Man, this was a GREAT place to come check out. Some friends and I came by here for a Houston Restaurant Weeks lunch, and to say we were impressed would be an understatement.
The place is in an awkward part of midtown, near areas known for being rough, but still manages to maintain a nice, quiet interior that's well decorated. When we arrived, we were one of only two tables seated, which meant service was very attentive.
The meal we had was four courses (including a tea) for $25, which was an outstanding deal. For the first round, most of us went with the tulip dumplings, which came out hot, freshly steamed, and with the perfect amount of sauce. For the second round, several of us went with different soup options.
My Tom Kha soup was spectacular, but my wife wasn't enjoying her Tom Yum soup, so we ended up swapping. My soup was definitely the better of the two.
Of the main courses, the basil fried rice was probably the biggest hit. My wife wouldn't stop raving about just how delicious it was. The entire dish was fragrant, like it had been bathed in flower essence before coming out, and tasted absolutely delicious.
Of course, the teas were excellent too. I went with a traditional Thai Tea while my wife went with the Thai Green Tea. Apparently the Thai Green Tea was so good that the two people who ordered it got refills at additional expense, so it must have been very good.
We'll definitely be coming back here again!
