Ana, our server was outstanding. We came here twice on our trip this week, and both times our servers were terrific. Ana stood out to me and worth a mention. It cannot be understated how much a server sets the tone for the whole restaurant experience. Today was proof and point. Her overall happy demeanor and smile made my wife and I feel right at home. I felt a similar way with a different server when we came to this same location earlier in the week. But, again, Ana stands out with her attentiveness and anticipation of our needs (refills, extra napkins, brought water during the meal to clean my palate, etc... without asking) Food- Add to this my favorite dish today, the Korean Beef bowl, and it really was a perfect day. The beef was perfectly cooked and juicy. The flavor is quite strong, which is one reason I like this. The blend of flavor brings out the explosion of salt and sweet to appeal to the tongue. The texture of the dish with the noodles and just the right snap on the vegetables, and the nuts, the whole experience is outstanding, and continues to be my favorite dish on their menu. I am still disappointed that the chain does not offer an apple option for desert during New England's "apple season". Apple pie or apple crisp would be a perfect compliment at least seasonally in the fall. Im a little disappointed with the desert options here as no apple options and no light deserts except a sorbet. I got the mango sorbet earlier in the week when we came. It was so so. Being no desert options that appeal to me, I ordered a Bavarian pretzel for desert. A great choice for me today. Warning - it is huge ! Atmosphere is colorful, noise level moderate, choice of music could be more variety of eras.

Google
Exceeded my expectations. Food was good, there's def room for improvement though. Service was okay, I guess water is a rare commodity. And the space is well designed.

Google
Perfectly located in the mall. Good menu option for everyone . The service wasn't on par when we went. Servers were a bit off or either newbies. Service was a bit slow and attempted the wrong food order twice. Overall, food was good, nothing to complain about, maybe just less salt in tomato soup.

Our waiter was great - very attentive. We had a nice booth - but one side did not face not even 1 TV. The place needs more TV's. It is pretty open, so probably loud during rushes. We ordered 3 appetizers. Steak & cheese eggroll was the best, although 1 section had very little filling so we just didn't eat that bit. Bang Bang Shrimp - the breading did not stay on. It was good, but would have been so much better if the breading stated on. Korean Boneless Wings - right on the edge of being too hot (spicy) to eat. The blue cheese helped a bit - but don't order if you don't like hot food!

Google
Very slow. I ordered food online at 7:22pm. Their website said 20 minutes... That's ok. They also sent an email that said the food would be ready at 7:42pm. I show up at 7:43pm. I waited and waited... They finally gave me the bag of food at 8:09pm. It took over 45 minutes to prepare an online order. That's crazy. And it was not busy there either. It wasn't slow but it seemed like roughly 30% of their tables were occupied. As I was watching the back area where the food is prepped, a couple of our items were ready on time while other items were not. So the hot food was cold and the salad was warm.

My husband and I enjoyed sitting at the bar on a Sunday afternoon, watching the game. The bar was packed with fellow Patriot fans, and it was a great atmosphere. We enjoyed a plate of wings, a delicious fresh salad, and nice cold beer (let's not forget the delicious bread). The bartender was kind and made us feel like valued and appreciated customers. We will absolutely be enjoy Sunday game days here.

Google
Honestly thought this was gonna be another average, chain restaurant with decent options but this place actually had awesome food! First of all, that bread is ridiculous, Second, the service was top notch. Ana was fantastic and incredibly attentive. The Chicken Piccata and the Pulled pork sandwich were awesome and I highly recommend the sweet potato fries they were perfect.

William T.

Google
Food was fantastic. Ordered the Terriyaki Glazed Salmon bowl and it was amazing. My son and wife really enjoyed what they ordered. Steak Tips and Kids Cheeseburger was cooked to perfection. Presentation and service was also great.

Yelp
Three of us went out for dinner. Our first time at Joe's for all of us. I'm telling you! You HAVE to order the feta dip app. It was delicious. The perfect amount for three to share. My photo doesn't do it justice because we had already eaten some dippers, but it all was delicious! A friend and I shared the mustard crusted chicken BLT, and Korean chicken tenders. Both of which we loved. The fries are delish, and the wasabi sauce for the tenders was out of this world. Our other friend had the Italian sandwich which was so big she couldn't finish it. I'm already searching for a location that is somewhere on our next travels.

Yelp
Went for lunch today with my family. Our waitress was pleasant and the atmosphere was nice, not too busy. We ordered iced teas, nachos, the spicy burger, Caesar chicken wrap, and two kids burgers with soda. The kids burgers seemed fine and they were happy. I couldn't find the chicken on the nachos. There was barely any there. I didn't want to let it be an issue and continued with our meal. All the food arrived at once. Our server asked anything else we needed and I asked for a refill of my drink. And then we didn't see her for 10 minutes. My wife bit into her wrap and instantly described chewing fatty pieces of chicken. She ate half after picking it apart and stopped. I took about 2 bites of my food and then waited for my drink. And by the time the waitress came back, my food was cold. Usually when a waitress drops off your food, they give you a few minutes to have a bite or two and check on you. But that didn't happen, so I waited until she came back and then asked to speak to the manager. The manager comped both of our meals, but not the kids meals or nachos. I did not mention the issue with the nachos. Our waitress returned with the check and seemed to have an attitude. We paid quickly and left. I likely won't return after this visit. I sent this same review to NYAJ's team.

Yelp
9 of us came for dinner based on a recommendation from one of us who'd been to other "Not Your Average Joe's" locations and liked it. The wait staff seemed friendly enough, but they didn't bring us any bread. Our friend had mentioned the kids would like the bread before we came, but none was offered. I noticed after our meal that bread was brought out for every other table except ours. The waitress also didn't stop by very often after our food was served. Had a hard time flagging her down for water refills or other orders. Wasn't that busy, so seemed odd. Food was mediocre, though the portions were on the small side. Ahi salad was tiny, given the $26 price. Bread would have at least made it so I didn't go home hungry.

Mariah M.

Yelp
I am not happy. Host and waiter looked miserable and overall sucked. The food sucked. A WHOLE CHUNK OF THE END OF LETTUCE IN THE WRAP. Food took wayyy too long. I DO NOT RECOMMEND
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
Very good meal. The bowls were very good as was tomato basil soup. Service was good. The bread had a dipping sauce that was excellent. Easy parking and you can go to the restaurant without find into the mall.

Yelp
I can't think of one place I've dined at that has stood out to me as one of the worst places I've ever eaten- until today. There were 3 tables when we walked in, so the place was pretty much empty. That didn't stop the food from taking forever to come to the table. Nachos were lacking cheese, like more than half were bare. There was also a metric ton of lettuce all over them. Kitchen staff seemed to be goofing around the whole time and it showed when it came to the actual meal. Caesar wrap had zero flavor and the chicken was chewy every other bite- completely inedible. Burgers were shaped as fat ovals instead of flat circles, making it so they didn't fit fully on the bun. Waitress forgot a drink order and we waited for over 10 minutes for her to bring it. This place should be called Below Average Joes.

Yelp
Wife and I stopped by for dinner and we started out with two drinks. The Dos Amigos (Casamigos blanco & sauza blue agave tequila, grapefruit, aperol, lime, ginger simple) and Pineapple PainKiller (House-infused pineapple rum, cream of coconut, oj, fresh pineapple, nutmeg). Both were very good and strong but not to strong. The bread service with the oil is always very tasty. Wife got the pulled pork sandwich without the cole slaw and I the margherita pizza. The Pizza was cooked perfect, the pulled pork sandwich looked sort of small. Maybe it was because she got it with out the slaw and substituted the fries for green beans. All in all the experience was a good night out for dinner. Waitress was pleasant and very accommodating.

Yelp
Always a nice place to stop in for a bite to eat. Very clean and love the look of the bar and restaurant. Very clean. Love the brunch menu. I had the turkey avocado club and it was fabulous. I am not a French fry person at all, but their shoe string fries are awesome. Crisp on the outside fluffy on the inside. Delicious! My friend had the impossible burger and was extremely happy with it. Again, I love the bloody Mary's and now they offer some great looking mocktails. I will keep coming back. Next time I may try the bar service again and see if there is some improvement there. Would love to give this place five stars!

Yelp
We've eaten here many times. Never, ever have we ever been anything but happy. The food is consistently good, fresh and flavorful. NYAJs always serves creative seasonal beverages that are delicious. All the staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. No wonder my husband and I return here time and again. We sit at the bar frequently and take in the games. They have 8 big screen TVs! The atmosphere is relaxing with a hip industrial vibe. Also, the TVs which are terrific are not blaring. They are set with closed captioning so conversation is easy. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Ordered doordash meals from here and they were delicious. The meals came with garlic type bread that was crunchy on one end and soft inside sooo good...it also had a dipping sauce of garlic and olive oil. We ordered the Chicken Caprese sandwich ..it was fresh and very tasty!....it came with onion strings which my daughter loved. We also had the Korean chicken tenders and a Greek wedge which were also great!...ive been sleeping on Not your Average Joe's for a long time but it will definitly be our new go to!!!

Yelp
I am stunned at how much the quality of the food has diminished. The fish was clearly not fresh, definitely frozen. Watery with an excessively "fishy" taste. Even the mashed potatoes were excessively loose. Seemed microwaved. The carrots weren't cooked. Hard as a rock. I have a sensitive stomach and actually began to threw up a little spontaneously. Service was very good. I won't be back. (Also, some drunk ?overserved men at the bar. 1 actually passed g@s seated at the bar!)

Dan A.

Yelp
When asked by our waiter if he could bring us drinks, I asked for a Guinness and an ice water with NO lemon because I am allergic to lemons. My friend ordered an ice tea and she placed her order: the dinner portion of the mustard crusted chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans, I got the same with sweet potato fries and green beans. When the waiter brought our meals he THEN mentioned that the chicken was prepared with lemon aioli. So I ate my fries and beans and brought my chicken home for others to enjoy. I hope he wasn't as disappointed with his $7 tip (12%) as I was with the main entree which I could not eat, but for which still paid full price. Too bad the waiter wasn't as pleasant as the ambiance. No manager seemed to be on duty and the waiter seemed unfazed when I put both portions of my chicken, completely uneaten, in a "to go" container. This was well below average.

Neeka P.

Yelp
The crispy chicken was so good!! There was wayyy too much dressing so next time I'd ask for it lighter. The crispy tortilla chips were also great and I'd definitely order it again.

Yelp
Helllo Yelpers! Greetings from Cape Cod, MA! Today's review is a good one. Service: When I first arrived I notice the place was not as busy. I asked for a table for one and was seated in a nice booth. I was greeted by a very nice young lady, who was extremely polite. I could tell she was in school and working hard. When she checked on me and the food, it was always done with a smile. She was willing and very patient when asking about food items on the menu. When she came to check in, it was just enough to where it wasn't annoying. Food: The menu was very well diverse. It had American Cuisine to Jamaican options to Italian. I started with a Stewart's Orange Cream soda. It was perfectly chilled. This sounds quite silly, but when drinks are too cold or not cold enough, it makes a huge difference. Next, I started with a cup of clam chowder. The smell was amazing; however, it was a bit too salty for my taste. Even adding the oyster crackers to it didn't off set the saltiness and the thickness of the soup. For the main dish, I ordered the Jambalaya. It was different than what I am used to, but still had good flavor. I was disappointed when it was more of a tomato, chicken, and shrimp combo with rice instead of a jambalaya. In my order, it only had probably a handful of sausages. For dessert (even though I was extremely full), I had the peanut butter thing. It's really what it's called. It was definitely amazing! Ambiance: The place has indoor and outdoor dining. It looks to have just been renovated, so everything still looked pretty new. The art work on the walls were not overwhelming and were simple touches to give the place a welcoming warmth. Overall, I gave this place 4 stars. It's really the service and the dessert that made me rate it as such. Hope you all enjoy and happy travel adventures!

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday night after the mall closed. Restaurant is located at the mall on the ground floor so there were plenty of parking spaces. Very spacious inside and large both seatings that's good for large groups. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We got the sheet pan nachos, house burger and a veggie burger. The nachos were plentiful and both burgers were cooked perfectly

Yelp
It should be called Below Average Joe's. I've been twice in the last 8 months. Mostly because their gluten sensitive menu is bigger than most places but both times the food was meh at best. Today me and my son paid for burgers we didn't even eat. It was the grossest gluten free bun I've ever had. They didn't attempt to warm it in any way. The bread was twice the size of the burger and it was crumbly and disgusting. The server ordered my husband's second drink wrong TWICE even though the first was correct... when the manager came around to deliver it the second time and my husband said it was wrong again, the manager gave our server the I'm going to kill you look and my husband out of the kindness of his heart said "I suppose I don't mind drinking it anyway" The manager said if you don't mind, set it down and left. Far too under staffed. Prices are way too high for the quality of food you get.

Yelp
I am visiting from California and was grabbing lunch with the girls, haven't been here for years. I noticed they had completely changed the set up of the restaurant, I was hoping for they didn't change to much on the menu. We were seated by a very nice girl, sorry didn't get her name, and within a minute or so we met our server Princess. Boy did the name suit her, from her great customer service, (which by the way, I have been in for over 30 years, and you really can't find it anymore) to the service and conversation. The food was Delish. We enjoyed French onion soup, amazing and some apps. I was happy to have met Princess and hope next time I visit I will be served by her.

Yelp
Came here after a busy conference at the Emerald Isle. Nice to have an affordable option for dinner and my dining partner appreciated the gluten free menu. Our server, Princess, was an absolute sweetheart and extremely attentive to us. The Korean Bowl was yummy and the drinks were fantastic as well!

David M.

Yelp
Just gross! 1/1/2025 ordered online and picked up a cape cod Ruben and a pulled pork sandwich. Greasy, salty, gross! Done with NYAJ's for good. Was once good but sold off each place. No quality now.
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
Went in to watch a football game, but they didn't get all channels and the tv screens were blue so the games that were on, were distorted, That would explain why no one was at the bar. Brunch is relatively new, the waitress (who never gave us her name) recommended the French toast. It was horrible! So soggy and not cooked all the way.

Liz M.

Yelp
This food is always great. The appetizer bread and oil is always delicious. I always get the chicken piccata and it's so yummy. They're very careful about my peanut allergy (my food gets handed to me by the manager and he explains that it's completely peanut free). I love when restaurants take my allergy 100% seriously so good job.

Yelp
Believe all the mixed and negative reviews for this NYAJ's located in the Cape Cod Mall...this place needs help. Closed for a year renovation, the interior has been nicely updated, but what happened to the food and management? Surely pales in comparison to others in this chain where consistency and quality at a decent price is the norm. Something has gone awry on the way to the Cape. The waitress arrived at our table with our appetizers and announced that our main dishes were already prepared and waiting. Did we want the dinners now (even before we dug into the apps) or she could keep them under the heat lamp? HUH? Asked to speak to the manager who couldn't understand why we were annoyed. He was confrontational, offered a hollow apology ("kitchen made a mistake, I guess") and nothing else. How about remaking the dinners after we finished our appetizers? Entrees were served lukewarm and the sides of mushy roasted carrots and brussel sprouts tasted like they were sitting on a buffet line for hours.

Stacy R.

Yelp
We have been watching this place go downhill and it hit an all time low. The service was awful it took 15 mins to order and another 45 mins with prompting for a cup of soup. We have been going to Not Your Average Joes since it was in Lexington and Hyannis is just awful. We used to be loyal customers for close to 20 years and will not return. Last night was it horrible service the managers do not support the staff at all and they can't manage to do simple orders. Not to mention being out of things that are on the "new" main menu. It's really sad to see what's happened to this place.

Francie L.

Yelp
Seated right way at 5:30PM on a week night. There were about 7 tables occupied and 3 people at bar. We waited over 10 minutes with no acknowledgement. A server headed our way but kept walking. Lots of activity with staff at the open kitchen area but they all seemed to be fooling around and talking. We left after 15 minutes and no one noticed. Terrible.
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
So I love NYAJ'S- but since moving here I stay away for the most part. I don't want to- but the customer service by what seems to be FOH manager? (Or Assistant maybe- he is at the host stand) is not what I have come to expect from Joe's. Always makes you feel unwelcome. Always makes you feel bad for anything you ask for. You know that you are paying a lot of money for? However... Jenn, our server was excellent. Food was fantastic. I hate not being able to go as often as I like.
google avatar

Corinne T.

Yelp
The service snd food are great. Joe's is one of my favorite restaurants in Hyannis. I always like going there.

Ed G.

Yelp
An evening visit in March 2023 Hyannis NYAJ's in the Cape Cod Mall . The restaurant is located in the front of the Mall on the right side and is visible from the parking lot on Rt 132. The restaurant was super busy. Every table looked filled and Bar also was totally filled. Its a good size restaurant and bar. It's updated and airy. Service was prompt at the bar. I ordered their Herb encrusted Haddock. I made sure to emphasis...." I wanted my appetizer's served first", as a prior visit everything was served all at once. They should know better!! The portion was huge it was cook perfectly and tasted super fresh. There were two sides with the entrée. Overall is was "excellent" that's the main reason I am writing this review. Too bad two other locations in Medford Ma. and Methuen Ma. had closed.
google avatar

P S.

Yelp
Food was very good but service was beyond horrific. There were maybe 8 other tables, so it's not like they were busy. Clearly my waitress was less satisfactory than the others however someone could've picked up her slack. I had to go to the bar to get myself a water after 25 minutes. The table bread was delicious and the chicken piccata was great!

Amanda S.

Yelp
Our server, Princess, was wonderful! So sweet and attentive! She had great food recommendations as well!
google avatar

Rene K.

Yelp
Since the redo ..the restaurant has gone downhill . The service is horrible .. the crew is rude ...don't waste your time or money
google avatar

Jenn S.

Yelp
We came here for a late lunch. At 1:30, there were only a few people here but many tables with dishes left on them. Server was great and nice. Focaccia was cold but tasty. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and my fiancé got the steak and cheese rolls. The buffalo chicken was weirdly sweet and tasted like bbq sauce but with a kick. Fiancé said steak and cheese rolls were good but mustard sauce was weird. I'd rather go to Five Guys next door for half the price and I know the food won't be weird.

Corinne Tallia T.

Yelp
The food and snd service are great. The ambiance is also very spacious and comfortable.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
New summer menu is really nice.... but something happened to their pizzas. I used to go weekly and the taste has changed, for the worse. please bring back the original crust.
google avatar

Victor B.

Yelp
Last couple of times I went here for take out I had a good experience, can't complain. Ordering through their website is fairly easy, and the food is always ready when they say it will be. Food nicely done, bag well organized, the bread and olive oil with spices they sent and appetizers make it even better! Place seems to be very clean and organized. Nice experience overall.
google avatar

Avi M.

Yelp
Their service is so grumpy I asked for one order of fries and it took 2 hours 13 min to get those fries ready and it was a SMALL
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
The food was average, the service was good but nothing special for the price. It was my first time at one of these franchises for NYAJ and unsure if I'll go again.

Alina B.

Yelp
Careless! All the staff was busy folding utensils. No hi. No bye. Had 3 tables only.

Danielle H.

Yelp
Visiting from Georgia so this was my first time here. Loved the hostess Princess! She was very welcoming as soon as I walked in and was very attentive to my table. She really stood out to me! Th food was great too lol. I would definitely this place and I hope when I come back Princess is still there!
google avatar

Erin G.

Yelp
Since their renovation, my husband and I have been here a few times, the food has gone downhill and the manager is incredibly rude. We were seated right away which was nice, we ordered and a few minutes later, our waiter came back saying they had no more meatloaf, we would need to order something else. No big deal, it happens.my husband ordered steak tips and I ordered a burger. Their attempt at presentation is laughable presenting the burger on a banged up cold metal tray. My husband's steak tips which he ordered medium were well done and tough. My burger which I ordered medium was well done as well and with no sauce on the burger, it was incredibly dry. Come on, burgers and steak tips are staples of your menu. I would have been better off going anywhere else. The best part about NYAJ was the consistency, sadly it has been lacking lately, I won 't be back.
google avatar

Anrana S.

Yelp
NYAJ is your basic mediocre American chain restaurant. We had trouble making our reservation for 16. After getting a bit of runaround, I had my friend with the Russian Mafia accent call - Lo and behold the manager was able to make room for us. Due to the runaround, I didn't feel bad when we arrived and our 16 had grown to 19. As for the food. The complementary bread is bland with no flavor. Made me realize that I'm not missing anything since I've chosen to eliminate bread from my diet. I wish I had a beaker on me since I really wonder if my Pinot Grigio was a full 9 ounces. The Mona Lisa salad was meh. And expensive for what I got. A plate of greens. 3 mozzarella balls. Maybe 2 strawberries sliced on top. And 4 or 5 mini chicken tenders. For $16. On the one hand, service was extremely slow. We waited a good 15-20 minutes for our tables - after being warned that our tables would be given away if we were late. And it took about 2 hours for dinner. But the waitress was great and issued 7 separate checks for our party of 19. Without us even asking. Would I be back? Not really by choice. But Cape dining is limited in December.

Yelp
one of the only "chains" I will go to. Joes is consistently good and never fails to deliver a delicious meal & unique drinks. As I'm sure you have read in every other review for Joes, the bread and dipping oil is to die for. I would leave happy just after that. For cocktails, the seasonal sangria is always yummy. If they happen to have the strawberry rhubarb sangria, GET IT!! It is truly a treat! The margaritas are also good made with all fresh juices instead of sour mix and they are huge! Perfect bang for the buck! For appetizers; we tried the Ahi tuna wontons which were extremely flavorful. Sesame crusted tuna sashimi on a crispy wonton smothered in wasabi aioli, ginger and a sweet eel sauce. (Pictured) yum! The mustard crusted chicken is amazing; and is what I usually get. Two chicken breasts with Panko mustard and a yummy dipping sauce. Served with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and flavorful green beans. You can see why I don't sway from that entree when I come here. The Caribbean buffalo chicken pizza is also extremely flavorful and I would recommend it. Enjoy joes!

Helen E.

Yelp
Service was horrible. Came to get lunch with a friend got drinks and food. Server didn't ask how the anything was or check on us at all throughout our meal. I wanted another drink and when she finally came over she asked if we needed boxes and started to walk away. Someone needs to teach Rachel how to smile and maybe you could work on serving after. Food was delicious would not recommend.

Devin R.

Yelp
Great service and food. Menu seems more limited than in past years, but there's a good selection nonetheless. The bread and oil is my favorite and a must have. The BBQ chicken pizza (build your own) was actually excellent. Always happy to go back when I'm in the Cape.

Yelp
Updating my original review- regarding burnt food- they contacted me same day apologizing and sent me an incentive towards next purchase- I will give them another shot

Alison M.

Yelp
The BEST meal I've had in a while!!!!!! So good, very fast and AMAZING service+food. Very pleased.

Brenda D.

Yelp
I should have read the reviews after it reopened but didn't as we have always loved Joes. We come here every few months and pretty much get the same take out order. This time was horrible. The homemade veggie burger that I love so much was clearly replaced with a frozen patty. The Caesar salad had no pizza crisps on them even though when I ordered I asked for extra. Even our favorite Caribbean tenders weren't as good as always. And the lack of attention to detail, I mean not putting in silverware for a To-go order!?!? Disappointing!!

Hailee B.

Yelp
I had a wonderful hostess named Kianna, she was wonderful and very patient with me and my large family! I told my friend how wonderful she was and she went in on Saturday too get food and she told me she watched the management make her cry! They are very unprofessional and had lost my family's business along with my friends!

Yelp
The Sunday buffet was awful. The eggs Benedict was inedible hard as a rock and most other food was cold. $28 all you can or cant eat. This place normally has good food but I would skip the buffet.
