Group dinner with 45..they handled it smoothly we had 4 choices for entree. Picture is veggie bowl was excellent not mushy perfectly seasoned. Other options bbq meatliaf w mashed potatoes...husband loved it ..bang bang shrimp and mustard crusted chicken. All were great. Saw lots of pizza and takeout go out the door on Friday night..nice patio and bar too. Would love opportunity to explore more of menu...

Samantha W.

Google
I enjoyed my tomato soup and grilled cheese. They were helpful about my allergies. I would probably go again and get the same meal again 😊

Margaret W.

Google
Awesome food! Forgot to take pictures of the main meal but got the appetizers! Always a good time here and they are very accommodating for allergies and work to use alternate ingredients. Will visit again!

Mandee M.

Google
Their chicken and shrimp bowl was delicious!! And the bread that they bring to your table is probably the best restaurant bread my partner and I have ever had.

Samara P.

Google
Celiac friendly with a clearly marked menu and knowledgeable servers. Even had gluten free bread to bring to the table.

Christina F.

Google
Food was average. Atmosphere was dead. Waiter wasn’t the nicest. Also two mice were running around when I was there and it really freaked me out.

L Q

Google
Great service. All the food are delicious except the chicken are always dry. The salmon and ahi tuna are better.

Google
NYAJ's is a solid restaurant. Some of the dishes seem to "try too hard"; some are conceptually off. (For example, I think they're the only place where I've had cucumbers and apples in the same salad. Seasonal mismatch?) Still, I come away enjoying the food, if I don't think too much about it. Service is friendly and the restaurant is pleasant.

Yelp
Adding new photos from a second visit!!! Food was just as delicious, maybe even better this time. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, drinks were tasty, and the vibes were great. Thankful NYAJ is so close & will continue making it a regular place we visit!

Yelp
Delightfully creative menu for what I thought was a pizza place. I had the crab bisque with sherry that could have come straight from Spain. We ordered the Whipped Feta Dip with white beans , cucumber and feta. My friend had The Burger- excellent! Very friendly service and nice atmosphere.

Yelp
Fabulous menu! Excellent staff! Reasonable prices! There's nothing not to like about this place. It's far from home, otherwise we'd dine here regularly. Book early, it can get crowded.

Yelp
I came here to celebrate a coworkers last day. We had a mix of apps. I tried the buffalo chicken tenders and the shrimp and they were both alright, with a little more credit given towards the tenders. I also enjoyed the Poke Bowl, but would have enjoyed it more if the Ahi Tuna were a little fresher, or perhaps not frozen. The prices for the food and drink are a little higher than normal. Also, there were complaints in our party about the ambience and the Frankenstein mesh of design and display in the restaurant.

Vincent C.

Yelp
Just about everyone satisfied with the food. Nice decor. In Watertown, maybe second largest concentration of Armenian-Americans in the USA, did you know?

Yelp
Recently, while in the Boston area, I decided to stop at this Not Your Average Joe's for lunch. I got their cheese pizza, which for $10 (small) is not a bad price. The crust was nicely browned and crispy, but the cheese topping itself was a bit bland. I had to add grated parmesan and red pepper flakes to make the pizza taste better. My waiter was nice but not overly friendly. They have locations in many Northeastern states, and I love their large menu with lots of appetizers, salads, burgers, entrees and such.

Yelp
Great ambience, decent food and drinks and friendly service sums it up for Not your average Joe's! Stopped by for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon so it was fairly empty. We ordered both the mocktails and they were good though I liked the one with the ginger better than the pomegranate one. Nachos were a huge portion, jambalaya was a tad too salty but otherwise flavorful, the Smokey Joe's burger was alright kind of greasy. The best part was the chicken dumplings- yummy! Could definitely have had another order of that- everyone enjoyed them very much! Overall nice experience and really glad they survived the pandemic and are thriving.

Yelp
I've been to NYAJ's in Watertown and Waltham more times than I can count over the years and it never disappoints. The menu is reliable and they change it up a little on occasion, but my go-to's (burger, pizza, fish and chips) are always there. We wound up in Watertown because I had a birthday coupon burning a hole in my pocket. At 5:30 on a Thursday it was pretty empty, which was perfect as when it is full it can be noisy. Drinks and their delicious bread and flavored oil were served right away by our fantastic waitress. I had a glass of sauvignon blanc and the NYAJ burger with blue cheese, tomato, lettuce, and caramelized onions, with a side of onion strings. Companion #1 had grilled cheese and tomato basil soup; Companion #2 had Mustard Crusted Chicken BLT. My burger was cooked to perfect and the roll sturdy enough to hold the mile-high ingredients but soft enough to easily bite into. The strings were a little, well, stringy, but very tasty. My companions pronounced their meals tasty and took home what they couldn't finish. (Sadly, not enough left on my plate to take home.) NYAJ's is my go-to when I want a reasonably priced meal of American food, a comfortable environment and speedy service. Keep up the good work, NYAJ's!

Yelp
We went here before an evening appointment for drinks and apps. Ended up having some beer, cocktails, and food. So good limited number of beer taps and full bar with a page of signature cocktails. Whisky and scotch collection is moderate size and quality with a couple surprises. Food is a big classic to a couple extra special items. Very neuvo American bar-bistro. The place is popular and the food is quality and fresh ingredients. This place is always full of people so people like it. Prices are moderate-high especially for an wannabe olde-fart like me. Stage is friendly and competent. Our bartend, because I prefer siting at the bar, was very busy this evening. Hey manager, you need more staff for a Friday night and train some people up as bar backs. Geez louise! The place feels all modern bistro bar which fits. Bathrooms are clean, pet peeve, and these fold passed. Someone is pay attention. Staff helps each other especially the busy bartender. Kitchen is cranking and even the pizza oven area didn't stop the whole time we're were there. I have been to this place one and off for 25 years, it still a good place to come. Nothing adventurous but I would bring anyone here and be confident on having a good time.

Yelp
Staff, service, and chefs all very friendly and hard-working and should be commended. Comments mainly about the creativity on the menu, given the price points - the tomato vodka penne was certainly well executed; probably needed a little more leafy green on the side (to balance out the richness of the dish itself). The penne was fine and the sauce was rich and creamy as expected. Wished the flavor profile was more exciting though; with these price points ($25 which include the 4-meatball add-on) would have liked to see more defined concepts on the plate. The type of meal that makes you regret not making the food for yourself. The space feels oddly airy and open.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
It's great that NYAJ offers gluten free food however the price is exorbitant and entirely not worth it. I'd rather make it at home. Better portions, tastes better, and WAY cheaper.

Yelp
If you enjoy listening to people at the tables next to you blast cartoons at full volume from tablets or laptops while their children scream away or run wild, then this is the restaurant for you. I feel bad for the people working here. They seem very nice and are clearly understaffed and struggling. But allowing parents to turn this place into their living room definitely makes me want to stay away.

Yelp
I knew not your average joes wasn't "fine dining" prior to coming here. I understood it wouldnt be an amazing mouthwatering experience, however i did not expect to be spitting out my food in disgust and opting out of ordering a meal due to how incredibly awful the appetizers where. The pan nachos where burnt, dry, meatless, and tasteless. I made better nachos in my college dorm. The philly cheese stake egg rolls is what really got me. Doughy, undercooked, and filled with greese. I had to spit it out! Also why cover the bottom of a finger foods plate with sauce that makes it gross to touch with said fingers? Managers and staff are delightful, but the food is a solid 0/10. Always trust your gut and dont eat at not your average joes. Not average in a bad way....

Yelp
OK food, the lobster was fresh, ambience soso but hard area to get food from Waltham.

Yelp
I came to NYAJ for the first time a few days ago and let me just say I was STUNNED with the great service! Our waitress, Serena, was so so kind to us and was making us laugh all night! What a sweet and lovely woman! And the food was fantastic! My new favorite restaurant!
google avatar

Keith C.

Yelp
Very disappointing. $21 for two tiny strips of mostly-bread overdone fish pieces? And the gf rice 'pilaf' was plain rice. They get a star for handling allergies well, both dairy and gluten. Decent child portion of pasta. But over 35 minutes at 5:30 on a Tuesday is a little ridiculous!
google avatar

Lynn S.

Yelp
So disappointed in this group. Went with the family and 2 of the meals were just terrible. 2 Burgers with fries and they were stone cold! ( They did replace them so that was nice and they were hot this time) One of the salads had apples in it and the apples were not crisp , they were soft and soggy . I eat a lot of apples so an apple should be crisp so clearly the apples were not fresh. then they put dressing on the salad. Sever was okay, we tried to have conversation with her , just friendly chatting, not too much as we don't want to keep a peson from making tip but she'd walk away in the middle of our conversation.

Yelp
Waste of money not sure what happened but this was so disappointing I have purchased this appetizer before but this was truly disappointing the seaweed sale looks like scraps and shrimp portions was not good.

Hil V.

Yelp
Still obsessed with NYAJ buffalo chicken pizza. It truly is not your average with their mango buffalo sauce and nice addition of chives. Have had so many good meals here. My bf was obsessed with the crab cake entree while it was on the menu. I'm also a huge fan of the penne alla vodka. I love that they always have monthly themed specials so if you want try something new you can. The bread and oil they give is a highlight as well. Service is also always great, very friendly and helpful servers.

Yelp
Nice place to come in for a lunch snack. Definitely overpriced for the food that they serve. However, they make up for it in the service that they provide. Such sweet bartenders and servers that work here.

Yelp
Quick service - with no wait to sit. Cozy atmosphere with a large gluten free menu. All the food was delicious but the soup came out cold. Large parking lot in back made parking easy and stress free. Would definitely go back

Kimberly Q.

Yelp
I never leave reviews but this needed be expressed. I called at 3:30 on Friday afternoon to ask if they would take a party of 16 at 6:30. The manager was so kind and accommodating. We ended up finishing the gymnastics meet (after winning!) so I called and the moved the reservation up to 5:30 with no issue at all. Our server Jess was so kind and patient. She mentally took note of all the families and spilt the checks without being asked. The food came out quickly and I had the best dirty martini ever! This is truly an amazing establishment highly recommend!!

Yelp
We just had arguably the worst restaurant experience in as long as I can remember. I have worked in restaurants for over 20 years, from casual to high end fine dining, but last night's experience was beyond unacceptable! Not exaggerating when I say it was absolutely detestable! I did my research for Boston area restaurants who serve HOT lobster rolls with butter....this being New England, it's admittedly not that easy. I CALLED the Watertown location, and talked to LISA who then transferred me directly to the chef, who ASSURED me he can arrange for a hot lobster roll. We went to the Watertown location, all excited to cap off a wonderful weekend, and I could not regret going to this restaurant more! We ordered the lobster roll, I DID mention that I called ahead, talked to Lisa, etc, and was assured it could be arranged. We wait, and wait, and the lobster roll comes out...not even lukewarm, with mayo... Ok, maybe the message didn't get through to the kitchen, maybe the server was new.....so we sent it back, but not before the manager came over and (insincerely) apologized. I politely clarified and explained the situation again. He took the roll away, and as he walked away, I SAW the most disgusted lip snarl and aggravated look on his face (unacceptable as well).... Ok, so the solution is throw the lobster into some device which would warm it up, melt some butter, and try again... OVER HALF AN HOUR LATER, and after I finished my meal, the lobster roll comes back....and somehow the lobster in THIS one is COLDER than the FIRST one...my dining partner was literally pulling FORKFULS of SOLID CHUNKS OF BUTTER out of the sandwich...this is not only insulting, but it should be an embarrassing display from the restaurant... In the time it took for the lobster roll to come back, staff (or us) have gone to the movie theater about a mile away, gotten some melted butter, and come back... But instead, we were getting more and more disgusted as we WATCHED the manager DELIBERATELY take travel paths on the OTHER side of the restaurant to INTENTIONALLY avoid us....this, too, is unacceptable and childish. No apologies, no "it'll be right out," no offers for another dish, or even more bread or an appetizer....NOTHING! Furthermore, when the recently-(barely)-thawed lobster DID come out, it was DISGUSTING and almost gritty in texture...my date didn't even end up eating it. The server, who DID (try to) apologize had the GAUL to actually say he'll bring the check...did he actually think we were going to PAY for this ridiculous trainwreck of an experience?! We didn't want to go all the way to Boston's seaport district, or Copley....it was a wonderful, flawless weekend, and we wanted to end it on a good note....this one experience greatly overshadowed and completely ruined the weekend, like falling off a cliff. We had to get up at 5am for our jobs this morning, and wanted to eat and go home...,not spend LITERALLY HOURS waiting for our meal. This was a waste of lobster A waste of time A waste of experience And to think we were going to waste money on this excuse for a tv dinner is laughable. This, in addition to their disgusting flavored lemonade! My date ordered watermelon lemonade and it could not have tasted MORE alcoholic! And she does NOT drink AT ALL....the server said it was the mixer....ok, but normally you mix alcohol with a soft drink, not the other way around... As I recall, the last time I visited this location, it had the same taste...terrible! I was embarrassed, and apologized PROFUSELY, for something that was NOT AT ALL my fault....the server apologized....but did the manager offer ANYTHING? No bread No app No dessert And HE DIDNT even apologize... Just snarled his lip as though the PAYING GUESTS were an inconvenience to him. We would have asked to speak to a manager, but he probably would have spit in our food (if he didn't already). There is competition in Watertown There is competition in Boston and the area There is competition between wasting money on restaurants where the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have noticeably skyrocketed... We should have stayed home and had a salad...or maybe actually gone to McDonald's if we wanted a hot meal. I believe in redemption and second chances, but I don't know if I want to even try again at this location. I don't even know if it's worth trying. $35 for a lobster ice cream sandwich is ridiculous! We tipped the server because he didn't do anything wrong....but there are no adjectives strong enough to accurately describe this horrendous, unacceptable, embarrassing experience. I've worked for good management I've worked for bad management I worked at the statistically lowest-ranking restaurant in a certain chain.... But I have never had such a terrible experience with NO attempt to recover, or even offer a FAKE apology. Unacceptable

Hunter D.

Yelp
I've come here many times as the food is just fine and the service is good. Tonight though, the baked French onion soup was a bowl of mistakes and possibly arrogance. It needed to be sent back to be heated properly, and once I actually started eating it, I had to stop because it was disgusting. The onions were undercooked, the broth tasted like they chose to add vinegar instead of wine, and the cheese was the wrong kind for the soup so it just congealed into a lump. Whomever created this, not just made it, but planned the recipe, needs to removed from decision making in the kitchen. Cuz Damn. What stars given are for the great waitstaff/bartenders.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for Sunday brunch, although we opted for the dinner menu rather than ordering off of the tiny brunch menu. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and were quite impressed. They started us off with bread for the table, and while I wasn't a huge fan of the oil and Parmesan dip, the bread itself was very fresh and delicious. We also ordered the ahi tuna wonton appetizer, which was also excellent. I had the veggie burger and my husband had the backyard burger with guacamole added. These were also good, although I was more impressed with the appetizer. The veggie burger was very unique - I've never had a quinoa and sweet potato based veggie burger before - and while it was good, it wouldn't make my list of favorite veggie burgers. In addition to the food, they also had a nice mocktail menu. I tried the raspberry pop and my husband had the pomegranate fizz. I'd definitely recommend the raspberry pop! The dessert menu looked great, too, although we were too full to try it. Next time, maybe I'll just try an appetizer and dessert.

Yelp
The best meatloaf sandwich ever... Perfect for today. RIP The Waldorf salad is amazing too!

Carolann B.

Yelp
The service was good. However, the fish I ordered needed to be cut with a fork and knife ~ to me an indication that it was old ~ and I could only eat a few bites. My friend order a Poke Bowl, which came with fish, and she was not able to eat the fish either. This was on a Friday, when one would certainly expect to very fresh seafood. How very disappointing!

Michael L.

Yelp
I have had good meals at other NTAGJ locations, but our take out dinner from Watertown was sub-par. The tomato soup was without flavor, and gave me indigestion (I'm guessing out of date milk). The chicken parm tomato sauce tasted like right out of the can, and the fish and chips portions were tiny.

Yelp
Good American food. Burgers and fries but with great and speedy service. Very family friendly and consistent quality food
google avatar

Savannah H.

Yelp
Food prices have gone up over the past few years but the food has actually started tasting more bland than before. They used to have creative unique dishes that tasted amazing but have really gone downhill, not sure if they changed management or chefs. Also at the bar, you could be one of 3 people and have an empty glass and the bartender will be in the corner chatting with the servers and not come by for a while. Key lime pie is pretty good, but not sure if it makes up for all of that.
google avatar

Rashid Q.

Yelp
Astonishingly poor experience, not characteristic of previous visits. Ordered beer-battered fish & chips. Fish arrived coated in oily panko (not remotely beer-battered!), accompanied by warm, limp, almost tasteless cole slaw, and a container of insipid tartar sauce that actually had a skin on it. No, really. My feelings of anticipation/trust were totally laid waste by seeming indifference to quality. With so many other options in the area, have no qualms about exploring other options in the future.

Yelp
We had the worst service I've had in a long time. The waiter was aloof. Could care less about us. I've been to the NYAJ's in Arlington before so I knew they had delicious bread and oil. The server didn't bring it to us or offer it to us. I asked for it and be never brought it to us. Finally, a half hour later, and I'm not exaggerating, I asked a manager and he brought us some. They messed up our order. Whatever. They fixed it and took an item off the bill. It just wasn't an enjoyable experience. The food was ok. No fantastic. I won't come back to this location for sure.

Yelp
Ambience: B+ Cleanliness: A Customer Service: A Food: B Price: B- Price -Its a bit pricey for what it is. I would say pricing wise it about in line with a TGIF without the daily specials. Atmosphere -It has a very trendy new-age feel. Its nothing fancy but it has a fun feel to it. Customer Service -I've come here a few times and I've never had any problem with service. Even when they've been very busy service doesn't seem to be effected. Food -Good, not great, but good. There chicken Waldorf salad is very yummy, though its a bit small for the price paid. There bread is delicious...though that might just be the olive oil and parm cheese mixture they serve it with. Overall -It's a solid option. Its still very much a chain but a decent chain.

Yelp
Quality and service has gone downhill over the years. The chicken on my grilled chicken salad was overly charred and almost burned. When I complained the waiter gave me attitude so I asked for the manager. When the manager came out, they gave me a similar attitude saying "the menu clearly says the chicken is grilled". Indonr plan to go back. There are plenty of family owned restaurant options to choose from where they don't take their clients for granted.

Ann H.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with our recent visit. When we arrived I asked for gluten free menus, was told okay on to arrive at the table and find we had not been given gluten free menus. The meal was fine, but as soon as our forks touched the table, they brought the bill. Never asked if we wanted coffee or dessert.

Yelp
Love this place! Fun, open atmosphere, young crowd, & healthy options. I had the grilled salmon with Brussels sprouts and broccoli and a glass of Malbec. Perfectly prepared. Super friendly waiter. Who was very nice and asked us if we wanted more bread without having to ask. This will be my go to place in Watertown. Recommend as a fun, upbeat, relaxing place to go with a variety menu-- there is something for everyone. Also note that they had a significant gluten free menu wirh I'm assuming gluten free breads. Very impressive place. Also lots of parking behind back.

Vivianne G.

Yelp
The waitress Caroline started with the drink orders but after taking everyones order she just walked away without taking mine. Got my ordr in on second pass. no worries. Mistakes happen. But then I get my meal and it is ice cold. Not luke warm even. Not sure what I did to her but I wont be going back.

Yelp
Got small pizza takeout. Buffalo chicken pizza is more of a kids' dish than a culinary delight for adults. If there's actual Buffalo sauce or hot sauce on it, it could not be detected under all the mozzarella cheese and ranch-like dressing. (Recommend ordering without mozzarella.) Chef should try using blue cheese dressing with actual blue cheese crumbles! And use actual Buffalo or Tabasco sauce; maybe provide hot peppers on side. Worst is the breaded, fried chicken chunks. While fine as chicken Nuggets, nobody wants breaded meat on their pizza! Irony is they serve all this with big chunks of focaccia--which is generally very good with the hot garlic dipping oil. Both app and ordering website are buggy and sorely in need of functionality updates.

Yelp
I have to be honest here - I am pretty impressed with this restaurant. I was invited here by a friend and was a bit hesitant to go (I thought it was your typical chain restaurant...). I was very wrong! They have a huge menu featuring some unique seasonal options that change every few months. They have plenty of vegetarian dishes, too! Yes, the food was great. This being said, the bread stole the show. They bring out a huge bread basket with oil and parmesan... I probably could have eaten the entire basket for dinner alone. Our server was a bit odd, but the food made up for it. The ambiance is great, and would certainly be accommodating for a large group or family. I will definitely be stopping by again if I am in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
I used to love this restaurant. They jacked their prices up so much and shrink meal sizes so much. I don't see a reason to go anymore I know with Corono life is hard for them. You will think they will want people coming in. I am sure their management numbers to hit and places to be. I wish them good luck. They won't see me spending my money in their establishment again.

Yelp
Food was ok. Chain restaurant food quality. Margaritas are a below average mix. Service was good.

Yelp
I'm in Watertown visiting my sister and she said she was never here (but she moved right when COVID-19 started) so we decided to come because of their Small Plates happy hour (Monday-Friday 3-5). We came around 4 and there were a bunch of tables available all socially distanced. We sat down and we were welcomed by our waiter (Chuck), some bread, and amazing garlic bread dip (this dip was amazing and the bread was very tasty). We ordered off the special happy hour menu...buffalo chicken wings, spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips, fries, and fried half moon cheese. The food was really tasty so we decided that we had to try the flat bread which was also really good! We both had the pomegranate passion martini which was yummy and then I switched and got the pomegranate blackberry margarita and that too was delicious. We had great convo with Chuck. My sister will definitely be back and when I come visit her again I will want to come back. The only downfall was that they didn't have any pumpkin beer yet. Luckily, I have some in my refrigerator!

Yelp
Pros: -BREAD AND OIL -$15 off birthday coupon when you sign up for the e-list -Metered parking lot in back -Calories on menu and nutrition facts online -Great service -Gluten-free menu -Outdoor seating Cons: -A little pricey -Haven't had a standout dish yet -- Carrot Cake ($7.99) Light and fluffy carrot cake with shredded carrots and raisins inside, topped with a cream cheese icing that's not overly rich or thick. On top of that, sugared pecans and a tasty caramel drizzle. The variety of flavors and textures in this cake puts this above the chocolate torte in my book, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get this again. Flourless Chocolate Torte ($7.99) Rich chocolate torte that's thick and fudgy but also a little crumbly when trying to eat it. The flavor is OK but since it's all one texture and flavor it gets monotonous. There are a few raspberries on the side but it'd be much better if there was a raspberry sauce in the torte itself for a change of texture and flavor. The chocolate sauce drizzle is decent, but I wouldn't order this again. I come back only to use my $15 off coupon each year. Precious review: It was crowded when my friends and I stopped by around 6PM tonight (Thursday), but luckily we didn't have to wait for the 3 of us to be seated. Unfortunately, we did have to wait nearly 10 minutes for bread and even longer for water. The bread and oil/cheese/garlic/red pepper mixture was stellar as usual (although I forgot how much of a garlic taste it leaves in your mouth afterward). I was hoping our server would ask if we wanted more bread when she came to refill waters, but no dice. I ordered the Mustard Crusted Chicken BLT (sans B). Although it mentioned coming with sweet potato fries online, sadly the server told me they don't serve sweet potato fries anymore--how any restaurant could pull them after adding them to a menu is beyond me! Also, they need to update that on their website so others don't have to feel the pain I felt in that moment. The panko crust on the chicken added an awesome texture to the sandwich, which featured tomatoes, a honey sauce, a mayo/aioli sauce, and shredded lettuce (possibly my biggest food pet peeve). My girlfriend said it reminded her of something from Burger King, but I think that even they've upgraded from shredded lettuce by now. The ciabatta bread it came on was tasty--very soft with a slight crisp on the edges (quite opposite the "toasted" it claims on the online menu, but I didn't hate it). Unfortunately the bottoms of both halves of the sandwich were totally covered in the aioli, so much so that it really seemed like they spread it on the wrong side of the bread. It became a huge mess to eat. The fries were nothing special and it also came with cole slaw. I will say that for a small looking sandwich it was supremely filling. I definitely wouldn't order this sandwich again. The overall experience was 2.5 stars rounded up for the bread that can do no wrong. I'll have to try something else next time... Edit: have others been told they would be reached out to privately and then not reached out to...?

Always love coming here! Definitely one of my favorite locations of this chain - the food is always spot on and the service is stellar. if you come in make sure to request Jimmie, he is truly such a shining star at this spot and he gives amazing service! My friends and I have enjoyed many delicious meals here and Jimmie's attitude just makes it 100x better.

Yelp
We came to redeem my Email Club free birthday meal (entree and dessert). My friends are not as frequent a guest at Not Your Average Joe's as I, and found themselves happily employing the crusty focaccia pieces to shovel the tasty Parmesan-olive oil-red pepper flake concoction into their mouths. The burger was enjoyed, but the fries sadly arrived soft and limp. The haddock was cooked just right but lacked flavor, though accompanied by tasty sides of garlic mashed and carrots. As for me, I regretted jumping ship to the day's special miso salmon $12.99 (marinated in miso, pan-seared and served with scallion sticky rice cake, steamed bok choy and a citrus ponzu sauce) from the balsamic with its tastier sounding accompaniments of roasted root vegetables and cranberry-almond quinoa. My fish was overcooked and the dish melded to be of a single saline flavor profile. *** A personal visit from a fellow I presume to be a manager informed us that the email list birthday gift is in the process of being revamped. From a Free Entree and Dessert the month of your birth, it is converting to $15 off, redeemable at any time, but you have to sign up for it on an annual basis. Addendum: I've been kindly informed by Ralph V. on 4/27/2015 that the birthday reward program is in a test phase, but that nothing has yet been decided.

Yelp
Pros: -Very cool interior design of the space -Awesome layout -Parking lot in back -Bottomless drinks including lemonade Cons: -Painfully slow service -Comprehensively overpriced based on the quality of the food -Servers with attitude This place is beautiful to look at, but the beauty fades once you have been waiting on an app on a weekday afternoon with a light crowd for over 30 minutes.

Yelp
Chef Michelangelo made this place so special. He went above and beyond by asking my kids to come up and make pizzas while the parents could sit and enjoy a drink and their meal before the kids came back. The food was incredible I had the Vietnamese salmon full of flavor and very good. The waiter was OK. I Still give it five stars.

Yelp
Not Your Average Joe's is a nice spot for a quick, casual meal. Their food is tasty and they try to make new additions to their menus often including having a Taco Tuesday night, a Wine Wednesday night, and new Spring/Fall/BBQ menus to keep the food exciting. The bread they put on the table is a MAJOR highlight. It's an onion focaccia served with a parmesan, red pepper, and olive oil dip. It's addicting and I must say that it's something I look forward to each time I visit. I've been going to NYAJ for a long time and just recently have had several more negative experiences. I've had some very good waiters/waitresses there. However, I had an awful waitress once that did not speak to us, poured the olive oil over the spoon for the bread dipping sauce creating a huge mess (that she didn't clean up), and was overall unpleasant. The most recent visit, I ordered an entree sized caesar salad while my fiance ordered a burger cooked medium. When his burger came out, it was cold and raw in the middle. We really never send food back, but this was so raw it was not edible. When the waitress returned it to us, it was only slightly better. All in all, Not Your Average Joe's is a good spot for a quick and satisfying meal. Definitely worth trying and great for all ages and occasions.
