Noun Coffee + Wine - Review - Marina Del Rey - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Noun Coffee + Wine is a daytime Marina Del Rey spot that looks like a WeWork with higher ceilings. They’re open until 2pm on weekdays, serving breakfast quesadillas alongside drinks like a blueberry matcha and something called a Fridge Cigarette (Diet Coke plus espresso). On weekends, they're open until 9 pm with an evening menu of natural wine, sake, Japanese beer, and snacks like hamachi crudo and burritos from Burritos La Palma." - Cathy Park

My wife and I visited Noun today, and we really enjoyed it. Here's the breakdown: FOOD The menu has just the right amount of items so that you have some options, but not too much to where you're paralyzed by choice. I had the Quesadilla (which was a breakfast one), and wife had the avocado toast. The Quesadilla was actually very good, and super simple, which I loved. It also came with a side of chips, side of salsa, side of chili crunch (called shito), and some delicious pickled onions. Will definitely be getting this again. I ate every single thing on that plate. The food feels elevated, but not so much so where it's off putting or feels too premium. DRINKS I had the Gold Rush, and my wife had a Classic Matcha Latte. The Gold Rush was good, but it was a little too sweet for my taste. To be fair he told me it wasn't too sweet, but I also really love just espresso and milk. The flavor of the drinks was really wonderful and felt super cozy. Had an array of spices and some vanilla syrup of some kind. Super nice. ATMOSPHERE It's so nice in here. Before this spot was Noun Coffee, it was Ten by Bar Nine. Personally, I really like what Noun has done with this place. It feels a lot warmer and cozy. You feel like you can get comfy and read a book, or get working on your laptop. It's all game. They have couches which I think helps create that comfy, at-ease feeling. HOURS This is one of the few coffee shops which (because they are also a wine bar / more on that in separate review) are open relatively late: 6pm Sun - Thu 9pm Thu - Sat. PARKING Parking is tough so I recommend just parking in the Costco lot somewhere and walking over. It makes it a lot easier then searching around for parking (depending on what time you're there). Overall, would definitely recommend. Gotta check it out for yourself. Enjoy!

Google
First impression on Noun Cafe was it gave me that artsy and contemporary co-working space vibe. Lo-fi background music, aesthetic design, with plenty of seats occupying various needs. Cozy couches for those who just hanged and chill, bigger group table that could accommodate people meeting-up or even working/studying together, and individual table for whom working on their own. This space used to be occupied by another coffee shop, which only opened until early afternoon so I was so excited knowing a brand new cafe now took it over and opened until pretty late in the evening every weekends. Seeing the vibe energized me even more especially having its location being so close to me, so I could easily hopped there when I fancied ambiance change and got fed up with my home working desk. They did offer plenty of food options throughout the day, various options of tea and coffee based drinks, and even alcoholic drinks since they did sell themselves as coffee and wine spot. Soaking under the sun watching the Glencoe traffic was another choice offered and the space was nicely well-shaded. I got 'The Usual', which was their version of Iced Vanilla Latte, served with house-made vanilla syrup. Selling their in-house blend as well, they offered stellar medium-bodied coffee and I fell for their vanilla syrup which came as perfect pair to the coffee. With plenty of seats available and speedy service, the place doubltlessly made it to my regular to-go list now.

Google
Attended a night time soft opening and loved being in the space. noun it’s a place, and the people here make it great. really loved chismosa 🍷, and the noun orange and chilled red. purple sweet potato with miso aioli was so simple and comforting. Add in that Gloria’s Shito bite and 🔥. Really unique pour over coffee from Xbloom called “The Future of Grape Soda” that was incredible. Small shareable bites and fun wine at night. Will be back with some more updates soon, will be a regular soon

I live in Santa Monica and was really looking forward to trying this new coffee place. I saw posts on social media and was impressed by the cozy vibes. The customer service was excellent, but the coffee itself was just ok. I'm paying $8 for a cup of coffee; it better be good than the one I have at home. First, I tried a pumpkin iced coffee, which was too sweet for me, so I asked the barista to make me a new one, which was the golden hour. It was ok, but nothing special, nothing I hadn't tried before at any other coffee shop. The location is a few minutes from Costco, which was very convenient since I had to do a Costco run that morning. Vibes and atmosphere: Quiet, Cozy, chairs, couches, tables. Both indoor and outdoor dining. Clean bathrooms.

Google
The place is beautiful. Great ambience. One barista is tense. Not having it lol Can we make it more like a welcoming atmosphere? I wanted to order more but I wasn’t feeling it. We left so fast.. My matcha is just whole milk with matcha drip. Maybe I’ll go for the coffee next time.

Google
Such a gem! The coffee (and matcha) is so good, and the burritos are a must! Need to come back soon to try the evening service as I’ve heard the night menu & wine are worth checking out. It’s super cozy inside, perfect for bringing friends or your laptop to get some work done. And the staff is so friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend!

Went to Noun with my wife to check it out. Loved our coffees! great presentation and cool spot to hang out for a few hours.. We shared the sweet potato and burrito. The meat was perfectly flavored- some nice bites with our coffees 👌

Google
The coffee is not good. They don't have the typical espresso drinks you can find at normal coffee shops. Instead, they have these 'special drinks' that just didn't blend well and tasted super weird. Luckily the milk covered up some of the sourness from the coffee. The name of the weird drink was called, "Baby Calabasas'. I recommend this coffee + wine shop to really taste your own coffee before serving it to your customers. Additionally, the barista was quite pretentious as well, when we asked if they serve cappuccino. She said, "We like to stick to our offerings." I guess if you are going to stick to your offerings, make it well before you venture off to your 'offerings'. The only plus is the ambiance.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon with a friend. Street parking was easy to find. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Perfect for working or catching up with a friend They sell lots of goodies, beans, matcha kits, Palestinian olive oil, etc Noun Coffee on a rainy day feels like a warm hug. I really Loved the Honeyama matcha latte. It has a nice matcha cream top and the flavor was strong but not too sweet My friend got their latte hot, which was rich warm felt like a hug, it was so good. The avocado toast on sourdough was delicious. The big windows soft comfy couches and beautiful natural light made it the perfect place to spend a rainy day afternoon. I will definitely be back !

Yelp
noun is the kind of place Marina del Rey does really well: cute, trendy, and immaculately clean, with a beautifully considered aesthetic that immediately puts you at ease. It's the sort of coffee shop where you feel welcome the moment you walk in--and tempted to stay longer than planned. I ordered the Japanese purple sweet potato, which was a genuine standout. Perfectly cooked and naturally sweet, it came with three thoughtfully chosen dipping sauces that elevated it from a simple snack into something playful and memorable. Each dip brought out a different note--savory, sweet, and unexpected--making every bite feel intentional. To drink, I had a crisp glass of Gamay Noir, which felt like a delightful surprise in a coffee shop setting. Light and refreshing, it paired beautifully with everything on the table. The Kouign-amann was buttery, caramelized, and utterly sumptuous--flaky on the outside, tender within, and indulgent in the best possible way. One of the best parts of noun is the seating. The couches are genuinely comfortable, making the space feel less like a café and more like being in your own living room. It's an ideal place to relax, catch up with a friend, or sink in with a book and a drink and let time slow down.

Yelp
Noun gets a 10/10 for me! I never write reviews but I just have to. My husband and I went for breakfast. I had the matcha heaven and he had the wild card pour over...out of this world. We also shared the bean and cheese burrito (yummmmm) The ambiance alone is like something I've never seen before. I could really find myself getting lost in a book or cracking down on some work in there. This place used to be another coffee shop and it blows that place out of the water. Everything from ambiance to service, it was incredible and I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Discovered this spot a on TikTok and went later that day. Great vibes. Went with the "short stack" drink, so so good. The sea salt is an amazing touch. I also got the chocolate cookie with cardamom, which I never heard of before. It was... Different. Not the biggest fan, but the cookie was still tasty and the big chocolate piece on it helped. Absolutely delicious if you're into cardamom. Loads of indoor and outdoor seating. This is a nice spot. A few blocks from the Costco, which had I known that yesterday I'd have come while waiting for my prescription Free WiFi

Yelp
I was excited to see that Marina Del Rey got a new coffeeshop with a nice aesthetic, this area has needed one for way too long. We came around 7 am on a weekday morning and got parking right outside. It didn't look like they had their own dedicated carpark. Noun's interior is cozy and gorgeous. It's the best thing about this place. Service was friendly and welcoming. We were surprised to find that they didn't have some regular espresso-based drinks, like lattes or flat whites. They had their own drink creations, which I appreciated, but it was unusual that they didn't offer the basics. I got a matcha latte which tasted mostly like almond milk, and my husband, who normally orders flat whites, had to get one of their specialty drinks, which was way too sweet for him. He also ordered a breakfast item which he didn't enjoy. I may try this place again when they're more established.

Yelp
Cozy little study spot in the more residential area of Marina/Venice. Place was easy to find but only street parking available. Overall I think it's a cool spot with great decor. I got the pumpkin coffee and honestly it was a little overpriced for the quality. They do serve alcohol after 5pm so maybe this is better as a bar spot with friends. Will come back again for the night life experience.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Sunday morning. Ordered a pour over, iced oat vanilla latte and a breakfast quesadilla. Everything was just okay, but also overpriced. Typically I'd expect the pour over to be served in a warm cup (e.g., warmed with hot water) but it wasn't. We parked on the street, it's next to an apartment though so you may be able to park in their garage. Definitely a cozy space, but for the price and quality, I'd rather go somewhere else for coffee. Might be back to check out the wine bar though.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool inside but expensive. It's in those expensive apartment complexes in case you're confused. Chill vibe but as I said. You won't spend less than five bucks on anything here. It's good sure but I can get regular coffee and be just as well. Mostly the vibe and location. Open late which is cool that's why I went. Service is whatever
google avatar

Misa O.

Yelp
The vibes and interior design here are soooo cozy and cute, great for lounging, yapping, or getting work done. It's spacious but parking is only street parking (which there's not a lot) if you plan on staying longer. The drinks were decent! The coffee and matcha quality are pretty solid, nothing special but great!
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
Went there for a quick bite and drink. Nothing special after their cheese quesadillas. Too greasy in my opinion and over priced for that quality. I liked the yuzu drink but not worth the price. But you are in MDR so of course it's higher . Nice cozy coffee place. They don't have any pastries if you're in the mood for it. I think they need to expand their food choices to go along with their drinks. Friendly staff.

Yelp
This is not a coffee shop. What is it? Honestly I don't get it. I asked about the burrito and they started telling me about the award the recipe got. But...what's in the burrito? And I just wanted a flat white or a cappuccino. The lady started explaining the closest thing they have is "The Usual." This isn't a coffee shop. This is a place that sells very specific types of drinks, some of which have coffee- but if you're a regular human being who regularly stops at regular coffee shops to get regular drinks like lattes and cappuccinos....this ain't it.
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
Beautiful new coffee shop with the coziest interior. I stopped by here on a weekend morning and it was pretty empty. I can see this being a good place to catch up with a friend or do work. I got the blueberry matcha with oat milk which was solid! The blueberry flavor was not artificial or overpowering at all.
google avatar

Ellen J.

Yelp
Friendly customer service, aesthetic and spacious interior with plenty of workspace, free WiFi and relatively easy street parking. The only thing that fell short was their drinks: my golden hour coffee drink was watery yet overly sweet. I also tried the tropicoqueta matcha drink and it tasted watery as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Noun has replaced Ten Cafe, but I'd say overall, it has been a downgrade. First, some pros: 1. The vibes are immaculate, and the decor is lovely. There are couches for comfortable seating and tables (albeit with rock-hard chairs) for working. There is also plenty of outside seating. 2. Fast and functional WiFi. 3. There is street and lot parking. 4. Since you are paying tax "for here" / dine-in, they do serve their drinks in glassware. Now some cons: 1. The coffee is extremely acidic. For those of you who insist on loving sour coffee, I hope this one's for you. The coffee is simply not good, no matter the syrup or add-ons. 2. The baristas will refuse to make simple cafe classics. They insist on keeping to the menu, and "cannot" make a cappuccino without adding on their pre-batched sweeteners and custom menu items ($$$).
google avatar

Manuel C.

Yelp
Severely overpriced coffee, not worth it, they pulled out what looked like premade espresso... definitely not worth it. Cost $8.78 for a 12 Oz latte. I got the Golden Hour, as someone who's had experience serving coffee for 4 years now, this tastes quite disgusting. Very soap-like... The coffee has a very under extracted flavor to it (sour) Service was nice and so was the ambience but that's about it.
google avatar

SepiSarah K.

Yelp
They have no staff. There is a cashier working to get orders and also prepare the orders. I ordered a coffee half an hour ago and still waiting. I don't care how amazing their coffee will taste, I will not be coming back here because of the LONG wait. The one star is only for the set up and interior which is beautiful and different. Yelp
flavors: amazing. the breakfast quesadilla would be better served as 2 tacos (there were a lot of opportunities for stuff to fall out), but the flavors were phenomenal. and for $8, it was a great deal. the west african sauce it comes with is INSANELY GOOD, and they make and sell it in house. prices: competitive for 2026. service: warm, welcoming. all i ask for. environment: my favorite part. this place is remarkably cozy for having 20' ceilings. the comfy chairs and couches are a lovely alternative to bistro tables, which they also have. the lighting is soft and the textiles take this concrete building and make it feel lived in and warm. best drink: the salted maple espresso drink.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Such a let down. The place before (Ten Cafe) was SO much better. Noun is trying way too hard to be unique to the point they won't even make staple drinks like a cappuccino or a flat white. They also only have one person making drinks at all times so it takes around 15-20 mins just to get a drink. I really hope this place succeeds but I fear they won't unless they get it together. Hopefully they'll eventually give the ppl what they want and make staple drinks wayyy quicker.

Yelp
I stopped by Noun.Coffee in Marina del Rey today and I'm so glad I did! The space is warm and cozy, with such a welcoming vibe from the moment you walk in. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. I tried the vanilla latte and it was absolutely delicious--smooth, perfectly balanced, and easily one of the best I've had in the area. On top of great coffee, they also have a fun selection of merch and curated goods. I couldn't resist and ended up taking home some California-harvested olive oil and Pikete hot sauce. It's such a thoughtful touch that makes this spot stand out from other coffee shops. Even though they just opened less than a week ago, Noun.Coffee already feels like a neighborhood favorite in the making. Highly recommend stopping by as this place is definitely 5 stars!
google avatar

Athene F.

Yelp
I went there today with a friend for the first time and we each had a hot tea which is served as a loose tea in a very small pot about 10 oz? Apparently they don't just give you more plain hot water to refill the pot. They make you purchase a new tea. So two servings each set us back $20 before tip and tax. Won't be going back. Too many cool + accommodating options in the area.

Anna G.

Yelp
Dear Yelp Community, Nice shop with high ceiling and lounge feel (couch, etc.). I like that this venue is attached to a building with housing. Enjoy! Sincerely, Anna

Daniella T.

Yelp
I really don't understand the insistence on not having an espresso machine and traditional coffee drinks. The coffee here isn't good. I know they use premade espresso but it's just sour :/ I love the decor and all the seating but the lack of good coffee just totally defeats the purpose of coming here. Super bummed
google avatar

Lenafish A.

Yelp
Love the vibe, ambience and seating. Went during soft open so they will probably add drinks, but there aren't currently a lot of options. They also don't seem to have fresh espresso (or espresso machines?), only bottled. Gotta be honest, I've tried several of their specialty drinks now and all of them are lackluster but I have hope they will figure things out since they just opened. Prices are really high, cups are small... You're paying for the Vibes and they're paying Marina del Rey rent. They have menus for alcohol in the evenings, seems it turns into a lounge/bar.

Yelp
Was excited to try this place. I'm not sure if this is a soft open as it seems like there were a lot of issues. Two coffees, a breakfast burrito and two La Palma burritos came to $38. They told us the wait for the burritos would be 15 minutes. But it was 30 minutes and we still had not gotten our food, noticed that they were calling orders for others before us. When we asked l, they told us to wait more but later came out to ask what we'd gotten bc it seemed like the they forgot what was ordered. Unfortunately, the burrito itself was dry and unappetizing. The ambiance is nice and you get to see a lot of dogs. The drinks were ok but the Americano is about 1/3 of the size of any other coffee shop I've ever been to. Don't recommend.

A E.

Yelp
Noun refuses to make classic espresso drinks like cappuccinos or flat whites. Why????
google avatar

Hanna J.

Yelp
Sad to say, but coffee was a huge let down. Tasted like slightly heated, not even lukewarm milk. $8 for a latte. But they did refund us, which we appreciate

Illina L.

Yelp
I was so excited to see this new coffee place next door to my apartment so decided to order the Matcha!!! Wah wah wah! Worse Matcha ever!!! No taste and literally water with coloring. And I tried to make small talk how excited I was and there was no emotion what a bummer. Back to Coffee Bean I go! Matcha takes good, employees greet with warm welcome and you get points towards free parties coffee etc

Jazmine S.

Yelp
Loved the seating arrangement, the place was very calming. Mango matcha drink was 10/10. Got another one to go hahaha
google avatar

Anisha M.

Yelp
Super cute vibe and kind staff, but the coffee was not good, in my opinion. It was really watery for some reason. I ordered "the usual" with whole milk, so I assumed it would be like a latte. Didn't taste the vanilla bean in there at all either. I'll probably go back at night to check it out as a wine bar and see how that is.
google avatar

Jef T.

Yelp
Noun Coffee has really become a home away from home for me--a calm little pocket in Marina del Rey where I can slow down and reset in the middle of a busy day. The coffee is consistently excellent, made with care, and the space itself has this relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. Whether I'm grabbing a quick espresso or just sitting with a latte and taking a breather, it always feels like more than just a coffee stop--it's part of my routine and a place I genuinely look forward to coming back to

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
I paid 9+ dollars for a really sad latte. What was I thinking...but the girls working there were super nice.

Yelp
I work in the area and my boyfriend lives nearby as well so we decided to finally check this spot out. Super cute little modern coffee shop tucked in the neighborhood. We ordered an avocado toast, birria breakfast burrito, and a protein strawberry matcha. Wait time wasn't bad at all and we got our food and drinks very fast but honestly I was very disappointed with everything we got. The bill came out to $40 and everything we got was quite literally just okay at best, the avocado toast was good but not good enough to spend 11+ on it, nothing memorable. When I hear birria breakfast burrito I think super big burrito packed with eggs, cheese and maybe potatoes. This birria burrito came with two small burritos that looked more like tortillas rolls from el pollo loco. Even though the meat was cooked great and it was very tender it was completely lacking flavor. There was just the birria meat and cheese. It also came with two salsas a green salsa that was pretty solid and a chili oil dip that was a bit too sweet for my liking. Nothing special whatsoever. The server did notify me that the matcha I ordered was a strawberry based matcha with more of a protein shake taste however I absolutely hated it. Just not my taste personally but maybe more fitting for someone else. Overall just didn't enjoy the food. The vibe and ambiance was definitely cute though. Unfortunately I can't rate the coffee since I didn't order any this time. I recommend checking it out if you're a coffee lover but I wouldn't bother with the matcha or the food honestly.

Ethan U.

Yelp
I'll give credit where credit is due, the wildcard pour over is absolutely delicious, very easily one of my favorite cups of coffee I've had recently. The shop is well furnished giving it a nice and cozy feel, lots of people studying and working too. But should mention I was absolutely horrified when I saw the price of the cup I had just ordered because I didn't check how much it was prior to ordering. So when I saw 13 dollars on the register I was appalled but I continued through with it without saying anything because why not, I surely it would be worth it. Because of this it added a bit of salt to the wound when the barista turned around to a fully automatic pour over machine, you'd think that for the quality of coffee being served and the price of it, there would be a bit of craftsman ship going into it, So I was slightly disappointed. Overall though the ambience is very good and the coffee is very delicious
