Novo Brazil Brewing - Imperial Beach

Popped in for a burger on the back half of a 50 mile bike ride. Really enjoyed the Novo Burger and and fries. Big selection of beverages to choose from and I really enjoyed the kombucha. Nice patio to enjoy the sun and food and drinks. Highly recommend trying this place out of you’re in the area.

My husband and I like to bike the strand from the Coronado beach park lot. Our reward is a stop at Novo Brazil Brewing Company located in Imperial Beach .This pic is my recent lunch and I paired it with mango and mint kombucha. I have had burgers ( delicious), chicken and tacos but my summer go to is one of their salads. My husband’s fave is the macaroni and cheese ( check it out) with their homemade sausage, and he loves the kombucha that has a bit of jalapeño. We took home a variety pack to try more flavors. Cannot miss! Super nice staff as well.

Came here with a large business party on a reservation during Friday lunch. The place was not busy at all. We ended up taking one of the large counter tables outside. We were either standing or sitting on the stools. People in our group continued to trickle in, but everyone was able to order individually when they were ready. During my visit, I ordered a Kombucha flight, Sweet Potato Fries, and Fish & Chips. The Kombucha flight was good, being able to taste four different brews they had. The Sweet Potato Fries was really good, having good seasoning and cook on it. The Fish & Chips were okay. The fish was cooked really well, but just needed some seasoning. The fries it came with were good. My colleague ordered Carne Asada Nachos. It was good, but missing some flavor. Sitting out, cold water was self-service. The service was really good and attentive. Our main waitress was always around checking on us and taking orders with a friendly interaction and smile. Our orders were quickly brought out that I noticed. Parking is free with a handful slots designated for Nova and there is street parking in the area. I would come back to try other food and drinks.

Nice sports bar/restaurant with multiple large screens to watch multiple sporting events. Lots of indoor seating and also a very large patio. Family friendly with a nice view. Only got to sample their potato croquet and two types of kombucha. They're ok. Nothing special, IMO. I really enjoyed the ambience. Perfect location to hang out to watch the game or just relax and enjoy a drink.

Great brewery near the bike path with lots of different beers, kombucha, and food. I stumbled upon this place while biking and instantly fell in love. I enjoyed sitting outside with a beautiful view and tried their hard kombucha.

After a scenic bike ride from the Coronado Ferry Bike Path to Chula Vista, we stopped by Novo Brewing Imperial Beach and were thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was lively, and the outdoor seating area was perfect for enjoying a cold beer on a warm day. The food menu offered a variety of tasty options, including burgers, tacos, and sandwiches. Novo Brewing's craft beers many choices and a wide range of styles to choose from, we enjoyed sampling a few different options. ## Overall Experience Our experience at Novo Brewing Imperial Beach was fantastic. The combination of great food, excellent craft beers, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a perfect stop after our bike ride. We'd highly recommend Novo Brewing to anyone looking for a great spot to relax and enjoy some good food and drinks. Buffalo wings and cheese balls were delicious. Had the Hot Cactus kombucha, which was surprisingly good. Nice outdoor seating area that’s adult and kid friendly with great views of the bay. Service was exceptionally slow to come by and see if I needed anything.

A very hidden San Diego Gem hidden in Imperial Beach! Indoor and outdoor door area with plenty of room to accommodate multiple parties. Monday through Friday HAPPY hour from 1200 to 6 pm. 10/10 would recommend!

The 3 things i look for are Value, Taste, and Customer Service anywhere I go and Novo blew these out of the water. In town from PHX, AZ. Staying nearby and was simply looking for a local brewery. Noticed Novo was only about 5 mins away so i didn't even think twice. This place on vibe/looks alone is a 10/10. It seemed to be a slow night but hey, even better. I grabbed a menu, grabbed a table, and proceeded on. I received PHENOMENAL service by this lovely server (update: her name is Sam/Samantha) During my "stay" i had the Amber, Blonde, and the Stout. For food i had the Novo Burger. 200/10 all around. Everything was incredible. Will DEFINITELY be back (prob as early as tomorrow, lol)

This is our go-to place to watch the UFC fights and it never disappoints. I've been hesitant to keep letting the secret out that this is the place but if you like the UFC fights, this is the place to watch them! Parking can be limiting since it's only street parking but we came early for the fights and while the craziness of the regular day folks + kids were still playing, we were able to secure our table and perfect view of the fights. The TVs are massive. The tables accommodate all different size parties but you have to arrive early! Once the fights start, they do ask people to either pay $10-$15 (I forget) or leave so the fight can be begin. It's definitely an investment for the businesses to pay for the fights- UFC is not cheap. Our server was attentive to us and I love that they always have non-alcoholic kombucha options. I get the mango one.

Located almost exactly halfway through the Bayshore bikeway loop, is hidden gem one of the best breweries and restaurants in the county. They have the best burger I've ever had in San Diego and some of the best most unique beer as well. Do yourself a favor and do the Bayshore bikeway and stop off at this restaurant brewery right alongside it, enjoy their amazing beer, food, and views.

To start, let me just say that I love their Sunset slam hard kombucha. I've tried many and this is one of my favorites. I was in the area and decided it was about time I visited one of their locations. In typical brewery fashion, the space was large with both indoor and outdoor seating, lots of TVs which was perfect for watching the padres game and a live DJ. I believe the patio looks out onto the back bay and city skyline, making for a pretty decent view. What impressed me is the variety of offerings, not just booch but beer, wine & cocktails as well as non-alcoholic options and a pretty big food menu. I am a huge fan of flights so naturally I ordered the kombucha flight which included my favorite sunset slam. The others were the La Ola, lychee lemonade & W lime. Also ordered was the beer flight since I had never tried their beer - consisting of Chula, Momo, Mango & Ipanema which I believe are 3 IPAs and 1 lager. Altogether the beer was decent but nothing special, though I thoroughly enjoyed the booch flight. As for food, the items are on the pricier side, so I ordered the Novo burger and they were kind enough to cut it in half so my partner and I could share. Very tasty burger and fries. Overall, very quick service and there was always someone nearby if you needed something. I'm glad I visited and I enjoyed the fun, casual environment, good booch and service. I'll have to check out their other locations now.

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and this place was packed! Novo was hosting a Holiday party and part of the establishment was blocked off. My cousins and their kids were already there and so my son and I sat with them. I disnt have to wait too long to be seated. When the waiter came by, we ordered the following items: Tamarindo hard cider Kid's cheeseburger and fries Tacos (carne asada, shrimp and fish) Food came out at a decent time. I was starving and began eating immediately. Tacos were pretty small. I ate them all with 3-4 bites. They are like mini tacos. Also, tacos were pretty bland and not so great. With so many options around the area, I should have ordered something else. The carne asada and shrimp didn't have too much flavor. The best out of the 3 was the fish taco. Don't order the tacos here. I saw my cousin eating a burger and he said it was good so next time I'll have that. My son enjoyed his cheeseburger and fries. You can't really mess that up. The Tamarindo hard cider was good and refreshing! I really enjoyed it. Also, it was pretty strong for a hard cider! I was a bit buzzed and I have a rather high tolerance. I'd come back here for more hard cider and to try other items on the menu. Parking can be a bit challenging but I got lucky that day. Also, the bathrooms were nice and clean.

Super happy with our large group event hosted here! They have multiple options for food on their group menu, like vegetarian, appetizers, skewers and burgers. The group dining menu was reasonably priced and the staff was super helpful and friendly with everything we asked. Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, a nice view from the patio, multiple big TV screens. Seriously a great spot!!

We have gone to this local a few times now. We mostly go for a drink and to sit on the patio, but most recently decided to have some food as well. The always have a large selection of beers and kombucha, which works well for us. My husband likes to get the beer, and I like the booch. Their kombucha options are always really fun, and I feel like it adds to the feel of the Brazilian roots. I do think their drink prices are a little high, but they do offer some daily specials that make it a better deal. As far as the food, both the steak and empanadas were pretty good, but also on the higher price side for other brewery type restaurant. Service is always friendly there. Sometimes the servers seem to not know a lot about their product, so maybe a little more server education. We like that there are TVs for watching games, but would love to have some outside. Overall it is definitely somewhere to check out, and we will return. It has a nice vibe and is a unique brewery/restaurant.

My husband and I decided to have our baby shower here this past weekend. We have been regulars here for a couple of years now. But let me just say, we are so happy we chose to have our baby shower here! Everything was pretty customizable to our needs/wants. They even let us bring in a sweets/snack table, and they let us barrow a foldable table. The waitresses were on point and management was on point checking in with us before, during, and after the event. Our guests were really pleased with their food and said everything was delicious! As we already knew it would be The space is so perfect for a larger group as well. As you can see from the pictures, we had a lot of space to work with! Thank you Novo for making our baby shower perfect and stress free!

The whole time we were there there were kids running around and screaming. I was mostly fine with that until one of them ran straight into our table without looking and spilled my beer all over my laptop and backpack. When my server got back the first thing he told us was that the manager said they weren't liable for damages. I didn't ask, and it really rubbed me the wrong way. Now I'm writing this at 2am in the bathroom because I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning. - Server did his best. He's not at fault. - Manager is out of touch. - Has a lot of kids with irresponsible parents. - Maybe gave me food poisoning. - otherwise a nice location. Too bad I'm not going back

Took my mom + brother out to lunch. The restaurant was open + customers inside a few minutes after noon. Our waiter was Andreas delivering our glasses of water before ordering. My brother went with the 3 Tacos ( 2 Carne Asada + 1 shrimp) He was happy with the Carne Asada Tacos, plenty of meat + guacamole. Not so much with the Shrimp (small Bay Shrimp) taco. Shared the Calamari between the 3 of us. Mom had the Fish + Chips and was extremely happy with her meal. Can't forget the beer that Andreas recommended. I forget if it was Chula or the Nova Lager, pint size of course. Look at my photo of the Chicken Buffalo sandwich. The photo is an explanation in it self. It was big + good. I can't say enough about the staff at this restaurant. They've been friendly + efficient staff + make the dining at the restaurant a treat

Here for Padre playoff game. Got good seats outside as place was packed. Ordering and getting food and service was a zoo. Management needs to get better in getting enough waiters/waitresses on a night like this. Need better system in knowing which table ordered what. I saw servers come out and literally ask 4-5 tables if they ordered the item on their tray. We ordered each a beef empanada which I wouldn't order again. Also had the Carne Asada fries which were not that warm but were afraid to send it back as we would possibly not see our food. I had the Catharina sour beer which I liked. Obnoxious loud Dodger fan made the experience not appeasing

Me and my friends Come here every Friday and always have good food, good service and especially good drinks. Vienna, one of the servers made a drink called " Mexican candy " and its so bomb and good it needs to be on the menu. Definitely something you need to order when you come here.

Absolutely love coming here when we take our bike rides to IB. Always stop sometimes there and back for yummy kombucha and fun fact just found out they have a dog menu. The service here is so great and inviting. Great airflow if you sit inside and great outdoor seating. They play music indoors and along with sports on the big TV's inside. Hands down a place to stop in and relax. Dog friendly local.

Had the way experience here. The staff is amazing, the views are great. Plenty of local parking. The steak was delicious. I will be back.

What an experience with Mario and Novo last night. Packed house. Close game. Awesome service. Mario was the goat. Was able to service my family and I during dinner rush with the game. He made wonderful recommendations for food and drinks. We often go to the Novo in Otay but I think we have a new favorite spot.

My co workers and I come here every Friday! We are usually served by Vienna and she had always been awesome. My normal order is the sunset slam and the buffalo chicken ranch (if you have good taste, follow in my footsteps). Today we got served by Vienna and she offered a special Mexican candy shot for only $6.50. BOMB! Best one I have ever had and I have had them at different locations. Also we found out that this was Vienna's creation. Please put this on the menu and give this girl a raise. She is the heart of Novo - Imperial Beach. Also the vibe here on Friday is always fun but not busy or too loud!

We come here almost friday and service is always excellent!' Everyone is friendly and makijg sure we are okay. Our server Vienna is amazing!!! Its always a good time and food is always good!

Stopped in for late lunch and a 49ers game. On the server's recommendation, I ordered the Berry Salad. I was concerned it would be too sweet, but she assured me that blue cheese and grilled chicken balanced the sweetness. She was right! Very happy with my selection. Not only is it delicious, but I can only eat half, so I have dinner as well. I also tried the Novo favorites flight. It includes the Chula lager. Not normally a lager fan, I actually liked it! I love the open air ambience here. It's chilly today, and even the indoor tables are affected by the breeze because of wide open doors. Bring sleeves! I also recommend the mac & cheese with sausage. Ask for a side of buffalo sauce. Heavenly.

Food and drinks were really good, great ambiance and clean restaurant. Unfortunately we left unhappy because the service was terrible by several servers. Our servers were Mario and Nicole. We have been to other Novo locations and have had great service, not sure why service was bad here. Super disappointed.

The service was excellent. Attentive, cheerful and helpful. The ceviche was fresh and loaded with shrimp, just a little under salted for my taste. The brewery is a large hanger/warehouse type space near the marsh. I felt it was a gem away from the touristy area and great to come with friends since they can accommodate large groups.

I love the strawberry chicken salad, and the buffalo chicken sandwich as well as the healthy bowls and the skewers (both steak and chicken), their Kombucha (hot cactus) is great. Service was iffy when it first opened but so much better now. Love the views and they are dog friendly

Super cool spot , very family friend and there are playhouses for them . It's a nice play to enjoy the view and food was also amazing . Will definitely be back !

The reality is, nobody watches tennis here. The manager claimed that people were watching, but in reality, no one was--I even have a video of the staff not even paying attention to the TV. It's clear that this bar caters to football or baseball fans, not tennis. I asked multiple times for assistance and never received a response. Meanwhile, other Novo bars, like Mission Valley, consistently have the game available. Honestly, this is a disappointing experience and a bar that falls far short of expectations. What a joke

Always one of my favorite spots to eat. I love their Berry Salad, and they have amazing bowls to choose from too (I like the spicy shrimp bowl). Service is fast, staff is friendly. The restaurant is roomy and open, with a great view.

What an amazing location and fantastic food for a brewing/sports bar! The food is delicious, taste super fresh and the portions are generous. My $17 salad had a full chicken breast in it (without overcharging me like many other restaurants do, to add " a protein "). We will stop by EVERY time we do our 27mile bike ride around the bay! A gem!

10/10. Enough said. But for those who need more convincing, here you go. We hosted a baby shower this past weekend and everything was perfect. The staff made the entire process completely stress free, from the weeks preparing to the day of event (with an expected ~100 guests). Sergio and Edwin were extremely detailed, helpful, and patient when it came to planning the layout, setup, buffet, and all other needs. During the party, Jimmy, Jaime, and Vienna were so kind, professional, and accommodating to ensure everyone had a great time. The food and venue speak for themselves. The buffet table was presented beautifully and everything was delicious. Novo's indoor/outdoor atmosphere overlooking the bay across the San Diego Skyline is something you can't get at any other Novo location. We had countless friends and family compliment the venue and ask about hosting events in the future. A big thank you to Novo IB and their incredible staff for a perfect day.

We used Novo for several family events and they were very friendly, approachable and the food was fantastic! There's an open area outdoors by the bay and a children's play area- perfect!

Our high school class of 1973 had our 70th birthday celebration at Novo. Excellent all around. The food, the service and the ambiance was the best. All of our class loved the event. The Michelada is amazing! I have been here a few times and it never disappoints! They have great happy hour Monday-Friday from 12-6pm!

Food isn't consistent, but most of the time it's good. Drinks are good. Service is horrible. I've came here on many occasions where I've seen plenty of workers just hanging around and chatting to other people. I sat outside and inside for over 15-20 minutes on each occasion, without anyone even acknowledging my existence. Again, I came here to try yet again, and lo and behold... same exact thing happened. There were 3 tables that had customers. I was the 4th. Nobody even looked my way. Sadly I won't be returning anymore.

I was just at Novo brewery yesterday, Sunday June 2nd for my sister's baby shower! It was a pretty big event, so I didn't think to check in or write a review while we were there, but I figured now that I've travelled back home and have time, it's worth mentioning how great this place is! It's a very large space, my sister's reserved section for over 60 people only took up about one third of the entire indoor area, plus they set up and outside area for us to have as well! I didn't eat very much while I was there but I did order some fries and they were delicious. I don't drink, but everyone around me was thoroughly enjoying the beers! Most notably though, I want to mention how absolutely amazing the staff was! Isaac was our section's server (for the most part) and they were the most helpful, friendly, quick and attentive person on a service staff that I've seen in a long long time. Isaac is VERY good at their job! Before we left and were packing everything up, Isaac came over to thank us for being such a great group (it got just a tiny bit rowdy with some of the party-goers in our group, what with all the booze and games we were playing) so that was really kind of to say! This spot is top notch, truly! Personally I wasn't a huge fan of the extremely loud Christian rock music coming from the Sunday service church building next door, but that's ok, and it's no fault of the brewery's! Absolutely Novo is a 10/10. And Isaac an 11/10!

Good service. Several people checked in on us throughout our visit. Big fan of their IPA. Burger was good. Carnitas bowl was great! Nachos were ok. Not a fan of their cheese. Location is rad!

Came in with a large party for a graduation but I have been here several times before. Novo was so accommodating with a large outside table and people from our group trickled in and out. We had several orders of chips, salsa and guacamole for everyone and they kept the refills coming. I have come here several times and my absolute favorite thing on the menu is the berry salad. Pictures don't do it justice! It comes with chicken but I always choose the steak upgrade. Spring greens with strawberries, blue cheese crumbles, pumpkin seeds, with a berry vinaigrette dressing. I usually always order it with a side of blue cheese dressing, which I disappointedly learned they don't have anymore. I settled for some extra berry vinaigrette which was actually even better than the blue cheese dressing. The steak is always cooked and seasoned perfect. I talked about it so much, four other people in our party ordered it and also liked it. Friend and I also love coming here for the free line dancing classes once a month.

I had a mid-afternoon party for 40 people. Food was great and served as appetizers for people to take from a buffet line. Service was quick and pleasant for drinks. And I received many complements on what a great venue it was. Thank you Jimmy and Venitian and all Novo staff.

Cool IB location of Novo! Massive and sprawling. Beautiful patio right on the water with views of Coronado and downtown. Service was accurate despite the busyness. My kombucha was refreshing. Parking was challenging, perhaps due to the event. Would be open to returning when in the area.

BLUF: Great place for some eats and to hang out with friends. The food is quite delicious, beer selection is awesome, and the staff were very friendly. We've come here a few times for after work events and have always enjoyed the experience. Definitely recommended! There are no shortages of great brewpubs to go in San Diego; few however offer the complete package of great space, excellent and varied menu, delicious beer selection, and an AWESOME view! Novo definitely nails all three. On the food, they've got a fairly wide selection, with typical brew pub fair, to a few options for those looking for something lighter. It was all delicious though I'm always partial to the burgers. The beer is also great, large variety, again with something for everybody. The space is large, both indoor and outdoor seating, though the large doors kind of nullify any indoor effect, but it's nice to be able to sit inside but still get a good breeze from the bay. The large space allows you to spread out and not interfere with other diners. They have big screens on but they weren't overpowering, at least when we went. And despite going in a fairly large work group (20 pax) the staff have been pretty quick and responsive. Great place for lunch or to hang out with friends!

Good service, good food, and great drinks! We live north but keep coming back to this laid back place for drinks. I try a different kombucha each time and I'm really glad they have various alcoholic and non alcoholic. Drinks are on point and burgers are very good. Service is good, very dog friendly. I just wish it was open later!

2 stars because my previous 3 visits were standard service but nothing special and the drinks are always good but the food is always bad. And ive given this spot multiple chances. Today however was sub par food and service. We sat at the bar and received no welcome. Someone came to us after about 5 mins then proceeded to leave before we could finish placing our order. We finally get our drinks. We order chips and Guac. Tell me why they gave us a bowl of mashed avocados. No seasoning, no other veggies, and stale chips. Literally smooshed avocado. See pic. I wish I sent it back to the kitchen tbh but I was hungry and it was just an appetizer. But it was so bad we decided not to order dinner. Ambience and view are chill but food and service for the prices they charge are not worth it. TLDR: drinks always good, food always bad, service average or bad.

Good beers & friendly bartenders. It's also very close to wear & work, they've usually got sports events in the TVs; so yea, checking most boxes

Nice view of downtown Laid back vibe I paid $17 for bacon cheeseburger and fries... neither had any seasoning which is really disappointing. It gave me heartburn for 19 hours which I've never experienced.. Charged me $1.50 for a tajin rim when the menu says .50 cents. Major turn off. Overall would not return

Been a fan of Novo for a minute now and have finally visited all 4 locations in town. This one is perfect for the bike enthusiasts as it is the end point (or starting point depending where you go) for the strand bike way. Nice views. It's next door to Rad Bikes so this is the perfect spot for bikers/e-bike fans. Spacious interior and laid back vibes. I dig it.

Met up with the ladies the other night for drinks. One of my girls doesn't drink and was able to order non-alcoholic kambucha. The rest of us ordered beers. We love novo! We sat on the couches, looking out at the beautiful sky, with a table filled with wings, fries, salads, and tacos, everything was great as usual! We had 2 amazing waitresses who we wanted to recruit to hang out with us.

Andres is a sweetheart! This place is extremely lucky to have such a wonderful person working for them. Great service & atmosphere.
