The Spots Of The Summer, LA Edition - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Leopard-spotted pizzas. Tropical cocktails. Swaying under a disco ball in a packed room. It’s not a checklist for your non-existent trip to Ischia; it’s a night at Not No Bar. Sure, you’ll likely have to wait in line, but you didn’t spend all those winter nights recharging on your couch for nothing." - brant cox, cathy park, sylvio martins, jess basser sanders

The Best New Bars In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Though everybody inside this crowded Santa Monica spot will be eating bubbly-crusted pizza, don’t be fooled. Not No is a cocktail bar first. Dates smoosh up against the bar with coupes in hand while groups of friends lounge on two-tops and booths like the Feast of Dionysus. Euro disco thumps over the hi-fi system while a couple of cooks twirl pizza dough in the open kitchen. It’s loud, a little messy, and a lot of fun. This is the kind of place you might stop into for a quick drink and end up staying for a while, sipping on tropical-leaning cocktails, like the rum-based Curry Killer laced with coconut and green curry, or the House Of Learned Doctors with aquavit, kiwi, and fennel." - brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder

The 17 Most Fun Dinner Spots In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"A night at No Bar Bar is frenetic and a bit lawless. Walk into this pizzeria-cocktail bar from the Dudley Market people in Santa Monica and you’ll find dates smooshed up against the bar and groups packed into booths. On Friday and Saturday nights, you’ll probably have to wait in line for a little bit while DJs spin throwback Euro disco over the hi-fi. A spacious table is never a guarantee, but the reward is excellent tiki-inspired cocktails and bubbly-crusted pizza that goes toe-to-toe with the best on the Westside." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park

Where To See & Be Seen In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Santa Monica, especially Main Street, is famously fickle when it comes to nightlife, but Not No Bar is clearly off to a hot start. And when we say hot, we mean it. Half the people at this narrow part-pizzeria, part-cocktail-bar look like this year’s Zara models. The other half looks like next year’s. You’ll likely have to wait in line on the weekends, but your reward will be boozy tropical drinks that are way better than they need to be, bubbly-crusted Neapolitan pizza, and the aforementioned models dancing under a disco ball to retro pop-house playlists." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park

The 19 Best Pizza Spots In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The pizza at Not No Bar can be difficult to procure. The buzzy cocktail bar-pizzeria in Santa Monica is walk-in only and lines form quickly on the weekends. But your reward is bubbly-crusted, Neapolitan-ish pizza that goes toe-to-toe with the best on the Westside. The topping options are swapped out regularly, but if you see La Blanca, get it. The ricotta-layered white pie is squiggled with pesto and topped with a heap of frilly mustard greens that cut through the richness nicely. The room tends to be less packed on Sundays and Mondays, which means you might be able to glimpse spinning dough action at the back pizza counter from your seat." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park

Google
I liked the food at this place but the service was so bad. They decided to tell us the rules for tables AFTER we were already waiting an hour for a booth. After trying to understand the point of view of the server, the waiters decided to be rude to us. It is basically hunger games waiting for a table and the servers are very selective with who they allow to break the rules. Don't waste your time here. This place could use more organization.

This place has the best cocktails I’ve had in LA over the past 5 years. Wanted pizza but they were out by 7 pm on a Friday night.

Very rude bartender and they charged me $76 more than what I ordered. Had to submit a dispute.

Yelp
I had two cocktails and a pizza. Staff was excellent. Asked the bartender about the wine selection and he offered up a glass he preferred and even described the varietal. Dude working the pizza oven was also a hoot. Joked with us while he worked, which was cool. Loved the exposed pizza oven and work station. Pizza was delightful. Vibe was good. First cocktail (king of the castle) was a good old fashion riff. I was not a fan of the second cocktail (ghost punch). It was a bit too medicinal. Otherwise a solid place to hang and fight for seats.

Yelp
It's Not No, but it's also Not Always Yea. 5 stars for the bar service 4 stars for the pizza 3 stars for the comfort and seating availability This is a bar that serves pizza. Expect your usual Main St. crowd, fun atmosphere, high energy. It's hardly a restaurant, but as long as that's what you're going for, it's a good time. Usually standing room only on the weekends. If there's no line, I'd go back.

Yelp
Tried Not No Bar for the first time since hearing all the commotion about it! It's the newest little disco / cocktail bar in Santa Monica. The drinks are delicious and the pizza is amazing. Bartenders are also super friendly and helpful! My only real qualm is that its very limited seating (first come, first served) and while I know they say they're cocktails first, their pizza oven is literally in the middle of the bar. If you want to be able to come and seat and eat it, you basically have to come at opening or you're SOL because it gets competitive and packed. We got there early and had to check in with people as they were paying for their bill in order to get their seats which is always uncomfortable. But, I feel like they should prioritize tables for those who want to eat so they can? I'm fine to stand with a drink but its impossible to eat a pizza in a packed room with no table I think there's some kinks to be worked out here and I do think once they open their outdoor seating things will improve!!!

Yelp
Great vibes and pizza, but knocking off a star because trying to get a table if you want to eat a pizza is kind of a nightmare. Unless you're a large group, it's a free for all at the bar for seating where there's I think 8 seats so you basically have to stand around and wait for someone to leave. We got here around 6:30 and it was pretty packed. We were lucky and got seats maybe 10-15 min after we got there. By the time we left around 8, there was a line of ~20 out the door. If you're coming for a drink, they have unique drinks and it's great but if you want to sit down and eat, it'll be hard... the pizzas were really good though!!

Yelp
Beats, wine, & pizza - three of my favorite things. Now mix in a great ambiance, awesome art, and a cool bar and you somehow have an East side feel over here on the West side. I went with two friends, Maggie and Tara around 5:20 on Thursday and it was jammed. Maybe one seat at the bar open upon arrival and two booths. We opted for full service at the booth and Maya and Cutter were great servers. Usually, I'm NOT a sparkling girl but we went for a natty sparkling red & when they didn't have the preferred option, Cutter brought over another (pictured below and v tasty). We shared the bang bang pizza & the crudo, mostly because I was begging the girls for the crudo but next time, I'd get two pizzas.. even if it means paying 27-29 for a margarita or pepperoni with hot honey.

Yelp
Salad was alright, the pizza was meh, the service was horrible, and the place was SO LOUD. Go ahead, call me an old granny, but when you leave with your ears ringing and a sore throat from yelling at the person next to you, you'll see.

Yelp
Happened upon this new pizzeria/cocktail bar on Main Street in Santa Monica, in the former Isla/Little Prince space. A large domed pizza oven dominates the space, toward the back. The pizzaiola tells us he uses walnut for the wood burning oven. He turns out great Neapolitan-style pizza. Had the Bang Bang, a pie with soppressata, peppers, onions & greens -- it was delicious! They have a clam pizza that I'll have to come back for. Full bar with some interesting cocktails -- another thing I'll have to come back for, since I stayed with the Creature Comforts lager on tap. Cool vibes, disco-y music, small and crowded. A fun place to be.

Yelp
The bartender was super rude. In addition, they overcharged my credit card by more than $75. Trashy crowd and yucky food. Please avoid this place if you can.

Yelp
Servers are rude and no signs about reserving a booth, but they expect paying customers to already know this . Put up reserved signs if tables are reserved.

Yelp
As a New Englander, I know a clam pizza when I see one, New Haven has been rated the best pizza in the US for that specific pie. That being said, outside of New England, this is the best clam pizza I've had. Also, just pizza in general. Their crust and body are firm but chewy enough that its perfection is an afterthought to the clam and cheese flavors that permeate the rest of the pie. Can't wait to try the Italian sausage version or even the artichoke because they wood fire them for that smoky flavor. Love it!

Yelp
you are not the destination, just a pit stop. Friendlier staff at Jamesons or the Victorian and better prices too

Yelp
I used to like this place but the staff is rude. It's very busy for the amount of customers they get. Work on your organization and maybe we'll come back but honestly not worth it. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
Awesome pizza and ambiance close to and within walking distance is many other bars and restraints

Yelp
The bouncer at this establishment was really rude to me and my friends as we were trying to get into the bar. With no reason, he decided to kick us out of the line and yell at us. We were excited to come to the bar and grab drinks and food and are disappointed with the way we were treated and therefore will not be coming back. In addition, I would warn people coming here to never speak in line because anything you say CAN AND WILL be used against you. (To be extra specific, the man at the door had long hair and a braided beard - not no bar, I would recommend removing this man from your service ASAP)

Yelp
The place is really cute and a vibe! My friend who lives in the area said they needed this. Crudo was delicious and so was the pizza. Creative cocktails too! I will say this places system is awful and annoying for anyone trying to join for a sit down dinner. It's really hands off and is a fight for the death for a table. They also don't regulate people occupying the tables so people are jerks and linger while others are trying to get service. They need a hostess and time limits. The system itself would keep me from coming because you wait around in a crammed place. Maybe it's more of a late night place?

Yelp
The food was iconic, the clam and the tiramisu was amazing and the service is stellar just wait your turn and don't overwhelm the bartender.. killer tunes

Sarah J.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the ambiance was so fun but the cocktails we got didn't taste the best. I'd go back and maybe try a different one but the pizza was the star of the show. We got the margarita with prosciutto and La Blanca and both tasted great. Service was pretty slow but I'd still go back for the pizza. It's a good starting place for the evening and the vibes are good.

Yanina Q.

Yelp
Awesome awesome so fun and just awesome. Delicious friendly hip and fun. Don't go and take my seat!

Yelp
Amazing pizza. I say this as a lifelong New Yorker. It's potentially the best pizza I have had in LA. The bar is fun and busy so you're guaranteed to get a crowd. You can't make a reservation and it's a bit of a fight to get space to hang. But the pizza and cocktails are well worth the wait.
google avatar

Anna Y.

Yelp
It was a really cute spot but was unfortunately so busy and the bar so mobbed that after 15 mins of being unable to get a drink we left
google avatar

Yelp
Just about the best cocktails, pizzas, salads, staff and ambiance you could hope for in this hidden getaway. Obviously, though, the lines out the door and down the street indicate that the Not No Bar is no longer a secret. The extraordinary vibe this joint possesses is like no other!

Yelp
Fun new bar in Santa Monica! A little crowded but lots of fun people to meet and smells amazing cause of the pizza

Alex H.

Yelp
Service was great, our server gave us drink and food recommendations and even told us about the gelato spot a few doors down. It got pretty loud around 6:30 but it wasn't bad. Pizzas were amazing and so was the scallop appetizer. Lovely experience.

Ana H.

Yelp
The pizza and drinks are good but it's not worth the extremely rude service and having to stand while you eat.

Adam M.

Yelp
Favorite new Santa Monica bar. Delicious cocktails and food. The clam pizza is a must (never thought I'd say that in my life but it's true). Great music and overall vibe.
