some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. We got a mozzarella pie of pizza and garlic nuts as well. There was just the right amount of garlic in the garlic knots and they were also very crispy too. My pet peeve is when garlic knots or doughy, soft and flavorless, which is the Opposite of these garlic knots. The food was delicious!!!!

This is the best pizza place in town. It deserves a Michelin star. The Owner is hard-working and dedicated to making pizza. Excellent Pizza. The workers are like machines. They're flawless and that's pretty frightening. Please come here and experience. Excellency for yourselves.

I have ordered from here quite a few times. I ordered 4 pies today & they were ready quickly. One of the pepperoni pies was barely cut... not a big deal. What I can't ignore is the fact that a whole cheese pie was burnt. There is no way that pie should've been served. I am disappointed...

I have been dealing with this establishment for years. But this evening the delivery service was omg. I am a disabled veteran of 20 years. The delivery man swept my entrance and stairs . So he could work safe. This is very rare, but this just shows NYC and the whole google community what Not Rays is. So everyone remember this rating because Not Rays is more than just serving Pizza. They are serving our Community.

This is the best NY pizza shop in Fort Greene by far. The pizza never disappoints and the people who work there could not be nicer. I moved out of the area and still order from here since I can’t find anywhere that compares to Not Ray’s. Could not recommend more highly.

Hot piping, fresh, delicious, NY slice right here in Fort Greene. How lucky are we to live close nearby. As my Mother-in-law said about this place: "I don't know how I would survive living next to a pizza that is so good". After trying all of their slices, we have a favorite: White Pesto. Not bad pizza ... nothing special... more of a Long Island taste, doughy, grease... but will do!!

Decent NY slice shop. Nothing special, but if you're craving a quick cheese slice, this place will do. I will say it's much more expensive than other slice shops. $14 for three slices is pretty ridiculous. I'd recommend Impasto Pizza a few blocks away if you want something much better for less. Luigi's is also better and cheaper. There are plenty of other good options nearby.

I come here about once a month, maybe twice and update my review every now and then. Not rays is still going strong. It's my local pizza shop that I adore. From the friendliness to the delicious pizza you can't go wrong. Today I went with the white slice (has spinach too) and added suasage. Hot, cheesy, crispy crust and delicious. Tables for sitting and I'm always able to grab one. Bathroom available and tv always on the news channel or basketball.

What Not Ray's Pizza isn't - it is not fancy, hip, trendy or a hot spot. That's totally okay with me. Not Ray's Pizza is a Fort Greene institution, a Brooklyn pizza institution. It is the best place in the neighborhood for great, authentic, delicious pizza. It's not about going to someplace that is all hype. It's all about the pizza, really good pizza! It's the perfect slice or the perfect pie. The crust is just how I like it, thin and crispy. It isn't floating in sauce that takes over the pizza. The tomato sauce is just the right amount, with great flavor. It isn't dripping with oil. The amount of cheese is spot on and melts in your mouth. I haven't had a pizza or slice that has disappointed. The pepperoni is a favorite, you can't go wrong with a regular slice or a grandma slice. The service is always friendly, they are hard working and that's because they make great pizza. It's hot, right out of the oven and irresistible.

We ordered half plain, half pepperoni and pineapple. This is what they sent us. How do you mess up an order this badly? They even called us, asking for clarification on the order. The receipt and item description were thoroughly inspected, and this is definitely not what we ordered.

Not bad pizza. I ordered online, and it was ready in about 10 minutes, the time it took to walk there. The price online was $22 when I ordered. The fella I picked up from charged me $26, really just because he could. If you use a credit card, they add on some arbitrary charge to your bill, again, just because. Oh well!

3.5. It's good NY pizza. There was a good crisp to it and a lil chew which is the way I like it. Cooked well. Cheese and sauce weren't rich in taste but were good.

Had the pepperoni calzone. Must share with a friend. Very cheesy and such a small shop to eat at but worth it. Better than a food chain pizza. The pizza guys get you in and out!!

We ordered a bunch of pies from there. I am doing keto so opted for a chicken roll and just pulled the chicken from bread. There was not a lot of chicken on it. But tasted good. Everyone said pizza was good. Lots of choices

Descent spot for pizza. Has a nice toasty crust and cheesy. This is a good spot for Brooklyn style pizza. Reminds me of childhood and the service is friendly. $23 for half plain half pepperoni size large. The sausage pepperoni size large was about $29. Ambiance- fast pace with lots of people ordering. Very busy pizzeria and only a few seatings inside. Most people take their pizza to go and it's a really laid back spot to get pizza.

The food never disappoints! I grew up in the neighborhood but moved in 2004. To be able to return and the pizza is still great, wows me! Brought a friend with me and he co-signs this flavorful review. Service is excellent and it still has that good old Brooklyn pizza shop ambiance that I craved for.

I was looking at my account and saw this review, and having since had more pizza, I just cannot in good conscience keep this place at a 5 star review. While it is still fine pizza, it is simply not as good as some other pizza places I've since reviewed.

Great for what it is but why was the pizza a square instead of slices? And very greasy. But the pesto was a fairly good taste. Convenient location

Not Rays is still kickin', so i had to update my previous review with an add'l star. Lemme remind y'all - i've been enjoying Not Rays for *several* decades and they've still got it! Their slices have that PERFECT New York pizza taste. i ordered a medium pie this past weekend - half plain, half fresh mozz and Baybehhhhh! That fresh mozz half changed my life okay? It's the only thing i wanna eat now. Too bad i don't live in the Fort Greene area anymore cuz i'd be 3,000 lbs eating that fresh mozz pie everyday. Everyone in my house enjoyed their slices, even my fussy 1.5 year old. Plus the little dashes of fresh basil on top give it some extra panache. Needless to say - get your life together like i got mine, and get some Not Rays. *Note: this is NOT a fancy shmancy pizza joint, but they are serving up comforting, down home, deliciousness for the masses. And they clearly have staying power - i've seen their block on Fulton lose businesses left and right - it's so sad - but glad to see that Not Rays continues to stick with recipes, pies, and slices that keep the people happy. i hope to stop in again soon (for a LARGE pie this time!)

This is very dirty place I been here couple times , they have very nasty service , the owner or the manager he's not good for service , I see on the corners all dusty , the floor very greasy , not clean at all , not for me , food place most be clean

Boy meets girl. Girl flirts with boy. Boy walks with girl and decides to fill her belly...with food. Pizza shop pops up. Not just a pizza shop. But "It's Not Rays." Girl gets 1 slice boy gets 2. Boy and girl decide to eat in a nearby car. At first sight the slice looks good. Girl takes one bite and then another. Boy asks girl "be honest, how is it?" Girl replies: 3.5/5 "nice thin crust needs a bit more saltiness, nice texture, good cheese pull, Good tomato taste With just the right amount of sauce. Boy wins another date with girl.

Surprisingly good. I was not expecting this pizza to be as good as it ended up being. I had heard good things about this pizza joint, but was very surprised at the whole experience. The pizza is served incredibly hot and takes a hard five minutes to cool down. I thought about asking for napkins and a fork and knife to eat this, but I manned up and persevered for a welcome final result. The plain slice has a very crispy crust; no chew whatsoever. The slice is so crispy that I was unable to fold it. But it has a nice flavor with the right amount of herbs and salt. The cheese and sauce make for a pleasant mouth feel so it did go down easily. It is a greasy slice, so take your time eating this slice. My specialty slice was a stuffed meat slice. It contains meatballs, sausage, and pepperoni. The pizza is so dense it could almost qualify as a Sicilian slice in triangle format. I was expecting it to be messy, cumbersome, and give my insides full fright. Sure, it is messy, it is cumbersome, but it tasted so fresh that my stomach was welcoming it with opens arms. That is until I got to the crust, where I reached my breaking point and had to surrender my crust to the trash bin, something so sinful for any pizza enthusiast to do. But overall I really liked this pizza. It was real busy, filled with hard working professionals, and you get a professional looking slice in return. I would say that is a pretty fair deal. After moving away from Brooklyn over 20 years ago and returning to see literally everything has changed, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Not Ray's is still standing! And it was just as I remembered. Delicious NY style pizza!

The best pizza hands down. I've been going there since I was a teenager. Every time I come home one of my 1st stop.

We were looking for pizza slices the size of our faces on paper plates and Not Ray's Pizza made our pizza dreams come true! We had the regular cheese slice, lasagna slice, and beef patty with cheese and omg all were so delicious from the first bite to the last crunchy crumb. Out of all the rays in the neighborhood Not Ray's really shined. The best pizza place is not Ray's it is Not Ray's. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and it had a great ambiance.

I like how fresh the pizza is made! Also the food at not rays is good and you can watch them make the pizza from the dough so it makes it more fun! Finally the not rays place is actually cleaned

Born in Brooklyn NY, moved to Columbia SC. Only the best slice of pizza I had on my vacation. It was four months ago and I still remember my euphoria! I was just driving by and stopped. So nostalgic, so delicious. Thin, spotted darkness crispy crust...just enough greasiness, and cheesy. Delicious!!

The pricing was very odd for these speciality pizza of 1-3 dollar difference for sizes. But I ended up ordering a large pizza for veggies and chicken pizza. The menu online was a nice interface to use to customize your pizza (similar to dominoes format). The veggie pizza was surprisingly good and didn't taste as soggy and had good seasoning to it. The chicken pizza was very underwhelming and didn't have enough cheese or sauce on it... almost just tasted like eating meat on bread with minimal content. For a take out/to go pizza: this is a solid place to get for a party or if you have a pizza craving. But I think they need to work on their chicken pizza and add more cheese to it.

To me, one of the best pizzas in NYC that no one talks about. And i have had a bunch of the overrated, expensive, tourists traps that people hype up that dont come close (like Joes, Grimaldi's, Johns of Bleeker). Run by some cool Albanian dudes that have been there for ages. Always very Cheesy and Saucy, with enough crust and crisp. Perfect NYC slice. Have been ordering there since i was a 10 year old when I used to live in that area. One of the best if not the best.

Would give it a 3.5 realistically but doesn't work that way. This is my idea of a good local spot to grab a slice when you're too lazy to venture more than a few blocks for some affordable food/pizza. Served by the slice or by the pie. No line when I went on a Sunday evening; quick and convenient. Staff was chill. Food: Pizza was flavorful, crispy, plenty of options and sides (garlic knots). In order of favorites: Pepperoni, Pesto, Lasagna, Veggie -- they had other slices too but didn't end up trying any of those. Favorite part for me was that the crust was done perfectly, not too thick and perfectly crispy. Long story short: Good NY slice, convenient and easy but nothing over the top.

The food is average and the service is below average. I think the reason that they are still in business, is because there is not much competition in the surrounding area, and the location is central.

One of the best pizza spots in Brooklyn. If you're hungry hungry try their stuffed meats slice, but other then that my two go to's are the grandma pesto slice and the bruschetta slice . The grandma slice is a square pie with a thin crust that's so buttery with the pesto, fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce and fresh basil. The bruschetta slice is a thick square pie baked with mozzarella and topped with tomato bruschetta . All 3 are amazing

A very underrated spot. They have a variety of slices but the 2 stats the margarita and regular cheese slice. Prices are fair. The staff can be difficult to communicate with at times. 4.5 star that I will round up since i love this place so much.

Waited 90 minutes. Called and they said they never got the order from seamless. Seems unlikely given how automated seamless is.

The crust is hard and flat/no volume, They tried mimicking other pizzerias in the local area but still can't perfect their product. I tried to become a fan but they failed miserably. I gave this place far too many chances only because it's closest to me.

Always a NYC standard slice that meets the iconic requirements. Crust: Thin, crispy, chewy. Sauce: well balanced, between sweet and acidic. Cheese: gooey but not slippery and sloppy. Plus you get friendly service when you are friendly. If you are a bit of a d baggy in your approach they will be dry as toast with you. Be nice to the people who handle your food. Period. point blank. Anyone who left less than 4 stars, I'm not sure what anyone else is looking for with these four "musts" being on point. See you guys again when I'm in the area.

So delivery. Not the same experience I have in person all of these years. I love Sicilian, square pizza, the cheese was half way off the pie/dough by the time it got to me. Because we have contact less drop off that displeased me. I tasted it and needed to put some "hook me up" stuff to it. If it is not in person I am not ordering the square pizza pie again.
