"Sometimes you want sushi because you’re looking for a light meal. But other times, you’re looking to take down a lot of rice and raw fish. And for those times, Noshi is here to provide some of the cheapest high-quality sushi in the city. Everything here is good - we suggest coming in a group and ordering a feast’s worth. Just note: it’s cash only." - katherine lewin
"With its windowless all-red exterior, Noshi Sushi doesn’t have the greatest curb appeal, nor is the fish quite the same quality it used to be a decade ago, but this busy Koreatown spot is still an institution when it comes to wallet-friendly sushi. Stick to the straight-up nigiri, sashimi, and classic rolls, and you'll leave stuffed while paying about a third of what you would elsewhere. Some examples: the spicy tuna roll (one of the best things here) for $5, or the eight-piece nigiri combo for $18." - garrett snyder, cathy park, brant cox, jess basser sanders
"Don’t look now, but you’re officially burnt out from drinking wine and liquor during all these virtual hangouts with friends. Change things up and order from Noshi Sushi instead. The Koreatown sushi bar is currently selling a solid array of well-priced sake and soju, plus plenty of imported Japanese beer. Takeout only." - brant cox
"We’re not doctors, but we’re pretty sure fresh fish has a lot of fatty acids you’re supposed to be eating. Noshi Sushi is a great sushi restaurant in Koreatown that offers extremely high-quality, fresh fish for prices you rarely see. Most cuts here are two pieces for under $5, and rolls are all around $8. Our move, though, is always the chirashi bowl, which involves six kinds of fish for $13. Just remember to bring cash." - brett keating
"If your taste in sushi involves lots of sauces and crunchy bits, keep on moving. But for those that appreciate straight-up nigiri, sashimi, and classic rolls, Noshi is one of the best options on the Eastside for an outrageously affordable, well-executed feast. We always order three times the amount of food we actually need, and it ends up costing only a third of what you’d pay elsewhere. An example: the spicy tuna roll (one of the best things here) is $5. Just know that this place is no longer a secret—expect to wait." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder
