Mürver

"The open fire is the heart of the open kitchen at Mürver. Smoked and grilled ingredients form the basis of the creations in which regional produce and innovative combinations make for a culinary adventure. Butter-soft grilled octopus with caramelised onion and a zingy vinaigrette is a signature dish for good reason. This trendy rooftop restaurant also boasts a fabulous cocktail bar where you can soak up the vibe and let Istanbul reveal all its charms on the sublime terrace." - Michelin Inspector

Very friendly staff, nice room. Though room 247 the shower drains very slowly. I didn’t report as wasn’t a big problem. If someone who might take long showers could be an issue. Hotel very clean and looks nine. Areas downstairs good too. The archers bar staff friendly and nice place to sit when waiting for taxi. Also close to the water which I liked. When in Istanbul again I’d return

Nice hotel just by waterfront and galata area.we had quiet room on the second floor which was quite big with a nice shower and big bathroom. Nice breakfast on rooftop which gives a great view but the food was great and much more than you can eat and loads of Turkish food like olives, salads, beard , special cheese and much more . pool is not big but depending on the time I enjoyed it alone and sauna is good. Bar by entrance on the street is quite nice. Area around is safe and sound, old town is 20 minute walk or a few tram stations away which is very close to the hotel. Loads of restaurants around but they are quite tourist. Overall a very pleasant stay. Good service from cleaning

We stayed for almost a week, and it has a great location. There are many nearby luxury shops and restaurants, and we walked along the Galataport promenade almost every evening. The light rail is not far, and it gets you to most of the major old city sights. There is a funicular nearby, and it gets you up the hill to more shopping and restaurants that are less touristy. We had breakfast upstairs on the roof most days, and the food and service are great. Our room was well appointed, had a nice bathroom, and had a comfy bed. We would stay there again.

I stayed 7 nights in this hotel for a business trip. Overall, this hotel has clean rooms (small rooms), friendly staff, breakfast is very good and the location is great to walk to the old city and all major historical sites. The only major issue, at least for me, and reason why I'm probably not going back, is that according to the room they give you, if you are a light sleeper forget about sleeping until 3am, 6 days a week (only Mondays are quiet). Extremally loud music (I had to sleep with noise cancelling headphones and still could feel the vibration of the music inside the room) coming from the bars, that starts at 6pm and goes until 3am non-stop. My room faced the street but maybe if you get a room facing the inside, maybe is better.

The hotel is good but it doesn't feel like it's 5 stars hotel at all. The rooms don't have a coffee machine even though they are available in 4 star hotels. I also didn't like the bathrooms as the shower doesn't have any privacy as I could see the person taking a shower even if the blind feature is on. Location was amazing and the staff were amazing as well

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price I recently stayed at Novotel and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The price was significantly high for what was offered. The room furniture was outdated and worn, and the shower had issues,it wasn’t functioning properly. Additionally, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, which was quite disappointing for a hotel in this category. Even the lobby was uncomfortable, as the air conditioning wasn’t working and it felt hot and stuffy. The only positive aspect of my stay was the hotel’s location, which is convenient and central. Overall, I expected much better for the price paid. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements

We stayed at Novotel for 7 nights. The service, the staff and the location were all fantastic. Our room was cleaned every day and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional. Thank you Saim Akarsu for your friendly and professional service. Located by the Bosporus, the hotel is just 3 minutes walk from the ferry landing stage and Galata Bridge. It’s also within walking distance of Galata tower, Beyoğlu, and Sultanahmet district. We had breakfast at the Archer Bistro bar on the ground floor on several days - the menu had lots of options and the food was delicious. Thank you Enes for your friendly and professional service at Archer. Archer also presented live music on Saturday night which was very enjoyable. If you fancy exploring other options outside of the hotel, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within a short walk. The entrance to Galataport is just opposite the hotel and it is full of shops and restaurants. This was the third time that I have stayed in this hotel and I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The custodian, Noktam, on our floor is excellent in attitude and service — topping up additional water and tissue boxes as we need it, and always giving us fresh supplies. And she cheerfully greets us every morning the moment we open our doors. The reason why I don’t rate the room itself 5 stars is the fact that the hotel room itself and the technology within it feels a bit dated.

Yelp
Moved here from what turned out to be a sketchy hotel originally booked. I know what to expect from Novotel. Basic comfort and cleanliness and helpful staff who can speak English is found here! Great restaurants nearby and nearly on the water. Such a great location. Near public transport lots of food options and shopping. Rooftop bar and dining & breakfast is lovely except if there is a cruise ship blocking the view. The spa downstairs in -1 is amazing! Had an incredible massage from Laura. Did not experience the hammam. Maybe next time. Lovely staff every one of them! So helpful and kind. Mehmet at breakfast made your whole breakfast experience feel welcoming and special. Kubilay at the front desk was helpful I. Retro resolve my Accor account. All the young men there were helpful. Only advice is 5th floor is below rooftop breakfast so Sunday night was endless carts/tables/chairs? rolling around. Fell asleep at 2:28am. I would restart here again!

Yelp
I was meeting people in Istanbul and needed a hotel close to them.  They were staying in the Karakoy district of Istanbul so when I looked for nearby hotels I found the Novotel.  The hotel is located in the back part of an entertainment section in this neighborhood where there are clubs and restaurants.  The back of the hotel faces this area while the front faces the river; there is still a lot of construction and renovations being done around the hotel so there are not a lot of services near the hotel.  The hotel is a 3-minute walk to the main street and from there you can access the tram, taxis, as well as walk another 5-7 minutes for more restaurants and services. As you enter the hotel, you pass the elevators to go towards the check-in desks on the right-side.  There are only two check-in desks and that was not sufficient for the size nor amount of people checking-in; it was a bit chaotic and there was a long wait depending on what time you checked in.  Further into the hotel is the bar and restaurant and on the left side is the small 'business' area with computer and printers (although the printer did not work for me so I had to send it to the front desk to print out - which a lot of people seemed to do).  I checked in, received my key and proceeded to my room. The room was spacious and as you entered into the room there was a hallway which the right-side of the hallway are closets that run along the hallway.  The closest consists both of a standard closet next to another closet with shelves; the closets provided a lot of storage places.  On the other side of the hallway was the bathroom which had the sink in the middle, the toilet on one side and the shower on the other (the shower had a window to the room and I do not know why so many hotels are doing this?!!).  As part of being a full-service hotel, the bathroom did have nice amenities including fair-trade products such as soap, shower gel, shampoo, and other products.  Additional bathroom amenities included very big and nice towels, which were good quality and very large towels. The room was spacious and had all the amenities of a nice hotel.  You entered into the a hallway on At the end of the hallway was the main section of the room which had two beds with nightstands on either side as well as reading lights.  The beds were bigger than a twin but definitely smaller than a full  so were both bit small in terms of length and width but they were comfortable enough and provided a comfortable sleep; the duvet on top was also comfortable as well.  Between the bed and the long window was a chair and a couch which was nice to sit and enjoy the view; in front of the bed was a desk to work on and a TV mounted on the wall.  In the bedroom section but connected to the closets was a section for the coffee maker, a fridge, and a safe in the room.  These were in the nook in the closets and provided a nice touch. As a full-service hotel, there were many amenities that were provided. The hotel contains a bar, a restaurant, a pool, a fitness center,  a spa, free wifi, laundry services, room service, and a barber shop.  Most of these amenities were located on the basement level - I went during COVID so not all amenities were available.  The amenities I used were the free wifi, which was average and decent; and in the time of COVID a PCR test I booked through the hotel.  I needed a PCR test for arrival into my next country so I emailed the hotel and booked a PCR test through the hotel; if I had one in the morning I would have the results by the evening so I booked it for late morning.  The hotel got the timing wrong and I only found this out the night before when I went to confirm my appointment which turned out to be early morning and not late morning; all went well and I got my test done and the emailed the results to the front desk to print out (as the main printer was not working). In the end, it was an average stay at the Novotel.  The full service amenities provided by the hotel were nice, the location of the hotel was decent but this did not compensate for the poor customer service.  The hotel provided poor to minimal customer service.  The Novotel provides full service amenities, but not the full service customer service.

Yelp
Our stay was very nice. From our room to the amenities everything was great. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom separating the bedroom was made out of glass and they have that feature where you could tint the wall so no one can see you, or not if you don't mind showing your business. Breakfast was included in our stay and the food was decent. But the view from their restaurant is pretty spectacular. It overlooks the water and if y Istanbul, but it rained while we were there so that was a bit of a downer. We would definitely go back and stay here.

Yelp
A great hotel in a nice location along the river. Beautiful modern rooms, nice on-site restaurant, and views looking out to the river and the city beyond.
