Unfortunately, I have to agree with the last commenter here. We came here because the reviews were very good and it was highly recommended by influencers on Instagram. It did not live up to the hype…
First things first… the Omakase Menu is 12,000 yen per person. Not a terrible price. But they don’t tell you that there’s a 10% charge for gratuity as well as a requirement to buy two drinks. The drinks were… how do I put this politely… awful, bland, and overpriced. The selection was honestly embarrassing for a restaurant attempting to be fine dining. The homemade juice was water. The lemon crush was horribly balanced. The lemon sour tasted like the lemon crush with a dash of alcohol. The wine was extremely lack luster. The only drink that was good was the tap beer.🍺
The food was bland. Plain and simple. Lacking in balance and refinement. One of the most basic concepts in cuisine is balance between salt, fat, acid, and heat. Totally fine for a cheap bistro. Not permissible for literally $100 USD per person.
The Omakase was frankly a joke. Each person at the table was required to share each dish, and we had to serve ourselves. For $100 USD per person, I’m sorry, but that level of service is unacceptable.
The restaurant has a great vibe, and the servers are total sweethearts (truly). They are very nice guys and I feel bad to leave them a “1,” but guys… you can’t charge this much for this quality of food. It’s just not there yet. You must refine your craft first before charging high-end prices, or the restaurant won’t survive.
The cook on the meat is great. There’s obviously talent there. The ingredients are high quality as well. The balance is just not there. The flavors aren’t coming through yet.
*sigh* that’s all I have in me for now. Sorry friends. Hope it was just an off night, but after reading the last comment, I’m sensing a pattern.
