Nowhere Bar

Best historic dive bar and music venue in Athens! Tim the bartender is awesome and the whole staff is great. They treat the bands there better than any other place I've ever been! It is now my go to any time I go back home to Athens!

Some of the younger bartenders are a little confused on game days and fans coming into town to have fun. It’s like walking into a saloon in the desert in a western film. Everyone stares and tries to eavesdrop on your conversations. Oddly hostile crowd and younger bartenders who don’t understand gamedays. Stop bothering customers and staring at strangers. Grow up. Side note - Athens tradition and older bartenders are cool.

A true dive, Nowhere Bar is great for late night drinks and live music in downtown Athens. We stopped in with a large group for a nightcap. Music was good and the drinks were cold. A nice spot to end the evening.

They have great live music and great drinks. Pool tables are a lot of fun. We love this place

Classic Athens. Love the regulars and watching the college kids come in for the first time. Staff is also classic Athens ;)

This is a cool spot to have drinks and play pool. They have 6 tables and the entire second half is basically a pool hall. Their happy hour goes from 3:30-9 pm so go nuts. Great time when we were there.

Total bar nothing fancy but that's what's so great about nowhere. Great bands, music, pool tables and cheap ass drinks.

Stopped in for just one beer and had to pay a cover charge that was negotiable upon entering. Just wasn't my kind of place, broke ass chairs need fixing at the bar. Skip this place all together if you ask me.

Has a rep for being a legit old school local dive. Does host good bands but is really a tourist trap across from ga theater with $6 for LOCAL beer.

One of the best bars in Athens. Great music and atmosphere. Anyone that gives it a bad rating is too uptight. What do you expect out of a dive bar. lol

Im born and raised in Athens Ga and i frequent downtown Athens often. I normally go to nowhere bar because most of the time it can be low-key. So i went there last night around 11pm on 04/10/22 to play some pool and have a beer. I asked the door man if they had a cover charge and how much it was. He responded that the cover was $30 and i told him thats insane. Little did he know that my brother was already in the bar and i called my brother to ask how much he paid to get in and said that he only paid $10 for the cover which is what the cover usually is when the bar has a live band. Naturally at this point i confronted the door man and he got all scared and didn't know what to say because he knew he fucked up. He tried to give my brother his money back in order resolve the issue after we decided to go somewhere else, but it didn't work. That door man is just lucky I'm not the person i used to be. What business lets there employees try to rob people who just wanna have fun...?

I went here around 11:30. The bartender was extremely rude. I had bottle one bottle of beer. She popped off the cap and I paid for it. Next time I go to get a beer she was ignoring me. A guy came up clearly after me and she helped him. The place was dead so it wasn't like she didn't see me. I said, "I believe I was here first.". She said, "yes but you don't tip.". She didn't figure maybe I do it at the end of the night, not after every beer. But this was her job to serve me. What a horrible attitude. I'm 54 and shouldn't be treated disrespectfully by some dumb as a rock bartender. Ummm, no tip for you, honey. If I had ordered a mixed drink or a large number of drinks, different story, but after paying a cover charge it is not mandatory to tip for each beer. Fire this girl!

I went there for a couple of beers this past Saturday evening before supper. It's a nice, little dive bar, although it seemed slighly pricey. The bartender (her name Jenny, I believe) was cool.

Nice selection of craft beers but nothing on tap, domestic or otherwise. Just another hole-in-wall. Roshambeaux was playing so I stayed. Otherwise we would have followed our friends elsewhere

A small grungy bar/pool hall right across the street from the Ga Theater. Right as you walk in, you're overpowered by the stale smell of the place. Although for some reason, seems that every time I'm in Athens, I make a stop at Nowhere. Thing I love most is that the Athens true locals hang here, spending their weekly dime. Always many interesting characters.

This is an Athens institution and should not be missed if you are a fan of all things Athens.

Lots of pool tables, plenty of room, busy as hell bar but bartenders are quick to get your drinks. Good music - good place.
