Nu Ice and Drinks

After having dinner at Happy Lamb and their disappointing dessert, we ended up here to satisfy our sweet craving. I got the hill size Nutella with mango boba and lychee jelly and it was delicious. Size was huge which is my only complaint. Even though it says it’s for one person, its almost impossible for 1 person to finish so much of it. I wish they would have smaller and more practical size options. Service was very good. The place is in a very busy complex and finding parking can be sometimes very challenging specially rush hours or weekends. I liked the fact that they have a dedicated to-go parking spot.

We ordered the coconut shaved ice and the mango smoothie. It was SO GOOD! You could actually taste the coconut and the mango. They use real fruit! Cashier was really sweet and helpful too. Very cute date spot :)

The shaved ice at NU was refreshing and light—exactly what you want on a hot Houston day. The texture was soft and smooth. The fruit was exceptionally fresh. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit.

The snow shaving ice looked very pretty. The green tea ice combo, mountain size, was ordered. The combo came with the boba and pudding at side. It tasted great with the green tea flavor. It’s nice sweet treat after dinner. The cashier (probably the owner) was friendly and polite. You will need to order and pay at the cash counter and pick up the order by yourself as well.

Without a doubt, this place has some of the most refreshing and delicious frozen treats I’ve tasted in a long time! The shaved ice is prepared to order, and it’s literally layered with delicious, thin blankets of soft, fruity ice. And you get a lot! This stuff is so good, and the lady working the register is very friendly to everyone. After tax, it’s about $7-10 depending on what size you get. Super unique concept! I wouldn’t change a thing

I have gotten a berry smoothie and it's pretty good overall. Not too sweet and at a very reasonable price.

I LOVE this place!! The shaved ice is amazing as well as the drinks. We spent $45 on 3 drinks & 3 servings of shaved ice. We added extra toppings to our drinks & to our shaved ice, which increased the price. This place is affordable for its quality. The boba tea is amazing. I personally ordered chocolate shaved ice with marshmallows, mochi, & condensed milk. My drink was taro milk tea with boba. 10/10. The service is amazing & friendly. Inside is nice. Great job here ☺️☺️☺️

Loved this place, can't wait to come back and try more. It's located in a strip mall, with a good amount of parking. There are a lot of spots reserved for various businesses, but plenty of parking in the center. I was looking to get my Thai tea with boba fix, and they didn't disappoint, the boba was so silky and smooth, I was pretty amazed. Service was not the friendliest but that's likely because there was only one person behind the counter, so can't blame the guy. There were two large groups of folks there, and it's not super large inside, but it's a cute chill place.

Visited for some dessert after having dinner nearby. If you check-in on Yelp, you'll get a complimentary topping!! I feel like not many places have these deals, so it was a nice surprise! The place is pretty small, but it was empty and easy to find a spot to sit. Ordered a green tea ice with mochi on the side and the condensed milk on the side. The mochi was super chewy and good, and the green tea flavor was great! The booth and tables were clean. Parking is also easy and free

I remember when Nu Ice came onto the scene in Houston as the state's first shaved ice establishment. Everyone had to go get their pics and try it out. Since then, they opened up this second location and there are plenty of copycats around. This location is located in a shopping strip with other businesses so parking ease depends on the time of day you come . I've been here a few times, usually after lunch nearby and have never really got any big crowds or waits. Customer service is good, no complaints. Everyone always seems to be in good mood at ice cream shops. They sell a variety of tasty treats here. They got coffee, milk teas, boba, teas, slush, fruit juice, and smoothies. What they're known for though is their Nu Ice which is shaved ice. You can order one of their creations or you can create your own. Just pick up a clipboard and customize it the way you want. First you pick a size. Now a single serving is pretty generous and the prices here are super wallet friendly considering what you're getting. Hill size for one gets you one topping, Mountain size serves 2 and gets you two toppings. They have a pretty good variety of flavors most of which are cool flavors you may not see elsewhere. My first time here we shared a strawberry with strawberry, mango and lychee jelly. I then topped it with condensed milk. I didn't know what to expect since they claim they are not ice cream, snow cone nor yogurt. What I got was a delicious and unique dessert in a world of its own. It had a snow cone feel but ate like an ice cream. I don't know how to explain it. The fresh toppings were a nice addition. On a separate visit I tried a vanilla with almonds, strawberry and mango poppers. Another tasty creation. Their boba game is strong too. I really enjoyed my milk tea with tapioca. Overall, this is a tasty treat that's a nice change from the usual desserts you might get. I'll be back.

Love the convenience of this location, it is a bit small but doesn't seem to be crowded. The shave ice is served on a plate if you get it for here and in a cup if you get it to go. I would t get it in a cup as i noticed it gets pretty squished down. Service was quick and wonderful!! The shave ice is flavorful and fresh.

We've only ever had the shaved ice, but we love it every time. We always go back because the ice is unbelievably smooth, there's never any worries about ice chunks and the texturetexture is just unbeatable. The toppings are solid and the employees are friendly.

It was so busy at 9:10 pm. The parking lot is big enough so that was good. Inside, every table was full so we waited to togos got their items and left to sit at a table. We watch three people get play their claw game, only one was successful at getting something after three tries (the bigger machine that is $2 per play). I got a large drink and man, it was large!!! And only $5.50!!!! Wow. The drink was ok but not the best drink ever. I was come back here.

Ordered the the Mountain - coffee, almond, condensed milk and chocolate topping. The Associate was extremely pleasant and well paced. She presented a smile and sparky disposition. The ambiance is laid back and chill. The kids enjoyed the claw machines as much as the treats.

The shaved ice was pretty yummy being creamier than I expected. The milk tea was the bomb. We got the brown sugar milk tea. I would definitely come back for the milk tea. The staff were very polite as well. The lady at the counter explained that they were out of some items so she told me what they did have available after I asked. The store is on the smaller side but it looks cool on the inside. They also have a few booths/tables if you're trying to stay for a little. I really wanted to try the vanilla ice so I'll definitely come back again!

Pretty good desserts and drinks place! We tried their shaved ice and a coffee boba drink. Both were delicious and refreshing. They were busy, but our order came out pretty quickly. Service was fast and friendly!

Good for the price you are paying for boba. Haven't seen a place this affordable in a while. Had the jasmine milk tea with lychee jelly and it tasted pretty good, but not the best I've had compared to Cali. But once again this is great value for the price you are paying.

Great boba teas with a variety of flavors and toppings. Plus they have a check-in offer! They also serve flavored shaved ice that alot of people come in for. Always great service. They have some booths for seating and board games to play.

This place is so good! You get a lot for the cost and the orders come out quickly. We tried 3 different flavors and they were all tasty.

It was on the smaller side. Only around 15 people's worth of seating. It was more cozy and older. Service was fast. Boba was okay but for the price it was more affordable. You could get shaved ice also! They have some desserts.

My aunt and cousins came from out of town and really wanted shaved ice. We were debating whether it was worth it to go all the way in bellaire when I found this place! First impressions: The area gets super packed depending on the time and day you're going. It's right next to oh my Gogi (one of my fave food places) and spotlight karaoke that gets packed on the weekends and nights. We came during the day and there were only 30min parking spaces available for us. Service: Servers were very friendly and our drinks/shaved ice came out pretty fast. Food/Drinks: I got the Vietnamese iced coffee. It was okay, not my favorite, but it wasn't bad. I think the real saving grace here is the shaved ice. You're able to customize it to your liking and it tastes pretty good. We went for two chocolate type ones and were pretty satisfied (these are smalls btw). Definitely would come back, especially since I live super close!

I was looking for dessert place to end my day after running a bunch if errands and this was the perfect way to end it. The locations is in one of the more crowded plazas, but I went on a weekday so it wasn't so bad. The service was quick and friendly. The portions were just right and it satisfied my sweet tooth. I walked in and filled out the slip of paper with the type of shaved ice I wanted and toppings and like I said the service was really quick and friendly. It is a bit retro looking and the seats do look worn and the place really look like they've been here a while. However, that said, it was moderately clean overall. Just about as soon I finished filling out the form and sat down, it was maybe less than five minutes that I got my order. I got a hill sized portion of shaved ice and yeah! The shaved ice was really stacked! The ice was very soft like snow and not icy at all and the toppings were perfect. It somehow ended not being too sweet which I was honestly surprised by, and the mochi was just the right amount of softness/chew. I had fun eating the dish and it was really yummy. If you're looking for nice cold treat, quick service, and are around the area, I would recommend you give it a try!

The only place in Houston that has more variety of Shaved Ice with more flavorful taste and lots of toppings to chose from. The best part is that we can customize the ingredients and the real fruit that hey turn into Ice cream like? are super soft and delicious! Can't find the similar place like this in Houston (yet). I've been coming here for minute and it's been around for many years. So yes the tables and the floors are a little sticky but damn this shaved ice is solid and creamy and it makes me so happy. The flavored ones are the best. We got the vanilla one while we were there and all the toppings were top notch.

I stopped by on a weeknight. There was plenty of parking in the lot. It wasn't too crowded and service was friendly. I ordered the mango smoothie and added protein powder. The portion size was generous, but otherwise I wasn't a fan. The protein powder had a strong flavor. I would recommend either using less protein powder or using a different brand.

I have been going here since 2015 and have never been disappointed! If you're looking for delicious boba tea options and one of the few places in Texas serving Artisan Shaved Ice, this is the spot for you! People might hear "shaved ice" and think of the usual, but this is definitely not your typical offering. I highly recommend stopping by to try a refreshing treat. The "HILL" size is perfect for two to share, making it a great option for a date or a fun outing with a friend. My personal favorite is the Taro with mochi and coffee toppings - an amazing combination of flavors and textures!

It was really good! We had the mango ice with a side of fresh mango and boba. It's smooth and creamy and just filled with mango flavor. We shared the smaller one but should have gotten the bigger one because it was so good! The staff was very friendly and kind. Service was fast. It was hard to find a clean table but it was maybe 45 min before closing so I get it. I will definitely be back.

I love this place. They have a few seats where I have seen ppl just chatting or studying with their laptops. A good spot to read a book as well. Teas, smoothies, ice cream. Oh my!

So delicious i think about her every other day. We got the mountain and it was like $8! very affordable. I loved that they had egg pudding as a topping and the milk flavor was so creamy. The seats and stuff were sticky and dirty honestly but i mean i won't blame the guy working there for that. It is an ice cream shop anyways. I'll def be going back again!

We love getting some boba from Nu but aren't able to very often as they don't have any locations on our side of town. On our most recent visit, we found out that you can ask them not to add extra sugar (making the drink sugar free) which we love as we are trying to watch our sugar intake. My fiancé and I are both creatures of habit and always order the mango slush with mango jelly and it still tastes amazing, even without the sugar. The service is usually pretty quick unless you happen to be there during a rush, so that's also nice.

Simple decor, ample seating area for big and small groups, and friendly staff. I love the green tea shaved ice. So glad to have found a place that sells flavored shaved ice. I could taste the green tea in the shaved ice. It was so delicious. Chocolate and mochi pair well with green tea, thus my topping choices. The Hill size is perfect for one. I also had the Super Mango smoothie with rainbow jelly. So so good. The smoothie is blended with real fruits! This is a perfect dessert place. I would come back for more.

This place has GREAT bing su the flavor was amazing. We had fresh strawberries on tops and it really was very fresh. The service was good and the overall the inside is okay. I bit a small and the seating needs to be updated but outside of that this place is great!

It must have been the owner working because he was very friendly. We order just the plain vanilla shave ice so we can see how the base shaved ice taste and it was sweet. More sweet than some places but we liked it. We added bananas to compliment the sweetness. We will be back to try other flavors.

Bussin scale from 1-10 is a 10. We got a number one ice combo and its made perfectly, with the ice melting on your tongue. The mountain size is the perfect amount for three people and it's actually very large - the number one ice combo and an additional topping (95cents) came around to $12. However, the tables were very dirty when we sat down but also understandable since it was late at night and only one person working.

Love the shaved ice here. Super silky and smooth. Sooo many toppings to choose from too. Parking usually isn't a problem, but they share the lot with a bunch of businesses. The inside is a little on the worn down side. The booths are torn and always a little sticky. They have fun community nights as well, walked in on a super smash bros one

Delicious desserts, but constantly sticky. I have tried many variations of their shaved ice and am always happy with it. I loved that they had such an extensive flavor choice for the shaved ice.

The shaved ice has a nice consistency and perfect amount of sweetness when paired with toppings. There's different flavors of ice such as strawberry, chocolate, mango, green tea, and more. You can get creative when it comes to the toppings and drizzled also. Definitely recommend getting the shaved ice here. I'm not really a fan of the drinks here. There's definitely better places when it comes to drinks. There's plenty of parking in the plaza. The inside has plenty of seating and also appreciate that it closes late.

I was pleasantly surprised when my family and I got dessert here! I come from CA, where I've had my fair share of bingsoo. Nu had one of the best shaved ice dishes I've had!! The dessert was so soft and had enough vanilla flavoring! I'm used to having watered down bingsoo, so I was more than happy with what we got! To order bingsoo, you complete a form that asks for the flavor, sauce, and topping(s). My family got the Mountain size, which is shareable, as seen in my pictures. They also offer a Hill size, which is the individual plating style. My Green Thai Tea, however, wasn't outstanding, but it was still enough to satisfy the boba craving. I got mine with flan since egg pudding wasn't an option. Service was relatively fast since I came with such a big group. This place is open late, which is perfect for late-night cravings. I recommend this place for those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth!

A yummy snack during any time of the year. I got the coconut shaved ice and it was so good, the flavor came through and the texture was soft and melted perfectly. I love tapioca so I couldn't help myself when I saw it as a topping option. It was nice and chewy, I was basically consuming a coconut boba drink in a new form. The price was affordable and it's shareable with friends or someone special. The vibes are cute, there's many spots to sit at. The service was good, I felt that the cashier was attentive and overall was satisfied trying this place.

The boba tea prices make a bit more sense - the starting price is $3, although that slowly creeps up once you want it to actually look like boba tea. They offer three sizes, whereas most offer only one. It's often crowded, with ample seating room and simple seating outside, too. There's several themes going on with the decor, but again, you're here for the boba tea, right? Points off for the . It'd pretty gross, and honestly, even a simple wipe-down will go a long way. Quick service and I love that they open late. I've been here before and their ice cream is really good. Today, we ordered the viet bomb latte and King Kong milk tea. They were really good! I loved the viet bomb the most.

We had the ice cream and a matcha drink here and it just wasn't as good as other places. The ambiance was good and I like the booth options-but other than that I think there's better out there. It's a shame because this is right by my house but oh well. Service was exactly as expected for these places so can't judge good or bad on that.

My first time trying shaved ice like this and it was good! I got the combo 1, which is vanilla shaved ice, Oreo pieces, strawberries, and Nutella drizzle. I substituted coconut shaved ice for the vanilla. The texture and taste is unique. It's super light and flaky but when it melts in your mouth it has a kind of creamy consistency like ice cream but not as thick (for lack of better word). The coconut flavor was light and paired nicely with the other toppings. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. I got it in a to-go cup but ended up eating there. It was pricey at almost 9 dollars so I'm not sure I'd return but it was a unique and tasty treat to try!

Great place to get an Ice cream! The ice creams here are huge and delicious! Let me tell you its always crowded here and that tells you a lot about a place. The service is quick and its worth the long lines! For a big Ice cream you can share them and you can put whatever topping you want! The place is really nice.

This is a cool little spot for a unique dessert. They have shaved ice with multiple toppings that you can choose to put on top. It seems like a lighter and somewhat healthier option than something like Ice cream. If you haven't tried shaved ice before I would try this spot out.

Went here with a few friends. When we walked in it wasn't packed but after we ordered it started to get crowded. The decor was nice but the booth seats were really dirty. I ordered the Mangonada and it was really good. There were chopped up mangos in the smoothie that I really liked.

Pros: service was quick and friendly. Prices were fair. Something fun and different than a standard cup up ice cream. Cons: flavors fell a bit flat. I ordered w/ three different flavors and none of them really wowed me. The shop floors and several tables were quite sticky. A unique dessert that, unfortunately, just didn't hit the mark for me. But worth a try to decide for yourself!

Here for work in Houston this week and this is our 2nd time visiting Nu Ice. My 16yo and I were craving for Korean bingsu and this is the closest thing we could find. Great location, mixed in with a variety of restaurants, a yogurt shop and a cafe. Both times the "artisanal shave ice" were perfect, tremendous serving of toppings, and the hill size was just right for two to share. Service was great. The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because the decor and furniture could use an update. Go check them out!

This shaved ice and boba shop serves some of the fluffiest & yummiest shaved ice I've ever had. It was the perfect way to end a long day! I filled out a create-your-own shaved ice form, and chose to get a mountain-sized taro shaved ice with honey boba, sweet red bean, mochi, and condensed milk. The forms for create-your-own are by the left corner of the ordering counter. (Checking in on Yelp also means one free topping!) The ice was shaved-to-order and took about 5-7 minutes to make. The mountain size serving was HUGE! Taro flavor was abundant in the shaved ice itself. As I mentioned earlier, the texture was amazingly fluffy, soft, and snow-like. The ice barely melted at all while it was being consumed, which allowed it to maintain its snow-like texture the entire time. I liked both the honey boba and sweet red bean toppings. The honey boba was perfectly chewy, and the red beans weren't overly sweet and were cooked well. The mochi was a little bit of a letdown because it tasted floury and was denser than expected. I never have the highest expectations for shaved ice because many times there are hidden ice chunks or the shaved ice melts too quickly. However, this place had neither problem. I definitely recommend coming here for a great shaved ice experience!
