Came back to my fav restaurant in the area after i saw the roll 7 before 6 which is apart of the happy hour. Unfortunately i didn't roll the 7 but the food was still good. Jimmy was our server and helped choose some great options on the menu so we got a bunch of stuff. The LED screen they have really added to the overall vibe of the Nova which was cool.

I visited this restaurant on October 25th at around 8:15… I really wanted to like NOVA Kitchen & Bar, but my experience was disappointing from start to finish. The moment we walked in, there was a strange, unpleasant smell that made the atmosphere uncomfortable, which was surprising given how nice the décor looked. The service was extremely slow, it took a long time just to get seated, and even longer for someone to take our order. When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t worth the wait. The dishes were bland, poorly seasoned, and definitely overpriced for the quality and portion size. It felt like the focus was more on presentation than taste or value. The servers seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, rarely checking in or refilling drinks. I also noticed other tables nearby waiting a long time for their food or trying to flag someone down. The atmosphere itself is the only redeeming quality, the lighting and setup are modern and inviting, but unfortunately, the smell, poor service, and disappointing food outweighed that. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on my visit.

Google
The food and service was terrific. A great spin on some asian favorites. Nice variety of cocktails and service was top notch. If you're in the Disneyland area, a really chic restaurant to visit. Highly recommended

Google
Yummy food in very small portions with high prices. They present it as tapas style which meant the servers were running around delivering food constantly yet auctioning off the food at the table. They did not keep our waters full or clear the plates from the table until I stacked them on the corner. We left hungry and having spent a lot of money.

I have very mixed feelings about this restaurant. I went here for the first time this weekend after wanting to try Nova for a very long time. I will start by saying the atmosphere is nice overall. Would make a great date night or if you're trying to have a girl's night. Lots of opportunities for photos and whatnot. There is a private room apparently that you can sit in behind a bookshelf wall, which is pretty cool. The table I was sitting at was a disappointment mainly because at Sunset my husband and I were blasted in the face by the sunlight and the restaurant has no blinds or curtains or any way of shielding the Sun from blinding you. It is extremely annoying and they need to figure out a solution to this. I don't enjoy paying this type of money for food and having to hold up a menu for almost 30 minutes to cover the Sun from blinding me. Alcohol was good. No complaints there. Food: This is where things go downhill for my entire party. There was 10 of us and I can honestly say only one dish was flavorful. All the other dishes severely lacked seasoning and flavoring. It was so odd because the dishes were beautiful and they looked delicious but the look was deceiving because each one of us at the table ate our dish wondering why it tasted like the chef did not season any of the dishes whatsoever. Everything was EXTREMELY bland.. I've never dined somewhere and had every dish at the table come out Bland. It was so weird. I am willing to try this place again hoping that it was an off night but overall I was extremely dissatisfied because of how much money we spent on our meal and how all of us at this table left extremely disappointed. I did NOT feel like it got my money's worth.

Google
Came here with a larger group of colleagues. The food was good but for a price. Now to the reason for the bad rating: waiters were really hard to catch (to order drinks and food) throughout the evening. Also, we had to wait really long for the food, several dishes arrived at least 30min apart (main course) and some were forgotten. The restaurant was completely full so this might have been the reason for it. If you want to go I'd advise to share several starters, they were great.

Google
This place is definitely overrated because it looks nice. I’ve had plenty of Japanese food and the sushi and everything was bland and not prepared well. It’s presented well but it’s just not the greatest. The pork bao bun was probably the worst we ever had. I had them customize the bao to be vegetarian with mushrooms and it was healthy and nice but was lacking sauce for sure. The pork bao was dry also. The vegetable roll was good but you can’t really screw that up. My son got a mocktail and it was just filled with ice and horrible, not worth it.

Google
I went here with an open mind. I wasn’t sure what to expect honestly.. I am pretty picky when it comes to Asian fusion food. I also was aware of the dislikes on some of the reviews. I’m happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised . Our server Colin went above and beyond. He shared his favorite menu items and was attentive. The food came out quick (they have 4 kitchens in the back!) and hot. They even replaced a drink when my cousin knocked hers over. I can’t wait to come back and try their all you can eat brunch! There’s honestly nothing else like Nova in the OC or LA.. The space was modern and upscale. It was spacious. The only downside I would say is that we had a small table so there wasn’t a lot of room for the dishes (we shared them family style)… but they think of everything and brought out a side table for the extra dishes! It was also a very affordable dinner. We left satisfied and full. My favorite dishes were the mushroom toast, chili wontons, and Brussels sprouts (warning these had a spicy kick to them!). If I had one complaint it would be that the steak was a little overdone to my liking. Their drink menu was fun! I enjoyed the sunrise in Kyoto. This restaurant is attached to the Hyatt and shared a parking lot (but there’s validation so it’s free)

Yelp
Out waitress Kaila is very nice and informative. My 3rd time here and always enjoyed the food and drinks. And loved the ambiance here.

Yelp
Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy! Excellent service! Food was superb! The seafood fried rice was a top contender for a favorite. Surprisingly cool vibe from the moment you walk in. Highly recommend!

Yelp
OMG roll was my favorite! Our server, Koda, provided great service. Would come again :)

Yelp
NOVA Kitchen & Bar is easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in Orange County this year. From the moment you walk in, the space is absolutely stunning - modern, sexy, and impeccably designed. The service is next-level: attentive, warm, and genuinely passionate about the food without ever feeling stuffy. Every single dish we ordered was flawless: - Dragon Breath roll - spicy, crunchy, saucy perfection with that dramatic "fire" finish - OMG, Honey! - the salmon and scallop combo with honey and dry cherry is pure luxury in every bite - Mushroom Toast - truffle oil + garlic aioli on perfectly toasted baguette... I'm still dreaming about it - Gochu-Nara "Bird's Nest" - a creamy, spicy, umami bomb of gochujang carbonara that shouldn't work but is absolute genius - Amai Miso Cod - 72-hour miso-marinated, melt-in-your-mouth, served on banana leaf... easily the best cod I've ever had The staff made us feel like VIPs. NOVA isn't just dinner - it's a full-on experience. Already counting down the days until I'm back.

Yelp
Long over due, but omg! This place was amazing! Thank you so much Drew and crew! For fluidly organizing my graduation dinner. You all were accommodating as our guest pour in separately , it gave me the reassurance that my guest was fed thank you so much! The food and ambiance were so great! My guests told me they liked the food, i also liked the food and fun drinks as well. And for giving us the room to walk around and talk as we all celebrated for the night. I was just sad that i didn't get to take pictures of the plates! Thank you again!

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place because it was my birthday, and it all started well with our server Jimmy until he disappeared. The restaurant got very crowded and the service got slower. Jimmy never came back and food arrived late and didn't seem fresh. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else specially on their birthday

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place and sad we didn't try it sooner! This is a beautiful place to enjoy whether it's for a special occasion or just for fun. We came here before our Disney trip began -- we walked from our hotel (Hyatt Regency) which is right next door. It was happy hour when we arrived. They have an extensive HH menu that offers a variety of items for any palate -- the menu is tapa style and is meant to be shared. We ordered edamame, fried chicken baos, crunchy rice spicy tuna, Brussels sprouts, and two orders of the steak. Everything was EXCELLENT! The flavors in each dish are truly just so delicious and well-balanced in texture and taste. Honestly, I don't think you could go wrong ordering anything on this menu -- everything was a 5/5 for my family and I. I would say the highlight for me was the chicken bao buns though -- perfectly fried chicken in a soft bao bun was so good! The chutney that came with the steak was soo tasty too -- my daughter (who is very picky) even said she could drink it! Lol that says a lot. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake -- super chocolatey and paired with some vanilla ice cream and berries. It was a nice way to end our meal. Definitely ask about the happy hour "7" dice roll -- if you roll a 7 with two dice, you get up to $75 of happy hour items off your bill! My daughter rolled a 7 and we got a great discount -- such a fun way to end the night! I have already recommended this place to many people -- needless to say, we will be back!

Yelp
As part of a party of 8, the staff at Nova suggested we order and eat family-style, since everything is made to order and comes out of the kitchen as it's ready. As a result, I had an amazing meal and was able to sample a decent part of the menu. Apps: All incredible. Brussels sprouts had a kick in the best way possible, and the crispy rice spicy tuna was one of the best apps I've had in a while. Entrees: Kung Pao chicken, noodles, and specialty rolls were all delicious. OMG Honey was a favorite at the table. We also opted for the sashimi platter and had a beautiful and tasty selection of sashimi. Service was incredibly helpful as we chose what and how much to order for our large group. The vibes at Nova were relaxed, upscale, and unique. I would love to visit again when in the area.

Yelp
A unique blend of Italian and Asian cuisine--absolutely phenomenal. We had quick service, the food was presented in creative ways, and there is a lot of space inside with high ceilings. Their cocktails are also a must try!

Yelp
I came here for the $68 Tuesdays and Wednesdays omakase special last night. I was thoroughly impressed by not only the quality of the fish but also the creativity behind each course. The toppings, flavor combinations, and presentations were so unique and a fusion of different cultures into sushi. My top favorites were the salmon, tuna belly, red snapper, and eel. I was not sure how I feel about the tuna tartar ball. I love the flavor just felt there should be something firm holding it all together or more of a crunch element. Our server, Calvin, and sushi chef, Alfredo, were so attentive and engaging. I was never short on water, ginger, or wasabi. I also learned a lot about sushi. The pace between each course was perfect. I did not feel rushed to finish a course and move on to the next. The outside, the waiting area, and the inside of the restaurant are so beautiful. The inside gives off club vibes meet an art gallery. I also like the music. It was not too loud for me and my friend to have a conversation.

Yelp
Took my parents on a date because they never got to go anywhere when they were younger since they were too busy caring for us. They had the best time here! There were so many photo opportunities and they felt really special thanks to the staff and the interactive presentations of their dishes! The experience is what stood out here. Nova Kitchen & Bar 12361 Chapman Ave, Anaheim Located attached to the Hyatt Open lot parking; validated for 3 hours by restaurant Also look for their happy hour deals, Omakase experience, and Sunday AYCE brunch buffet with crab, lobster and sushi included! Service was great and huge thanks to Collin who was so sweet!! We were celebrating our published cookbook anniversary and he brought out a "congratulations" mochi for us . The highlights were the Miso cod and Thai New York Steak. One note is that the Chinese broccoli both dishes came with needed to be cooked longer to bite through.

Yelp
One of my favorite fusion restaurants in the OC. Will alwaya come back for the food and ambiance. Our waiter Jay was super friendly and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. 10/10 !

Cindy G.

Yelp
we threw my little cousin a post wedding party here and it was so cute! They let us come early to decorate the room and the room was really nice and was the perfect size for our party size. we ordered almost everything on the menu and everything was pretty good but the highlights for me would be the sisig, the cod and mushroom toast. my husband really enjoyed the kung pao chicken and my daughter devoured the shaking beef. our server, Brian was amazing! The way we bothered this man to come in and out of the room to fix the temperature was insane and he did it with a smile! He was also very quick with our drink orders, food orders, and getting us a cake stand and even taking our pictures! He was the best!

Yelp
There is a lack of theme for this restaurant. Do you want to specialize in Asian fusion or Japanese? I had a hard time ordering because I saw rolls but also sharable plates, individual plates. What are chef's specials? Are they sharable or individual meals? The restaurant is beautiful with LED screen and light ceilings. It is great for a formal date or anniversary of sort. The service was average, not too outstanding. I did feel a rush on how waiter kept checking to see if I was ready to order. I did have to let him know twice that I wasn't ready yet. Though third time I was still deciding but ended up ordering anyway. The waiter sometime filled up the water. I did have to wait a bit to get my empty glass refilled. Though he was serving only our table and another one that just came in. The restaurant was so empty. The food was good but not exceptional. There isn't a kick with the galbi 3/5. It looks like something I can make at home in 15 minutes. The uni nigiri were okay and fresh. They are pricey though, more than other uni I had 4/5 Dan dan noodle was so tiny. That was a two spoonfuls of food! It was spicy and overly sauced. 3/5 My favorite was the volcano sushi because I have no complain. Though I could get this one in college campus. 5/5 Overall this would be a one time visit for me only

Yelp
It was my wife's birthday and we decided to come to Nova's to try out the Omakase. It did not disappoint! Excellent service from Calvin and the food was amazing! I definitely recommend to try.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been coming to Nova for the past year and it's my go-to for happy hour and special occasions! Every dish I've had has been delicious, with impressive presentation. Some of my favorites include the Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Chicken Bao, and all of their mixed drinks. Service is also always on point. The manager is super cool and always makes sure your experience is going well. This evening, I had the pleasure of Jimmy serving us, and he was professional, attentive, and welcoming. The ambiance of the restaurant is was struck me when I first visited Nova, because the decor, theming, and vibes tie everything together. I always like seeing the galaxy projection wall Definitely check out Nova if you are in the area or want elevated Asian-fusion cuisine.

Yelp
Ok this place is so incredible and that's coming from a total sushi snob. We had the yellowtail and salmon belly 5 stars! The Thai charred NY steak was so good but let's not forget the absolute star of the show... the Chili wontons omg. Also look at this wild roll that came on fire! Btw our server Colin was 5 stars! He was super professional and helped us order an amazing dinner.

Yelp
Finally decided to check this place out after hearing great things from friends! Made reservations for a Saturday evening on the patio. When we arrived we were told the patio was closed. Not a big deal but would've been nice if that was updated on the reservation page. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, just 2 of us, because they had a large party in part of the restaurant. The hostess apologized for the wait and was very friendly. We were seated at an intimate table for 2 all by itself against the wall just outside of the main dining area. We thought it was such a perfect spot! Remember this detail for later. There were so many dishes that sounded so delicious that we decided to just order a bunch of apps and shareable dishes. Started off with some sake and a Beijing Fashioned to start. The Beijing Fashioned was their version of an Old Fashioned and it was absolutely perfect. First we got some garlic chili edamame, and a colorful assortment of soup dumplings. The edamame was very good, perfect temp and texture. The dumplings were ok but lacking a bit of flavor. The outside was kind of cold and very chewy but the inside was scalding hot! Burned my tongue a couple times. We also ordered the Keto Roll sushi roll. It was crisp and refreshing but very light if you're looking to get full. Then came the stars of the show, the Shaking Beef and Kung Pao chicken. The Shaking Beef was good, fresh tender cuts of filet with some tasty pickled red onion. I wish the sauce was a but thicker, it was so watery that it didn't stick to the beef and most of the flavor just came from the meat or the onions. The Kung Pao Chicken however was really good! It had a great kick to it while carrying tons of flavor. The rice underneath soaked up all the leftover sauce making both of us keep taking bites even though we don't really eat rice! Here's why I'm giving it only 3 stars. Some of the dishes were subpar considering the rave reviews and overall atmosphere. The restaurant was EXTREMELY loud, not because of the party but because of all the drunk people sitting around us. We could barely have a conversation the entire time. The location of that intimate table is terrible. Whenever a large party would get up and leave they would congregate right next to our table, yelling loudly at each other right above our heads. I literally ate half my meal with a drunk loud guy standing behind and over me. Because they were blocking the main walking lane others, including staff, had to squeeze by and I was hit several times by people doing this. I finally had to ask our server to ask them to move, which they finally did. I really wish we could've sat on the patio!

Yelp
Pros: Food, service, location Cons: Probably not great for kids Details: Right next to one of our favorite hotels, we have been waiting to go here. The portions were okay but everything was quite delicious. The service was also good. It had some pretty neat looks in the interior too. Probably more of an adult place than kids place honestly.

Yelp
I went to Nova Kitchen last night with a large group, and overall the presentation of everyone's dishes was very beautiful. Unfortunately, my experience with my own order wasn't great. I ordered the miso cod, but it took about 45 minutes to arrive--long after everyone else at the table had already received their meals (and even the sharables they ordered afterward). Someone in our group even placed a second order 20 mins after I ordered my entrée, and their food still arrived before mine. I asked two different servers about my dish, and both times I was told it would be "out in a minute," so it was clear my meal had been forgotten. It was disappointing having to sit and watch everyone eat while waiting for my entrée. The bright side was that our main server was very kind and offered a complimentary dessert to make up for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. I also ordered the scallion pancake, and while it looked nice on top, the bottom was completely burnt--so definitely check underneath before digging in.

Yelp
I really like this place. It's lowkey and the vibe is great. Had great server name Julia who was very attentive. Dumplings were 10/10. Will def be coming back here.

Yelp
First time here and we brought our Mom here for her Birthday. We were greeted by our waitress Kayla who was very sweet and accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful and has a great ambiance. For appetizers we ordered chicken wings, scallion pancakes asada and Zesty wontons. All super delicious especially the scallion pancakes. We also ordered the Galbi plate, chow mein, Dan Dan noodles, Tofu and veggies, Thai charred NY steak, Hot Mama, and CA rolls. Food was great however not a fan of the very oily/spicy Dan Dn noodles which we returned to the kitchen. Kayla was very gracious about it too. Kayla brought out a complimentary Birthday dessert and some Mochi for us too since a lot of things we wanted was not available tonight. Which brings me to a couple of things that I felt were a bit frustrating. We asked for coffee, was told the kettle broke. Why does a restaurant have one kettle? We asked for soda, was told machine wasn't working? So with that said we had no choice but to order mocktails which cost was the same if we had liquor in them. (not fair) Paying double for mocktails as opposed to a soda I felt was a brilliant sales tactic imo. lol! All their dining plates were actual appetizer plates which was frustrating too cause it was hard to eat properly if you ask me. It was also kind of warm in the restaurant which made me uncomfortable and gave me a headache. I asked Kayla to check on the A/C and luckily the Manager agreed to turn the temperature down cause I felt the air blowing finally. It's important to make the customer happy and comfortable if we are dining in their establishment. Overall food was tasty, servers were sweet and accommodating especially Kayla and restaurant was pretty. Will we come back, probably not anytime soon unfortunately.

Yelp
Came here for a wedding and it was an amazing experience so decided to come back for a private dinner with other food choices to try. The fried rice was well seasoned and filled with seafood based with a pool of egg. Ordered a medium Wagyu skillet but came out well done. The miso cod was fantastic- well flavored and cooked to perfection. Got a side of rice that was undercooked and dry. Orders the jalapeño yellowtail- fish was fresh but chillies were dried and stale. Customer service was by Ryan who seemed to be short staffed bc it was just him waiting on 3 tables. Wasn't busy but we did have to get his attention for condiments and utensils. There was a Hispanic lady who we didn't get the name but she was very observant and refilled our sauce and napkins- great service by her!! Atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming as usual.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this restaurant so decided to come here for my friend's birthday. Parking here was easy, they had a lot that was free parking with validation. The ambiance inside was nice, it was upscale and had a clubbing vibe. The food here was really good. I ordered the BTS roll, chili oil wontons, and a lychee sangria. The sangria was good and sweet but the alcohol was a little weak. The chili wontons were okay, I think prefer DTF's version more. The BTS roll was good, similar to other rolls drizzled with eel sauce and sriracha mayo at other sushi restaurants. Everyone at my table seemed to like their foods as well. Overall, this is a great place to come for a birthday or celebrations with good food!

Yelp
This restaurant offers dishes from several different asian countries... japanese, vietnamese, chinese... Food was actually good... nothing outstanding but just plain good dishes. The restaurant itself is nice. The bathrooms are clean (not like other asian restaurants with bathrooms also being used for storage... lol) Our server was great. She accidentally bumped over a glass of sake. We said it's ok, accidents happen. But she insisted on getting us another more expensive sake for free. We celebrated a double birthday, and they gave us 2 complimentary desserts which were great.

Yelp
Such a cute place with different themed areas! I came here on a Sunday night and dined in the larger area where they displayed this cute animated universe on the large screen/ wall. Spacious, plenty of seating and two large bars on each side of the restaurant. Parking was plentiful and the restaurant validates the ticket for you. Service was great, thanks so much Mary! However the food was okay.. hence the 3 stars. Everything was a bit bland, and the wagyu was dry. I love dessert as well, and the matcha tiramisu was just okay... sowweee I tried to like it. The "what the flame" drink was super good though and it was cool when they lit it on fire.

Yelp
I hosted a dinner party here to celebrate my brother and SIL getting married and it was a great experience from start to finish. Nova has a couple of private rooms that you can reserve depending on the size of your party and the fee is completely reasonable compared to other restaurants that I looked into. On the day of the party, we were able to come in an hour early to decorate. They even let us bring in our own cake without charging us any fees and even brought out a cake stand for us to use. During the dinner, food came out quick and our server Ryan checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a great expedience and would recommend for hosting large parties.

Yelp
This was my second time visiting Nova Kitchen in the last three years, and I was excited to try some new menu items. I came to celebrate a birthday and started with the "My Revenge" cocktail, so good! We shared several dishes, including the Zesty Wonton, Floating Garlic Noodz, Sizzling Seafood Fried Rice, Dragon Roll, and the Gochu-nara Birds Nest. One item came out late, but the staff was very accommodating and offered 50% off without us even asking. The decor is modern and stylish, making the whole dining experience even better. Always a great spot, can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
I've had this placed bookmarked for a while, but I don't remember why. I probably saw it online or something. I finally made it here on a Sunday night with reservations and it was a subpar experience. Again, I must've seen something online about this place, but I don't remember what it was. Either way, I was excited to try out a new restaurant. The restaurant is behind Hyatt Regency with validated parking. The entire space is a big room with a screen at the front. There is a fully stocked bar with a good amount of seating. Since it was the first evening out as parents without the baby I was excited to drink. I had the Sunrise In Kyoto and Pink Dragon. Both were light in alcohol, but tasted well. For food we shared: Floating Garlic Noodles - Let's be honest, you get this for looks. The taste is not existent. It was pretty much tasteless. Ami Miso Cod - My favorite of the evening. This is a must!!! The crust tasted so good and the fish was flaky. Wagyu Fillet Skillet - This was okay and on a bed of mushrooms. Broccolini - This was tasteless as well. Service here was good and the server was nice, but I don't know if it's because they weren't busy. It was weird though, while having dinner there were several gnats that were flying over our food. I had to swat them away with my hand. I haven't done this at a restaurant before. While looking around the atmosphere I also noticed a cobwebs on the front right corner of their huge screen. Why is it there??? You might want to get that cleaned Nova. For the price you pay and the quality of food is pretty infuriating. There is no way that this meal was $200 worth!!! If I was blown away by the food and drinks then sure the value would be worth it, but it wasn't. The total cost should've been just over $100. I will not come back here again and I can't say whether I regret coming here or not.

Yelp
Ummm such amazing vibes!!! The wagyu ribeye was too die for and the TNT drink was delicious. Loved everything about this place! The manager Drew was fabulous. He was kind and over the top friendly!!!

Yelp
I was able to attend a YELP Elite event at the Sports Basement in Long Beach. Nova Kitchen and Bar were there handing out samples. I was able to try one of their bite sized offerings of a chunk of Carne Asada. This small piece of meat was cooked to perfection with all the flavors you are looking for in this dish. Nova will be my next dinner spot in Garden Grove.

Yelp
The decor of this place was amazing. Definitely a great date night spot. The staff were extremely sweet and very accommodating. They do validate your parking for up to 3 hours, which was nice. The drinks were tasty and most of my food was yummy. I wasn't a huge fan of the veggie fried rice as it was mainly Brussels sprouts and not much other veggies, and was rather bland, so I wouldn't really recommend that. The spicy tuna crispy rice was really good as was the double hamachi roll. They offer a brunch that sounded cool, so I'd be up to coming back to check that out too.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place! Our waiter Dennis was very knowledgable about the menu and we ordered what he recommended and it was soooo good! Definitely will be coming back here. We celebrated an anniversary and we were surprised with an anniversary card and dessert from the restaurant. This was the cherry on top. Thank you Dennis and Nova

Yelp
Mary was amazing, service was impeccable, and food was fantastic. Mary was super knowledgeable about the menu options and specials. She made some fantastic recommendations! I could have been more satisfied with the entire experience. The atmosphere was also top tier Ask for Mary when you are dining @ Nova! I Cant wait to come back and try out some other options.

Yelp
When a place has over 3000 reviews I pay attention. When it has over 5000 reviews I'm impressed. And when there's over 7000 reviews (at 4.6 stars) I know I must try it! And I had that privilege last weekend to come and eat here as a surprise from my beautiful wife! From the outside it is very unassuming. As it sits in the shadows of several large hotels. There's hotel parking across from it that you can park at. Make sure to bring your parking pass with you as Nova will validate it. What you first encounter as you walk towards Nova (at night in the dark), is this brightly lit aura, as you walk towards it, you come to realize all the lights and shimmering tassels on the ceiling. Then they lead you into the main dining room which is dark, and your eyes instantly gravitate towards the huge star wall at the far end of the room. Its definitely a conversation peice. And its also visually stunning, setting the entire mood of the room. Our waiter was super nice. I forgot his name. But the service was exceptional. The food and drinks come out quickly. Presentation is amazing. They comped us dessert because the dessert we originally ordered they were out of. There's an air of specialness in here. You see some people dressed to the T enjoying special occasions. Sitting next to families that with children that are just enjoying dinner. Its family style here. Where everything is shareable. We ordered quite a bit of food. Here's a quick run down of it: 1. Fried chicken pork bao- chicken was succulent and juicy. Too much cabbage or slaw inside. Sauce was good. And the bao was so fluffy! 2. Pork belly bao- the pork belly was amazing!! In that sauce and it paired perfectly. Balanced by the warm pillowy bao. Not much other fluff in it. They let the pork belly, the sauce and the bao stand on its on. And it worked. It was so good we had to order 2 plates of it. 3. Spicy tuna crispy rice- this one was not my favorite. I didnt like how the tuna was mashed into a mushroom. The crispy was good. Love the texture. But they formed them into these bulky rectangular box shapes, which made them awkward to eat. 4. Octopus with Japanese herbs- this was on of our favorite dishes. Presentation was amazing. Octopus had the right texture. The sauce it was in was tart and citrusy. It was perfect. Light yet substantial. 5. Red snapper carpacio- it was ok. After having a flavor explosion like the Octopus. This one was tame in flavor. Never had raw red snapper. It looked beautiful. Too thinly sliced for me though to really get the essence of the red sealer. 6. Toro nigiri- now this was amazing. Absolutely the perfect night of fish. The buttery sweetness of the toro is just next level. Top quality stuff!! 7. OMG honey- specialty roll. Good mixture of ingredients. Definitely high quality fish. I really enjoyed the balance in flavors. Presentation again was beautiful. 8. Chocolate cake- this was rich and decadent. Love how the chocolate ran out when you cut into it. It was moist and rich. The ice cream paired well with it. The strawberries also paired well with the cake and ice cream. 9. Pink dragon- beautiful Presentation. A pineapple rum drink. Tasted amazing. On the sweeter end of things. But really good. 10. Pandan samurai- a thicker drink because of the pandan. An acquired taste. If you like pandan, you will like this drink. 11. What the flame- 10/10 Presentation with the fire and the sparks from the cinnamon!! Its very smooth. Great flavors. A coconut rum based drink. Cinnamon works well with it. There's a hint of citrus in it. Its very good. 12. Hanoi mash- its their play on an old fashion. Definitely the opposite of sweet and fruity. But its also definitely very smooth. Its a sipper. I enjoyed the very forward whiskey notes in it. Overall we had a great experience here. And unforgettable night. Visually the star wall and food and drinks were just a sight to behold. The food tastes great. You definitely taste subtleness of each fish. But it wasen't bland or weak. It was bold without being obnoxious. It felt high end and special without being pretentious. I would definitely come back here again!! *note- they have a happy hour menu. And you can request to roll a dice. If you roll 7's you get $75 off of whatever you order from their happy menu. Is it necessary? No. Is it something cool? 100%

Yelp
After Sunday mass, I was able to book a reservation thru OpenTable. Parking is by the Hyatt hotel and the restaurant will give you a validation. The restaurant looks pretty from the outside and once you open the big door, you are greeted by the flower decor hanging from the ceiling which adds a lil drama from the entrance. We got seated right away and the restaurant is a but dim and I am assuming it gets darker after sunset. Bathroom was huge and clean and they had a full length mirror. Service was great. Although one of our food came at a later time when we were almost done with our entree which we had to inform our server that the appetizer hadn't come out yet. For drinks they had some fun looking cocktails. My husband ordered the Han Noi Smash hibiki ($29) whiskey, mango, rosemary syrup, lemon, ice tea float and I had a kahurangi moutere new zealand saugvignon blanc. ($11) Food was delicious we ordered the kalbi beef, fried chicken n4c and crispy rice spicy tuna.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Came here for a birthday party and was seated in the private room. Great cocktails and asian fusion tapas style. Ryann was our server and was very sweet and attentive. Would come back again

Yelp
We celebrated my friend Brenden at Nova Kitchen and Bar, the whole experience was amazing. The private party room had such a great vibe. Our server, Ryann, was the absolute best. Super friendly, on top of everything, and really made us feel taken care of the whole time. The food was so good, I wish I snapped a photo of the plates but we ate them so fast as soon as they hit the table.

Yelp
The food here is all around great. We got sushi, the Hawk, chili wontons and more. All were really good. The sushi here does stand out however. The quality of the ingredients in the sushi were noticeable better and fish was fresh. The presentation of everything was very photogenic! The service was good. We came at around 4:45pm on a Thursday and made a reservation for 6 people. Our drinks and food came out at a good time and we were well attended to. The only bad part was that we ordered the Hawk medium rare and it came out medium well. Might have misheard us when we ordered. This place's ambiance is probably the best thing here. Very instagram-able. When you enter you are greeted with a bunch of hanging flowers and we were seated near the bar area where there is a giant screen with a space theme. The decor has asian aspects but also felt like we were in a fancy club. The restaurant is located next to a hotel and you have to pay to park in the lot. I would recommend coming here with friends before a night out for good vibes and food.

Yelp
Nova used to be my go-to spot for a quick fine dining experience -- great service and conveniently just a short drive from home. However, after coming back for the first time in a year, this will sadly be my last visit. The portion sizes have noticeably shrunk to about two-thirds of what they used to be. I'm confident in saying this because I've dined here many times before and even had a friend who worked here. It's unacceptable to feel unsatisfied after ordering five dishes for just two people. This isn't an omakase experience, yet for the same price, I'd leave an omakase restaurant feeling more content with both the quality and quantity. Unfortunately, what used to be a dependable, moderately upscale restaurant has now declined in both food and service. Very disappointing -- goodbye, Nova.
