I recently came back from Cabo with sunburn, so I wanted to grab some aloe leaf to help treat it. Thats how I ended up here! Walking in it smelled fresh and everything was clean and organized. There are various supplements, herbs, and they even do juices, and vegetarian food options. The aisles are a bit narrow, so be mindful when walking through. There was R&B music playing and it made my shopping experience a bit more relaxing. The aloe I was looking for was right in front of the store, which it made things quick and easy to grab and go. I paid under $5 dollars for my aloe leaf and was able to use a card. The cashier was really pleasant checking me out. This is a hidden gem and its Black Owned! I look forward to visiting again soon!

This was a very HECTIC shopping experience!! The store is tiny and the workers are not warm nor inviting. I felt like I was in a prison because they have plexiglass at the windows where you pay. Nothing NATURAL about the experience. I promise you.

Love this Health Food And Juice Bar. You have to try it for yourself to understand. Wheatgrass shots is a plus and they sell it frozen or regular where you can take it home and consume one a day. Everything they sell is fresh and natural

So I purchased the veggie burger and protein shake/smoothie special. It was delicious! Some guy with an ear piercing (lols) suggested that I take it. The veggie burger was soooo good! And the Berry smoothie was tasty! I typically get whey protein added & I didn't this time & I didn't taste the difference. Def will Go back !

I visited this store yesterday for something for my baby ear as she had an ear 👂🏾 infection for two months that even the doctor couldn’t figure out what was causing it, many nights she couldn’t sleep toss all night and she would itch the ear after visiting this place and the boss gave me a ear drop I went home and used it immediately my God I thank God for this place and it’s people my baby slept so well lastnight no itching of the ear 👂🏾 thank you Jesus.I also got myself a detox smoothie my my the kind of stuffs came out of me Waw it’s good people try it at least once per week I would get myself one as we need to take care of our bodies it’s the temple of the living God.The staffs are pleasant the boss man is a great guy he helps you with everything you can ask him for advice.Herbs is better than running to doctors every minute all they does is insurance money and have you suffering more take it from me I work at kings county hospital God bless this place.

Man, I’ve been constipated for at least two weeks and I tried everything. My buddy’s Dad owns the shop and he told me to get the colon cleanse shake and man when I tell you that cleaned me outt!! Will be looking forward to shopping from them way more and just bettering my overall health with their guidance.

This old school neighborhood health food store is a treasure trove for the spirulina loving, spelt bread making, quinoa eating, health nuts like myself. I was so excited to find this place on Yelp and that it's minutes away from home. Small as it is, the aisles are absolutely filled with whatever nutritious goodies your heart desires. Chinese bean curd? They have it. Forbidden rice? You've got your pick of 3 different brands. Turmeric Coconut Water? My new favorite find! I made out like a bandit with an armful of bags of quinoa. There are signs laying out their guidelines for keeping 6 feet apart while in the store (admittedly very challenging because the aisles are rather cramped) but they do limit how many people are inside at once. I definitely felt uneasy as I had to almost press up against people to pass them in the aisles but everyone I encountered was masked. Come here for your sea moss or ginger candy needs. Their menu also lists a number of immunity boosting smoothies whose value proposition could never be stronger than it is right now.

When the whole pandemic hit, I was in search of the natural herbs and remedies to keep my immune system up and running. In my search i stumbled upon Nostrand health foods basically because i really wanted to find seamoss and they came up as having a large supply of it. When i went to the store i walked into a treasure trove of the most amazing herbs, vitamins, teas, leaves, powders, anything you can think of that has natural medicinal benefits. I was a kid in a candy store. Not to mention they make fresh juices and smoothies. My first time here i bought, soursop leaves, seamoss, moringa leaves, Ground turmeric and sarsaparilla bark. I have came back multiple times and bout burdock root powder and multiple smoothies such as watermelon eye open that has watermelon and ginger and i always add seamoss to it. I have also tried the soursop with added ginger and seamoss and the latest i have tried was the tamarind smoothie that has strawberry and i added ginger and sea moss, soooo delicious! I love their large variety of natural leaves and powders mainly found in the Caribbean. I will continue to come here!

They have everything you need and some! Trust me. This place has been around since I was a little girl and rightfully so because our neighborhood needs businesses like these to keep us 'firm and strong' (inserts Popcaan GIF here). While home tonight, I realized I should get me some moss to maintain my elite immune system and didn't look any further. I even had the option of powder or gel. Ain't God good?! Thanks for your dedication in serving the Flatbush community! We love you!

So I was on the search for Sea Moss and saw that this place had 4 stars. Even though it was farther I figured I would give it a try except for one review about the quality of their Sea Moss but perhaps this was just one customer and the owner had replied so what was the harm? I walk into the store which felt cramped and suffocating. The first man I encountered seemed nice enough pointing to a small section that contained the sea moss. As I examined the packages I saw that they were all from Vietnam which gave me pause. As I was considering whether to purchase, a gruff voice asked me if I needed help. I asked him about the sea moss differences and why people were saying Vietnamese sea moss was synthetic versus those from Jamaica or St. Lucia. Oh boy! You would have thought I insulted his mother! He went on about how he was in business for 27 years and how he sold "good sea moss"! Then he went on a rant about YouTube and how sea moss is sea moss! So shamed I bought the package and asked around. I was later told by an expert that this sea moss was indeed synthetic and farmed! I should have known by his response to what was an innocent question. Needless to say I won't be going back. Most unfortunate

Has all natural teas, herbs and medicine for all ailments. Nice juice bar in the back. Staff is super friendly. Will the manager is great as well! Gotta pay a visit soon and stock up.

I'm never going to a pricey natural food store or pharmacy ever again. This is the go-to establishment for any beauty product, natural remedy, or organic food you could possibly want. Fantastic service and the prices are unbeatable. Can not recommend this place enough, you have to see it to believe it!

I came all the way from Staten Island to come here. The people here are SO nice. I needed a few health products because of everything that's going on... I felt very comfortable here. I ordered a sea moss drink as well as a wheatgrass shot. The sea moss drink was VERY delicious and the wheatgrass shot was VERY strong but worth it. I picked up some great things. The cashier was very pleasant and positive. The man and woman who took my order and made my drink in the back was real nice. They got a new customer and I can't wait to come back!

I enjoy visiting this store. My time there the employees ask if I needed anything multiple times which kind of made me feel weird because it's a small/narrow store. I felt like I was being somewhat followed but when I did have questions they were very helpful and honest. They recommended a "blood and internal cleanser", which they praise does miracles. They were really nice so I went back because I honestly wanted more items before taking that. Wayne, not too sure if he's the owner but he was very helpful and honestly told me not to waste my money and use the product they recommended before I purchase other things to clean my blood and if any problems give them a call. I felt like that was excellent customer service as well as making me feel comfortable while I shop. I would recommend this place to any and everyone.

As I walked in to this small black owned business The staff were EXTREMELY HELPFUL. I was unsure of the type of drink to try, so I asked one of the ladies behind the counter to help me decipher. She was of great assistance, I also ordered the salmon burger which is good! All in all its a pretty great store if your looking for healthy foods, multivitamins or your a vegetarian this is the spot !!

Nostrand Health Foods is my go-to for Vegan eats. I will admit as a small business it does have its shortcomings as far as the wait time and may disappoint those who have high expectations of professionalism but all in all, their a black-run business I'll continue to support. My favorite shakes are the ital jockey aka "stallion (yes I know its a "man drink") and the peanut butter shake. The salmon burger is delicious and is very well seasoned.

The service just kept getting worst and worst here. Sometimes I'd wait 20+ minutes for a veggie hotdog!! So I started ordering over the phone. Imagine ordering over the phone to show up 30+ mins later (and one time even over an hour later) and your order was never prepared or you have to wait and additional 20+ mins. They ALWAYS offered an apology but the service DIDNT improve. I went DAILY too. They began to even RECOGNIZE my voice (and order) over the phone yet time AND TIME and time AGAIN they fell short. The servers would sometimes get an attitude with me because the manager (maybe?? Guy with the glasses at the front register) would talk sternly to them about the constant mistakes with my order. After weeks and weeks of the same ol' I just couldn't support this business anymore. As a black vegan, I wanted to support (and empower) a black owned business but soon it became painfully obvious that I couldn't continue to support ANY business with terrible service and attitude-y servers. It seemed like the actions were confirming yet another stereotype but I won't give up hope on other black owned businesses (nor even this one) I'll give them a few months to work it out and may check back again. The food is good and at reasonable prices located in East FLATBUSH. I really want them to get their ish together.

I wanted to give this place a shot as a black owned business but lost patience with the long, slow moving line. A lady came over to help me find spirulina and then disappeared. The customers were nice trying to navigate in a tiny space and not easy to find things although they seem to have everything. They are doing a lot of things and impacts service so I left when I was unable to get help on finding split mung beans. Again the staff that I encountered were nice just seems like too much going on for such as small space.

I came here specifically for Sea moss. But Once I got home and tried to make the sea moss gel I noticed it wouldn't gel up. When I called the store to find out where they get the sea moss from I was told it's from Vietnam. I then consulted with a Sea Moss expert who told me that it was farmed FARMED FAKE SEA MOSS. I threw it away instantly. Since then I have ordered online and got real St.Lucian Sea Moss and am now very satisfied. Needless to say I will NOT be buying anymore Vietnamese farmed fake sea moss!!

I popped in here for a nice refreshing freshly made cool down drink here a few times. the first time I had no issue with the young man who made my drink, but the next time I stopped in, I had this very unprofessional Hispanic girl. She looked at me from head to toe, then said, are you being helped: obviously not, there was no one else that was free that could have assisted me. I did not like her attitude, but did not want to wait any longer for someone else to take my order, so I allowed her to assist me. after she was done making my smoothie, she slammed it down on the counter, and said, it's $7.00. I handed her my money, in her hand, but she felt the need not to return the gesture, she just placed my change on the counter, and walked away in a hurry. I am big on costumer service, after all I work hard for every dollar I earn!

I am always a supporter of local businesses. It defined the economic foundation of NY. The owner is a cool and professional guy. The store is well-stocked. There are a variety of shakes/drinks to order from juice bar. The only qualm I have had over the years is the slow-moving, inattentive staff that works the juice bar. When ordering food, a simple burger can take up to 15 minutes. In spite of that, I will continue to patronize the business.

I love this place various health food item and supplements. The staff is always friendly. The make a good veggie burgers and shakes.If you go there between the hours of 11am to 3pm. They have a veggie burger special for six bucks it comes with a shake.I like the guy Patrice who prepare the food always smiling and upbeat! :-)

Just went here today, found this place on google for vegan supermarkets. Walked in and was greeted by a worker, walked through the aisles ( which were a tad small) and was offered help and was pointed in the right direction to the meat substitutes. Rounded up a basket full of stuff about 2 full bags for about $100. While i was there i got the lunch special for the veggie burger and smoothie for a cool $6. Burger and shake was amazing and i didn't mind the wait. Will definitely come back in the future!

I came here for black seed oil and left with black seed oil, a veggie burger, and a smoothie. The smoothie was so creamy, however, the pattie tasted like it was frozen and heated on the grill. I really wish that they were homemade, but nevertheless I will frequent this place again.

Always pop in for a shake and a snack when in the area. Awesome staff and service. Very attentive and courteous. I was feeling a little sluggish one time and the guys behind the counter recommended the STALLION SHAKE. It was a great pick me up and I went with their recommendations. Keep up the amazing business. I hope to be in the area again soon.

This weekend I stopped by to check out this black owned Ital Health store that I heard so much about from my boyfriend. I have to say, they did not disappoint. The man in the front with the glasses was very helpful in explaining how to incorporate chia seeds and flax seeds into my smoothies at home. Even the customers were friendly and one helped me pick out the best brand of raw honey. We made jokes at the counter about how great and addictive the smoothies are and I enjoyed the tips and recommendations. I am about to meet a friend right now to head over there again to get some smoothies. Wonderful establishment, friendly staff, knowledgeable management and hard working people over all. Good vibes. I definitely recommend stopping by to try a smoothie. Changed my life! Lol

I received SinuActin from Nostrand Health Foods as I was suffering from a severe sinus infection. I don't know what was in that bottle but it instantly drained my sinuses and left my passages clear. I've tried so many over-the-counter medicines from local pharmacies, and NOTHING worked as well as the product I received from this health food store. Now, I am all well, and forever grateful for discovering this product. I would forever recommend this company to any and everyone. The staff are very helpful and passionate about ensuring you get the products you need. In addition, their natural fruit smoothies are AMAZING!! Everyone should try them!

The guy behind the counter is extremely rude. I repeatedly get hung up on when trying to call. good products, but the customer service lacks. Plenty of Health Food stores in the area, so don't waste your time.

I love this health food store. They make fresh juices, as well as smoothies and veggie/turkey burgers. The cashier and the staff are Rastafarian, which I love and surely relate to. There are TONS of vegan options , therefore I am even more in love. They are always respectful and ready to help you find something. If they cant find it, they offer to order it for you. Really great customer service skills. The only gripe I have is the guy that usually makes the juices always seems grumpy :S not sure what that is about. They accept all payments... Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Even "EBT" cards, just no checks! They close around 8 pm I believe, I will double check and update. The prices are reasonable compared to many other HF stores I have been to within the 5 boroughs and beyond. The isles are narrow though so be careful not to break anything.

This the BEST Health Food Store in Brooklyn. The staff are extremely helpful and give excellent customer service. They are very knowledgeable on all the products and give great advice on what to buy pertaining to your health needs. I buy all my vitamin supplements from here. And they make great smoothies, juices, etc... I love this place.

This is the second time I've visited this location. My first visit was great, this visit however was not. There was a woman of short stature who served me during this particular visit. She was very rude and lacked basic customer service skills. Whenever I asked a question about something on the juice menu she answered them as if I was bothering her. Let me add that the gentleman who made my juice was kind and asked if I wanted extra ginger with my juice. He along with their great selection of natural products is the only reason why I'm giving 2 stars otherwise I would have given only 1 star. After I placed my order for the juice I asked her for a veggie patty and she did not acknowledge my request. I waited for the veggie patty while my juice was being made thinking she would give it to me with my juice, unfortunately thats was not the case. Tired of waiting, I paid for my juice and left without asking about the patty again. I walked down to Tastee Patee on Church and Fairview and purchased a salmon patty and veggie patty for half the price. Their patties tasted amazing and the customer service there was pleasant.

I just came from the store completely disgusted with the man behind the counter who is the owner. I walked in with the intention of making this my new spot which was dashed away before I even got to survey the whole store. I asked to taste the unsalted roasted cashews and one of the workers said you have to ask the owner. He said OK and motioned to the worker to let me taste it. The worker gave me maybe 6 cashews and the owner looked over and started barking at me about that's not a taste. Cashews are too expensive and so on. Now why bark at me when he should have call the attention of his employee. I expected to get 1 or 2 but that's what the guy gave me. When I told him his outburst should not have been directed at me he proceeded to say that cashews are to expensive and I should've offer to pay for what the guy gave me with no apology. I would never go to that store again and I wouldn't recommend anyone go either because that's not how you treat ppl. For 6 cashews he lost out on gaining a regular customer. He's a big dummy.

amazing place!! everyone's friendly and you learn so much on healthy living just by reading the signs. taste is superb!! i wish i lives in the area to go here constantly!! go here! highly recommended!!!
