries given). Will definitely come here to split an açaí bowl with my fiancé. We took ours over towards Belmont park and ate by the ocean. Loved it!
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Stopped here because we were looking for a healthy quick option for breakfast. I ordered an açaí bowl and we took it to the beach to eat and walk. Being able to chose unlimited fruits and toppings to add was awesome! I put bananas, multiple berries, granola, honey, etc. I was worried it wouldn't fit in the bowl or it would be hard to eat without making a mess, but the bowl was perfectly sized. I thought the medium bowl should have been a little lower priced than the large one because that bowl was huge, but overall price wasn't too bad. The strawberries were cut a little too big for my liking, but all the fruit tasted good and fresh. It's nitpicky, but the fork they provided was a little hard to use because it wasn't very hard and it bent very easily. The açaí tasted good and was good consistency to be able to mix the bowl ingredients.

Sugein Z.

Yelp
Small little location but a jem to flavors! No inside seating and parking is minimal.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
Don't believe the pictures. There is nowhere to sit. It's not near the water. And there is nowhere to park. I imagine they have good food but we were not able to try it since we couldn't get to it.
google avatar

Kiana L.

Yelp
We decided to try this place after looking up açaí bowls in San Diego. This place got great reviews and we wanted to try it. The person at the window was super helpful and kind. They explained how the menu works and all the options. It is a smaller place and you order at the window, so we took our bowls to a nearby park to enjoy. So much fruit in the bowl! We would definitely come back again.
google avatar

Denise V.

Yelp
Great find and great service! It is worth checking out if your in the neighborhood and looking for something healthy. Everything is super fresh, the sorbets are delicious (oatmeal is also an option). They fill your bowls to the brim with fruit as well as sorbet. They have smoothie options as well-but haven't made it past the bowls yet.:). I did try the Manuka Honey and Ginger tonic which was very good. Overall a great spot and recommend highly.
google avatar

Yelp
There açaí bowls are amazing! Totally worth the drive from Chula Vista to come gets this treat
google avatar

Yelp
Just wanted to note but this cup is A LOT bigger than it seems on pic. Like they will give you a plate for a large so you can get under the toppings LMAO. So glad I was able to find out about this place cus it's one of (if not) my favorite acai spots FS. Their bases were so smooth and rich in flavor. Definitely would recommend their coconut base. Not sure if it was from the honey or base themselves but I loved it's sweetness. They also had a nice selection of toppings with so many fruits. They tasted so fresh too and not frozen which was nice. Definitely will make the trip to come here again. 100% TRY TRY you won't regret at all.

Yelp
Northside Shack may be one of the top 5 açaí places I've been to in the entire US and I'm so lucky that it's in my backyard of San Diego. They serve smoothies (blends), bowls, homemade protein bars and juices. Not only are they massive, full of fresh fruit and flavor and gorgeous, but they're picture perfect and almost too pretty to eat. Almost. I ordered a small bowl with a base of açaí and coconut sorbet then topped it with granola, honey, chia seeds, pineapple, shredded coconut, blueberries and mango. They are brilliant in the way they put these bowls together because they stack the fruit so high they they give you a special lid to enclose all of it. Then they provide a plate to sit underneath. The trick is to tip the bowl just a little so some of the fruit goes onto the plate and you can enjoy it as a side while noshing on the delicious base you so happened to pick. My husband ordered the same base and added strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, honey and chia seeds. He skipped anything too crunchy since he's sporting a set of braces. I would highly recommend Northside for breakfast, lunch or something portable you're looking to take to the beach or harbor.
google avatar

Arleatta H.

Yelp
Very fresh and large is a large portion fruits very very fresh and juices are very tasty I would go here hands down for my bowl needs and fruit fix
google avatar

Ingrid K.

Yelp
Great acai bowls with generous portions. Located in Pt. Loma. Parking can be challenging and there's usually a line, but totally worth it. No dine-in options. You order at the hill window and sit on one of the benches outside to eat or take it to go.
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
The Acai bowl didn't taste very good. It lacked sweetness and the mangoes were bitter. It took 30 minutes for two bowls to come out since they mistakenly gave ours away to someone else.
google avatar

Sergio G.

Yelp
Definitely a place worth checking out The PB&J smoothie was great and had amazing flavor. The price throws me off a bit but definitely still a great place to try. Also had the detox smoothie and the smoothie was a little uneasy as in flavor. I had it twice and the second twice felt like old veggies or so because it was sour but decent all around. Prices are okay but hard to make a decision as it didn't really catch my attention but the PB&J saved the opinion!

Yelp
Came with my daughter this weekend and was thoroughly disappointed, waited over 45 minutes for 2 acai bowls with no where to sit and wait as it was packed with other people who had been waiting for a long time too, then when we finally received the bowls, I was even more dissapointed to find out its the cheap acai roots sorbet used for all the bases of the bowls as well. Fruit is fresh and good but overall not worth the $14 price tag for EACH SMALL bowl. There is better and cheaper options all over SD, made with the same acai roots products. No wait times were given either, had we known it would have been that long we simply just would not have ordered, there was also only 2 people in front of us upon ordering. My daughter has come many times before as well, and long wait times seem to be a re-occuring issue, people with online orders seemed like they were having the same issues too. It looks like its being ran by a bunch of teenagers that are just a little too overwhelmed, really wanted to like this place but it is just an overall skip for me.
google avatar

Morgan W.

Yelp
Don't miss these bowls! They are delicious and served with great customer service. Pamela and the team at Northside Shack were awesome! I wanted to do a big order for a bachelorette party and they were so helpful! The ordering process was easy, she made sure I had everything I needed and even opened up early to give me my order. The bowls and smoothies were delicious and the entire group was pleased with the quality of the bowls (taste and aesthetics). I will definitely come back next time I visit the area!
google avatar

Erlyne S.

Yelp
Probably the best acai spot in all of Southern California! We got the large which was as huge as my face Two to three people could share this. I love how the acai base was thick and the fruits you can tell are so fresh. Also, all fruits and toppings were already included in an order and you can just choose to remove ingredients you don't like. It makes the ordering process a lot easier. Note that this location doesn't have an indoor seating. There are only few benches outside. If you'd prefer to be indoors, go to their other location!
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Best açaí ever!!!! I literally could eat this bowl everyday. It is pricey, but for me it's 2 meals - and soooo refreshing and healthy! HIGHLY recommend.
google avatar

Jenna S.

Yelp
This place was really nice!! We have never had an acai bowl before, so I was very excited to try it out! The worker was very friendly and helpful with teaching us all about the bowls and how they make them. They are very generous with their servings and all the toppings are included for the one price, if you want them! My fiancé got oatmeal as his base instead of the acai, and it was also very good! The oatmeal was delicious. The wait was a little long, but it wasn't something to complain about as the ingredients are cut right there and it all tasted SO fresh! One minor complaint I had was that I asked for a few fruits to not be included and they were, but it wasn't too big of a deal. The store front is small and they do not have any seating. We also had to park across the street in the bank parking lot (not a tow away zone on Sunday luckily!) Highly recommend if you are into acai bowls, they were very good
google avatar

Lydia S.

Yelp
I'm visiting San Diego and I'm so thankful we found this place! I ordered a mini açaí bowl with half açaí and half coconut sorbet. I like the fact that the price includes everything! All the fruit was so fresh and they portions are generous they even give you a plate so you don't drop all the toppings! The wait wasn't long and it was worth venturing out to eat this. I haven't seen a coconut sorbet option anywhere else but if I go back I will choose my bowl with all coconut! It was so good and the coconut shavings were a perfect topping along with the granola and berries of my choice! Also, the front cashier was so friendly and kind to explain everything since it was my first time coming!

Kimberlee A.

Yelp
Beat açaí bowl EVER! All the fruit and the grapes!! Awe!! They were good. Mango's and açaí sorbet was bomb
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
Ugh this place is a dream! Definitely a hidden gem in SD. This place is take-out only place. There is no indoor seating but there are two small benches tucked in the corner outside. You have a choice of three sizes: mini ($9), small ($14), and large ($16). You choose your base ie. acai, pitaya, coconut cream, etc. and pick which fruit/sweetener toppings you'd like at no additional costs. WHAT?? I ordered the small pitaya bowl with everything and my friend got the acai bowl with select fruit and granola. They were both super refreshing and didn't seem watered down or packed with fillers like apple juice. They're super generous and literally pack everything to the brim. That's why they give you a paper plate for the overflow. Service is amazing and staff members are so friendly and patient, answering whatever questions you may have. Parkingwise, there are a few spotsn in front of this small plaza with street parking as well. Good thing I don't live in SD or I'd go broke coming here everyday! Pricewise, it's a tad little more expensive than my go-to, Blue Bowl, but I'd say order the large and share with a friend. ;)

Yelp
Right after we landed we were looking for juice spots and found this one. Super wide variety of juices. Cashier was really friendly and because they only have one size we ordered two each. He had anti-inflammatory and cucumber fresh. I had cherry citrus and hydrator. It was all very good. I liked cherry citrus least but it was not bad just not my favorite. Great spot for fresh juice.

Nicole C.

Yelp
I had an açaí bowl with strawberries, raspberries, mangoes, blueberries, and bananas. The flavoring was good but the ratio of granola and fruit to açaí was not very good. Wish there was more açaí and the mangoes were not the sweetest. The other fruit were very sweet and good. There's a waiting area but not really a place with tables to sit and eat. When I went the wait time was pretty long for an açaí bowl. Not quite sure if I think it's worth it.

Yelp
Great Açaí spot...but pricing is way too high, 18.00 for a small bowl, $3.00 to add almond butter which was Costco brand. Losing a customer with the price hike!
