Described by Wine Spectator magazine as a "modern, architecturally stunning" winery," Novelty Hill-Januik brings two independent estates under one roof to share a tasting room and production facility in Woodinville, approximately 20 minutes northeast of Seattle. Veteran Washington winemaker Mike Januik makes award-winning wine for both Novelty Hill and Januik. The tasting room is open daily. No appointment is necessary for groups of 7 or less. An appointment is required for groups of 8 or more; contact the winery to make an appointment or to learn more about scheduled tasting experiences. In addition to an expansive tasting menu, guests enjoy amenities including fireplaces, a bocce ball court and patio seating. On weekends, the in-house culinary team offers a selection of farm-fresh, oven-fired pizzas. Check with the winery for information on special events, as well as private event rooms for business use or celebratory occasions, including weddings.
"Wine tours with friends can quickly go south. Before you know it, a nice afternoon turns into a dramatic saga with name-calling and fake tears. If you need a brief timeout from anyone whose attitude is currently being sponsored by Sauvignon Blanc, Novelty Hill is a fantastic place to spread out and split up. Unlike other tasting rooms where you’re forced to share wine-scented oxygen with everyone you came with, this one has a large courtyard patio with a variety of different seating arrangements to choose from. Sit on a couch far away from other people, take a breather, and continue to slurp crisp watermelon-pink rosé. There are a bunch of snacks available to have with your tasting, too—like tasty pizzas and fried chicken sliders." - aimee rizzo
"Sliders would like to remind you that they’re sandwiches too. We didn’t think we’d find some of the area’s finest at a Woodinville winery, but here we are. The tenderly dredged babies at Novelty Hill-Januik are damn delightful, with impeccable juiciness, a lemon-forward mayo, sharp pickled red cabbage, and itty bitty brioche rolls. A plate of three pairs really well with their zesty GSM rosé. " - aimee rizzo, gabe guarente
"Wine tours with friends can quickly go south. Before you know it, a nice afternoon out turns into a dramatic saga with name-calling and fake tears. If you need a brief time-out from anyone whose attitude is currently being sponsored by one too many gulps of Sauvignon Blanc, Novelty Hill is a fantastic place to spread out and split up for a bit. Unlike other tasting rooms where you’re forced to share wine-scented oxygen with everyone you came with, this one has a really big patio with a variety of different seating arrangements to choose from.
