10 Best Brunch Restaurants in Greenville, South Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"The dining room at Nose Dive spills out onto Main Street and is well known for its brunch service. Grits are the reason to head to this Table 301 restaurant. An extensive grits bar is where locals garnish the fluffy stone ground stuff with toppings like roasted tomatoes, red pepper gravy, peppadews, and pepper jack cheese sauce. Saturday brunch is a hot ticket at Nose Dive thanks to Greenville’s Saturday Market. The award-winning farmers market is mere steps outside the restaurant’s door." - Stephanie Burnette

Nose Dive is a fantastic spot with great food and a lively atmosphere. Everything we tried was excellent—especially the Korean BBQ skewers, which were absolutely amazing, and the Brussels sprouts, which were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The only feedback worth mentioning is that my burger was ordered medium but came out well done. While it wasn’t quite how I requested it, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Great food, solid menu, and definitely a place worth visiting in Greenville. I’ll be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We are in town for a comedy show and walked from our hotel to this restaurant. Our waitress, Annie, who was excellent by the way, recommended the Braveheart Burger. I took her up on her suggestion and agree that this burger is very good! The burger comes with grilled onions, cheese and served on a brioche bun. The burger comes with fried but I substituted mine for greens and was glad I did. My daughter had the truffle fries and she tells me they were amazing. This is a restaurant I recommend if you want to hang out and have casual conversation.

Decided on coming to Nose Dive after getting in from a long drive. When I first walked in, the hostesses seemed nice but uninterested. They weren't very warm and receptive, and when I asked how long the wait for a table would be, they told be but waved me toward the bar and said I could sit there, which was totally fine. I opted for the bar, and when I sat, it took a while for the bartenders to acknowledge that I was there. One of the bartenders didn't seem super personable and almost annoyed that I (or she) was there. They offered to let me see a menu, but didn't offer the restaurant wee menu (which is why I was there). I had to ask for it, which I feel they should have provided with the regular menu. I quickly decided on what to eat, and one of the bartenders was incredibly helpful with my food choice, he suggested the shrimp and grits, which was amazing. I also had an espresso martini to drink, which was also really good. Overall, it was a nice experience, just wish the bartenders were a bit more friendly.

I had the pleasure of trying brunch at The Nose Dive in downtown Greenville this weekend. I’ve had their lunch and dinner before, but this was my first time trying brunch , and it was amazing! And the weather was absolutely amazing to sit outside and enjoy downtown Greenville. They have an unlimited grits bar with all kinds of toppings and fresh biscuits. I made one with jalapeño pimento cheese, roasted tomatoes, jams, and pickled vegetables, so good! My daughter had the shrimp and grits, and she stated it was absolutely delicious. The food, the vibe, and the super friendly staff make Nose Dive’s brunch a must try spots in Greenville.

Google
Our first time here and overall was a good experience. I had the grilled cheese sandwich ($14) which was tasty with the Granny Smith apple inside. I would ask them to leave out the caramelized onions next time since they were just white onions not actually caramelized. Nice “cheese pull” on the sandwich though! Inside is quite noisy so we sat outside. Took awhile to get waited on. Water and Diet Coke glasses are small, maybe 6 oz? I didn’t have the Bloody Mary but was impressed with the $4 price as everything else seemed to be pretty high. My husband paid $15 for the grits bar which had cheese and bacon and a few sauces.

We stopped at Nosedive to grab a quick bite before we headed home. I chose Nosedive because I saw that they had a few vegan options there. I ordered the roasted vegetable bowl. It was pretty good. It was full of flavor ; I just wished that there was a little more variety of vegetables and a little less carrots. They have daily specials so my brother ordered the meatloaf sandwich and he thought it was pretty good. Public parking garages and paid parking are in walking distance.

Google
Great southern food. We came for the first time after the farmers market. We had Bloody Mary, skillet breakfast and the waffle and chicken, and a side of grits. Everything was delicious. One of the best waffle and chicken. The waffle nicely crispy and texture accompany with well seasoned chicken. The Carolina hot was good, but the original was tastier. The service was great. We shared the chicken and waffle with side of grits and they split both for sharing.

Google
Came for lunch. The view here is excellent and during nice weather they open the glass windows. Had top tier service from Jordan. Food was great. Highly recommend The Dip! Also had an excellent old fashion. Can’t say enough about the service!

Yelp
We really like this restaurant on Main Street in Greenville. The food is excellent, cooked perfectly and sitting outside people watching is the best way to spend a day. Enjoy a glass of wine, a good meal, and create wonderful memories.

Yelp
This place is always looking booked and busy! We stopped by for a late lunch. The turkey melt was amazing! The pretzels were a great choice for an appetizer. The roast beef dip was delicious and i loved the ability to dip it in a sauce. The Mac and cheese was dry, not cheesy and not worth it. They also took long to get our order out. But pretty good otherwise! The bathrooms are also very far away, but i think it's because it's connected to a hotel. Nothing too special!

Yelp
Excellent food and our server Mina was incredible. The atmosphere's was warm and comfortable and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
The restaurant was fun and trendy! The food was absolutely delicious and our service was impeccable!

Yelp
Wanted to try out this nice looking restaurant attached to a hotel on main street near all the other great dining. The atmosphere is more dim and has a finer dining feel to it. We were sat easily although our waiter seemed sidetracked or not focused on our table really. We were constantly waiting on things. Our drinks took a while and some never came at all so we said never mind. Our entrees were the worst part, I ordered Mac n cheese as I love it. Was told it was large, it was definitely more like a side. Not much to it, nothing to make it stand out as an entree, a big let down and was still left hungry. Unfortunately my friends steak came out rare instead of well. Huge difference there for a chef ran kitchen.... His replacement took so long we got it to go. Needle to say a very awkward dining experience, left us not wanting to return. This place doesn't seem to live up to its fancy attire, as its kitchen is a mess and service not the best.

Yelp
Nose Dive was a little of a let down. I came here for Sunday brunch looking forward to some yummy food and drinks. I ordered the steak and eggs both cooked medium. It also came with potatoes. The meal was just ok.... I didn't love it as much as I hoped. I ordered a pineapple mimosa carafe and I was disappointed in it as well. Loved the $12 price but not the flavor. Very flat. I also had some hazy ipa on draft and I didn't enjoy it much either. The bartender was cool and very prompt in assisting me. I have no complaints on the service. The hostess girls also were friendly upon arrival. This seems to be a very popular, causal downtown spot. The inside has a table top seating and there is also a spacious patio out front. I wouldn't rule out coming here again as it seems to definitely have potential.

Yelp
I have recently discovered Greenville SC and I am a fan! I love downtown and I love good food. This hits on both! The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The server was friendly, she made several recommendations that were spot on for our taste. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Another great time at the Nose Dive. Ribeye - good pinot sauce and taters. Beans boring - but you can sub them. Appetizers came fast. Good Brussel sprouts . Decent Caesar salad. Good service. All in all - always solid here.

Yelp
Dive in to some A-M-A-Z-I-N-G cuisine at the Nose Dive! Our server Keisha was the BEST. The food freshness, quality , and flavor was outstanding. Follow your nostrils to this gem on Main in beautiful Greenville. You're in for treat!

Yelp
Good night out!! This was right next to our hotel and we wanted something simple and delicious. We split the Mediterranean salad--I really liked the mint and orzo--not normally in a salad. We shared entrees, too. I got the chicken sandwich with hot sauce on the side and sweet potato fries--next time I would definitely just have the sauce right on the sandwich--so good!! Spicy and sweet! The sweet potato fries were a real hit, too! My husband ordered the fish and chips--we weren't crazy about the regular fries--they weren't bad, but we would have preferred them a bit crisper. The fish, though, was fantastic!! A lot of places neglect the breading on fish and just sort of fry it, just to fry it. This fish, though, was super flavorful--the coating reminded me of the flavor of the best gas station fried chicken--just the right amounts of salt, pepper--maybe celery salt? The fish itself was soft and flaky, really great! We sat by the open air windows and loved getting to watch the crowds walk by while enjoying the breeze. Finally, our server, Angelica, was really fantastic--she definitely made this a five star experience. She had a bunch of tables, and I noticed that lots of customers were asking for all sorts of substitutions, add-ons, etc, but she handled every single person with such grace and friendliness--she was awesome!! Overall, a really enjoyable evening.

Yelp
Came in on Saturday brunch and they have $4.00 mimosa( orange , pineapple, grapefruit ) or Bloody Mary and they also offer grits bar with biscuits , assorted gravy's , 3 different choices of meat ( chicken , sausage ) cheeses Chicken( moist ) and waffle is delish Grilled cheese is ok Large order of salad is small portion But overall is ok.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great Atmosphere! Mimosa and Bloody Mary special were great for our early brunch! Hosts, bartender, and waitress were all very attentive and pleasant! In addition... Santa was there too welcoming patrons!

Yelp
In town for work and best I can offer is this place is just ok. Everything about here needs a lift. Service was scattered. Food was ok but not great. Drink had to be sent back as it arrived with bits floating in it from whatever the bartender had last made in the shaker. We sat outside cause inside seating, despite lots of empty tables, was a 15 min wait. This time of year it wasn't too hot to be outside for dinner but soon it will be very hard to be outside as the temps rise. Located next to the Westin might make it any easy place for some folks to check out but I would suggest people maybe walk a little to find a better meal in downtown.

Yelp
We picked this spot for brunch because it has a dog friendly patio and a dog menu! The staff were very accommodating and friendly with our dog and got him a bowl of water to go with his chicken. For the humans, we tried the pretzels and cheese, macaroni with bbq chicken, and chicken and waffle. Dare I say the pretzels and cheese were the best I've ever had - and I've had a lot. Great flavor and wasn't just a plain beer cheese. Pretzels were fluffy and delicious. For the meals, the servings were generous so you could probably split one app and one entree if you're not starving. The chicken and waffles was cooked well but I wasn't the biggest fan of the waffle. Overall, friendly service, dog friendly, fabulous pretzels, and a nice patio area. If we go back to Greenville I'd try nose dive again for dinner.

Yelp
Another great experience, this time for brunch! 10/10 would recommend. Carolina Hot Fried Chicken is a must try, as well as the white cheddar grits. No complaints. Service was great!

Yelp
By far, the best food and service I've had in Greenville so far! I highly recommend! Hosea is fantastic!

Yelp
Sunday brunch can be the best time with friends, family and a way to savor local flavors. Never had we been to Nose Dive for brunch... our dinner long time ago with friends was wonderful.. We looked at the brunch menu and all it took was the grits bar to stop us Cold In Our Tracks Grits doesn't cover it Adulah creamy stone grits Fresh and buttery biscuits Weekly the chef picks the toppings for the bar and this week we had such amazing toppings... see video for the bar and its many wonders.. Simms was our server and she topped off drinks, took our plates when empty... Quiet even though the place was packed.. downtown vibe and amazing people and food... You don't want to miss this brunch..... Did I say $4 mimosas?!?

Yelp
Spot on a fabulous dinner and excellent waiter (Brian)! We were completely unfamiliar with where we should eat while visiting Greenville, and a local suggested Nose Dive to us. Dang - was he right!! We had fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and entrees were the fish & chips and the new (and best ever) roast beef sandwich. The roast beef was honestly like shirt ribs on a toasted hoagie with amazing gravy for dripping. Cocktails were also sooo good! Brian - thank you for being an absolutely superior waiter!!
google avatar

Yelp
Gluten free options, an outdoor area to people watch and great service! Angelica was our server and she was the perfect server. She explained all of my GF options and described the preparation and ingredients. My husband is not GF and she did the same for him. I have the fish and chips with freshly made coleslaw and it was really good. My husband had a very meaty and delicious loaded burger. He said the meat was of a high quality. We sat outside with our dog but our service was never lacking even though we were outside. The inside had a nice vibe and it looked like the service was good. The prices are very reasonable . If you go ask for Angelica as she went above and beyond!

Yelp
Staying at the Marriott next door. Drove 5 hours in the rain from NC. Was recommended by Courtyard to grab a bite here. Sat in the bar and Erin or Aaron made me a very strong and delicious lemon drop. It hit the spot after my drive. I ordered the fish n chips it was perfect! Crispy and yummy so was the coleslaw. She checked on me often and was very helpful in deciding what to eat. Glad I came here and probably will again before I head back after my business trip. Go see Erin for sone kickin good drinks!

Dorothy M.

Yelp
It was a very busy night, but we really didn't wait that long for a table. Server was great food very yummy and good size portions. The atmosphere was fun since it was Christmas time. Forgot to take photos.

Mary D.

Yelp
Listed as Urban Comfort Food, this restaurant offers excellent service, delicious food and is very accommodating for allergens including gluten! Dedicated fryer for Gluten Free Food. Most menu options can be made gluten free. There were even options in appetizers for gluten free.
google avatar

Brianna S.

Yelp
Came here with a friend who had dietary restrictions. Had friends recommend this place so I decided to try it with my girlfriend . The drinks and staff were great but they messed up my friend's order even after repeating it orders back to us. Thankfully they were nice enough to apologize and remake the order but I was kinda bummed that they messed it up and she couldn't eat it (she got the Brussel sprouts which were AMAZING!)Not sure if I'd come here again but the portions were pretty good for price

Yelp
I completely understand why this place is 3.5 stars. Got here and checked in to have lunch to celebrate a victory for my son's soccer team and checked in shortly after 2 other families. While waiting with the 2 other families a third family with 3 people check in and somehow got sat before my son and I. When I approached the hostess in the picture she said both tables had only one seat left each so rather than fighting with the hostess we decided to wait our turn. Then after waiting 10 minutes I approached the hostess stand and asked about a table for 2 and fortunately the manger was there and got a sat a table away from another family. Let's see if the food and service make up for the seating experience. So far so good. Evan was our server and he helped us both decide on food selection. My son and I both got Evan's suggestion, crispy chix sandwich; Brody got the original sauce with reg. Fries and I opted for the Carolina hot and truffle Parmesan fries. To drink I decided to get a Paloma. Tasty drink for a Saturday afternoon. I like the accordion type window that opens to the sidewalk on Main Street and the weather on this day can't be beat with a stick! Waiting on lunch now while enjoying a nice breeze and my blood Paloma. Great sandwich and tasty meal. The food more than made up for the frustration with seating. Great place to grab a bite when browsing in DT Greenville. Cheers!

Denise W.

Yelp
So disappointed because I had hear good things about this restaurant. I was traveling all day and hadn't eaten since breakfast so comfort food is what I needed. I ordered the side of fried green tomatoes, and a half grilled peach salad with candied pecans. All Southern all the time. Oh, and a local IPA. I never got the beer and when the food came you could see the pool of grease on the fried green tomatoes. They were cold and greasy. The salad was old, the peaches were cold and crunchy (not ripe - no flavor) and it was drowning in dressing. To their credit I was not charged for the meal. I never received the IPA.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
The entire staff is Jam up! Our server Erin was absolutely amazing! Warm southern personality full of great suggestions! The chicken and waffles were absolutely insane so good! The chicken was absolutely perfect juicy and crisp! The waffle was beyond amazing! Just an amazing combo! My husband had the fish and chips which seems to be a customer favorite, and he said it didn't disappoint! So much so, he didn't want to share even a bite!

Kelsie K.

Yelp
I'll say, our waiter was fantastic. He was constantly filling our drinks and was very helpful and attentive! The food came out pretty quickly and it was a Saturday night around 5 o clock so that was unexpected! Pretty dim lighting, but I didn't mind. One down side is it was a trek to the bathroom and it was kind of gross. I think it's shared by several restaurants though. Other than that the restaurant was nice enough. We got the deep fried tomato appetizer and the goat cheese sauce and the jam they served with it was super delicious. I'd never had goat cheese with green tomatoes - it was so unique. I'd definitely order that again. I got sweet potato fries with my meal and those are PHENOMENAL. I got the grilled cheese with onion and apple and it unfortunately was not hot and didn't have much filling. My husband got the snapper sandwich and he said it was just okay. The price for my sandwich wasn't bad though. The fries and the appetizer are what would bring me back here to be honest. We saw someone else with barbecue chicken and Mac n cheese and it look YUM. So, we will likely be back to try that. Overall, good food and great service.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was very tasty and the service was good. I would come back to Nose Dive again. My burger was better eaten with a fork, but that's what napkins are for. Sloppy but lots of flavor!
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambiance and friendly service in a great location! I got the Monday lunch special; sweet tea brined fried chicken with collard greens, mac n cheese, and corn bread. Overall everything was good, but slightly lacked seasoning in my personal opinion. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Good portion sizes for the price. Other menu items looked good as well, definitely plan on coming back.
google avatar

Tab C.

Yelp
We love going to this restaurant! The food is great quality for reasonable prices and our server, Emily, was excellent. It's great because you can eat inside or outside which makes the ambiance fun. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Christine A.

Yelp
Came here with my parents for dinner, only had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated without a reservation. We had great service, ambiance was visually pleasing but also very loud-no noise dampening at all. We ordered the salmon with fregola pasta, fish and chips and pan seared salmon on a salad. All were pretty good, I felt the Parmesan crusted salmon with fregola could have had better flavor and the crust seemed a bit stale. Not my favorite dish but the others were very good. Will be back to try other items on the menu.
google avatar

Luisa H.

Yelp
My husband & I came here for a date night. We ordered the shrimp & crab dip that was very good, but the pita chips seemed hard & stale. We had the cheese burger with truffle fries & the beef hoagie with truffle fries and they were both delicious. We also had a Manhattan & pear Paloma, which were fabulous. Sophia, our server was excellent!
google avatar

Sam D.

Yelp
Bartender was "amazing" and that doesn't really describe the experience. My first time visiting Greenville and were walking downtown during Jazz Fest and stumbled upon this gem. It's a Saturday and Saturdays aren't meant for brunch lol so I ordered mimosas and my partner a few of their specials. I enjoy a variety of mimosas and I noticed our bartender was very welcoming and knew how to make an awesome drink. I asked if he could muddle some strawberries and basil and he was super game. Then we tried just muddled strawberries in another. He made our experience really amazing. La Fleur - Traditional Mimosa - Strawberry Basil Mimosa/Strawberry Purée Mimosa Little Red Corvette - Once our food came, I had the chicken and waffles which were amazing. Did I say amazing enough yet? Lol My partner had the fish & chips and again "amazing". If you're looking for a spot with a great bartender who actually makes good cocktails, good conversation, atmosphere was spot on for the feel and "amazing" food, check out Nose Dive. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Delicious!! It was the first time at Nose Dive. Got the steak! Very tasty, place was wonderful. Really go for a nice date or hanging out with friends. The waitress was very friendly and so was the stDefinitely recommend!!

Yelp
Brian was our waiter and he was EXCELLENT! Very personable and made great suggestions, he paid extra attention to making sure everything was gluten free. Food was fantastic, everyone there was very friendly. Highly recommend this quaint restaurant.

Yelp
My wife and I had a great Sunday Brunch/Lunch at Nose Dive. Nina was our server and was attentive and knowledgeable. There was a good variety of apps, salads, brunch and lunch options. There are also gluten free options including GFree Mac and cheese. I had a burger, medium rare, that was cooked perfectly. My wife loved the fried green tomatoes. Inside was a little crowded and a little noisy so we ate outside under umbrellas. We would definitely go back.

Kathy B.

Yelp
My family (20 people) has gathered two times in the last year for a big family dinner in the private dining room at Nose Dive. I can't speak highly enough about Rachel and how kind and responsive she was in planning and coordinating the meals and ensuring everything was perfect for our family. Day of, everything was lovely. Great service, food, and patience with a big group. We didn't have to worry about or want for a thing! Thank you, Nose Dive, for hosting us so generously! Would recommend to anyone needing an intimate dining space in Greenville! I hope Rachel and our waitresses bosses are reading this - they went above and beyond!
google avatar

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Nice upscale ambiance. Somewhat noisy despite what appears to be acoustical ceiling tiles. Many GF menu options. Helpful service. Food well prepared, tasty but not exciting. I recommend the salmon. I had the salmon entree, pan seared with steamed rice and somewhat oily green beans cooked al dente. Salmon was in a spicy sauce. Nice center cut of fish. Moist. Husband had blackened salmon added to a salad. His salmon was also well prepared. Creamy coconut and mango/mandarin sorbets were excellent and i recommend both together, since the former is sweet and the latter is tart.

Yelp
"URBAN COMFORT FOOD" that SPECIALIZES IN GLUTEN FREE! My daughter has Celiac and cannot eat gluten. We walked in and asked about any gluten free options not knowing this is what they are known for. It was meant to be! They fully understand the cross contamination issues with food prep too! They serve gluten food so you still need to notify waiter that you need the gluten free option. The menu is clearly marked as to whether food is gluten free by default or can be made gluten free. The food was delicious...I mean really delicious. My wife ordered Fried Chicken and mac 'n cheese. My daughter had same but gluten free option. I ordered a Roasted Half Chicken with Blackberry Habanero BBQ, Duck Fat Potatoes, Collard Greens - so good! TIP - ask for an extra side of the BBQ sauce (made in house) as you should generously coat each chicken bite with the sauce. Their fries and potatoes are soaked in duck fat before frying. If you never had duck fat fries then you gotta get you some!! So good!! I really wish twe had a Nose Dive near us in the Savannah area. Gluten Free without the compromise.

Yelp
My family and i went downtown after church looking for a place eat lunch. We landed at Nose Dive as I had never been there before. Of course my husband had been there a few times. He wasn't too keen on dining here but since I had never been...he digressed. My husband pointed out that there wasn't much for me to choose from...as I have a gluten allergy (his last attempt to get up and find somewhere else). I was so excited to see how many gluten free items they had on their menu...I had a hard time deciding. Now...although I enjoyed my (gluten feee) fish & chips, my husband and son did not enjoy theirs very much. My husband said the chicken was ok but the waffles were rock hard. My son said the same about his regular fish and chips...they weren't very flavorful. I will try Nose Dive again, because it has a great atmosphere, prices are affordable and the servers were friendly and helpful. And I'm looking forward to trying more of the gluten free items on the menu.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service and really good food. I was disappointed a little that a Greenville, SC restaurant only supported one local beer. The beer, Ultra Select Enigma, was crisp and refreshing. Their burgers were full of flavor. Overall, a very nice place.

Susan H.

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner at the Nose Dive next to the Poinsett Hotel on my birthday. We were presented with a birthday menu and a card for me! I asked for waiter Brian Bui since I had been there before and liked him very much. The staff was nice enough to reconfigure the staff tables so Brian could be our waiter. The Nose Dive menu has enough choices to please diners of all ages. It's not overly pricey as so many downtown restaurants are. Brian is warm and friendly, helps with recommendations, and always makes sure we're happy with our meal and dining experience!
google avatar

Dylan D.

Yelp
If possible, ask for Brian! He is the best server that I have ever had at any restraunt by far. He made me feel very welcomed and had an outstanding attitude! Makes me want to be his friend! - Dylan
google avatar

Yelp
The service was great and everything I ordered came out correct. I got the burger and the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Both were really good. I would recommend this especially if you're on Main Street Greenville and want a cold beer.
google avatar

Patryce Y.

Yelp
Ask for Brian to be your server!!! Wonderful guy. Great food! Everything came out perfect. I love that they have half portion salads. Mac and Cheese hit the spot.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
We popped in to Nose Dive for an early dinner and it was delicious. My husband ordered the blackened grouper sandwich and I had the fish and chips special. Both were very tasty and delicious! We had our toddlers with us so we worried about them being too noisy but it was a wonderful experience.
google avatar

Toni S.

Yelp
Every visit has been perfect. Their shrimp and grits are worth the drive. Ask for a side if toast, you will be happy.

Yelp
Must visit if you are downtown Greenville.... My Meal was cooked to perfection ... excellent seasoning and very fulfilling ... If you order this Olán for this to be your meal
