Not a good experience. I received my first order. I purchased 3 kinds. The first one I opened was completely mushy and not edible. I emailed Number One Caviar 2 times with order number and pictures and have not received any response. In order caviar regularly from many other providers. I have never had it come like this. Things happen, but to not respond or make it right is unacceptable. Would NOT recommend this caviar company. Very disappointed.

A last minute booking on a Christmas Day. Beyond grateful my bf took me here and surprised me with such a lovely caviar experience. Every dishes were amazing delicious. Super lovely plate presentation with absolutely delicious bites. I love and enjoyed every second of it. It’s a super small place, but that made it such a unique dining experience. My bf and I got to talked so much without interruption. At the end, the server turned into a tenor and sang a song for us by the lobby next to the piano and Christmas tree. He was incredibly talented. This is one of the best Christmas memories ever. Thank you. <3

THIS. WAS. OUTSTANDING!!!!! We had the caviar centric omakase and every single piece blew me away. The fish was fresh, the caviar was packed on, the restaurant was exclusive and such a cool vibe, and the staff was so nice!! We got to try so many different types of caviar and each was better than the next. This is way worth the $125! PLEASE GO ASAP!

We had an amazing time here! Chef Daniel and his sous chef David were so great. They focused on giving us a very intimate and personal experience. They gave us so much caviar champagne truffles wine. All the food was delicious and decadent. And I’m very generous portions. The food was creative and we had a very memorable night.

My friend and I visited Number One Caviar and was truly amazed. It was very beautiful and a pleasant experience . It’s a small and intimate setting. We loved that so much. We felt catered to and loved every moment of it. We had the 6 course spring dinner. Our host was Damien who was phenomenal from beginning to end. And did I mention he is a fantastic opera singer and gave us a show of his amazing skills by the piano. What a wonderful performance. Bravo Damien!! And thank you!! Our chef was David and he was phenomenal as well. His skills are unmatched. Every course tasted so delicious and was palatable. I’m not just saying this but after trying other caviar places this boutique is number one in my book. I will definitely recommend to others and visit again.

This place is amazing and delicious .we enjoyed our dinner to the last bite. Multicourse dinner, prefixed menu available. Friendly, welcoming and attentive personal will live you with wonderful experience. Dishes are very palatable and beautifully presented. Wide selection of caviar paring with food and wine. And of course dessert. Besides restaurant there is a large selection are purchased retail.

Damian is amazing! We came in with a pulsd voucher, and he welcomed us warmly, making the experience even more enjoyable. It was a quiet visit with just us there, so keep in mind that the vibe might differ when it's busy. The caviar and champagne were excellent, and the prices felt reasonable, especially considering the location and overall experience. Highly recommend!

There was a bit of confusion to start when we arrived at Number One Caviar Boutique. We had made a prepaid reservation for lunch through Etsy which seemed to indicate a couple of options including Afternoon Tea or the Weekend Brunch featuring oysters. However, after we were seated we found out only the Weekend Brunch was being served which didn't work for us as we don't like oysters. They were able to quickly pivot though and offered us a brunch of caviar with the traditional accompaniments. This worked fine with us and we enjoyed the meal. As others have commented, it is a very small space with only four tables for two but they make it work. Overall, a good experience for caviar fans.

We were so excited to try the 10-course tasting menu last week. The service was great, but some of the courses were a little bit disappointing. Also, the cute, but extremely small, dining room is on the 1st floor, but the restrooms are on the third floor. An employee has to swipe you through to take the elevators to the 3rd floor. I hope they open up a real restaurant in the near future, with a kitchen and restrooms.

5/19/2024 Sunday Spring Menu 6 course $225/pp Chef Daniel Arrived into nyc at 8:30am. on a red eye flight did not dampen my excitement going to my first meal at number one caviar that evening. I was looking forward to this meal since I booked the resy! It was a totally luxurious and delicious experience to have. Natasha who tended to us that evening was attentive and had good interaction with us through out our meal. Our meal was the newly updated spring tasting menu with 6 courses. Honestly I was disappointed I didn't get to try the fall/winter menu and worried the spring courses might not be par with the fall/winter menu. Also there were less courses and more expensive for the spring version comparing to the winter one. However, all was well and my worries disappeared as the meal progressed. Spring Tasting Menu: 1) Three Ways of Caviar 1a) Wagyu Tartare w/ Toast 1b) Osetra with mashed potatoes 1c) Pickled Oyster w/ Citrus Vinaigrette and Trout Roe 2) House-made Brioche Bread w/ Crème Fraîche Butter and Kaluga Special Reserve 3) Avocado scallop tartare and Siberian caviar 4) Turbot w/ Fresh Truffle, Scallops, Nori Mousse, Sturgeon Jus, Trout Roe and Ramp Oil Intermezzo: caviar bump / vodka shot 5) A5 Miyazaki Ribeye w/ Potato Gratin, Foie Gras Jus and Golden Osetra 6) Yuzu Cake, Madagascar Vanilla Gelato w/ Caramelized Hazelnuts, Dom Perignon Champagne Gel and Kaluga Gold All in all, fabulous meal and worth the experience.

Absolutely loved our caviar tasting experience. The wine selection was great. Loved our server Damien he was knowledgeable and super attentive. Will def be back to try their new menu with A5 wagyu

2/13/2025 - This is strictly about their dine-in efforts. I had their afternoon tea. While the photos of the food are absolutely accurate, what you don't see is that this is a closet-sized retail location, filled with video screens, delivery people, and that it's bright and filled with techno music. The one person working the retail area, handling packages, etc, is also the same person that will open up boxes of Costco pastries and plate them for you. The food is sad, cheap, and low quality. The ambiance is 'low rent corner store.' What a sad side-hustle. From the photos, I thought they'd use locally sourced pastries and that it would be delicious, but, sadly, no. One type of Costco tea, all costco pastries, and plated in a tiny table in a bright and loud and drafty cramped retail space. I am so embarrassed I brought my friends here. We nibbled at the foie and caviar and left as quickly as we could after spending hundreds of dollars.

What's not to like? Oysters caviar champagne. Yes please to all. The gentleman who worked there brought in fresh oysters and even though they weren't expecting us due to a miscommunication he made our plate and was great! It's small inside but I enjoyed the visit.

Caviar wishes and Champagne dreams! Had a wonderful time once again thanks to David's dishes of delight, each and every morsel was devoured with a smile from ear to ear. Ice cold Vodka shots with caviar bumps? Caviar on everything? Yes please! "I'll have what I'm having!"

Number One Caviar is a hidden gem! The quality of the caviar is top-tier and beautifully presented. The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. The experience is intimate, definitely worth a visit!

I want to start off by thanking Damian for such a fun and entertaining evening! This was my first caviar tasting experience and I'm concerned no other will be able to top this experience. Let's start off with the ambiance. When you walk in you'll immediately feel conflicted by what you see, where it's both beautiful in decor which provides an elegant and high-class vibe, but it also feels very cramped due to its boutique nature. We definitely were caught off guard when we were told that we would be dining in that small space, but Damian, our beloved server, saw our hesitation and eased us with his charm and wittiness, which made us feel so comforted and warmed our hearts! Now the service. David, our chef, was very professional and dedicated his attention and effort into crafting each of our dish delicately. And Damian? Wow, if I have to use one person to portray what exemplary service looks like, it would be Damian. He had character and didn't sugarcoat things regarding what is etiquette and what is his personal taste/opinion; he was funny, witty, and profession at the same time; and he took into consideration our likes and dislikes, utilizing what he heard us talking about in governing the little considerate things he did for us to ease our anxiety and unease (I.e., opened a small bag of truffle chips we commented on to help us settle in). To be honest, the food was amazing and unique, with many unimaginable pairings that worked surprisingly perfect, but without Damian's lovely personality and charisma, we probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as we had! My personal favorite were the potato starters and the rich, creamy, and flavorful scallops! Thank you Damian, for easing our anxiety and making our dining experience so fun and enjoyable! Taste was EXCELLENT! But not enough for a meal--I dined alone, paid and did GrubHub when I got home. I ordered Mexican! The staff was friendly but the experience was poor---the spot is tiny and they encourage doing a Vodka shot with caviar. The problem I found with that, as a woman, was getting my lipstick/ makeup on my body. They need to think that part through...I dunno, it's only ok

I had a terrible customer service experience ordering online. The day before Valentine's Day, I placed an order to be delivered locally (by messenger). It was supposed to arrive by 4pm on V-day. V-day 4pm came-- no caviar. I emailed with no response. 5:30 still no caviar. I emailed again; still no response. At 7:30 I emailed a third time, and at 8pm I was finally told that my order was out for delivery. The order showed up at my door around 9pm, and it had 25% less caviar than I had ordered. When I emailed about the problem, I was told (with no apology) that the store had mixed up two orders. I asked what resolution they had in mind. They never responded, but instead refunded me 25% of my cost. No apology for the order showing up too late for V-day dinner, or for sending a smaller amount than I had ordered. We ate the caviar the following night. It was good. But I'd advise you to walk in rather than order online given the complete indfiference to the customer experience for deliveries.

Number One Caviar lives up to its name. An intimate location wrapped in an exceptional experience. David led the way and ensured our visit was both memorable and enjoyable. A great time for both the novice and the expert. Portions were generous with a wide selection to choose from. Thank you David!

Delightful food and exceptional service! Enjoyed the different ways of eating caviar-even with melons and sorbet! Damien made us felt right at home! Highly recommended!

Wow! Chef Daniel and staff were wonderful. We went to celebrate my boyfriends 30th and had a great time. Very intimate space with 4 hightop tables. Chef came to our table each time to describe the meal and just to chat with us. He was knowledgeable, passionate, and just an overall joy to talk with. The caviar and truffle selection is to die for and we cant wait to come back! His menu changes every few weeks. They were also VERY generous with the caviar portions! Even gave us a shot of vodka and a heaping caviar "bump" 12/10 must give it a try if you want to have an indulgent experience!

Went for a birthday celebration and we had an amazing experience. This is definitely one of those restaurants that you simply have to experience for yourself. The food, service and ambiance provided a holistic and welcoming atmosphere.

So happy this place is so close to my office! Today I went to buy some caviar with my friend, and we decided upon 3.5 oz of Kaluga. The service was great, Cameron was super helpful! I'm really happy with my purchase and am excited to go back. The ambiance is also really nice so I'll go back for a caviar tasting or lunch.

There's a wonderful selection here with very competitive prices. I like the kaluga and golden ossetra very much. They also have cheaper siberian and regular ossetra varieties. The staff are quite knowledgeable and can tell you about the different flavors of caviar and pairings. I find that many people are not aware that caviar is more affordable now than in decades past - if you buy at a good price here and bring some to a social gathering, it tends to make a big splash.

Where to start?!? David is an amazing host and chef. It was the most exquisite dining experience I've ever had. It was our anniversary and David spoiled us. From the presentation to the service, everything was top notch. The decor is beautiful and the music fits the vibe. David was knowledgeable and we left feeling stuffed, happy, and ready to roll back to our hotel!

I hardly ever leave reviews but I thought last nights experience was worth making an exception. I had seen Number One Caviar open up in my neighbourhood & as I am new to America, I decided to go on my own. Worth highlighting is that the space is not designed to mimic a luxury restaurant rather be an intimate dining experience showcasing caviar & fresh produce. As it was Memorial Day weekend there was one other couple there during my sitting (the experience only accommodates 6). This was nice as a solo diner as we soon all decided to split a bottle of wine and enjoy the experience together. Onto the food & drink: Upon arrival you are treated to a very generous glass of champagne, vodka shot & GENEROUS caviar bump which they continue to provide sporadically throughout the experience. The first course comprise of oysters served topped with caviar and salmon roe, delicious. The second course was house made potato latke/ pancake type things showcasing 3 different types of the caviar. At the end of this course the lovely server (who I'm so sorry I am very bad with names) asked which was our favourite. For all 3 of us this was Ossetra. This was then followed by house cured sashimi in lettuce cups topped with a salmon roe and a trout roe. The fourth course was crab in a creamy emulsion topped with poached egg and another generous serve of caviar. The next was my personal favourite, the scallop, roe & caviar in a Dom Perignon sauce. The fifth course was venison with another generous serve of caviar. Finally the dessert, I must admit I was sceptical but it was a tied winner for me along with the scallop. When paying the bill was a lovely surprise, we were each gifted a generous take-home portion of the Ossetra caviar we had highlighted as our favourite earlier in the meal as well as a caviar key to open it with. I personally commented that I loved the bill tray and they were kind enough to gift that as a surprise as well?!?! I have read the previous negative review and I cannot speak to their experience, however from my experience this has been one of my favourite dining experiences in the city this far. Both the chef and server were incredible, it was interactive & fun. I walked out well fed, happily buzzed and with two new friends. I will definitely be back. I would recommend this for couples, small groups or solo diners like me. Definitely big value for money.

Number One Caviar saved my Valentine's Day! My boyfriend and I were going upstate for the weekend and I wanted to surprise him with caviar, last minute. Number One Caviar was able to facilitate my SAME DAY order, and that truly made our Valentine's Day extra special. The caviar itself was amazing, and I don't say that lightly! I personally also loved the delicate branding on the pearl spoon. I can't wait for the Official grand opening, and would happily recommend this spot to any friends in the FiDi area!

My husband and I were celebrating last night so we thought, why not have champagne and caviar. We booked the Prefix dinner and ordered a bottle of champagne but left halfway through our meal because the server we had was rude and arrogant to a point that he ruined our night. I knew he was a nutcase the minute he started spraying disinfectant on our table while we were already seated. Mind you, they had a tiny round high table for two so it was in our face! He was condescending, thinks he's some Caviar connoisseur and introduced the champagne bottles by prices - go figure! I suggest going to Caviar Russe or Marky's - way wayyyyyyy better service, more luxe location and did i say BETTER SERVICE?!

Wait staff was incredible the food ridiculously good. Great place for a small intimate brunch. Thank you thank you for this very special brunch.

I am shocked by the 1 Star reviews. We had THE best time. The service, intimate ambiance and caviar were all excellent. I went with 3 friends and Damian took the best care of us. We laughed, chatted and enjoyed sooo much caviar. We also started talking with the other couple in the boutique so it was like we had one big party. The menu wasn't a 1:1 for match for what is on the website but what we had was beyond our expectations so I assume they just need to update their website. Hands down, I cannot recommend this more.

My husband and I, who live locally, went soon after they opened and we were so thrilled to have this in our very own neighborhood. We took our daughter on her last visit recently and once again they made us feel like we were rockstars. Every bite, scrumptious. Every course was extremely generous. And there was no shyness when it came pouring the bubbles and white burgundy. I was so proud to show our daughter such a wonderful time. Thank you so much. So grateful to have you so close!
