Google
Super cute garden with a lot of variety, the plants are reasonably priced and look well cared for. I cannot wait to come back in a month or so to really dive in and find plants to finish off my garden and indoor plant setup. They also have a quaint little coffee shop on premises, the option to get a coffee and walk around browsing is nice. The indoor store area where you check out is so cozy, I just want to grab a book and curl up with the good vibes! ☺️

Well done! I have been visiting local garden centers lately, and Norwood Gardens stands above the rest. It is impeccably designed, the layout is intuitive and the staff and owners are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I prefer to support local family-run businesses, and this one is worth the trip. The owner, Anne, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable – I was able to find exactly what I needed. She went above and beyond. They offer a great selection of herbs, planters, and more. I have a few landscaping projects coming up and wasn't aware they offer a full-service landscape division as well – so I will reach out to Les when the time comes. As another reviewer noted, definitely a hidden gem! And the adorable shop kitten is a bonus! I'll be back… often.

I was excited to check out this place but was super-disappointed. First of all, loved the concept of having a cafe there with seats along the pond to sit and enjoy your coffee. But sadly it’s just terrible coffee and snacks that are super expensive. Our snacks and coffee totaled to about 30$ with tip and taxes. My blueberry muffin was hard and cold and i had to trash it. Our coffees were bad as well. The only thing that was appetizing was the baklava. Having wasted 30$ on the coffee we decided to check out the house plants. There is hardly any selection for houseplants. So we left in less than 10 mins after walking around the shop. There is a tiny greenhouse outside but again, hardly anything exciting. Sadly, never coming back. What a wasted opportunity!

Wow, has this place changed. I love what the new owner has done with the grounds. Gift shop was an added bonus because Christmas is right around the corner. They had a wide variety of indoor /outdoor plants, trees, and shrubs. The quaint coffee and tea shop made some awesome chai tea lattes, and brewed some great coffee today. Go see for yourself 💓

Google
I was searching for a local nursery as I prepared to go full gardener mode on my first home and I sure am glad I stumbled upon this place! The staff are all just wonderful, I had multiple people walk me around and make recommendations based on a few photos I had. Great variety of plants, cute gift shop… can’t recommend enough! The owner was clearly very knowledgeable and lovely too!

Google
Total hidden gem! Amazing selection of not only outdoor & indoor plants but bulk material and local, handmade gifts and garden items. The owners are super knowledgeable and friendly, and their expansion plans are so exciting. 12/10 would recommend!!

Stopped by this past Saturday as I’m new to the area and was looking for a plant spot. I met the owner Anne who spent about an hour with me and was absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable and loves what she does. I recommend anyone in need of plants to go and check it out for yourself. Anne thank you so much for your time, energy and letting me know about the Blossom app. Will be back soon!!!

Google
This is long overdue. I would give 0 stars if I could. I cannot speak to their garden center as I have never been but avoid their landscaping company. They took my money, left the job unfinished, made promises to return and fix it; never did--then ghosted me. I took them to court which was a whole ordeal in itself (spanning over a year) including them ghosting the officers, the court, and then when I finally was able to get him there; lying about the circumstances. Thankfully I had kept all of the communication between us and was able to prove my case. AVOID! THEY WILL CHEAT YOU.

Yelp
This is a great Garden to visit. I really enjoyed the selection of flowers and how well organized the garden is over all. Parking is plenty and an adventure to be had while there! There is a dry bar offering mock-tails that you can purchase as you journey through the garden. Pricing is very reasonable and the staff very knowledgeable and friendly. There is also a small coffee shop located on the property near the lake. The small seating area overlooks a pond - creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere while taking in your delicious drinks and/or food. Definitely worth a visit and will definitely make my way back!

Yelp
This was the cutest place for a Saturday afternoon!!! I wanted to try Sweet Thyme Coffee, and they are only open Fridays and Saturdays. I ordered a medium iced French vanilla latte with almond milk, and it was really good!! It's not one of those lattes that you take a sip and wish you didn't buy it because it was 1. Expensive and 2. Not sweet enough. No, this was pleasantly delicious. We went not knowing what to expect, so I can't wait to come back when we have more time and sit by the pond there. We walked through the vendor area and nursery tents. Beautiful day and beautiful place!

Yelp
This was my first time at Norwood Road Garden and I will definitely return. Parking was easy, drive straight back until you see the parking areas. It's not far from Glenwood and a great place to mill about and plan for your yard or garden. I was on the hunt for a rose bush and went inside the indoor garden center for help. Two staff members greeted me and one came out with me to help me find the rose bush options. I found a beauty and after paying I walked around a little more. There were some beautiful pieces of pottery in many colors. The staff were friendly and helpful and I am definitely coming back!

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite nursery to go to in the Raleigh-Durham area. Going to Norwood Gardens Nursery is not just going and shopping for your plant needs, it is an experience! From their beautiful unique plant selections, coffee shop, farmers markets, indoor garden/home store, greenhouses and friendly staff, everything at Norwood is top notch. The owner and designer (Anne) is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, you will leave feeling like you have just made a new friend!

Ken J.

Yelp
Way overpriced and speak to you like they are an expert in EVERY area on earth, but are far from experts in anything we spoke about- even though they repeatedly told me they were! Read some of their poor reviews on Nextdoor about not even bringing proper tools to a job, and thought they couldn't really be that bad, but as it turns out they are!

Dennis Z.

Yelp
Very practical insight to improving our landscaping with additions to our current shrubs.

Don R.

Yelp
Was looking for deer and rabbits deter any and found the product I wanted for a cost of $39.99. The same product sells at Home Depot and Lowes for $14.99. Be careful of buying from this venue.

Wayne W.

Yelp
An oasis with a diverse selection of plants accessories stone and soil. Extremely well maintained and organized. The staff is knowledgeable and collegial. Just down the road!

Skylah C.

Yelp
Great service and love that they use coffee cubes; peaceful, had seating, great way to start your day

Ginger L.

Yelp
The owners are new to this location, the husband and wife team bought Norwood Gardens last November. First off, the place has the healthiest plants and even though there are beautiful garden accessories and even a small cafe on site, this place is all business! I was looking for stones to create a path to a hot tub and the owner took me out himself and showed me each kind of stone that would work for me (they have a lot!) He even laid out a path idea. Wow. Real service. Super friendly, really beautiful place and they know what they're doing. We are just starting to landscape our old house but new to us. I know where I'm coming to put my garden together.

Joyce L.

Yelp
This is my go to nursery. I've bought stone, mulch and plants over the years. Reasonable price, good selection and helpful staff is the reason I keep coming back.

Scott T.

Yelp
Okay let me start of saying these people are rude this places is expensive and they don't have a very good selection so we ordered Stone they tell us one price they said they had to order it then three days later they jacked the price up if we wanted it on a pallet if we wanted to dumped it wouldn't be $150 they also forgot the crepe myrtle they tried to I give us a crepe myrtle that we didn't order and then try to Jack the price up on that it will be a cold day in Hell before I ever come to this place again I hope this place goes out of business soon I give a suck ass rating

Susan C.

Yelp
Made a trip to Norwood Road Garden to purchase several shrubs. The service was great. Haley...I'm probably spelling her name incorrectly...but she was so knowledgeable, helpful and offered great suggestions. Definitely superior service. Susan CB

Yelp
I highly recommend Norwood Nursery for your landscaping needs. The choice of their plants, trees and evergreens is very impressive. I walked in overwhelmed with what I wanted and their staff is so well trained they were able to help me immediately. A special shout out to Hayley Linder who spent a lot of time explaining to me the various plants and help me with my choices.

David R.

Yelp
I ordered 80 cu. yards of 50/50 from Norwood Nursery. The price was $8.00 less a yard than other suppliers because of the size of the order. I was never offered that from the other suppliers. I signed a paper that would allow them to bring the load to the back of my house and that they were free from fault if they damaged anything underground. I had no problems with them and the delivery guy was knowledgeable with what I was doing to my yard. He offered some suggestions which I used and was fortunate for his expertise. No other supplier offered to go on the lawn with their dump truck. The 50/50 appears to be free of any weeds and I am having grass growing as I write this. I had no problems with them and everything worked out fine. I will continue to do business with them as everyone at Norwood Nursery treated me respect and were courteous.

Yelp
I needed to plant a talk hedge of English Laurel to hide my neighbor after he cut down a bunch of trees in the buffer. I took a drive to Norwood and saw they had the number I needed on hand at a good price. I also had them installed, also at a good price (80% of the price of the tree). They came and properly dug the holes, amended the soil and installed the trees in under 2 hours. I was very satisfied with the results. I deducted a star because they cancelled the first appointment because of weather last week. I didn't think it warranted a cancellation. At least I didn't have to dig the holes.

Yelp
I am so happy that I went with Norwood Road Garden Center for my hardscaping project. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful result and nicer people to work with. I wanted to get a backyard patio put in. I had a lot of useless space and couldn't grow grass because of two dogs. There was always mud puddles right by the back porch after it rained. I had 5 different companies come out for estimates and ideas. I approached Norwood first and liked Michael (the co-owner) so much that I asked him to come back as I had more questions when I had more concerns. Michael not only worked with me on designing the large back patio, but he also advised on so much more. Nico and Christian did an amazing and meticulous job laying out the patio. The entire crew was extremely polite, professional, and respectful. I never had to ask anyone to do anything twice for me. Norwood was the only company that included drainage in the job for the best price (many didn't even want to do any drainage) but, they also were the only company that didn't scoff at any of the tree roots from neighbors' trees that were underneath where the new patio would go. We added onto the job (a large front-side retaining wall and zoysia sod for the back) and there were never any problems at all. Michael and his crew are talented, dedicated, professional, courteous, hardworking, and a pleasure to be around. They left my yard in great shape every night and I never had to worry about gates being left open when I let the dogs out when the crew was done for the day. Michael kept me informed the entire time about deliveries and what was expected for each day. I don't even recognize my backyard, it's so beautiful. Their price was best and the quality of work was above par. I can't say enough nice things about Norwood. I did a lot of work researching and vetting out the hardscapers/landscapers, so take my advice and save your time and money and go with Norwood Road Garden Center for your next project. I'm so glad that I did and they will be the first company I call when I want anything else done.

Yelp
I found this place to be very unethical. They don't have it posted but, they have a no returns policy. I was willing to live with this as I'm generally a pretty go along to get along person but, I felt like everyone just kept telling me what they thought I wanted to hear. If I told them I had shade then "the flower does great in shade" even though the tag said "full sun" and when I pointed to the tag they'd say "oh those can be wrong". If I said that the flower seemed too big, they'd say "how big did you want?" and I'd respond with 3ft to which they'd say "this is perfect" even though the tag said 4-5ft. Even my googling supported the claims on the tag. I mentioned this and they said "it really depends on the area." They didn't seem trustworthy at all. Not to mention that they treated me with a lot of disrespect once I started asking questions. I live in the area and was very happy to have a "neighborhood" garden center but, I will not be going back after I heard them talking about me before the door even closed behind me.

Erin S.

Yelp
All staff wears masks consistently and offers hand sanitizer complimentary. Prices are much more competitive than other nurseries in the area. They also do hardscaping and landscaping services which they come to your house and give you an estimate. Jim, one of the two owners, is very knowledgeable and helpful to customers and has spent hours with me giving me advice for free. Will never go anywhere else!

Cathie R.

Yelp
Made an appointnent for Michael to come snd give me an estimate for landscaping and hardscaping. My appointment was a month out. Ok. A month goes by he comes outand we go over my job. He does ZERO measuring for hardscape, mulch and pinestraw (I have 2+ acres) he puts me on his calendar to get the work done two more months out. Ok. I texted him after a month referring a neighbor to him and asking him when he was coming to measure and firm up my quote. He said he'd look at his calendar. Weeks pass, no text. I call, no response. My job is supposed to begin work on Monday so I text him and he said, " too much to do and not enough hours in the day best wishes to you." THREE MONTHS I waited to get my hardscaping, trees, bushes, plants, mulch and pinestraw and he totally dropped the ball and could care less. The most inconsiderate and unprofessional landscaper. Dont waste your time or money with these guys.

Yelp
I've been going to Norwood Road Garden Center since I moved here 11 years ago. The plants at Norwood are really healthy plants, with a very nice selection. Unlike many stores they keep their plants watered well, so you're not buying dried out plants under stress. I am an avid gardener, and I particularly like unusual plants that are a cut above what you find at Home Depot. The prices are a little higher but the plants and selection are a cut above as well. I also buy their products such as topsoil, fertilizer and grass seed, I've always been impressed with the quality. If you are looking for something other than marigolds and hosta, and you are trying to build beautiful gardens, try them out. They also have hothouses that you can see plants for a longer season.

Taylor M.

Yelp
Two experiences now with Norwood Garden and they have both been great. The people here are friendly, helpful, and appreciate your business. Something you won't typically find in the garden section at Lowes..

Steve G.

Yelp
While visiting my sister in Raleigh, we stopped by Norwood Road Garden to pick up some mulch. We ended up filling up the truck with so many flowers and plants that we ended up having the mulch delivered (thank goodness). Coming from NJ (the Garden State), believe it or not we know a few things about gardens. This is an incredibly large and high quality nursery. The property was absolutely beautiful and we spent almost 2 hours wandering through the grounds and greenhouses. Looking at all the rocks and slate in the stone yard was even interesting. The prices were great and the staff was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. I wish they had a location in NJ!

Robert M.

Yelp
This nursery is very unethical. I pre-purchased a delivery of Pine Straw mid week, with a scheduled delivery for Saturday. When they did not show up Saturday and I called. I was told they are out of Pine Straw. When I made my purchase earlier in the week, they informed me they had enough for my purchase. What they did, was sell the Pine Straw I purchased. That is theft in the least. Save your self the trouble, and don't pre-order anything from them, you may not receive it.

Brian R.

Yelp
They are knowledgeable but they were misleading on pricing- I ended up paying more to have trees planted than I paid for the cost of the actual trees.
