Went on a Friday at 9pm. The restaurant was almost empty. Server was very sweet and would check on us frequently to make sure everything was good. The complementary Focaccia with garlic butter was really good. When asked they warmed it up a bit as it was a cold Halloween night. We ordered the Sweet and Spicy Cauliflower bites which were a bit bready and may be needed more of the sweet spicy sauce but were overall were good! We also ordered a Hot Honey fried chicken sandwich, the chicken was perfectly crispy outside and juicy inside. It was a very well balanced sandwich, Loved it! We ordered a side of Sweet potato fries and Brussel sprouts. The fries were extremely good, not oily at all, while the sprouts were slightly undercooked. Definitely going back to try their pizzas and pasta.

Great service and solid comfort food in Nashua, though the noise level was a drawback for our group. Our server was excellent—knowledgeable about the menu, attentive with check-ins, and friendly without being overbearing. Portions are generous, perfect for hearty appetites. The New England clam chowder was creamy but heavy on potatoes and light on clams. The complimentary focaccia bread with Parmesan-olive oil dip is a nice touch, though I found it a bit chewy and not as standout as advertised.Highlight: the BBQ meatloaf—highly recommended. Tender, flavorful with tangy BBQ gravy, mashed potatoes, and especially those herb-roasted (or glazed) carrots, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We dined with hard-of-hearing in-laws, and the lively atmosphere made conversation challenging (common complaint here). Still, a reliable spot for casual American fare. We'd return, perhaps off-peak or at the bar.

Google
While traveling for business a friend recommended the Nashua location. As is evident in my other posts, I enjoy finding a local spot to enjoy meals while I'm in an area working. I walked into Not Your Average Joe's with some excitement. Nice place, plenty of sports on the tv's, nice draft selection and friendly staff. I asked the bartender her recommendation and she was very excited to talk about the Oktoberfest menu. I was undecided between a bratwurst meal or the pork schnitzel with a potato cake, and red cabbage. She indicated people come to the restaurant just for the schnitzel. Needless to say, I was very underwhelmed. The food had very little flavor, the breading for the pork was partially burned (that was most of the flavoring). The staff was exceptional and the beer selection was great. I will without question visit again to try their standard menu. I'm hoping it is better than last night's meal. The sweet and sour cauliflower with blue cheese was tasty.

Went here with my company for a Christmas dinner/Get-together. I've been to this location a few times and they're very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our server did a great job with our 13 person party. As the food, I had the Ahi Tuna Poke bowl along with a coworker and my boss and we all thought it was very good. There is a good amount of ginger so be prepared for that as some might be turned off by that. I also had the Thai Old Fashioned and that was really good too. The atmosphere is good as always and there is a good sized parking lot. Overall Not Your Average Joe's in Nashua is a really good place to go whether it's for a date, an event, or you just don't want to cook.

Google
I really liked this place for their great beers and freshly made food. The olive oil and cheese combination with the bread was amazing. Highly recommended place to hangout in southern Nashua!

Google
One of my wife’s favorites… we like to go and get a smorgasbord of appetizers… great bread and garlic oil…kids love the pizza… good family friendly place…

Excellent food. Great bread service. I had the super crunch salad. It was a spectacular salad.

Google
Not Your Average Joe’s absolutely lived up to the name—we went all in and have zero regrets. We started with the steak and cheese egg rolls (yes, they are as good as they sound), then ordered the Chicken Parmesan, Korean Beef & Noodle Bowl, Teriyaki Glazed Salmon, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and the Twisted Mac & Cheese with BBQ pulled pork. Yes… we sampled everything. Yes… everything was delicious. And because moderation clearly wasn’t on the menu, we finished with desserts: the Molten Lava Cake for two (which we probably didn’t need but 100% wanted), the Peanut Butter Thing, and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Explosion. Every bite was worth it. Come hungry. Leave happy. And maybe bring stretchy pants.

Yelp
Love the vibe of the place and our waiter was very nice and checked in on us a lot!! The food was really good and the focaccia they start you off with is very very tasty I ordered the Italian sandwich and it was a very good sandwich!! And the sweet potato fries I ordered with it were very tasty as well

Yelp
The server was great in taking our orders and getting everything to us. However my meal of the Crusted Halibut and Broccoli was terrible, no flavor. And the broccoli was so overcooked and bland not even salt helped. My husband had the mac and cheese with buffalo chicken and said his was great. May try again another time but in no rush.

Yelp
Visited on Thursday about 2:30, and it was pretty quiet.... Perhaps the terrible tariff's fears are impacting outside dining along with everything else . Our service was prompt and efficient but perhaps a bit reserved for being at the bar. I had a Fiddlehead 14 oz. which was very good owever I thought a touch pricey @ $9+. For my lunch I had the turkey club with avocado, aioli, tomato and greens on an excellent toasted whole grain bread. Overall I was impressed and will dine here again.

Yelp
The food was ok. Nothing that really stood out. We got the chicken dumplings, Mediterranean pizza and a Thai chicken salad with the peanut butter thing for dessert. It was a $50 special that basically gives you a free app. The service was lacking. Slow to greet us, non existent when our water glasses were empty and we got our free bread with the app. Everyone else seemed to get it immediately when greeted.

Yelp
The food is exceptional and a great value. Tuna wontons are wonderful. We get them every time. Herb encrusted haddock is fresh with a house made tartar with dill that is exceptional. An iconic, consistent dish with perfectly cooked broccoli and mashed potatoes that are house made. Bartender was excellent. Bar service is consistently friendly and attentive. Just go here. I'll snob out for a minute. Been to 4 continents in last year and amazing restaurants. NYJ Nashua is a consistent, scratch cooked goodness. Chicken picatta is excellent. Modern interior. Just so good.

Yelp
We popped in and ordered their chicken parm, tuna tacos and their sweet and sour chicken. Food came out quickly and everything tasted great. Plenty of choices on the menu and a variety of flavors options. We had great service and enjoyed their bread service. But wish that they didn't mix canola with the olive oil. But the dip was great since it had garlic, herbs and Romano. The restaurant offers a happy hour at the bar. One day , I'll Be able to come back to partake

Yelp
The restaurant was pretty busy but we only waited about 15 minutes for a table. The staff was friendly and provided quick service but I didn't like it when the server picked up a piece of pizza off the floor with her bare hands. The jambalaya was amazing. I want more of that.

Yelp
I went there yesterday for a business lunch and it had improved a lot since the last time I had been there. The food was great and good quality. I had some chicken dumplings, fries & broccoli. The server was friendly and professional. It was quiet enough to carry on a conversation but not uncomfortably quiet. I liked it a lot and my colleagues & I plan to go again soon.

Yelp
Another family favorite that I try to get to whenever I am in the Boston area. NYAJ also has awesome apps, some of the best bread, and great food/drinks. I especially love their peanut butter thing dessert, although I haven't had it in years now. My sister and I met up with a friend here on New Year's Eve Day around lunchtime. It was not too busy, as expected and we were seated at a high top in the bar area. I stuck to a liquid diet (glass of bubbly) since we had an evening of festivities and a full buffet coming up! My sister ordered her usual malibu pineapple and the mustard crusted chicken and my friend went with the chicken piccata and a strawberry lime rickey. I had a couple bites of my sister's dish and thought it was okay, I've enjoyed some of their other entrees more. I'm happy to report that my bubbly was chilled to a crisp just the way I like it! Pretty standard pricing for the fare as well. We had a great time here catching up together and this will remain on my list of childhood/nostalgic favorites.

Yelp
While running a few errands in NH, I decided to grab something quick to eat and chanced upon this restaurant chain (that I've seen around but have never tried). They had stellar reviews online and sported a packed dining room...so that led me to make that bad assumption again that this would be worth a visit. Well, I guess the above-average part is the friendly service, great atmosphere, and the large selection of brews and juice, but when it comes to the food...it is absolutely lacking, boring, and just about pathetic. So much so, I had a scrunched face of confusion as I left. Food is definitely not your average Joe's. It's below average my friend. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing...but then again, if that is the case, leave it out of the menu. Just come thirsty and you'll have a blast.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere. Has a industrial pub type vibe. The staff excellent. The bread and oil they come out with first- DEVINE! All of the food was flavorful and huge portions.

Yelp
Good food with excellent service. Prices are comparable to other sit down restaurants in the area. Cold beer and great dessert. How can you go wrong!

Yelp
Great place in Nashua for brunch! Relatively quick service, great food, and VERY attentive waiter.

Yelp
The food was pretty good same with service the speed for getting our food was a little wait but not bad defined worth it

Yelp
A group of us were in town visiting friends and decided to DoorDash a meal from here. We ordered chicken piccata, the Cuban sandwich, jumbalaya, and chicken parm. The food arrived in a much better state than you sometimes get a Doorsash order. It was packaged well and included spicy garlic dipping oil and crusty bread. The dishes were all tasty however we all felt the dishes were overly salty. The jumbalaya was very well seasoned but would have preferred the sausage cooked separately and then added because it left a lot of grease in the dish that I soaked up with a napkin before eating it. These are small tweaks and we'd give it another go if in the area.

Yelp
I had reservations for a group of 12 for brunch - and it was a fantastic experience! In the reservations notes I said we were a book club, they set us up in a separate spot, offered separate checks without us asking, and offered to take a group photo! Our waiter was FANTASTIC! We all had a little bit of everything - everyone's food looked so good and the drinks looked even better. I would say - skip the chilaquiles, it's the only time I wish for nachos to be soggy, but instead this was just a plate of nachos. We will be back! Thanks for a great experience!

Yelp
Ya know, for a place called "Not Your Average Joe's", they seem pretty average to me. Most of that could be due to the average service we received. It could be due to the fact that their pizza looks better than it tastes. Or maybe....I'm just jaded. Whatever the case, this place is kinda middle of the road for me. It's not bad, but not exactly something I'd write home about. The very first thing that caught my attention about NYAJ was their menu. It's....safe. Like, it's about as average as you could possibly get. Not sure if that's unironic or not. But it's funny as hell! Now at first, I thought about getting the herb crusted haddock. But then I read a comment from another reviewer mentioning the profound blandness of said haddock. Then I also remembered that since a lot of other restaurants mess this up and the wife makes a way better version at home anyway, I'd just play it safe and order a bangin' shrimp appetizer with a cup of chowder and a small cheese pizza. Well, let me tell you.. The appetizers never even came. That is...until I asked. Turns out, the server forgot to put in the order for apps. In the end, I just skipped the shrimp and got the chowder; which was pretty frickin' good, I must say! The chowder had that fresh from the ocean taste to it. It's tough to explain. But if you're from New England, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It needed a little more seasoning, if any at all. A solid 9 out of 10 for this one. The pizza was pretty good, too. Two things I have issues with, however.. 1.) The sauce is a tad sweet for my taste. 2.) The crust was kinda thick on the end. Like, I LOVE the *pizza* part of the...pizza, cuz it reminds me of a classic NY style. But the crust was...overwhelmingly thick. I dunno why, but it seems like Bertucci's got this right back in the day. Well anyway, not too bad. I'd probably try the pepperoni next time to counteract the sweet sauce; 7 out of 10. And wouldn't ya believe it?? I ordered dessert! The Peanut Butter...thing. No, seriously. That's actually what it's called. It was...okay. Not really as peanut buttery as I'd imagine. And I'm a guy that loves peanut butter. The cookie crust was a nice touch. This one wasn't really all that memorable to me. 6 out of 10, could've been more peanut buttery. So, the service started out fine. And then just....trickled down to infrequent visits with forgotten orders and delayed returns. It was....okay....but not the greatest. Was it a staffing thing? Don't know. But let's just say I gave them the benefit of the doubt when deciding on the tip. Honestly guys, I'd say my favorite thing of the whole night was the clam chowder. I'd get a bowl of that stuff next time. As for returning? Well...perhaps if I wanted to try a burger or something. Maybe the bar service will be better. For now, I'm giving NYAJ 3 cups of fresh from the sea clam chowder out of 5.

Yelp
Food - Glad I stopped for random lunch. Great selection of Breakfast for weekend brunch, but lunch sandwiches are terrific, light options, perfect portion and healthy, even gluten free options available. Outstanding flavor and suggestions were great (I tried Chipotle Aoli) superb choice on BLT. Service - outstanding and personable. Ambience- Nice well appointed dining area and bar (if you're into that) separated. Kid family friendly and average food or higher price [with options] to build choices. The options and kind complementary bread and oil/Parmesan authentic and superb for family brunch or date-night weekend. Excellent service!

Yelp
Amazing Mai Thai. Love the staff always pleasant when I go in. I tend to get a lot of to go but when ever I make it into to Same. Food is always good I love that they have specials they run too
google avatar

Yelp
Pub atmosphere with large tables to handle 6-7 people. Exotic drinks were good. I recommend the pomegranate fizz for a non alcoholic option. Food was good portions and tasty. It was all about having a good place to go with a large group with lots of food and drink options. Plan on $40 per person for everything.
google avatar

Yelp
Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer over seaweed $15 for 8 tiny shrimp, a tablespoon of seaweed, such a rip off. Plus not very tasty, heavy breading. Disappointed and annoyed, won't do this again

Yelp
Ambiance is certainly top notch for the area - tres chic as the French say. Food was GOOD. Not spectacular but GOOD. Service was very friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Last meal here while visiting New Hampshire. First time eating here 5/5 hands down the crab cake was so good. Would order again. One of the Top 5 crab cakes I've had so far. Not dry and very flavorful. The crab cake did have some shell pieces. I would chew carefully. Sirloin tip I would give it a 3/5 The Mash Potatoes actually tasted better than the steak on top. Took me by surprise. Steak was still a little bit tender, but I felt like it could have been on the grill a little longer for that extra char. Service was pretty mid. The restaurant was busy, and so was our server. Wanted some A1 sauce, but our server never came back around to ask us how the food was for me to ask for the sauce Also, the random tip the lighting in the restaurant got really dim. Dimmer than usually lighting at restaurants.

Jen E.

Yelp
First time here! We started with the Irish egg rolls which were delicious. The dipping sauce was so good. We then had bangers and mash which were awesome. I loved being able to choose something different. It was a great experience and we will be back.

Yelp
I've had consistently solid meals at any NYAJ location, and this one was no exception. We arrived for an early dinner on a Saturday night, and there was quite a wait for tables when we got up to leave. No surprise~ the food is good, the drink offerings are creative and fun, and the menu is varied enough to satisfy most of us. Our table had 2 orders of the herbed haddock and a fish and chips. We started with small Caesar salads. Both haddocks had to go back to the kitchen, as they were underdone. This was handled beautifully by the staff; our server whisked them away with an apology and a manager delivered fresh plates, all newly made, very quickly. The haddock and salad were delicious, and I'll order both again. Service was efficient, helpful and friendly. It gets loud in here when the place fills up, but overall a clean and attractive spot.

Amyle R.

Yelp
service was average food was okay, mocktails were a little overpriced ambiance of the place was pretty nice!

Yelp
Love eating here. Every time my husband and daughter come here for a meal we're leaving satisfied. Thank y'all for the great food and service

Yelp
Not Your Average Joes, is certainly not average....at least what I got. I have been to Not Your Average Joe's years ago and brought my Mom. She loved the baked haddock she got and she wasn't impressed with many restaurants. The other night we have been out shopping and decided to stop in the Nashua location. The interior is very well decorated and darkly lit. There are lamps above the tables which give plenty of light for eating. Shortly after we sat down, our server brought some Focaccia bread and oil with cheese, red pepper, garlic and herbs. I ordered a Cosmo which was very delicious. We decided to just get dinner as it was 8:00 and pretty late. I ordered Chicken Piccata and hubby ordered Chicken Parmesan. I will say the dinners took way too long to come out. It was 9:00 before they came. And...there were only 3 or 4 other parties in the restaurant. The server was very apologetic but honestly, I think he forgot to put the dinners in. Anyway, they offered us free dessert for our trouble. My piccata had a super crunchy exterior (bread crumbs I believe) and the sauce was very lemony just the way I like it and a good amount of sauce. The chicken was very tender and delicious. Very, very good. And I get Chicken Piccata everywhere I go. My husband didn't enjoy his as much as his chicken cutlets appeared to be quite a bit thinner than mine and cooked way more. He said the sauce was very good though. I took the rest of mine home and the next day the exterior of the chicken was still crunchy! Very, very good. All in all, I loved it, he said it was OK. Go figure.

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday for dinner. Large open space with nice bar area. Friendly staff. Follows covid guidelines. On the more costly side in regards to..well everything so just know what to expect. I knew this already coming in so it was no surprise. We started w the ahi tuna that was amazing. You have a choice of having the tuna on cucumbers, wonton, or both. We had both. 5/5 My husband had the chicken parm. Large portion of 2 breasts w linguine. 4/5 I had the marinated steak on a bed (more like thin sheet) of potatoe and spinach glazed w balsamic. 3/5 Pros: The presentation was superb. The steak tips were nice and tender as well as perfectly cooked. Cons: Price $26 Not filling- this sat on a VERY small portion of mashed potatoe and spinach. The balsamic glaze slaps you in the face w a tart flavor. It was off putting. The tips needed more flavor Suggestions to restaurant: consider doing this dish w average portion of potatoe and veggie on side. Change brand of balsamic glaze that eliminates the strong tartness. Bill for app, 2 entree, 1 beer, Arnold palmer (non alcohol) was $72 before tax.

Yelp
It's fine. Typical chain restaurant w decent food. Quick go to for a "it just right here" dining.
google avatar

Laura K.

Yelp
Had a great server (hence the extra stars), but not sure how our meal made it past quality control. Horribly burnt chicken made it just about inedible. This was the gluten free mustard crusted chicken we had yesterday. Ugg!

Jeannette P.

Yelp
Very disappointed with this location. We ordered the jambalaya and it literally tasted like it was previously frozen and then microwaved. For $24 this was really ridiculous. Besides that their drinks were on point and their bread was fantastic, but that did not make up for the entrée. Would not recommend.

Pete H.

Yelp
Menu is large,Food is always consistent, decent atmosphere, good draft beer choices. Service is always good.

Chelsey E.

Yelp
The bread, as always was delicious in the butter sauce. I got a pineapple painkiller and my sister got a Moscow mule. They were small but very refreshing. I also tried the seasonal Sangria which was a white wine and strawberry, this was absolutely delicious. For food, got chicken piccata and she got tomato grilled cheese soup. The food was really good, the chicken piccata was crunchy and the pasta was perfect, the tomato soup was seasoned well and the grilled cheese was melty and perfect. All in all a really good expirience, also the waiter was super friendly and attentive(Graham). Also I did not partake in dessert but according to my sister and niece the chocolate cake and sorbet were awesome.

Cora M.

Yelp
I just love the food here, it's all great quality and a very friendly staff and atmosphere. I've come a few times since living in NH and have a great meal each time. Their pizza is by far the best I've had so far in town, and the salads are perfect. I did get a platter of nachos once and I wasn't a fan of the chipotle sauce, I would definitely like a more simplistic option for nachos but overall, it was still nice quality. This will be one of my go to restaurants for a great meal.

M B.

Yelp
Usually a decent meal, but last visit the food was luke warm, floors very dirty. Not going back.

Yelp
THe Joke is any Alcoholic that gives this place 4 to 5 stars, 3s are from people with avg Taste, here you go, Ready, who marks this 2$ bring your wallet for Subpar Food. Ready. walking up, the AVER is out on the sign, to make it look like a Cheap Motel, take the hint, walk in, the Hostess, Nice and Friendly, We ask because it is so LOUD, if we could have the table way off to the side, Get a FRIGGIN EYE ROLL, should have left, but NOPE, so to continue, IT IS GOOD FRIDAY, Not even 8 PM and OF Course, they are out of Haddock, the only reason we went. BUT Instead of leaving, hear they have shrip, OK, it gets better, Break Comes, COLD, STALE Bread, ah, really should have left, OH No cappachino, ( someone tell me why the manager or chef was Foolish enough not to order extra Haddock for Good Friday ) so this comes with this oil, Junk, take a dip stick from your car, it will taste better on your stale bread. shall I go on, we got 2 Mac and Cheese with 5 shrip 45 dollars, and because I got Pene, I got ( I am not kidding you ) a quart of the bowl, there is more to this but I do not want to fault our watress WHO defended all this, The Hide and Go seek Manager was going to come to our table, then Pulled a No Show, YES I kid you not, we get the Check, Pay of course, and leave a 15% tip, oh, and the Mac and Cheese, more like Cheesy Soup sauce and while our Plates were Hot, our food, well, luke warm, actually Cold by the time we finished and like I said, I had a quarter of a bowl. this is More like a Sports bar that serves food, BUT Bring your kids, they are indeed welcome, they even have a kids Menu, Leaving my Girl has to use the bathroom, so me and my friend are standing up front, THE MANAGER comes by, SHE is Just walking past us without even looking at us, I LAUGH and say AH HELLO, she half turns says a quick Hello then goes behind the Hostess spot, WHICH we are standing less then 4 feet in front of at the door, AND SAYS NOTHING, Not, did you enjoy your meal, I guess, they knew the answer, PLEASE, experiance this for yourself, you can have a good laugh, we did,

Yelp
I love to eat and drink at this place but just have a hard time smiling when the bill comes. The food is certainly better than average but the prices are for the best of the best more or less. I could sit at the bar and stuff myself on bread with dipping oli / seasoning for 24 hrs straight if not indefinitely!. Unfortunately I think the covid bs has killed their ability to hire, and more importantly, retain exceptional wait staff. I've met some of the best servers eating and drinking here but have seldom seen them twice
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
The service was good, food was okay. Not great but just okay. The bang bang shrimp appetizer was a big disappointment --very bland with absolutely no reason to call it "bang bang' shrimp. Most of all though, post covid, their menu has been reduced and all their prices are up sharply.... Probably 30-40%. Lunch for 2 used to cost $50-55 with a beer or two. Today it was $88 including a $10 tip.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and decor. The bread that came before the meal was good, but the dipping sauce that came with the bread was amazing. It was cheesy and garlicky and salty goodness. The Ahi Tuna Salad was really good. The mango chunks they used weren't ripe enough though. I think they could've waited a few more days and it would've been perfect. It was a little hard, so I didn't eat the mango. Enjoyed my experience overall.

Yelp
Party of 6 adults 2 kids- great table - server seemed newish was not as attentive as she should have been but pleasant. Food was disappointing- asked if haddock was fresh - assured it was delivered daily. Def 2-3 days old-I would've sent it back but I didn't feel like it would be replaced by anything better, even the pizza wasn't great & The sandwiches came out wrong. Our table was in the corner by large windows and there were flies buzzing around everywhere to the point I asked for a flyswatter. I wanted to leave immediately but we had a large party & we met there w/ a reservation, it would've been difficult to go anywhere else having said that we did have a very good time even though the food was awful. The service was lacking

Frank R.

Yelp
Managers treat employees horribly. Observed a manager berate a teenage employee bringing them to tears. Ruined my experience after I observed this behavior. Won't eat at a restaurant that treats employees poorly. Unacceptable

Melissa H.

Yelp
Food was good. Server was real nice and ambiance is cool as well. Location is obviously perfect and plenty of parking!

Yelp
Overall, the food is excellent here large portions very good, especially the chicken Parm, the lobster roll and the chicken BLT all fantastic. The lobster roll can be a little pricey, but it's well worth it.

After a long travel day, the food here was just what the doctor ordered. We started with dessert and got the peanut butter cake, which is completely frozen like a block of ice. That made it something of a hindrance to eat, but as the ice cream melted a bit, it was really quite good. The meals were exactly what we expected, and the service was sublime. One of the better experiences we've had recently. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
I just love the food here. Every time me and my boyfriend eats here we always get served the right food on how we like our food. The service is always nice and the place is a good area where it's not crowded and dont have to wait

Yelp
We enjoyed the nachos and chicken dumplings. Then we ordered the penne pasta, sweet n sour chicken bowl and chicken BLT. The service was great and the food matched the service. The ambiance is upscale pub.

Yelp
Well I didn't find anything above average here. I was seated but nobody came by to give me a menu, drink, weather report, etc. I moved myself to the bar and ordered fish and chips. It was boring and the fries were room temp at best. Dessert was OK. The bartender was ok but not much of a conversationalist. So it wasn't very busy and the service was not very good. Food was edible, nothing special. Go somewhere else, but where?
