Number Thirty Eight, Clifton, Bristol, southwest England - Explore & Book

"Once the home of shipbuilding, seafaring and industrial engineering, Bristol is a city transformed. Its waterfront warehouses are now cutting-edge galleries, restaurants and boutiques, and its media and music scenes are buzzing with creativity. It was amidst this melting pot that Adam Dorrien Smith and his brother Michael found this grand merchant’s townhouse, and when it comes to balancing old and new, Number Thirty Eight - like the city itself - treads the tightrope beautifully. There’s nothing bland or corporate about this boutique B&B, set in upmarket Clifton, just north of the city centre. We enter through the lounge (there’s no formal reception), where delicious breakfasts and cream teas are served at solid wood tables beside enormous bay windows; there’s also a suntrap terrace to the rear, ideal for cocktails and snacks in summer. In the bedrooms, calming shades of Farrow & Ball dress nautical wood-panelled walls, and vibrant Anthony Frost artworks are scattered around the communal areas. But what really draws our eye is the sweeping cityscape through the windows: rainbow-hued streets to the rear, the leafy expanse of Bristol’s famous Downs to the front, and the cathedral-like tower of the university in the distance. For stylish city stopovers and weekend breaks, it's hard to beat. Highs A home-from-home feel, with a really chilled atmosphere, friendly service and rooms you can relax inYou get a lot for your money: bathtubs and/or rain showers, retro Roberts radios, robes, REN products and exclusive offers at local restaurantsAn awesome breakfast in bed: bacon, avocado, chillies and cherry tomatoes on sourdough, with chilled apple juice and fresh coffeePerfectly placed, close to Whiteladies Road, with the Downs on the doorstep and easy access to the city centre Lots to look at: a bespoke Tom Leaper sculpture on the coiling staircase, a nonchalantly placed Hockney in the downstairs bathroom - not to mention some of the best views in the city Lows No meals other than breakfast are served, but there are restaurants, pubs and bars within easy walking distance The communal areas close at 8pmUnfortunately there is no car park but there is on-street parking and the B&B has a limited number of parking permits free of charge (on request)No under 12sThis is a typical Georgian townhouse, with lots of stairs to contend with (and no lift)" - Melissa Burfitt

Google
Great venue with both indoor and outdoor spaces. Can accommodate large groups easily, while smaller groups can still feel accommodated. Full bar and over 100 beer taps. Outdoor area has stage for live events and large screen for broadcasts. Bar staff is excellent, knowledgeable, attentive. Food offerings are plentiful, burgers and chicken are excellent. Worth the stop.

All the staff were super friendly. The food was a bit pricey for the amount but flavor was pretty good. We ordered the Mac n cheese and 2 types of pizza to share. The atmosphere was fun and dog friendly!

Google
Wow, how cool is this? It has this huge screen outside covered area tons of seating, unique places to order your stuff from plenty of bartenders all working had a DJ big screens on the inside to watch the sports games. Also great drink specials the bathrooms were super unique and clean. Parking was a little bit difficult but that’s the biggest struggle. Very unique I would definitely say try it out. This place is awesome.

Number Thirty Eight is a nice, spacious venue where I attended a party. It had great beer and drinks and was big enough to host around 700 people.

Tiffany Baker

Google
My new favorite! The atmosphere is beyond fun and cute! So much space to move around and different seating options! Love a venue that is indoor and outdoor. Family friendly. Service was fantastic and so easy! The food was delish! I absolutely loved everything I tried! The smashburger was the perfect size, super juicy and fresh! Salty seasoned big fries! The wings were super good! $12 lunch specials and happy hour has some great deals! Can’t wait to go back!

One of the best burgers I had in a while + great drinks, cool atmosphere, and lively music.

Google
Overall a nice sports bar to come and watch any sports game. I loved the atmosphere here. There was decorations and different seating areas that made the place good for different crowds. They also had a cool wristband system where you can just tap and pay anywhere you went. Either the bar or food. Also they had sport courts for volleyball in the back I thought was cool!

Daniel Segura

Google
Food is fantastic; however, the service is lacking in every way. Think of hipsters that are too cool to talk and help you. Atmosphere is top tier for games and parties of 6 or more. Expect slow and too cool for school service.

Yelp
Went to this for Margarita Fest and it was a good space to host. There was tons of open space and lots of seating - inside (by outside patio & indoor booths/tables on other side), outdoor area by big screen/dj stage, volleyball sand court, and lower level chairs. We were there early for Ultra VIP so there wasn't too many people but it also seemed like there wasn't much staff there to greet/serve. Once the event started the place definitely gets packed and it's busy everywhere! The staff does a really great job keeping the areas cleaned, tables wiped, and replacing trash. Bathrooms are nice and clean but a bit dark. Water stations are setup by the bathroom which is nice so you don't have to wait by the bar. We didn't eat the food here so can't comment. Definitely looks like a cool spot to watch a game or kick it with friends.

Yelp
Came here for a band affiliated pre-show party on a Thursday afternoon. The venue was well suited for this kind of event - lots of outdoor seating plus open space and even volleyball areas as well as indoor seating, huge bar, and a stage. It accommodated everyone nicely. The bar had a good selection of beer on tap and some cocktails. We had a specialty cocktail which was yummy then an old fashioned - also good. While tasty, they were a bit overpriced in my opinion. Bartenders were friendly but busy and not ones to do a ton of chitchatting (at least on this occasion). Food selection was pretty terrible. We were feeling peckish but nothing struck a chord (and we aren't picky eaters). In addition to the poor selection, what they did have was on the pricey side for being basic. I overheard some folx commenting on the food being mediocre. While I would return for another event, I'm not sure I would opt to come here just for a drink. Yes, the outdoor space is nice, but there are other venues in Denver that are just as nicely setup and have better food and drink options at a better price point.

Yelp
We saw this place on TikTok so we came in to try it for the first time and to watch the Nuggets game. The TV set up was good. No warm or fuzzy greetings or interactions with any staff members we sought out to ask questions about dogs, food, or drinks. After our group got settled at a table, my fiancé went up to get drinks. No servers were roving. He stood in line for the whole first quarter of the game and maybe moved about 10 feet. Him and I left at that point, and a friend took his place in line to get the table pitchers. They ended up leaving at halftime because they still hadn't made it to the bar! We had actually driven to Westminster and had gotten a table and had a beer in hand at Tap & Burger by the time our friends told us they were leaving. That's over an hour in line waiting for drinks and not actually ever getting one! The two bartenders working the entry bar showed zero urgency to clear the queue. They easily needed to double their staff. It was not a great experience. Maybe spend the money on staffing and training before spending the money on social media marketing? We were excited because the food offerings and because it is dog friendly. We didn't get to try the food or drinks and we probably won't be back to give it a second chance.

Yelp
A year ago I would have given 5, but today sadly we're going with 2. In 3 hours, we had 2 marginal burgers ($38) and 9 cocktails (Tito's sodas) between the two of us... $300+ The food menu has gone wayyyyyyyy down hill. The burgers were terrible. The fries weren't worth eating. The prices have skyrocketed. Sadly I will never return, this place used to be great. A staple of my summer weekends, but nope. Never again.
google avatar

Lee F.

Yelp
Over priced drinks and it always feels like they try to pack as much as possible in the space. Which is fine but never seems to be enough seating. Food isn't anything special either. Word I think of when describing this place is it's just FINE
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Good enough experience but had some glitches. The first was being sold food that they had run out of, as a result it took almost an hour to get our food which was ultimately fine because the switch was actually enjoyable. What we didn't love was standing in long lines and feeling like we were not being served. The bartenders were making delicious cocktails but made you feel like you were inconveniencing them if you ordered something that had to be mixed. It's massive and there were large crowds so I get it, but you're getting paid to do a job so lighten up! Also, we were probably too old to be there based on the clientele of about 21-30 and their parents. We were in the middle ground so it wasn't our favorite.

Yelp
Happy Saturday folks! No better place to watch football than being surrounded by several tvs and an outdoor projector with heaters. The queso was spicy!!! It didn't say it was but it had some HEAT! I like it but if your group doesn't, be careful. We got the Carolina vinegar wings and they were AMAZING. Cooked perfectly and so meaty! We sat outside, there's heaters and a really nice view of the mountains!

Yelp
This place is great if you have friends from out of town who come from bigger cities. It showcases what denver can be, with live music, a large space, and dogs outside! The wait time for drinks is never long, but the prices have been increasing over the years. They also seem to be out of their pizza by 7 pm all the time. Not sure why. Other than that, it's a fun time. Be prepared to spend some money because it's a wrist band tap system for food and drinks, which add up fast with their prices. The food always takes a while to get so I recommend coming for the drinks and environment. They host events here all the time and they are so fun. We went to the avalanche party and the mascot and dancers were there!

Yelp
Super cool and great vibes! Huge outdoor space and great food options! It's in a new part of RiNo, so not really walkable and literally no trees or shade. Service was good for drinks and food!

Joe M.

Yelp
Went in for a drink a little while ago. Took 45 minutes to get a drink which was poorly made. I used to bartend myself so I usually only write positive reviews and let it go, but they have 20% auto gratuity which i honestly don't think they deserved and when I finally got to speak to the GM Zach he seemed kinda drunk and it looked like he wanted to get back to drinking with the bartenders. Won't be coming back. Sub par vibes too and the food was mid at best but for the price it sucks. Don't go here if you want good drinks food or service
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Came here for game 7 Nuggets party. You would think that they would be ready for the crowd but not at all! Long lines, 30-45 minute wait for a drink or food, not enough workers, ran out hot wings by the 1st quarter. I don't understand how management is not prepared at all for a day like this. Get it together!

Yelp
Number Thirty Eight is a pretty convenient RiNo hangout spot close to the freeways. Free parking can be a bit scarce on a weeknight around dinner time thanks to some construction, but I've never had to park more than 2 blocks away. When you enter, you have to show your ID and enter a credit card and share your cell number. They give you a wristband to scan and inform you of an automatic 20% gratuity and that they charge your card on file upon closing. If you have an issue, you can find someone and change your tip I suppose. You get your receipt texted to your phone so it's all pretty convenient. I like their set and rotating beer selection -- they had 5 sour choices when I first visited, now it's down to about 2 so it varies week to week. They only have craft beers, a couple house wine blends, and a couple mixers from what I've seen. Prices are pretty average. The food menu is not super robust. You order then get a buzzer. The pizza slices are pretty large but I waited 20+ minutes for a $7 burnt cracker with cheese. The curly fries are fine. My friend got a hot chicken sandwich and got sick that night so I've avoided the rest of their food (the restaurant was "out" of chicken soon after). Tons of space inside and a huge patio outside with a projection screen, 2 sand volleyball courts, and cornhole boards (Volo leagues play here). Dog friendly outside. Sometimes they have Harry Potter trivia and other events on. The staff is always kind and sociable. They have a nice team system going so you pretty much never have to wait to get a drink after scanning your wristband. Overall I'd say it's a decent spot to meet friends, have a craft beer and catch a game, but I'd avoid the food, and just make sure you check your receipts.

Yelp
Okay, let's talk about Number 38 in Denver, where my friend went to have a fun night and ended up funding someone's retirement plan instead. She accidentally left her tab open, which was $44, and when we checked the bill, surprise! They slapped a $26 tip on there. I'm no math genius, but last I checked, that's more than half the total bill! Is this a bar or a secret pyramid scheme? Look, I'm all for tipping generously, but when I get hit with a tip that's more than my rent, I think we need to have a conversation. If you're going to do this, at least warn us upfront, like "Hey, by the way, we're charging you as if you're Elon Musk." Maybe have a sign, or even a bouncer who hands you a pamphlet titled, "Here's how to lose your trust in humanity one drink at a time." And let's talk about the drinks--$12 for a cocktail the size of a thimble? At this point, I'm just waiting for them to start charging per sip. Seriously, if they want to stay in business, maybe try honesty instead of shady tactics. Charging insane tips and offering drinks that leave you feeling like you've just been through a mini drought is not a good strategy. No wonder they're desperate for business--if I wanted to feel scammed, I'd just go to a used car lot. If you're into paying way too much for way too little, then this place is for you. But if you'd like to keep your wallet--and your dignity--intact, maybe keep looking.

Yelp
I recently went here for a friend's birthday. The drinks and food were good. I wish they had games though! It seemed like a good place for that.

Agustina F.

Yelp
My bartender added a unathourized tip onto my debit card!! They literally stole money from me!! Don't go here!
google avatar

Savannah K.

Yelp
Number 38 has a great outdoor seating area with plenty of high tops, picnic tables, etc & afternoon/evening sun. There is also a mega screen for sporting events. They have an outdoor bar area that is available to reserve for private parties. They offer various taps from local CO breweries and have mixed drinks as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Great patio and spot in Denver! It has so much seating & variety of drinks! The service was quick and friendly. A great spot for a game night or just hanging with friends. There is also sand volleyball which is so fun!

Dackri And Sherry D.

Yelp
Actually listen to their patrons and close the door when it's 50° inside the restaurant and they have a chance to warm the place up
google avatar

Yelp
Have heard about this place forever and finally had the chance to go meet some friends for football Sunday today. We had fun hanging outside - atmosphere was good despite half-hearted snow a6ive clearing outside. Drinks were good, food was mid, sticker shock was serious when it was time to close out. Glad to have hung out today but can't imagine going back when it's this spendy.

Yelp
This place sounded like it was going to be great. When we arrived, thinking it was a family-friendly venue. We were given instructions on how things worked around there. They have this automatic charge bracelet that you swipe all your orders to, and it automatically charges your card . Once you're ready to leave, you just leave, and your receipt will be texted to you. We questioned the automatic 20% service charge for a self-service place, and we were told it's a voluntary 20%. We made our way to the outdoor patio area and couldn't find any shaded areas to sit, so we had to sit in the direct sun which wouldn't had been that bad if we didn't have our little niece with us and the other kids at a few of the nearby tables were sitting under the tables in order to get some shade. The outdoor stage was large enough for the bands and a large outdoor screen, but it didn't offer any entertainment for the outside guests. It was time to order our beverages. We went inside to order our drinks. You are able to sample their beverages. My sister-in-law ordered a margarita that was about the size of a double shot glass that cost about $11. And for a brewhouse, we were expecting a larger craft beer selection, so after a few samples, we just settled for a pitcher of White Rascal. The food was the same brewhouse stuff, hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, and pizza. All this was self-service. It was Bingo day, and this was being played inside. Here's where we took offense to. The Bingo caller had a gimmick, his thing, and that was a Mexican wrestler. The game must have started while we were outside having our beverages and food, so we didn't know what was going on inside. As we were leaving, we walked into the seating service area, and there's this guy dressed up as a Mexican wrestler calling out Bingo numbers and using profanity with children around. From the look around all the gusts this day, it looked like we were the only Hispanics in the facility, so we were thrown off by what we just witnessed, especially in a location and times like this where everyone is so concerned about representation and feelings. It was obvious that everyone there was fine with the mocking of the Hispanic culture. As we checked out, thankfully we were able to change the service charge to something we felt was more fitting than the 20% they requested due to that fact that the only service this place provided was the pouring of drinks and making your food, the guests are the ones who do the actual work by placing and taking your orders to the table and clearing the table. We noticed that we were charged regular prices for two of the samples we tried. Our bracelet tab must have been too close to the reader and may have accidentally changed our card, so this could be problematic for those who don't physically check out at the end of their visit. As you can tell with my review, we definitely were not happy with our visit to this place and definitely don't see ourselves coming back anytime soon. With so many other brewhouses here in Colorado, we'll go spend our money elsewhere.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Super fun spot!!! They have a large indoor and outdoor area. When you walk in you tie your credit card to a wrist band and that's how you pay the entire time- no need to worry about tipping/closing out as it's automatic. They have a full bar, plenty of cocktails, and tons of great CO draft beers! Also Carboy wine. Today I went for their monthly drag bingo and ordered a breakfast burger. That maple bacon patty was a 20/10.
google avatar

Ann O.

Yelp
Solid outdoor area, definitely the highlight of the place. Lots of room inside and plenty of seating options but half of the bar is almost always closed, and it is very loud inside. Food is ok, drinks are ok, not bad at all - but nothing to write home about and a little on the expensive side for what you get.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here to catch some rays last Saturday with my wife and our doggo before the 'arctic blast' - clearly everyone had the same idea in mind, but we had a great time and some great grub! We were able to snag a couple of Adirondack chairs in the turf/stage area before ordering some drinks. No music on the stage today, but there was a singer playing inside and the tunes were being played outside as well. I grabbed a beer and ordered from Split Lip, one of the food vendors inside. My pick today was the Mississippi Slug, which came with 'too many pickles' (no such thing) and tots. After a short wait, my beeper was buzzin' and I went to the pick up window. This burger delivered big time! Cheesy, 'sawse-y' and pickles galor. The smashed patty had some crispy bits, but was juicy and well seasoned. Toasted bun and delicious tots - everything was flawless. They serve pizza after 3pm and it just so happened to be that time - obviously couldn't resist the call of the 'za! Huge slice full of crispy, cupped pepperoni's and zesty sauce. The crust was soft and chewy and hit the spot. There were several other options on the menu that sounded good (muffuletta, boiled peanuts, smoked chicken wings), but we were full for the time being. The food is on point, the drink/beer list is massive and the music is bumpin. Great place for a sunny day and Split Lip is doin it right.

Yelp
Number Thirty Eight is a hot spot in RiNo where you can find an always rotating selection of taprooms and numerous culinary stations. There is an intimate outdoor venue where you can enjoy local musicians and their music while taking in views of the front range. It's the best of Colorado under one roof! Number Thirty Eight uses a touchless payment system with wristbands that ensures you have a seamless experience when ordering food and drinks. You will receive your wristbands upon arrival at Number Thirty Eight and the hostess will link your credit card to your wristbands. We used this touchless payment system at the culinary stations & the taproom. From the taproom, I ordered the Raspberry Provincial Sour Ale from Funkwerks. This tart fruit beer was nice and refreshing for a warm fall day. The citrusy berry aroma transitioned nicely to a subtly sweet finish. I loved this ale! We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the live music and our drinks wile waiting for our food. Number Thirty Eight is dog friendly! What's better than enjoying the CO sunshine with your fur baby? Not much. When our food was ready, our pagers buzzed. I ordered the K-Pop Fries and Bao Buns. The K-Pop Fries were loaded with Pork Belly, Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, Green Onions and Kimchi. The tasty fries were packed with flavor and were a comfort food that brings the heat. I had the Crispy Pork Belly and Chicken Satay Bao Buns. The Crispy Pork Belly is made with Kimchi Mayo, House Pickle and Green Onion. The Chicken Satay is made with Satay Marinade, Peanut Sauce, House Pickle and Cilantro. The Bao Buns were nice and fluffy and stuffed with savory pork & chicken. The bao dough was deliciously sweet and pillowey. The Chicken Satay Bao Bun was my favorite; the peanut sauce on it was amazing! Ross had the Hot Chicken Tennessee Sandwich & Macha Tots. The chicken patty was huge and juicy and had kickin' spice. Definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches we've had in CO.while while

Yelp
I thought this spot was super cool and unique. I've personally never seen another brewery like it. The whole concept of it is that you come in, get a wrist band linked to your card, and then when you order, you scan the wrist band instead of having to do a transaction/open tab. Something else I liked is that tip was already included (20%) so when you're done, you can just leave. The girl who first welcomed us was lovely and explained how everything worked. I loved her energy. Can't say the same thing about the girl who cut off our bands on the way out- she kinda seemed like she hated her job. The beer selection is not too big but I didn't mind. They also serve food. The spot is huge too- with outdoor and indoor seating. It was fairly empty considering it was a Friday night. They also had live music going and we were jamming! Great spot for a chill night. They closed at 11pm and gave us a 15 min last call/heads up. Would return. Would recommend checking it out.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
If you love outdoor spaces this place is a must in warm weather! I cannot wait to return with a large group when there is live music and the ability to play on the "beach" volley ball courts - after all isn't that west summers are for? Be sure to check the calendar to see when they are doing their drag brunches! Otherwise, with a variety of local beers on tap this is the perfect warm weather weekend hang
google avatar

Kristina B.

Yelp
Wowza, brought kids here, maybe not appropriate. Awesome concept, give them your credit card at the door then scan similar to Disney. Just walk out when you are done. We were looking forward to the outdoor patio but on a Friday night it was packed and loud, as it should be!! We found a great quiet area near the entrance for the kids to sit and eat. Everyone loved the food. Chicken sandwiches, the medium is even really spicy for someone who loves spicy. Burgers, tots and Hawaiian Mac salad were so so so good. The drinks are phenomenal! I had gold rush and another take on an old fashion followed by carboy rose (don't recommend) and pumpkin smash which is amazing!! We will be back sans kids!

Yelp
Cute place but not much shade for when it's super hot and randomly rainy. Most of the activity is outside but the inside has a cool layout which seems to be a similar theme around Denver. The fries I had were good, a little over salted but that's okay. Service is great! There was a live band but you can't hear it outside. Kinda wish they had the live band outside on the stage although there was a fight on. Overall, it does get super sunny, they don't have umbrellas so if you bring a dog, you kinda have to fight for a shady table
google avatar

Magda M.

Yelp
Cool set up for a large group on a Sunday. I was visiting Denver and we went here after a nearby art fest. I got a cocktail and then a burger at another one of the stalls. The space outside was great - lots of tables, lots of room to roam. The coolest part? The wrist bands that you get when you enter. You can tie your credit card to it, making sure you don't have to open that wallet or fumble with your purse the entire time you are there. Easy to buy, easy to sell. Great shopping experience. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Denver!

Yelp
It was Superbowl Sunday. My friend was in town and wanted to take me to a specific restaurant, but it was closed. BOOO!!! Fortunately we Yelped around and found Number 38. Parking was pretty easy (this is basically a large warehouse in the middle of nowhere) and the check-in process was cool. We were given RFID wristbands and shown to our barstool seats. From other reviews, it sounds like reservations are typically needed, but because everyone was trying to watch the Superbowl outside (with their dogs!!) we took the unpopular seats at the bar. Super comfy cushions, by the way. Whenever we ordered food or drink, the wristbands were scanned to add onto our tab. Love this touchless payment system. Wide variety of beers and a few cocktail options on tap. All of them were tasty! Love the bartenders here. On the far end of Number 38 (next to the restrooms) is food!! I did take one star off because the food was only okay. Loved the kimchi fries, but I thought the bao buns lacked flavor. I plan on coming back and doing this all over again... I had so much fun!!

Yelp
Good music love the vibe. Yummy food and service is quick. 10/10 would recommend. I love the options of drinks, there is so many it's great.

Yelp
Amazing event venue that has tons of space indoor and outdoor. The setup is great. Everything is modern and beautiful. The bar system with a wrist band is awesome and easy. The bathroom has great art. Parking is the only thing that might be a little hard.

Yelp
A friend told me about this and I was really excited to try it because of the big patio and dog friendly but the first thing they tell you is that there's gonna be a 20% gratuity added to your bill. This is their biggest mistake. It's all self-service, beer is in plastic cups, food is in Styrofoam I don't know what the 20% is for because it's certainly not for dishwashers. All the food is self service, get your own beer, get water for your dog, get dog treats back at the hostess station. There's absolutely no service at all at this place. Beers are good. Food is not good. I have a horrible indigestion from the potato chips and weird hummus. But beer prices aren't even advertised. You have to always look up your QR code. For wanting to add 20% when everything is self service, they are doing a major disservice to themselves. I will never be back. It's a cool space but it's pretty empty.

Yelp
This is like the Equivalent of Red Rocks. 18,000 sq ft of outside area and free concert. They will have performing local artists and some famous ones. You never really know Yeah this is massive inside and out. When I went a couple of weeks ago I was so impressed. With the staff, food and the amt of ONLY local beers on tap. And some bourbon, wines.' Food. They have ramen, tacos and my fave Bao Buns. The Bao Buns are definitely the pick I would choose for the night. This is truly a socially distanced spot. When you arrive you guys can can assign an amount to your group or go individually. Individually just means you opened a tap just for you. Big group? Do individual. Unless of course you're paying for everybody. This wristband is your identity. This will let you and the staff taking your order know how much money you have left. First thing you do when you order is you scan this wristband. That's it. You will be given a buzzer. Btw- they have a volleyball court complete with sand waiting for you outside. For now it's the three above mentioned food but I was told that there's more coming! Now if you wanna leave just walk Out. Truly is a socially distanced way of doing business!

Yelp
Second time I've been here. The space is cool and so is the concept. They link your credit card to a bracelet that you can wear and scan whenever you order food and beer. However their internet was down right when we got there so even though we had the bracelets, we still had to use our credit card at the food and beer stations. I totally understand this wasn't their fault though. Unfortunately, the food was subpar. The Washington burger and fries were ok but the cabbage cobb salad was probably the worst salad I've ever bought. I think they could have put more time and thought into the ingredients and what goes well together but it kind of felt like they used cheap ingredients/produce. We did not finish the salad nor did we take it home. The environment is cool though, and I'd come back another time but skip the food.

Yelp
First time here and it's massive, definitely a weekend spot for dogs, friends, kids and friends. Play volleyball, watch sports, sit inside or in the sun. Definitely a place to check out in denver!!!

Yelp
Number Thirty Eight was a great experience all around. We enjoyed the touchless system for payment and the ease of using our wristbands... quite easy, so be warned! N38 is a massive place, well designed and laid out. There are so many seating areas / options, including their long bars and cozy interior spaces (for use once we're on the other side of COVID). Even outside, there are dyads, triads, 4 tops, picnic tables - you name it, they've got your party covered. In reading several other Yelp reviews and checking the weather, we layered up for our 4:30 pm outdoor seating reservation. Thermals for the win! As there aren't heaters on the lawn for those enjoying the outdoor seating, dress as if you're headed to the mountains, and you'll be quite cozy. We enjoyed PJ Moon and the Swaggers - a great show. Loved the acoustic vibe, their own songs and a few covers. We had front row seats and thoroughly enjoyed the live music. In reading other reviews, I learned that all live music performances are free and if the artists choose to offer a tip jar, you can tip that way, but this is at their discretion as they are paid via N38. The food? Also great. Not a ton of options (for now) but every dish we ordered hit it out of the park. Asian meets Mexican in all the best of ways. We shared the K-Pop fries. He had the Green Curry ramen and I enjoyed the Spicy Chicken ramen. And to wash it down, we enjoyed a few craft beers, a cider and a few cocktails. Perfect. We will definitely be back and will bring our pups next time, as the outdoor seating areas are dog friendly. Another win for us!

Yelp
We came to Number Thirty Eight at 4:30pm on a Wednesday so it was preettty empty but still had a cool vibe. They played great music, had a delicious-looking food menu, interesting drink options, and super comfy barstools to boot. We had to leave just as that night's band was setting up but it felt like a great venue to take in live music that'll be even better in the summer. Drawbacks: While the no-touch bracelet system is kinda cool, it seems a bit wasteful and I don't like the lack of price transparency at the bar. I appreciated the nice design touches and typography throughout and would have appreciated it more if they'd listed the price of each drink somewhere so we didn't have to ask. Gotta watch the old purse strings with inflation these days, y'know?

Yelp
Really bad food. Greasy chicken sandwich, soggy fries wilted salad. Decent beer list but mixed drinks were small plastic cups for $12 and below average. 20 percent auto gratuity and everything is walk up to the counter for food and drinks and even water. What service are we paying for? Parking situation was even bad with construction on all sides. Won't be back- very disappointed.

Yelp
This place always seemed to be packed. It is a good place for groups since everyone has their own wristband so you don't have to worry about asking for separate tabs. The patio area is large and nice on warm/sunny days. The food is decent, I wish they had a little more variety though. They do always have a pretty good beer selection. But sometimes when it's really crowded for an event, it can take awhile to order and the line backs up quickly.

Yelp
Super cool spot! Once you arrive, they check IDs, give you a wrist band and assign your form of payment to your wrist band. It's pretty cool, everything is touch less payment. When ordering drinks and food all you do is scan your wristband on the machine and you're all done. I will admit that it is pretty easy to spend a lot of money bc drinks don't have a price and scanning your wrist band is so fast and easy that you can lose track easily. You don't receive a receipt till the evening has ended and they have closed. You receive a text message as a receipt which will include an automatic 20% gratuity. Lots of drink options and food was fantastic! They had a DJ when we went and lots of outdoor seating, which we loved! We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Fun space, lots of room so that it doesn't feel crowded, great couches to lounge on, delicious margaritas on draft, a stage for live performances, food... what more could you ask for? It's all here and it's all great

Yelp
One of absolute favorite places to come. There is always live music, great food options, and a hell of a lot to drink. The wrist bands make the lines for the "bar" go by super fast, rarely any waiting around. The giant tv outside is perfect for sports fans and my favorite part is the sand volleyball courts! I'd recommend ubering or walking if you can, parking is difficult in this area. You must be 21+ to enter (which I love because no kids are running around). There is corn hole as well, they could throw a few more out as they are always taken but that's how places like this (with great outdoor areas) tend to be! Also they have a NA beer which is AWESOME! It's not 0.0% but it's perfect for people like me who want to taste great beer but not get too crazy!

Yelp
I honestly don't know how to review this place because I have such mixed feelings... Went for the Drag Brunch/BINGO. It would have been a lot more fun if it weren't for all the extremely rude customers that stand around you and in front of you talking over the queens, like there's no show going on at all. The restaurant itself is okay. Food is eh, diner/bar quality food. Service was great though, very courteous. I guess to sum it up, this was the straightest drag event I've ever been to! 90% women, 7% straight men, and 3% gays in the crowd...smh As a straight bar? it's okay. As a gay ANYTHING,

Yelp
Fun fun fun! Stopped here while visiting a friend in CO and joined friends of his celebrating a birthday. The place is very well put together. From bar area to outdoor space. Very well thought out. The big win for me was the outside volleyball "sand" courts they have. Great place to entertain a group of fit people while having alcohol and food haha. Both the food and drinks were great. I would definitely recommend this place. Would also be returning next time I am in town.

Yelp
We worked with Shara Dowd (GM) to rent out the semi-private indoor space for our wedding weekend welcome event. It was especially affordable because we could rent out just the space, and let guests pay for their food and drinks. (With a guest list of 200 people, this was a financial lifesaver!) The space also came with private bartenders, and the decor is just fabulous. Westword readers voted for Number Thirty-Eight as having the best bathrooms at a venue in 2022 - We have to agree! The tiniest thing we didn't realize was that no one from the venue would meet us a the blocked off semi-private space - we just showed up and were able to walk into the space and use it early for our wedding ceremony rehearsal. Highly recommend if you're looking for a semi-private space to host an event that doesn't break the bank!

Yelp
Cool venue for an arts and music showcase. Inside they have 2 areas for drinks (beer, wine, and cocktails). They also have food options. The outdoor stage is large and there's a decent amount of seating, however on a super sunny, hot day, the venue could use more umbrellas for the tables or set up a tent to provide some relief from the rays. The restrooms are clean and adorned with art. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
First time visiting, and to attend a Colorado Avalanche watch party. They're normally not open on Monday, and because their request to host a watch party was last minute, they werent able to offer a full menu. Unfortunately this was not conveyed to patrons upon entering. Will we return? ‍

Yelp
Cool place! You get a wrist band when you arrive that is tied to your credit card and just scan your wrist when you order. Had lots of drink options. Burger, pizza and tots were all delicious. DJ they had was a little weird. Cool brewery vibe.
