The Best Vegan Noodle Soups in Portland | Eater Portland

"At this whimsical and forest-like pan-Asian restaurant in Woodstock, the go-to order is the fragrant Malaysian-style laksa featuring a rich and soothing curry coconut broth and rice noodles topped with a mountain of vegetables and tofu chunks. Those who prefer a lighter broth can opt for the vegetable-heavy green noodle soup. Nudi’s noodle bowls make a hearty entree, but hungrier diners can also enjoy vegan samosas and roasted cauliflower with toasted coconut." - Waz Wu

I've been passing by this restaurant for years, always quite intrigued due to its name and interesting exterior. Yet it wasn't until today my partner and I decided to give it a try. They have a fairly creative fusion menu, though it leans more toward Southeast Asian food, and I was immediately captivated by the idea of a fettuccine pasta created with coconut milk. I thought it was a good dish and turned out to be exciting and unique. My partner got the chicken pad thai and thought it was also good. The restaurant was a bit dingy the day we came in, but overall still looked intriguing on the inside, and service was friendly as well. It's definitely a place to try out if you're around the Woodstock area quite a bit.

Wow! Where to begin?! Had several appetizers and several main dishes with the family. LOVED the boat noodle. Killer broth and I ate everything down to the last drop. Service was friendly and the vibe is chill. Great outdoor seating options. We will be back!!

Google
So many gluten free options!! The staff are very friendly and very attentive! The menu options are excellent! There were so many gluten free options to chose from, and dairy free too. Every dish was full of unique flavors. Large portions. The egg rolls were amazing! We ordered the spicy chicken wings in medium, they were just enough heat! I ordered the customer favorite and was not disappointed! My very picky eater brother in law ordered the Pad Thai and said “it was above average” that’s a lot coming from him:) all 7 of us enjoyed our meals and would highly recommend this restaurant. IT HAS ITS OWN PARKING LOT! The building is decorated very artistically inside. They also have outdoor seating.

Google
The atmosphere is wonderful very joyful. The Seafood was very salty. The chocolate covered ribs were so good They just fell off the bone. The coconut chicken fettuccine was good. I just wish that they would cut the chicken pieces better. Because they don't offer you any knives. The devil chicken's wings were really phenomenal. The padthi was great. The violet was sweet tasted like honey with a very light flavoring. The waitress was rude though to my friend when she asked if the seafood dish was usually that salty. The answer is yes she says it's always very salty.

Google
I love this place! Food is amazing and service is next level friendly/personable. The interior is lovely and cozy, and it’s overall a special place in the heart of Woodstock.

Google
Food: on the sweeter side. If you don’t like the savory & sweet combo, you might not like the laska and udon dry noodles. Devil wings were ok, but an order only comes with 3 wings. Service: the server was not very inviting…almost feel a little awkward when interacting with him. Not to mention, he added a large party fee on our bill for a party of 2! When I asked for my check, he brought out his machine, and it only showed a total of $56.40 and an additional line for tip. He didn’t mention tip was already included in the bill, so I was going to tip on top of the 20%! The only reason I found out was because I realized there were decimals in my total so I asked him if tip was already included. His excuse was he accidentally hit the wrong button for tip, and I could adjust it if I want. I didn’t want to be petty so I proceeded with paying the bill as is. After I paid, he didn’t even ask if I would like a copy of the receipt and just walked off. So I went up to the register, and asked for a copy. After reviewing my receipt, I realized he didn’t “accidentally” hit the wrong button for tip…He just added a “large party” fee! If you decide to eat here, remember to ask for a copy of the bill before you pay!

Google
Food was delicious and the presentation of every dish was so unique. You wont be disappointed with anything on the menu. The decor of the restaurant is like entering a garden and quite dim. Inside the walls are lined with artificial grass and boxes with small holes for lights, looks like the stars in the sky. There is also an indoor/outdoor seating area that feels like a greenhouse.

Google
Been here a few times with family and have always been pretty satisfied with a usual miso ramen, which is delicious, but this time we decided to try some new dishes, and have no regrets! The chicken noodle soup was my favorite, hearty, with big portions and great flavor. The service is pretty good, food came out in less than 15 minutes, and servers/ waiters are super thoughtful. Outdoor seating is right on Woodstock Blvd., so its a bit loud and busy, but inside seating has a very unique atmosphere. Overall I'll definitely be back, but one last note is that the ginger ale is not recommended.

Yelp
Came here on a whim and ordered the golden trout. Didn't know what I was expecting but dish came out beautiful and tasted so fresh. Their drinks were delightful, and owner was super sweet and welcoming. Lovely food, presentation, and service. Will definitely come back and make it a staple neighborhood spot!

Yelp
Yum! This was such a sweet and cozy spot for our dinner date! The decor was eclectic and charming, the food was delicious and fun! Here's what we had: Galbi Jjim - Korean Braised Short Ribs Chocolate Ribs - Fall off the bone and sizzling! Gin Sonic & Kiwi Margarita Lak Sa - YUMMY Noodle Dish Strawberry Japanese Cheesecake - Delish! Service, food, atmosphere, everything was amazing!

Yelp
Food: 5+++ it was amazing. I had the cauliflower curry rice waffle and the kimchee udon. I think the former was either broccoli or romanesco, but either way it was DELICIOUS. The kimchee udon was exactly what I would have imagined from the menu, sweet and sour and spicy. Service: 4-ish? It was on the later end of their hours, and I'm not sure the bar was fully staffed, so drinks were a little odd. The drink special was tasty but I'm not sure there was much alcohol in it. And they couldn't make a martini.... our server was very kind about it, but it was so awkward. I would definitely go back and would recommend it. Just don't order drinks that aren't on the menu :)

Yelp
4.5 stars. I'm not sure how I haven't been here in so long. I went here all the time when I lived in Woodstock. It was the one place open on holidays, and many times I didn't want to cook. I went back for the first time recently, and remembered how good it is. The salad wasn't super practical to eat, but it was yummy. The jap chae is really good. The crab rangoons are a must. I honestly recommend anything. The passionfruit iced tea is also amazing. You won't see it on the normal menu, so ask for it!

Yelp
The food and service here were fantastic. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Was hardly anyone in there. We got a few non alcoholic "healthy" drinks and they were all so good. The frog legs and duck ramen were also amazing. Highly recommend

Yelp
We have eaten here many times. We have not been in a while. We forgot this place is always hot in the summer. It was uncomfortably warm in there on a 89 degree weather day. They do not have air condition or even fans. So if your trying to escape the heat this is not the place. The service was a 3. They were slow on service. It was moderatley busy with around 5 or 6 tables. They were nice and pleasant. Brought us fruity water which was nice. They were forgetting lots of things including what we ordered and brought out a meat dish for a vegatarian that cleary said tofu. If I was serving us I woud have taken that off the bill. They did not. The food had great flavors! 4 on the food. I did not care for the tiny rice noodles they used for their pad thai. They were much thiner than what I am used too and did not care for the texture.

Yelp
I think they were having an off day. I've heard so many good things from friends. There were some missing items like the oysters and the beer, but after we ate our noodles, we were ready to go. Onto the food we got. The ramen was good. My husband really enjoyed it. I got the laksa without shrimp. I think they were extra generous with the pork because of this. I found that the broths were so sweet, I couldn't finish mine as I normally do with broth. I also felt a sugar high after eating, which caused me to have a sugar crash shortly after. The eggs weren't soft in the middle, like I'd seen in others' photos. Overall, I was disappointed. Hope to try them again in the future, since so many people really like them. There was a table of two older guys and they were pretty patronizing to the server. That's just not ok folks.

Holly Y.

Yelp
What the hell was I just served... The tofu tasted as if it was left open in the fridge. All you could taste was refrigerator. Came with four pieces of broccoli, asked for a side of veggies and got a horror dish in a dog bowl, I didn't touch it. Also do not order the coconut water. No idea where they poured it out of but it also tasted like fridge. Not fresh and not worth $27. On my way to thai vintage now.

Jasmine Z.

Yelp
The servers were very kind! However, I ordered the spicy brisket ramen, and it was so unbelievably sweet that I just could not eat it. I am a ramen lover, have tried most places in Portland, however for the price and quality of this dish it was like I threw money in a trash can. I don't like to speak about food that way, but the noodles were clumped together and tasted like flour. The soup tasted like sugar. I don't want to think about it anymore lol.

Yelp
Bomb. Bomb. Bomb! The food, the portion sizes, the service. Everything was fantastic! I think you get a little bit sweaty when you see the $$ on the menu but to understand the prices, you have to see the portions. These dishes were served on big Pyrex baking dishes. This is enough food to feed a table of 4. The highlight of the night was definitely the noods. Both the pad Thai and the pad see iew just had the most delicious flavors. Of course they are classic dishes but they were just so dang tasty! The devil wings were good but it's hard to eat in the bag. I understand the concept but it failed in my opinion. Word to the wise with the wings.. shake the living out of that bag. All of the seasoning is on the bottom of the bag so your first few bites might be confusing until you really shake and bake. Great experience but unsure if I would come back again unless I was in a big group that could share.

Yelp
A cute and cozy place to have dinner. The enchanted forest decor makes the ambiance feel cozy. Our service was attentive and quick. I ordered chrysanthemum tea which is hard to find at restaurants. It was so good and nostalgic! I'd rather the hot tea over their cocktails which fell flat in flavor. We also ordered the pad kee mao, lak sa, and calamari. Calamari was a bit bland and not as crispy as I'd hope for. The pad kee mao and lak sa was delicious! The noodles were perfectly cooked. Soup was packed with flavor. I'd say this place is perfect for a date night!

Yelp
I would be gatekeeping if I didn't tell you guys this is the best Thai spot in Portland! The service here is super amazing. The level of hospitality is superb! We had their special it's a crab stir noodle, which was amazing, pretty hard to eat, because you had to crack it yourself, but it is so delicious and flavorful! The salad let's talk about the salad! It had this amazing mango dressing with fried fish on top with quinoa. It was so amazing. I never had anything like that before. The short rib was super tender and I love that they paired it with some pickle radish to give it that even flavor. if you're in Portland and you are in the mood for Thai food, This is a Place you must visit!

Yelp
A fantastic restaurant out here on Woodstock. I've always driven by Nudi, but haven't had the chance to stop by and dine in. We had a larger party, so we were sat outside in a nice patio area. Throughout our experience, we had great service as our water was always being filled. I enjoyed that Nudi offered a lot of unique and experimental fusion menu items, such as the chocolate ribs and coconut chicken fettuccine. I found almost every dish to be flavorful and wish I could try even more of the menu. I definitely would recommend the Pad See Iew and the Coconut Chicken Fettuccine. I will say I was a bit disappointed by the Kimchee Udon and the Pink Kimono cocktail. I feel like these items didn't stand out as much as the others. We didn't get dessert here because they were out (they were serving Ube Cheesecake), I would love to give it a try next time.

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical of this place at first as I tend to be toward all fusion places (many place "fusion" on their restaurant as an excuse for inauthentic or outright bad food), but it was so worth it. Parking here is easy and walking in, the shop is quite small, with dim lighting making for a romantic atmosphere. Their menu is quite broad with so many unique items that caught my eye. My friends and I got the devil wings which were great before ordering our entrees. I ordered the coconut curry chicken, but they mixed up my order and gave me a laksa. Fortunately, the staff was so kind (all throughout our dining experience) and gave me my proper order without adding anything to the bill. With that said, being able to try both dishes made me like the place so much more. Both were so so different but delicious. The coconut chicken fettuccine was such an interesting and well-done fusion dish, while the laksa was a classic. I've been here a couple times since and it's definitely may favorite place on Woodstock. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Somy K.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place! There are a few dishes on the menu that would be hard to find anywhere else. Their laksa had phenomenal flavor; it was fragrant and had a kick to it. The noodles were cooked just right. The calamari was a bit chewy, but the accompanying sauce was delicious. Their chrysanthemum tea was also delightful, I would definitely order this on a chilly night! Our server was quick and polite. The place is dark and cozy in the evenings. I would come back to try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
Ambiance was warm and welcoming, staff are friendly and service was quick. We enjoyed all of our food as it provided a different edge to traditional Asian foods. The play on flavors makes this place unique. Would highly recommend their coconut chicken curry and oyster shooters. The chocolate ribs were fun to try for the experience although a little dry. Chocolate sauce was interesting, I expected it to be richer in chocolate but it still flowed well with the ribs. The boat noodles was a little sweet but savory. Overall great experience.

Crystal M.

Yelp
Hands down the best restaurant in Portland. The server I've seen each time I've been here is so kind to our toddler and us. The food has never disappointed, the flavors are so well blended and the portions are large! So many gluten free options too. I honestly don't know why this place isn't packed every night.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably my favorite restaurant in Portland. The Lak Sa is mind blowing. The vibe is moody. I love it here.

Yelp
I just was passing by and decided to stop in since I keep seeing this place on my way home and I was so hungry. I couldn't decide from all the beautiful menu options (I have to try those chocolate ribs. Makes me think of molé, but all in all curious about things that typically wouldn't be paired together.) Anyway, I was greeted by a sweetie whose name sounds like Tou, and they were so so sweet. Very warm energy and even made me tea while I waited. I ordered pad Thai because the options were overwhelming for last minute hunger. Not too many options but so perfect a menu with variety. This of Thai (to go) was even so beautiful and the aroma, you just know that it's delicious. Mmm. And it most definitely is decadent. I am already a fan of Nudi. Also it's so super cutie inside and they even have an outdoor patio too. Not sure if it's heated but it is covered. (Ask if you need to know.) Also, I love the QR code sticker on the to go box that takes you direct to their online website / menu. Yaaaas. Anyways, thanks for your help, Tou. Pardon if I'm spelling your name wrong.

Me M.

Yelp
I ordered 5 dishes and every one was delightful, delicious and superbly prepared. The sauces were magical. Hats off to the chef.

Tia C.

Yelp
Nudi is, hands down, my favorite Portland restaurant. I bring everyone here and can't recommend it enough. The food is fantastic and always has such a beautiful presentation. The Lak Sa is my go-to! The broth has every flavor component and makes my mouth water to think about it. Yesterday, I finally tried the Angry Birds salad, and OMG, it was AMAZING. The shrimp and salad dressing were out of this world. I also like the devil wings and DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE SPECIALS. Every special I've had has been incredible, and you can tell the chef puts a lot of thought into each dish. Service is always excellent, and I feel cared for when there. The last thing is don't miss out on their drinks! The hot bael fruit is my personal favorite. 10/10 every time.
google avatar

Suz M.

Yelp
Once a favorite & now a place that has inconsistent flavors and regularly overcharges on your bill. Also disappointing when they changed the recipe for the few signature dishes that used to be outstanding. Hopefully they make a comeback.
google avatar

Paul T.

Yelp
The food, service, ambience and every single person who works here is WAAAY to cool for Portland. The service is like going to a 5 star hotel and being treated to the most beautiful and amazing people the world has to offer. Friendly, nice and so warm. The food to go or in the restaurant is impeccable, creative and delightful in all the ways you want it to. The ambience is chill, relaxed and so damn cool. I can't even express how cool this place is. What I'm trying to say here is just GOOOOO!! Thank you to everyone at Nudi for making me feel welcome, loved and cared for. You ALL are amazing and loved by so many. Thank you.

Yelp
Reviewed this restaurant in Trip Advisor already... if u are in the mood of some Asian fusion food with a different menu everyday, this is a place h must consider. They have some exotic items for fusion tea, they alter their menus also to reflect new innovations to mix in with authentic noodles or Schezuan entrees Give this place a try...u will a try

Kathleen L.

Yelp
I'm still exploring Portland's food scene and I lucked out the other day when I tried Nudi for the first time. Even though I know my way around a menu, I like to ask a server what they are most proud of and what they think will bring me back again. Tu, my gracious and knowledgeable server, asked me a few questions and recommended Lak Sa. It was a great combination of ingredients each perfectly cooked so textures were maintained and it made for a soup with balance and flavors enhanced by a variety of spices including curry. All that with a refreshing, not-too-sweet glass of passion fruit iced tea made for a very satisfying first try. Nudi is already drawing me back and I'd be very happy to have Tu as my server again.
google avatar

Matthew B.

Yelp
First time trying Nudi, but it's been on my radar for a long time. I called in our order for pick up - very easy. We ordered the beet salad, garlic frog legs, chocolate ribs, yellow curry with prawns and the pad see lew. I arrived on time and they were just setting up my order. The inside of the restaurant looked great and very inviting. I was well taken care of from my entrance, getting my food, and leaving. I got home and started plating the food for my family. The chocolate ribs were amazing!! Great taste and fall off the bone tender. The garlic frog legs were good but not as crispy on the outside as they could have been. I would not order these again. The beet salad was a great accompaniment to the meal and had great taste. The yellow curry with prawns was great! Really good flavor, lots of rice and ample prawns cooked just right! The pad see lew with chicken was delicious! Great taste, noodles done right and tender chicken. Great food, no problems, we'll be back

Wendy S.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying this place, but it really didn't make it to my A list. We sat outside under the tent on a nice day and the server was pretty attentive and nice. I have been wanting to try to laksa because it's hard to find a good one. The laksa had way too much noodles and not enough soup for me. The broth was not up to my standards for a good bowl of laksa either. It was a little too sweet and just tasted a little off from what a laksa is suppose to taste like. I skip the wings too because it's pretty pricey for what it is. She told me it was 5 jumbo wings, but they're only normal sized wings. I would pass on the calamari too since there's nothing special about it. I really liked the oyster shooters and kimchi udon was very flavorful. Everything was a bit on the heavy side. The highlight of the night was probably the watermelon iced tea.
google avatar

Elaine P.

Yelp
Recently dined here for a friends birthday dinner and everything was immaculate. The vibe of the restaurant is very cozy and has a nature feel which I loved!! The waiter and waitress were so kind to us and even offered my friend a free cheesecake slice on the house since it was her birthday. The food though! IT WAS AMAZING. I got the spicy brisket ramen and it was out of this world good! My friend's pad thai was the best pad thai I've had in Portland. We also got the chocolate ribs which came on a grill of some sort and smoked like crazy which was such a cool experience. Will definitely be coming back in the future!
google avatar

Heidi Y.

Yelp
When it's my birthday, I wanna show OUT! Unfortunately I did not plan ahead of to make a reservation. When my group of 7 pull up to the establishment, they were dawgarn jam packed! I turned to look at my friends and said omg. I desperately needed to join in on the fun. We needed to eat there and only there. Thankfully, the owners and the kind sweet girls took very good care of us. The patio wasnt open, but they opened the patio just for us. They were so quick with the service and the food oh my god don't even get me started on the food I'm so excited I can't even talk right now. The owners were nice and apologetic of the long wait but it wasn't even that long of a wait because we got our drinks immediately. They even surprised us with a special cheesecake on the house since it was my birthday. So fun I cannot wait to come back

Yelp
Y'all. I live in Boise Idaho, and I'm making this trip out for this restaurant. This place is the most delicious, amazing, and show-stopping food I have ever eaten. I would cut off my left toe for a bowl. Cannot recommend enough.

Yelp
Sooooo good!!!!! Definitely a once a week thing me and my wife have been going here for the last couple year. this place is a 10/10

Yelp
visited this restaurant on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch with my out-of-town family. We were eager to eat, so we wasted no time in placing our order. Our selection included the delectable chocolate ribs, devil wings, and the delightful boat noodles. Every dish we had was exceptional. The ribs were so tender that they effortlessly fell off the bone. The chicken wings boasted incredible flavors, and the boat noodles offered a delectable combination of sweetness and savory notes. Would definitely recommend, and if you are planning on sharing dishes, avoid the small outdoor tables to the side.
google avatar

Tracy M.

Yelp
Visiting Portland for the first time & this was our first stop. Best choice ever by stopping here to grab some lunch. The pad thai & spicy brisket ramen were amazing. Definitely the best authentic pad thai we've had. Tou provided exceptional service. Definitely will be stopping by again before we head back home.

Kathleen N.

Yelp
- service: 5/5 friendly staff and quick service - lak sa: 5/5 broth was flavorful. creamy and mildly spicy. - crab rangoon: 3/5 the cream cheese was very rich? like bitter? couldn't taste the crab. the outer layer was fried perfectly tho - margarita: 4/5 $12 for a tiny drink but it was strong!

Yelp
This is the BEST Thai food in Portland! Huge portions, fresh ingredients, friendly service, cute and cozy decor. It's a bit of a drive across town for me, but I will be back again and again. Excellent.
google avatar

Zuriel V.

Yelp
I have such mixed feelings about Nudi. The interior is unique and charming and the menu is very creative. Sometimes communication can be a little tough (but friendly), which is hard with dietary restrictions. The menu takes risks that mostly pay off with unique flavor combinations, but it never feels like I quite found something I am totally satisfied with.
google avatar

Ann N.

Yelp
we ordered several items from the menu but nothing really stood out to me. they have a variety of options to choose from but i would not go back to try them just because everything was average tasting. the place is really cool though.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
Unusual Asian cuisine with incredible plating. Cute dining room with a great outdoor patio. You won't find flavors like this in other restaurants around Portland!

Leslie R.

Yelp
Upon entering, our wet table had a caustic cleaning smell. Our waiter was blah...listless and uninterested. He then proceeded to lean over the table into our space before we were obviously not ready to order. He seemed put out when I said we weren't ready. There was an order next to us, with maximum smoke. If there had been a smoke alarm, it would have gone off. They should have opened the door. The Angry Bird salad was pretty good, prawns well cooked. Beet salad was bad, we had to send back because beets were hard. They then brought it back with burned beets. Should have given it us for free. Noodles dishes were good. Very inconsistent as you can see.
google avatar

Ernie L.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Food is phenomenal. Could not believe the place was empty at noon. Seems a little pricey at first but super high quality and huge portions. I got the brisket ramen and my coworker got the duck curry. We also shared the chicken wings. We both loved everything. She thought wings were a little spicy but I really enjoyed them. Owner is a super nice guy and place is very cute. Highly recommend and absolutely will be back!
google avatar

Ellie G.

Yelp
The service was amazing all the staff were attentive to us. Made sure we had water and drinks and made sure we had any questions about any dishes. The food we ordered was really good the appetizers were small but very tasteful fresh crab meat. The Ramen was super filling and it was a big portion and trust me when I tell you it was a lot of food it was my man eats a lot. He is a big boy and he was full. He didn't even care for my leftovers lol the vibe of this place was very chill and laid back the fresh flowers were definitely a vibe. Babe and I agreed we will be back soon.

Yelp
This place is great I like it a lot the people are really nice and it has a fun atmosphere. Worth the wait

Yelp
A favorite local spot to take guests from out of town. Eclectic menu, consistent service and quality. Chocolate ribs, coconut fettuccine, brisket noodles - all recommended.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of visiting Nudi as our first meal in Portland. Highly recommend Nudi if you are in the area or craving Thai food. Everything we ordered was 10/10 Definitely get the pickled tempura if you are looking for a light appetizer. If you are a pickle lover, you NEED to try this. who knew pickles and tempura make such a great combination?! The folks working here were the absolute sweetest and super attentive. They were always stopping by every so often to make sure we were good or refilled our water. The Ginger Tea was the highlight of my meal. I dont know what they put in here but this is the best Ginger tea I have ever had in my whole LIFE. It was a nice cold evening and this drink just light up my soul.

Yelp
Oh dear. This was not good. My wife and I went out impromptu on a Saturday night, looking for an interesting Woodstock dining experience. We chose Nudi's because of its favorable reviews and long time in the community. First impressions were great. It's got plenty of SE PDX charm and funk. It was crowded, but the wait staff was helpful and we got a good table. The special cocktail was a kiwi margarita, and we enjoyed that very much. The menu is small but broad; my wife ordered the night's special, a ling cod dish. I opted for an Indian style curry crepe. We also opted for the chocolate pork ribs (!!) appetizer, and some calamari. The ribs were delivered with panache, but were unexciting and dull, with little else beyond the novelty of chocolate and pork. The calamari was rubbery and seemed suspiciously frozen in character. My wife had about half and pushed it away. The Indian crepe was tasty and monotonous. One flavor all the way through its overcooked self. Halfway through and I was done. My wife's ling cod was inexcusable, the low point of a disappointing evening. It was presented quite rare and with all the bones to work through, and it tasted simply foul and fishy - nothing like a good white fish. I have a hard time believing a place like Nudi's would make just-about-to-go-bad fish a dinner special, but that's what it was like. We were really disappointed in Nudi's, we are sorry to say.

Yelp
Great Woodstock spot serving a tasteful spin on SE Asian classics and more. One of the most charming waitstaff's in Portland, I would recommend the Laksa. Hasn't been super busy when I've been there, so pull up em.

Yelp
Do NOT GET TAKEOUT from Nudi. Our experience was very poor. We had a guest fly into PDX at about 5pm, and we called Nudi once we were in the car and placed an order for the 3 of us. We had already looked at their menu online and knew what we each wanted before calling. When we got to Nudi, it was clear they hadn't started working on our order and that it wasn't even in the queue. After confirming that we really did want the order, we started waiting patiently off to the side. And we waited. There was one person ahead of us also waiting for a takeout order, and the dining room had 2 or 3 empty tables. While we waited, a couple arrived, were seated, and got their dinner. Most of the other people seated already had their meals. Finally, a little over 50 minutes after our original phone order, we got our food. No apology, no sign that either the young lady at the counter or the cook cared that we'd been waiting there for almost half an hour after we'd arrived and had politely asked about the order. Hey Nudi: if you don't want to do takeout orders, don't offer the service. Treating customers so disrespectfully is not how to run a quality establishment.

Yelp
I came here during the height of the pandemic when everything was closed except "essential" businesses - which did not include restaurants. Luckily, after a few weeks, they were allowed to sell take-out, so I came here, and sat outside (covered tables with heat lamps) in order to help them make it. I love pad Thai so I was thrilled they had it on the menu. I wish I had taken a photo because the presentation was really well done! It came out in a very cool shaped bowl and all the toppings were separated (sprouts, carrots, green onions, chicken etc). I have worked in restaurants before and know that food the more aesthetically pleasing it is, the tastier it is. And this was tasty! Of course, they gave me an extra side of peanut sauce - which I cannot make to save my life - and that made it eve better. Pair that with the amber ale I ordered to drink and I was so happy to help these guys stay afloat.

Yelp
We waited 45 min for our server to stop by. Our drinks were then another 20 or so just for some sodas. The wings said shake but the paper bag broke so they flew all over. The ribs were good, but my main pad lew was inedible due to the salt level. Saltiest Thai food I've ever had. My husband's ramen lacked flavor. We love nama ramen more than here for sure for ramen. Had out of town friends and wanted to treat them, but would not recommend coming back. Our server also did not bring back the right change. Over priced and underwhelmed
