My wife and I chose Nowak’s for our anniversary dinner this past February, and it turned out to be a wonderful decision. At first glance, the exterior feels like a typical strip mall spot, but the moment you step inside, the ambiance completely changes. The lighting is soft, the atmosphere inviting, and the staff immediately make you feel welcome. Our servers struck the perfect balance—attentive without hovering. They took the time to ask about our occasion, walked us through the menu, and patiently answered every question. For a first visit, that level of care made a big difference. We started with Nowak’s Shrimp, which was light and refreshing, setting the tone for the rest of the evening. The highlight was the 32 oz Cowboy Ribeye, cooked medium and shared between us. It was tender, flavorful, and truly memorable. To round out the meal, we ordered broccoli, fondant potatoes, and corn with bacon and jalapeños, all served family style. Each side complemented the steak perfectly. From beginning to end, the experience felt thoughtful and genuine. The service was seamless, the food outstanding, and the setting far more charming than you’d expect from the outside. We left feeling celebrated, and without hesitation, I’d recommend Nowak’s to anyone looking for a special night out. We’ll definitely be back.

Some moments feed the soul — and some moments feed the plate. This night did both. I was invited to my 30-year class reunion and had a lifetime experience reconnecting with classmates after decades apart. Catching up was full of laughter, storytelling, and familiar faces turned wiser. But what made the cake sweet — and the icing even better — was dining at Nowak’s Steakhouse, a spot I’ve been wanting to experience for some time. There was no way I was going to stand around getting teased by passed hors d'oeuvres all night without showing I knew my way around a steakhouse. I came ready. Brought my best companion — my wife — so we could both enjoy the evening with full hearts and full plates. We ordered with intent. I had my eyes on my favorite cut: a ribeye done right. And I made sure to leave room next time for the bone-in cowboy. It’s a return I’m already planning for. After 30 years of becoming a man who has a taste for many indulgences and opulent pleasures, it felt right to close the evening with a personal touch — Chef Nowak’s special cut, just for me and mine. The service? Excellent. Polished but warm. From the kitchen to the table, everything was delivered with care and confidence. I even had to resist going back for more of those delicious sliders (I’m watching the carbs these days — I promise I tried). Special shoutout to my best friend Cliff, who sat there watching me clean my plate. Don’t judge me, Cliff. It was worth every bite. To the Nowak’s team — thank you for elevating this night from a reunion into a memory I’ll savor for years to come. I’ll soon return with my companion and my empty belly—for sure.

We had an incredible experience at Nowak’s Steakhouse! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The food was absolutely 10/10 — perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. Our steaks were perfectly prepared. Creamed spinach awesome. Shrimp appetizer was so good. What made our night even better was the service. Our server, James, was phenomenal — personable, attentive, and perfectly timed with everything. He made us feel truly taken care of without ever being overbearing. The combination of excellent food and impeccable service made for a night we enjoyed tremendously. Highly recommend!

Google
Really incredible steak restaurant. The owner Blaiss and his wife Jenni are fantastic. The food is top notch. I've been to both the original location and this one and the atmosphere is different but cool in both. This location has a dark sexy atmosphere that surprises you when you open the door and walk in. A few of us had the filet mignon and it was perfect. I came with a work dinner, entertaining some of our vendors. Everything from the appetizers to dessert, wine and mocktails 💯

Google
Really enjoy the atmosphere, we like the bar, bartenders and staff are fantastic. Start out with a cocktail either Martini or Bourbon for me. As an app we love the blue cheese chips, the French Onion Soup is amazing Steak, Chicken, Cheeseburger or Spaghetti & Meatballs you can’t go wrong. Sides have a twist fondue potatoes or corn with jalapeños to name a few. Desert should not be missed, lemon ice box or chocolate cream incredible. (I’m allergic to peanuts so no opinion there) makes an incredible date night, but the restaurant is fantastic for the whole family!

Google
We went to Nowak's Steakhouse for our Anniversary Dinner and were very disappointed. I ordered the blackened filet medium well and it was so charred, I couldn't finish it. I understand that people order steak at varying temperatures. At the very least, it should be edible, based on your preference. The best part of the meal for me, unfortunately, was the wine.

Came here to celebrate Valentine’s Day and was a little disappointed. I ended up forgetting to review the place because of how much I didn’t care for the experience. The service we got from our waiter was very subpar. He did his job but didn’t have much energy and rarely came to check on us. We ended up waiting about an extra 15 minutes after we were done with our food because he didn’t stop by for so long. I ordered the KC Bone-In Steak and was quite disappointed. It wasn’t as ordered and came out more Medium-Well than Medium-Rare. I would’ve loved to send it back but our waiter was nowhere to be seen and I didn’t care to wait for him to come. My partner on the other hand ordered the Chicken Parmesan and absolutely loved it! I may come back as it could’ve just been Valentine’s Day and the waiter was busy and my partner loved her food so I could’ve just got unlucky. For the price paid though, I definitely expected a better experience!

Google
We had a great time at Nowak’s. From our server, Ian, being so welcoming and accommodating to the owner, Blaze, coming over to chat with us, we can’t say enough about the service. The food was also phenomenal. Everything was delicious and we are glad to have found this gem.

Yelp
My wife and I were blown away by Nowak's. Sister (son) restaurant to Hal's in Buckhead, this place sits in an unassuming strip mall in Sandy Springs. Walk into an almost club-like restaurant without the noise. Our reservation was seated promptly. Service was fantastically attentive. Food top to bottom was absolutely delicious from their house salad to oysters, steak, potatoes, and peanut butter pie. You'll find steakhouse prices, but diners will find that the quality and quantity of food received is worth the money. It's nice not having to drive into Buckhead for good steak. We'll be back 5/5

Yelp
We came here for our annual twins birthday dinner and I was very impressed. Nowak's is tucked away in a strip mall and although it's not an ideal location, the interior and food make up for it. Food was delicious and service was great and informative about their specials and what their favorites. I now have to take my girlfriend back since she saw all the pics I posted on my IG story.

Yelp
I'm somewhere between a 2 and 3 stars. I probably go to a high end steak house once every three months. it was such a bummer. the food was so salty borderline inedible. Between the appetizers and the main, I actually asked for them to tone down the salt., and ithe main was still over salted. the manager came before food came out and never came back to check (they usually check many times times at a high end place). I would put it near the bottom of the steakhouses in Atl.

Bryan L.

Yelp
The best French Dip you will ever have. The new interior really changes the vibe of the place. Steaks are terrific. Lobster Labeaux appetizer was great. Thumbs up

R L.

Yelp
Excellent service and amazing food. Desserts are homemade! Owner and staff were over the top taking care of our service!

Yelp
Great food and service. French onion soup and Porterhouse steak were delicious. Will definitely be back. Don't be turned off by the odd location.

JaggedEdge M.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The service was exceptional, Thank you Ian. The desserts were, WOW, Thank you Ms. Linda. I hope to return again soon. I would like to write another 5 star review so i could say i gave them a 10 star review.

Yelp
The Branzino was amazing. Crispy skin and buttery texture. Added some lemon to the asparagus to make an excellent pairing. The Nowaks Shrimp (not pictured) is a delicious starter as well! We ate at the bar and enjoyed great ambiance throughout the entire establishment. Make sure you visit the awesome bartenders Brian and Tommy for expertly crafted drinks and fun conversation!

Yelp
We ended up at this location due to the Morningside location being closed for the Fourth of July holiday. It's located in a shopping center in Sandy Springs. We had a party of 6 to celebrate a birthday and were seated promptly upon arrival. My drink of choice was a sidecar. It was delectable! I'm still dreaming of the Nowak's shrimp appetizer. It's made in the New Orleans bbq shrimp style and it's amazing. My filet was cooked perfectly. Their truffle fries are really good as well. The service was great throughout the evening and we enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious. Amazing cocktails and service. Lighting was extremely dim.

Yelp
My wife and I ate at Nowak's for the first time last night (10/5/2023). I expect to be back many times if our experiences continue to be like last night. Nowak''s is located in a strip center with LA Fitness at the corner of Abernathy and Roswell Rd. It occupies what used to be Canton Cooks II. Kind of an unusual spot for a quality steak house. Tons of parking so no valet needed like the majority of high end steak places. The ambiance is also not your typical dark steak place with wood paneling and jazz music. It is much brighter and open and the music playing was often Jam Bands like Widespread Panic, Phish, and Grateful Dead. Very unique and a welcome change (even though I am not a 420 Jam Band type). It was a Thursday night so I expected more of a crowd, but it was kind of quiet. We sat at the bar as that is usually our preference for a weeknight date night. Brian our bartender was extremely attentive. He said he had only been there a few days, but you wouldn't know it had he not mentioned it. Upon his recommendation we ordered the Shrimp Nowak appetizer. It was absolutely awesome. It is about 6 healthy sized shrimp in a creole style sauce served with perfectly light on the inside French bread. Total winner!!!! We ordered the 8oz Filet which comes with a side (also unusual for a steak house). We decided on the cream spinach. Oh my!!!! The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare with a perfectly seasoned crust. The spinach was also awesome. We completely devoured our meal. The steak was seriously about as good as I have had in Atlanta. Yes...I'll even put it in the conversation with Chops (my personal #1). Kaiser's down the street used to be my go to local (Sandy Springs) favorite, but if Nowak is consistently this good I will be a convert. Based on how relatively not busy it was, I am a little worried about their sustainability. I guess the word has not gotten out yet, so please give it a shot and if you agree it is nearly as good as I am saying, spread the word.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Only complaint is that the lighting could be turned up a notch or two. Met a friend here, and sat at the bar for some drinks and ended up eating there. Dirty martini was perfect. Brian, the bartender was excellent - great drinks, and very attentive, and good conversation. Appetizer was the steak tartare. Despite not having an egg yolk on top, it was on of the three best tartares I've ever had. Great herbs, and the capers were perfect. Coupled with the soft bread, it is damn near perfect. Got the wedge salad, which was also delicious. Lastly, the beef sandwich au jus sauce was perfect. The jus was excellent, and you could feel the love in it...beef bones simmered for days with spices, veggies, and then drained. One of the best versions of this sandwich I've had. I've lost my love for French fries because so many places serve a horrible fry. Nowak's fries are delicious. Solid all the way around. Very highly recommend.

Yelp
The service could not have been better. Our server was a wealth of information. However we were extremely disappointed in the actual food. Our Cowboy steak was way too fatty. The bolognese dish and the mushrooms were over salted by a measure of 50%. The mashed potatoes were mediocre at best. We passed on the dessert menu. We live within a mile + of Nowak's and were really hoping to make it our "go to" neighborhood restaurant.

Lynda B. M.

Yelp
Delicious food and my new go to for steak! Appetizer: Shrimp and Crab with Remoulade and Cocktail Sauce, Fried Artichoke Hearts Entree: 8 oz. Filet medium rare Sides: Creole Corn, Twice Baked Potato, Creamed Spinach Dessert:.Lemon Icebox Pie

Ellen M.

Yelp
Excellent food in a hidden place. The service was very god but it was very pricey. So so ambience.

Tracy K.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of spending my birthday with "The Girls" at Nowak's in Sandy Springs this week. The atmosphere was exactly what I craved. A little hideaway with incredible drinks and amazing food. We will make that our new "Place" Tracy The French Table

Lynn S.

Yelp
First visit and pleasantly surprised with decor. The special was delicious with crabmeat served with béarnaise sauce over filet cooked to perfection.

Gino F.

Yelp
Never again ! This is a poor imitation of a new Orleans cuisine The food : Oysters ,small , served without crackers, pepper shaker or spicy sauce (we had to ask for it two times). Branzino , tasteless, obviously frozen, Filet mignon , chewy Beef borguignon ,good sauce, wrong kind of meat ,too chewy Service : TERRIBLE ! slow, badly timed, rude waiter and this is the best : in the final bill the waiter charged $ 12 more for each dozen oyster and $ 5 more for each glass of wine for a total of $ 44 over the menu price .Was it just a Mistake ???? NOTE : We had to call the owner/Manager and he corrected and discounted the bill Ambiance: absolutely unbearably noisy. The bar is in the immediate proximity of the dining tables ,several obviously intoxicated patrons screaming and yelling without control. We complained about the excessive noise and the waiter simply answered that that's the way "they " like there. Enough !!!!

Bob L.

Yelp
On our second visit they had a large (25) party in the back room. It took an hour and thirty minutes for our entrees to arrive. Very busy! But, after a long wait our meal was served warm..... not the way it is supposed to be. The excuse, we're really busy!

Maggie F.

Yelp
Came here w/good friends while in Atlanta. Everything was amazing from the ambiance to the service to the food. Definitely recommend Nowak's.

J. P.

Yelp
I have visited many Steak Houses around the World from Turkey to London. It is very rare that I have an immersive experience that incorporates excellent fair and exqusite presentation. Our orders were served prompt with no excessive wait. I had the 8oz Filet Mignon medium rare, Lobster Bisque, Artichoke hearts, and Mashed Potatoes. The Filet was perfectly cooked and the Lobster Bisque was delicious with large chunks of Lobster. The restauant was small and intimate and filled up quickly but we were able to have a pleasant conversation without raised voices. I have over 336 TripAdvisor recommendations and over 120K readers of my reviews. I highly recommend if you are an aficionado of Steak well prepared you should make a reservation.

Yelp
Delicious food and solid service. This is probably the best French onion soup I've ever had and will come here to enjoy it again. The ambience is a little strange since it's in a strip mall and doesn't really exude an upscale experience, but the food and service does the trick. I'll be back! Steaks are reminiscent to "Hal's" as I understand there is a familial connection and it shows!
google avatar

Terri D.

Yelp
The ambiance is classy casual. I had jeans on and felt at home. Could easily be dressed to impress and still be comfortable intl the surroundings. Reservations are suggested but not needed. We started out with the Nowak shrimp. Cajun in a spicy roumolade. It was soon delicious. Sorry, no pictures. I ate it too fast. My mom ordered the 12oz filet mignon, and I had the 16oz ribeye. Mine came out overdone, but the manager immediately took it back and brought out another one PERFECTLY cooked. For dessert, we had the 4 nut brownie sundae and the oreo cheesecake. There were no pictures as we took them to go. The staff is absolutely wonderful as well. If you're in or around Atlanta, you MUST go to Nowak's Steakhouse.

Julia A.

Yelp
Came here based on reviews, what a big mistake that was. No way are these 5 star reviews legit. Vibe? What vibe, the place sandwiched somewhere in a strip mall, resembled more like a cheap cafeteria . Stark white walls and apoxy white floors, with cheap leather chairs. The staff looked like former employees of Golden Coral and the food was even worse. First of way over priced for a Sandy springs strip mall cafeteria. You can literally go to any actual steakhouse with an ambience and amazing food and pay the same. Food was borderline edible. Everything was way over salted , everything. Their remoulade shrimp and crab for $38! Was small shrimp with some fishy crab drenched in sauces . Their creamed spinach was pretty much a bowl of cream sprinkled with spinach pieces in there, fries way over cooked and over salted. The steak was requested medium rare, came out just burned and over cooked on the outside and a raw strip on the inside. How do you mess up a steak at a steakhouse . Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else
google avatar

Heidi O.

Yelp
We didn't stay so no idea on the food. The venue is odd, greeted at the door by a waiter in a dirty tshirt, limited menu in my opinion. The menu did not match the website and we wanted a 12 oz. Filet, we decided to go to Flemming. Won't go back to Nowak's.
google avatar

Randy B.

Yelp
This restaurant was a real find! I had a filet that melted in my mouth and the best French onion soup that I have ever had. On top of that, service was as good as the food.

Daniel A.

Yelp
First and foremost, I love the decor and feel of this tucked away gem. The food was exceptional, and not just the steaks. We had 4 courses, ending with the best desserts I've ever had! Our server was outstanding as well. He was very attentive but not intrusive. This is my new go to spot for an exceptional dining experience in Sandy Springs. A must try!
google avatar

Lilly F.

Yelp
I think these reviews must be fake. This place defies explanation. Food is not good, but the atmosphere is even worse. If it were 1/4 of the price I might see giving it another try. Given the location, total lack of ambiance and service, I don't understand why anyone would dine here more than once. This is absurdly expensive for a place like this, even if the food were better.

Brett L.

Yelp
The filet was incredible! Had the mash and creamed spinach. Both great as well. Will definitely be coming back. The owner Blaze Nowak was there and he and his mother are really nice people. Hope everyone tries this place. The bartender Brian was great as well.

Dillon D.

Yelp
This place is amazing. We came here on a Thursday for their happy hour. The happy hour menu was amazing and actually I think they could actually charge more for a couple of the items. We basically tried everything on the menu and it was such good food. 3$ for the best filet mignon slider I've ever had. I could have eaten 5 of them and it still would only have only been 15$. Such a steal! I peeked at their full menu and I can't wait to come back and try it. Bryan behind the bar was also super welcoming and the entire staff was cleaning the place to open for dinner service. I can see myself coming here 3 times a week for lunch!

Judy D.

Yelp
Amazing steak!!! Salad, sides, and dessert were phenomenal! Ambiance was great. Husband and I we're celebrating our anniversary and highly recommend it! They even decorated our dessert
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
I went when it first opened, so I will definitely give it another go in a month or 2. Went for Happy Hour, sat at the bar, which has plenty of seating. Had oysters, they we just ok, maybe a little bland, but thats the oyster's fault. The drinks were super strong, service was decent. Truffle fries were drool worthy. I found it to be a little pricey...just an all around "meh" experience, but again, it was opening week :/

Angie M.

Yelp
The food was excellent. I had the Nowak's chicken which was soooo tasty (and a huge portion) and I tasted my friends steak which was like butter. I am OBSESSED with the decor of this place!!

James B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with very good drinks!!! French pinion soup is some of the best I've had and our waiter, Calvin, was awesome directing us around the menu!!! Steak was on point and what you would expect out of a 5 star restaurant. Enjoy!!! We certainly did!!!
google avatar

EJ K.

Yelp
The minute I walked in I knew I had found a neighborhood gem! Bar is great! Food is great! Staff is awesome! Best Dirty Martini in town!
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
Some of the best steak I've had in Atlanta and the ambiance is chef's kiss. Whether you're having a meeting or a night out with your partner I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Couldn't wait for Nowak's Sandy Springs location to open. Had been to other location which was great, but I live in SS. Most important to me is good food and service. IMy husband and I were seated quickly. I asked for a wine list and ordered a glass of white wine....my husband got his usual soda. Now I was relaxed. It seemed the menu had something for all tastes, but I wanted a steak. Although they offer most cuts, I ordered my fav, a filet medium rare. I also ordered the shrimp remoulade with cocktail sauce as a starter. I couldn't believe how tasty the two sauces tasted together. My husband wanted something lighter, and loved the Nowaks Chicken and he also ordered the Jenni salad. As picky as he is, he said both were delicious. My steak was amazing! We split a Lemon Icebox pie which was tart and cold and a perfect end to a great meal. Next time I will get oysters on the half shell. The table next to ours had the seafood tower and loved it! Oh yes, our server was knowledgeable . ..something I noted and is important to me.

Adam G.

Yelp
I've been to Nowak's several times since it opened earlier this year. Every time the experience has been fantastic. Amazing hospitality in the dining room and excellent food coming out of the kitchen. The staff is knowledgeable and always will to help make the dining experience one to remember. Plus the food is top notch - delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts! The location has plenty of free parking, which is nice. And the restaurant is decorated extremely well - modern but also upscale and elegant. This restaurant is a welcome addition to Sandy Springs. Good for a casual date night or a family dinner or a special occasion celebration. Highly recommended and I will be back again soon!

Julie S.

Yelp
Food is amazing! Ambiance is so much better since they redecorated! Service is excellent!

Yelp
So excited to have another quality restaurant in Sandy Springs. The food is incredible. I recently had the chicken parmesan which my husband and I agreed was the best we've had. Wonderful family owned restaurant.

Steve L.

Yelp
Our first visit to Nowak's. We've heard a lot about this restaurant and wanted to try it with another couple. Early Saturday evening rez, but it filled up quickly and was packed and (very) noisy by the time our appetizers--wedge and Caesar salads, French onion soup--arrived. Servers were busy but attentive and made good suggestions. Our entrees--shared bone-in ribeye, Nowalk's chicken, steak frites, mushroom side--were overall tasty, although the "frites" were soft despite asking for extra crispy. Lemon icebox pie dessert, shared, was a good finishing selection. Obviously, SS will support this newest restaurant despite its somewhat pricey menu....$21 for a basic Old Fashion cocktail? Crazy. "Best steaks in Atlanta ", according to its website? Hardly, given so much high end competition in this category (including the owners' familial icon Hal's).

Blake J.

Yelp
I may have just found my new favorite Steakhouse in the Atlanta area. Everything from mine and my husbands dinner to my server were nearly perfect. Filet Mignon: 10/10 Crème Brûlée: 10/10

Shawn M.

Yelp
My wife and I dined at the bar earlier tonight. First time to Nowak's. First class all the way. Food was amazing, service was also (Justine behind bar) and the atmosphere was great. Love the BIG bar and the beautiful artwork on the walls. The owner Blaisse was an obvious roll up your sleeves, hands on owner and introduced himself. They will be getting plenty of our $$ in the years to come. :)

David Z.

Yelp
This place is the definition of overpriced. Nice dining room. Service adequate. Didn't want to order the over 50 steaks. What we did eat was decent. Not recommended basically because of prices... there are better places

Daryl M.

Yelp
We've dined here a few times in the past & loved it but unfortunately our most recent visit will be our last. It was very disappointing! Our 8oz filets were way too salty. To the extreme that we weren't able to enjoy the au poivre that we both ordered as an addition to our steaks. It only enhanced the saltiness. We were told that we should've told them upon ordering. I didn't know that was something you need to mention when ordering a steak!?! My steak was way too charred, I was told that I should've mentioned that upon ordering my steak cooked medium!?! The final decision straw was when they said, yeah there's nothing we can do about it. I don't expect anything for free, however I expect good quality and exceptional service when dining at a restaurant of that caliber. Our server was great, until he declined to rectify the situation. The only thing they offered to do was to take it back and char it more, that wasn't the point or what we were asking which was frustrating. The server mentioned that he'd have the owner/chef come to our table to talk to us, he then returned saying that he cant't and that he's already left. Funny enough, we see him as we're walking out. So he opted to have the server lie to us than address us - that was very rude & insulting. Also, they're definitely on the pricier side in comparison to other local restaurants in the area. There are plenty of other great options in the area for a great steak to support. This only makes me wonder as to why they only had 2 other tables on a Friday evening. It was very disappointing, the anticipation of an enjoyable evening, and we left feeling so dissatisfied.

Beth N.

Yelp
Very exciting to have this fantastic restaurant in Sandy Springs!! Food is Superb, staff on point, and welcoming vibe. Bar is large and perfect for eating solo, as a couple or with a group! Check it out- Nowak's does not disappoint!!

Cathy H.

Yelp
The ambiance is non-existent. My friend ordered the Filet Au Poive medium rare, it arrived rare. The gravy and seasoning on the steak was so full of pepper his mouth burned and he only ate a few bites. I ordered the 8oz filet Mignon medium well. It was cooked to the right temperature but was so salty I couldn't eat it. We ordered a side of mashed potatoes that were so full of parsley and chives that it was overwhelming. We took our leftovers and made our dogs happy. I would not recommend this restaurant. Too many other wonderful dining establishments in Sandy Springs to bother giving this one a second try.

David P.

Yelp
The food was delicious and steak was the best A chicken parm was also the best would definitely recommend for a family dinner

Paul N.

Yelp
Horrendous experience. Poor service, noisy and food was very disappointing! Would never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!
