Google
This is a cool place both inside and out. All the plants are for sale, it feels like sitting in a greenhouse. Service for just 2 coffees took longer than normal and they were not very busy when we first arrived. That was ok though because the coffee and pastries were good.

Google
Ran out of fresh beans n needed my morning coffee (its morning for me!) LOL, this bougie expresso machine from Breville (thanks bff!) only uses fresh roasted beans (less than 30 days)...so glad Northwest Coffee Co was around the corner with fresh beans! First time there cool spot seems like and the Tanzania Peaberry roast is 🔥🔥!

Google
The ambience is amazing, very cozy and friendly. I like the fact that they use a lamarzocco coffee machine, but the barista can definitely do better job.

Google
It's a cozy spot next to Scarlett's Wine Bar. I imagine the open air format would be great on slightly cooler days. My coffee was decent. Friendly service from staff who genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. My only complaint is that the WiFi was spotty. Not sure if it was a matter of signal strength or if the router was overloaded. Not a place I'd go if I wanted to get some work done - not necessarily a bad thing, as we all need to disconnect from time to time. Definitely a good place to sit and chat with a friend over coffee and pastries on a mild day.

Google
Cute coffee shop. Quite a bit of seating even in winter thanks to a covered patio with heat lamps. We had three coffees and three egg wraps. They have a combo both for 8.50, plus 50¢ for a little dollop of (Costco) salsa. Which we thought was a fine deal (though the salsa was a little eh). The drip coffee was good. You could taste the greenness, it was light roast and very smooth. The egg wraps were yummy, but a little dry and the edges of the tortillas were hard. Almostttt good, just need a fresher tortilla and maybe some cheese or something? The filling was good. The atmosphere on the covered patio was pretty good. They just need to spruce it up a bit with updating the chalk boards. Some string lights or something. The main guy working (owner?) was super nice. This is a good spot, really close to being a great one!

Google
Took a couple trips to this super cute coffee shop while visiting the area for the weekend. The coffee drinks were great and everyone was so kind! Loved the patio and vibe. And dog friendly! 🐾

Google
This place is incredible - drinks, food, and people. This place makes me wish I lived in St. Louis. The chicken salad is the best I’ve ever had. I’m so glad I felt pulled to order it. Though, I’m sure all the other food is amazing as well. The chai is by far one of the best I’ve ever had, and the peach latte is one the best coffees I’ve ever had. The espresso and oat milk were perfect. My boyfriend seconded all of this. We’ve had great coffee in New York City, Louisville, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Austria, France, Spain, and this cafe is a *huge* standout for how wonderful everything is. If we’re ever back in St. Louis, we’ll definitely be back here. Thank you all for such a lovely place.

Trecia D.

Google
I go to Northwest as often as I can, but not nearly enough. I usually get the DELICIOUS bee smoothie and it never disappoints but today I tried the chicken salad sandwich and it is legit THE BEST chicken salad sandwich I have ever had! Very flavorful and unexpected. It is not sure average chicken salad at all. It has curry, olives, spices and clearly magic in it because I can’t wait to grab another one! Well done!

Yelp
My friend and I met up on Saturday afternoon for a little coffee date. It was a rainy day, so our plans to sit on the patio were ruined, but they do have a nice covered patio that made up for it. Parking is easy to find on the street nearby. When you enter, you walk through the covered patio and then enter the main area to place your order. When we arrived, we were greeted by some of the baristas and they even shared a small sample of a smoothie they had just made which was delicious. We looked over the menu and each ordered a medium drink. I had a café au lait and my friend had the chai tea latte. Since it was chilly out, we both ordered hot drinks. When ordering, they confirm with you a type of milk preference which we both appreciated. After paying, they take your name and will call your order when it's ready. We found a table to sit at and just chatted for some time and when our drinks were ready, we picked them up and continued our conversation. This is a great location to hang out with a friend to catch up, but it's also a nice space to work or read if you need a change of atmosphere. I can see myself coming back here since I work nearby and this could be a nice little spot to grab a coffee and work for a bit. They also have some small lunch options so I may need to come back to try something from their menu that is not coffee or tea related! Overall, it was a nice visit and I do want to visit again soon.

Yelp
I love the vibes of Northwest Coffee. They have a good patio but also covered space. I like the benches, I like that I can smell the beans, and more than all of that I like their food and drinks. Haven't ever had anything bad here, sweat to the goddess. I'm also glad they have food options so the caffeine rush doesn't hurt my head haha. It's a great spot to hang out and read, hangout with friends, and enjoy an oasis away from the business of the CWE.

Yelp
My friend and I had a nice visit to Northwest! The space is indoor/outdoor with plenty of seating. I loved all of the cute plants that bring so much life into the space! There was event a plant pop-up by forks & farms where you could purchase plants in the covered seating area. The ordering area is a bit cramped, especially when there's a line. I ordered an iced caramel latte and cinnamon bun. The latte was refreshing and delicious! The cinnamon bun was just okay and took a long time to get to me after I asked for it toasted. Everything else was great!
google avatar

Apurva C.

Yelp
Amazing outdoor vibes and a perfect location to spend a lazy or productive fall morning. My mocha was on point and the baked treats - chocolate chip muffin and blueberry lemon loaf - were delicious. Staff was welcoming. It's interesting that it's next door to the scarlett's wine bar as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a fantastic time visiting this nice semi-open air coffee shop. I loved its space. Getting a parking spot here isn't as easy ad the barrista had me believe when I called ahead for parking info. He had told me anywhere along the neighborhood/apartment area, but space is truly limited. I happened to park next to a patron and he too was trying to figure out if his car would still be there or towed by the time he was done with his coffee. The coffee is good. I wanted the almond latte, but didn't like the sugar free aspect, so barrista was extra kind to make me something else. He made a wonderful dirty Chai, which I savored slowly. I will be sure to return.

Angelina L.

Yelp
How have I never been here?? This coffee shop is such a vibe. I love all the outdoor patio seating and indoor seating. It's super spacious so you have room in there to chat or get work done. The service was amazing. I loved our barista. He helped us chose what to get and was so sweet. I ended up getting a mocha with coconut and it was the best drink I've had in STL. One huge perk is they actually are open late! I can't find any coffee shops open past 1 or 2. Major points to them for that!
google avatar

Mindy P.

Yelp
I absolutely love the vibes here! This is a tiny cafe that doesn't scream cafe from the outside. You have to walk through the greenhouse area with lots of plants, which is a huge bonus. They have a decent amount of seating inside, considering how small the cafe appears. Coffee drinks are reasonably priced, but smoothies there are a pretty penny! Over $10 smoothies are unusually expensive in my opinion, but they do use real fruit. Friendly service and good selection of baked goods.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Love this coffee spot! I wish this coffee shop had been here when I lived locally. The location is phenomenal. The coffee is absolutely amazing! Such a great selection! Excellent single origin selection. There's a peaceful courtyard area and a wonderfully cozy inside to drink your coffee and lose yourself in a book. They do have to go cups if you need to scoot, but do yourself a favor and bring a great book and savor your coffee and maybe snag a snack. Service was top notch! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this coffee spot!
google avatar

Philip M.

Yelp
I don't think they had a lot of selections but it was enough room. Chilly in the winter time. I remember a overhang space heater. I think the transaction up front took a while. Or the service was a bit slower. I did enjoy the experience. I think company took my mind off of observing the shop.

Yelp
From Chicago, first time at NCR with my daughter. Here are my thoughts: --Has a very expansive feel-- a lot of seating indoor and out! Was very busy on a Sunday late morning. --Very warm vibe, met the owner and he was talkative and friendly. --Coffee was good, prices were reasonable. Highly recommended! My favorite coffee shop so far in St. Louis : )
google avatar

Yelp
I came here yesterday to take a call before meeting next door for happy hour. This place always has such a cool vibe- it's authentic, open, and welcoming. Their all weather covered patio is super awesome for sunny days that are a bit chilly (just like yesterday). I drink a lot of coffee and have been trying to change it up a bit. I got a hot chi tea latte and it was so good. It wasn't too sweet and really hit the spot. You can choose from black or green tea, I chose black, as the barista said it is a bit more spicy. I worked a bit in the covered patio and it was great to get some sunshine. I also love their fire pits outside. Great place to chill!

Yelp
Northwest is my go-to neighborhood coffee shop. It is a very walkable area which makes it great to just stop by whenever. They are very dog friendly so I am able to bring my golden retriever and make sure to get her a puppuccino if she has been good. The workers are super friendly and have gone out of their way to remember my name. Overall, the ambiance of the shop is very down to earth and offers great space to sit and chat or grab and go. Particularly, the outdoor space is great for relaxing during the spring. That being said, I think I would have difficulty working on a laptop there as it can tend to be busy. The coffee is solid, offering a variety of different flavored syrups. I typically get an iced vanilla and cherry latte. The pastries are also good as a quick breakfast or snack. Overall, there are other coffee shops in the Saint Louis area that I would go out of my way to go to before Northwest. That being said, Northwest's blend of welcoming workers and overall good vibes keep me coming back.
google avatar

Whitney L.

Yelp
If you enjoy low key customer service and over charged vs what menu says this is the place to go. Manager was too busy on calls to help with items ringing up $4.00 over what's listed on the board. What your receipts!
google avatar

Chloe L.

Yelp
I got an iced latte with whole milk, caramel syrup & English toffee syrup. The taste of the coffee is very unique and delicious. However, I could've just stuck with one flavor since each add on was $0.60. In total my drink was $7.57. The service was quick and there was no line. Such a cute indoor area to sit and work as well. Overall, I recommend this coffee shop and hope to be back!
google avatar

Levi G.

Yelp
I visited St Louis for a work week and wanted to try some of the local coffee roasters. Northwest was by far my fave. Tons of space for enjoying your coffee - there's a cafe-like area right by the roasting drums, and then two patio spaces with ample seating and tables, one that's covered and one that's open to the sky. Truly a beautiful location + the right vibes for me. The two espressos I enjoyed were on point and I picked up some beans to take back to California. Really nice staff too. I'll be back when I return to STL! Thanks Northwest! :D
google avatar

Eddie W.

Yelp
FYI - if you order a big ol' thing of coffee for a group, they loan you an entire airpot (the kind of thing you'd see on a breakfast buffet line) But it's great coffee, super friendly and welcoming staff. Highly recommend

Grace W.

Yelp
Went and ordered a coffee and egg wrap, was very surprised by it being $17 (all of the food prices on the menu were crossed out so I had no idea how much it would be) I got a very cheap/basic latte so I expected a very large wrap. When I received my order my wrap was tiny, definitely a snack not a meal. My coffee was fine, the staff was very nice though.

Ryan G.

Yelp
Great coffee and really friendly staff. We were staying downtown for a work trip and ended up driving here every morning in search of real coffee. Thanks Albert for the hospitality!
google avatar

Marie H.

Yelp
The vibe was chill with lots of outdoor seating. We ordered two coffees, a burrito, and bagels with lox. The burrito was small and very simple with plain tortilla and seemingly pre-mixed filling. The bagel was absolutely delicious but they forgot we ordered it and we had to wait 15 minutes for it. Not the experience we were hoping for.
google avatar

Mo-Ski L.

Yelp
Passing thru St Louis and staying nearby. I avoid Starbucks like the plague and look for good locals. Great coffee. I mean. GREAT coffee and super nice folks. But god damn, the breakfast wrap was fucking awful. You guys HAVE to do better. Giving you 4 stars cause I'm a nice guy.
google avatar

Yelp
Love it here!!! Don't know why it took me so long to visit - and it's black owned!!! But NW coffee is a very Chic yet sustainable coffee shop. Surprisingly, with its location, you could miss it as it's tuckered away next to Blue Strawberry - so I've passed it many times unaware unfortunately. The cafe has lots of seating and they had the fire pit going for patrons who chose the outdoor space. We opted to sit in the indoor patio area which also had plenty of heaters going. Excellent natural lighting. I ordered the Frio with Vanilla - delicious! The staff were great and the service was friendly and timely. If I lived closer by, I would definitely visit more frequently, but I will definitely plan to be back!
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
So cute, quiet, and delicious! So much seating in the building, on the porch, and outside as well! I love the free compost idea instead of throwing it out. My bee smoothie was delicious and the staff were so sweet! Will definitely be back any time I need to work or need a mid day pick me up!
google avatar

Wilda J.

Yelp
Everything is so nice . And the customer service !!! I have a sulfite allergy and they helped me with great options for breakfast I ordered a lunch sandwich too !!
google avatar

Christina Z.

Yelp
Coffee was good and nice open space area with outlets to do work at. There are fans during the summer but otherwise it can get toasty. I'm giving it 4 stars simply because it was $8 for a latte with oat milk and I know I could get cheaper and slightly better coffee at another local spot for cheaper
google avatar

Terrilyn L.

Yelp
Great place to come and chill. The music is great background music whether you envision yourself in your own movie or just to have playing in the background. The coffee is always delicious.
google avatar

Janelle T.

Yelp
I've heard about this coffee shop for a while and was not surprised that not only serve exceptional coffee and smoothies but also actively supports the community. The coffee is rich and satisfying, and I think that coffee aficionados will appreciate. The smoothie I had was refreshing and delicious option for people who don't drink coffee. It was a great time being in the cute cafe or outside in a covered area with bench seating. No picture because I downed the smoothie and coffee expeditiously.
google avatar

Elsa L.

Yelp
This coffee shop has amazing ambiance - you can cozy up in their three season porch as they play some wonderful blues music or enjoy the sun on their large patio where I've always been able to find a place to sit. I usually end up getting a smoothie and a latte which I enjoy. The reason for four stars is it feels overpriced - I walked away after ordering a medium latte and a smoothie with it costing close to $15 (plus tip). But still worth the trip!
google avatar

Blair J.

Yelp
Great little spot for a coffee. While there is no dining room inside, nor bathrooms, there is a spacious, clean, HEATED, covered patio. On a chilly morning, I enjoyed a latte completely comfortably without a jacket. There are even electrical outlets in the patio, making it suitable for working. They have an expansive coffee menu, as well as smoothies, pastries, egg burritos, and a couple of lunch options. Someone with excellent taste in music was playing the tunes on the patio. Great place to stop in, or stay a while.
google avatar

Russ C.

Yelp
Sour That explains the taste of the coffee. - and the experience. Ordered a cortado and an iced macchiato. Both were awful. I knew we were in trouble when the barista had to look up how to make a cortado. Way too much milk. Coffee was unbalanced. It was weak and tasted both burned and sour. Macchiato was similarly weak and burned. For a coffee house on STL bucket list I was very disappointed and would never return or recommend.
google avatar

Natalya R.

Yelp
This coffee shop is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. I have been here twice, and I enjoyed my time here both times. There are plenty of sitting areas, both indoors and outdoors. The covered outdoor sitting area is pet-friendly and has heaters and plug-ins if you want to do school work or hang out while you enjoy our coffee or food. My go-to drink from this place is an iced latte macchiato, and I have ordered their Nutella with strawberry waffles before. The waffle was okay, and it was overpriced. I don't recommend it if you want to get full from a food order. They have other options to choose from.

Bailee G.

Yelp
I ordered a cold brew coffee and a egg wrap. It came out to $15 bucks and the egg wrap was so tiny, and the coffee was horrible. Do not recommend this place to anyone.
google avatar

Justine G.

Yelp
an absolute oasis! the ambiance and atmosphere is unmatched to any coffee shop i've been to. i felt completely comfortable and welcomed by the staff and wish i could spend all my afternoons here with their cold brew
google avatar

Danielle P.

Yelp
What a fun place to sit and gather with friends or alone to get some work done. During the winter specifically on this snow day perfect place to go to be in the elements and stay warm. Their patio is covered and heated. Their outdoor area had a fire going in a fire pit. The coffee! 5/5, as soon as l took a sip l knew l should of ordered a larger size. My Hot Mocha + Hazelnut flavor tasted like a dessert where it would of taking a few sips until you have finished. Love fresh fruit in smoothies this was a winner! Mango, Strawberry, Banana #supportlocal #blackownedbusiness
google avatar

Madhura J.

Yelp
Great coffees, teas and smoothies . They have a covered outdoor seating area with benches and air conditioning. They have warmers and fires outside during winter . They are always were polite and pleasant and when my pugs visit they always get treated with pup cups and pets / scratches .
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
I decided to go here for coffee after Eid Al Adha since it was not far from Masjid Bilal. It was well worth the trip. Since this was my 1st time here,I got something simple: Café au lait( with 2% milk). Excellent choice. Staff was nice. I will be back.

Tom S.

Yelp
I usually like this place but I got there and there's a DJ set up playing a pounding thumping beat that you expect in a disco or nightclub on Friday night. But for a Saturday morning where you're hoping to sit down and have a conversation? WTF? Not possible. We turned around and left. This is a good commerce prevention tactic for sure. If this is their new MO I'll just scratch this off my list of go to places...
google avatar

Yelp
After doing some early morning volunteering near The Central West End, I had time to stop by. It's a delightful and inviting spot to slow down on a cool, damp fall morning to have coffee and a bite to eat. I believe I saw and felt the heat from a wood burning stove in the covered outdoor area. The young man that took my order was helpful and his customer service was superb. The owner was engaged in conversation with a customer and that was nice to see. My coffee, which I believe was a Sumatra Medium Roast, was fragrant and well balanced. I grabbed a egg wrap (burrito with cheese and chicken) as well. It was pretty good and perfect size for breakfast on the go. #foodie #stlfoodie #stlfoodscene #stlcoffee #centralwestend #stlmetrofoodie
google avatar

Wendy E.

Yelp
Bought some holiday coffee beans in this hip CWE joint and had a fun conversation with its owner about jazz and old hi-fi components. I'll definitely return to hang out in the patio when the weather warms up.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
Ordered a whole milk latte medium here to-go. after seeing multiple customers get their orders before mine, i inquired about my order, and they realized they "lost" it. In addition, the price I was charged was higher than the price listed on their chalkboard menu, so I don't think it was accurately updated. They do have rewards tied to your phone number. I found the latte alright.
google avatar

Sara G.

Yelp
Length of roasting matters! Northwest Coffee uses a 1957 roaster. There a#os no computer element! A human has to give your beans all the love! Further, Northwest roasts their beans for a long period of time at low temperature producing a special sweetness!
google avatar

Kasy S.

Yelp
Whew! this was a rough visit. My wife and I were in town for a wedding and visited Northwest Coffee Roasting Company Saturday morning. The space was nice and cozy, despite the chilly wind blowing at the time. From the moment we walked into the shop, we were not made to feel welcome. We didn't notice any sort of sign indicating this, but when we came in, one of the workers yelled out that only one group at a time should be in line, inside... Cool, cool, we can accommodate, but this message could have been conveyed in a more friendly manner. I ordered an egg wrap, macchiato, and cold brew while my wife ordered a latte and one of their leige waffles. Upon completing our order, they let us know that there were a few orders ahead of us and there may be a bit of a wait. Again, no problem! I'll always wait for good coffee. Unfortunately, nothing that we received was worth the wait. The egg wrap wasn't bad, but the tortilla was quite crunchy, as though it had been in the warmer for a while. My cold brew was wholly unremarkable, and my macchiato was never delivered. My wife's latte was fine. When we received our incomplete order after 20 minutes or so, we continued to wait for our waffle. After another 10-15 minutes, we went to check on the waffle to find out that the waffle iron wasn't working right and they had to fix it (at least that was how it was explained to us). After a final 15 minutes, a waffle arrived. It was fine, if overly dense. Overall it was a rough visit, to the point that I walked down the street to get some better coffee before going back to the hotel. I feel for the workers as it doesn't seem like they are set up for success in meeting the needs for the high volume of customers this place receives. I only saw a single espresso machine and a single waffle maker (if there were more, I'll correct this), and there is no way they could turn out the number of drinks and waffles that were being ordered with that setup. It seems like a popular place for groups to get together and study, and there are plenty of large picnic tables that will be great for that, but it wouldn't be a place I would return to.
google avatar

Haleh M.

Yelp
Northwest Coffee is a great study spot with outdoor seating. Lots of wooden picnic tables as well as two seat tables. Outdoor seating has both an area with coverage as well as uncovered seating. The service was great! I ordered an iced strawberry latte that came out perfectly sweetened, not too much not too little. It does hurt my wallet to pay $1.25 extra for oat milk but that's not too different from some other coffee shops. Wi-Fi available and works well. Some outlets available at tables but not a lot of them. I do wish there were some indoor seating options especially during the blazing Saint Louis heat but the fans outside are a nice addition.

Kayla S.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. The outdoor seating in the annex has outlets to work on your laptop which was nice. The coffee was delicious!

Will T.

Yelp
Awesome space. Lots of seating both inside the makeshift building on the driveway and on the extensive garden-like patio. Pastries were delightful. Seasonal lattes were good too; came out too hot to drink though.
google avatar

Heather W.

Yelp
I'm in STL a few times a year for work....and this is my go to spot for espresso & coffee!! Soooo good!
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
Really really love this place. They have a HUGE outdoor space, some of which is uncovered and some is covered and heated. Drinks were good and staff was really nice, but mostly I recommend it for the environment. No problem sitting and working, and there are outlets you can use.
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
Great place to chill and work. Covered outdoor seating area that is quiet. Coffee is fantastic and the staff was very helpful in choosing something I like. I ordered the Casper's cup (iced white mocha with pumpkin) and it didn't disappoint! Definitely a good spot for coffee lovers.

Rose W.

Yelp
Very good hot mocha & cheese pastry. Friendly staff & peacefull courtyard & indoor space to chill.
google avatar

Taquera W.

Yelp
First time in Loves the atmosphere. Limited number of people indoors but heaters around the indoor seating and fires lit outdoors. Staff was very friendly. Coffee was delicious. Enjoyed sitting outside near the fire. Will be back
