Honestly this is one of my alllllll time favorite go to pizza place!!!!!! The pizza is delicious. It comes in so many different flavors. You can get a single flavor pizza or two flavor pizza or three flavor pizza. It all depends on which size you get. A small is a single flavor. A medium is two flavors and the large is 3 flavors. It is in a rectangular shaped pizza. It is cooked in a brick oven. It's delicious and bubbly and golden brown. I believe in the spring and summer time they open up the window doors so there is the summer breeze coming in and there are tables outside. But in the winter time it is closed and no one is ratting outside. The ambiance is great for a date night or brunch time during the morning. The pasta was delicious but the sauce was a little saltier for me but it was still delicious none the less. Suggested to my friend that she can go there for her birthday with her friends and they loveddddddd it. It really is a wonderful spot to hit up and if you love Italian it is definitely worth trying.

First. Nicest staff. It’s my neighborhood pizza restaurant and I’ve been going here for 8 years. They were cash only before the pandemic… now they accept CC. Much easier for me. The food is always so good. Lately I’ve been coming here for happy hour and early dinner with my daughter after I pick her up from school Fridays. They have happy hour til 6. Happy hour drink prices are great esp in the east village! I usually get aperol spritz and a glass of wine. Only $8! Most places for happy hour is still like $11. We love coming here for good food and drinks and very friendly staff!

The service and food were both fantastic. Probably one of the best tiramisu I’ve had has been from here. The strawberry flan was very good as well. Overall I would definitely come back here. A medium pizza, two drinks, and desserts came up to about $80 with tip included. Enjoy!

Got the margherita pizza for takeaway which had a beautifully thin crisp crust and lovely base. We had a nice chat with Lorenzo who kindly gave us tiramisu to also enjoy, it was delicious☺️ thank you numero 28!! Will come back again on our next visit

Very good Neapolitan style pizza. Lots of tables and a good amount of outdoor seats. Would be good for a casual night out. Spacious interior as you can see from the photos.

Pizza was delicious!!! I split the "couple" size with a friend and we got two flavors - the D.O.C. and the Diavolo; both had super fresh ingredients and tasted wonderful. My drink I wasn't really a fan of.. I had the Aviatore which was a little too sugary for my taste (it has Maraschino liqueur) but it had a great presentation! Waiter messed up one of our pizza orders but other than that service was nice.

Life-threatening restaurant! We ordered a gluten-free pizza for my wife, and they sent a standard pizza instead. After having a bite of something that could potentially have killed her, my wife asked me to test the pizza. I found it so normal to be a GF type of base so to make sure she called the place to check what happened. The lady from the pizzeria confirmed the mistake, and although my wife emphasised the risk of this mistake, the lady simply suggested my wife to complaint to Uber eats to get a refund. No apologies or any signal of concern about the risky they imposed on my wife's health. Avoid this place at any cost as they don't care if their customers could die because of their food. p.s.: on top of this problem, our order also had a missing item.

This pizza was excellent. It should really be a 4.5 star review, but it's a Monday and I'm in a good mood. Whatever. The pizza is fresh and made well. The ingredients are solid and it's a really good pie. The margherita pie is pretty light so go nuts on it. Eat 5 more slices than you want to. Also, eat outside. Just do it. Came for drinks with my partner on a Sunday (aperol spritz for me and a prosecco for her) after a stressful morning regarding her health. We brought our dog, who isn't social with other dogs, so had to sit 2 tables away, under the edges of the awning on a hot day: One of us was covered, the other wasn't, which was awkward, so we switched halfway (we made it work). The service was otherwise great, with great people-watching, both of the clientele and the people on 2nd Avenue. Didn't try the food, but will, obv. not on Friday nights. The music being pumped outdoors was perfect! One star off for serving with single-use plastic straws EXCEPT UPON REQUEST which is against city rules since NOVEMBER 2021, OMG

TL;DR Rowdy but decent dinner spot. Recommend both the pizza and pasta! Food (5/5) - Pizza was great - crust was crispy, toppings held onto the sauce and the dough. Good variety of toppings as well - mushrooms and proscuitto was a good contrast in the Capricciosa but also not too salty.. Pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce consistency was pretty perfect, no breakage. Tiramisu was pretty good, not too soggy or too dry. Pretty good kick of brandy. Price (4/5) - Spent probably 30 apiece for two mains and a dessert. Not bad as far as NYC goes. Service (3/5) - Came here at 8pm, food was served at 9:45 and I had to leave at 10:15. Really long wait and no one really told us why it was taking so long. It was a busy Friday but still. Ambiance (3/5) - Will say I had to shout to hear what my friend was saying across the table at all times and the table was a little wobbly, not to mention small. It could barely hold both our dishes! In terms of lighting, definitely on the darker side and the area near the French windows at the front can get a little drafty.

This place is hands down my favorite restaurant to get Italian! Everything is soo fresh and delicious and the wine is absolutely amazing! They have indoor and outdoor seating options and you can even sit up at the bar and watch the pizzas cook. We've never had a bad experience here and the service is great! I recommend going for lunch or happy hour when it's nice and quiet, but dinner has a very romantic vibe with candle light and intimate seating

Delicious food and wonderful Neapolitan atmosphere (in The Lower East Side, anyway). Nothing like traveling with 23 hungry teenagers to NYC and finding this fabulous place 2 blocks from the hotel. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and we spent our first night in the City lingering at our tables and enjoying delicious salads, fried calamari, and incredibly humongous pizzas.

Dined here with a party of three. Was quickly seated and felt as if you're in someone's home - the restaurant is tucked a few feet below ground level making the experience feel warm and cozy. The pizza was great - the Capricciosa was my favorite - Delicious flavorful prosciutto with earthy mushrooms to contrast. They all were great, the tartufo could've used some more truffle oil and a touch of salt. Nice menu with fair amount of traditional options that I'd like to try in the future. Items were all reasonably priced. Peroni listed on the menu was $6, but was charged $7. The bottle of pino noir was great as well. This place offers a warm and welcoming experience to have great tasting brick oven pizza and other typical Italian fare that could easily become a routine spot for some.

i was on my way to angelikas and needed a bite. obviously it's les so i wasn't expecting cheap but i didn't want to leave having spent $50 either. numero 28 was perfect! i walked in and sat myself at the bar. there was a live band playing and overall just a great rustic vibe. nothing felt overly contemporary and as soon as i started getting served, i knew it was authentic italian. the owner (i think) walked me through the menu and the prices were great. entrees topped out in the mid 20s and personal pizzas were all around 17. cocktails topped out at 15 and beers were around 6 dollars. amazing value for what you're getting. i had been craving pizza and i was looking for something relatively light so that's what i got. the readily offered up the chili oil and they didn't tiptoe around the heat. paired with an italian lager and a one of their cocktails, the experience was great. i'll definitely be going back for more of an entree situation and would definitely recommend! the

Overall this place is amazing ! The service and food is great. We were a large group (10+) and they got all our orders correct which is shocking as most places tend to get things mixed up. Also for the price you really get your moneys worth. The portions are all shareable and everything tasted delicious. The gambari with mussels is a bit spicy but I did not mind as I enjoy spicy food. I would definitely return.

I've been here twice. The first time i went the service was pretty bad and the food was average. I gave it a second chance and was pleasantly surprised. Get the carbonara pizza!

Be aware that this place is CASH ONLY! They have an ATM in house but I always like to know in advance :) Enjoyed the food here thoroughly, only taking a star away because of the slightly too high prices and the slightly underwhelming service. The fun thing about this spot is that depending on the size of pizza you get, you can pick one, two, or 3 different "flavors" of pizza. Not sure if flavors is the right word but we are going to go with it. For this reason this is a great spot for small or large groups who want to try a couple of different things! They have some fun and funky pizza options, but I went with the classic DOC and Parma. Both were really delicious, although I wish that the DOC had a bit more sauce and mozzarella everywhere, it seemed they just didn't fill the pie to its potential capacity and there was a lot of untouched crust. Again, taking away a star because we had to flag down the wait staff a few times for things, and the prices are slightly too high for the amount of food you get comparative to other pizza spots, but it was undoubtedly very yummy and I will likely return!

We made a reservation for a large group of people and everyone at Numero 28 was so kind and accommodating!! It was a fantastic experience and the pizzas and appetizers were delicious. I would highly recommend this pizzeria.

Originally I had planned to go to Luzzos which is a block down from this place, but my boyfriend passed by this place, and thought it looked like a cute spot to try. I am actually pretty bummed that we chose this place, because of two major things. One, is because of the staff and second is that this place is CASH only! The place was pretty much empty. Tons of empty tables, yet the host and waitress stand there looking at some list, and we are like. Seriously? We can see tons of free tables, so why can't you just sit the two of us? After some time talking back and forth in Italian with her other coworkers, she sits us, but mentions that we would have to leave in an hour, unless we want to sit at the bar. Honestly, we should have just left, because the food wasn't all that anyways. We decided to just eat here due to our time constraints of wanting to eat before catching our movie. We ordered the medium pizza, which allows you to order to different types of pizzas in one. This is a rectangular pizza. We ordered half 5 cheese and half truffle pizza. The pizza was good, but not amazing! Overall, it was average. Service is super important for me, and their attitude really ticked me off, and for that reason I give the place 3 stars only and do not plan on going back.

From the moment my friend and I walked in I knew we chose the right place. All the staff are welcoming and engaging. Food is delicious and service very very good. Just sorry I was too full to try the Brick Oven Pizza. Definitely going back. A Italian Food Gem!

Meh...I've ordered Numero 28 for delivery a handful of times and I've never been blown away. It's regularly 30% off on Seamless which sounds like a great deal at face value but everything is probably 30% overpriced to start realistically. There's a huge selection of pies (both red and white) with some creative ingredients. For instance, I had the Giulietta ($19) the other day with pumpkin, pecorino, and pancetta. Individual pies run you around $16-$19 and they're very small - definitely a lot smaller than most other "artisan" pies in the same price range (thinking Roberta's, Marta, etc). Pasta dishes are around the same price value and the sizes are super skimpy. I also HIGHLY doubt that it's homemade pasta which makes the price a little egregious. The farfalle al salmone ($17) that I had the other day was mediocre at best and barely made a dent in my appetite. The pies are good, don't get me wrong: the sauce is really fantastic and the ingredients are always really fresh. Definitely recommend the red pies over the white. They do a good job with on-time delivery. In all, it's good food, there's just better for cheaper.

Numero 28 had a BRICK OVEN !!!!!!! Their pizza is delicious!!!!!! And that is all I ever get when I'm there. If u don't know numero 28 this is how their pizza works. Their pizza is a long rectangular shape( already different from typical circle shaped pizza). There are 3 sizes. Small, medium and large. The small size u choose one flavor. Medium u get to choose 2 flavors. And large u get to choose 3 flavors. U can choose between all their pizza flavors whether it is the red sauce or the white sauce or their special flavors. Each of the flavors are all priced differently, so how do they charge.....?!?!?! Well they charge the highest price out of whatever flavors u choose- ( i.e.: if one is $36, $28, $30 they will charge $36 for the pizza) Back in the days I use to order the arugula and prosciutto and other simpler flavors. But this time around I went with friend who were more adventurous. We got a red sauce with artichoke and olive and all round deliciousness. Then we also got a stinky cheese with caramelized onion and walnut. Iiiiiii know what u guys r thinking, STINKY CHEESES!?!?!???? RU OUT OF UR FRIGGEN MINDDDDDDDD!?!?!?? Well no. Cause that was flipping DELICIOUSSSSSSSSS!!!!! It was empty cheesy and crunchy and sweet. The sweetness of the caramelized onion really paired well with the cheese and then the walnut gave a nutty note with a crunch. It has really become my favorite flavor so far. Then we got a Bolognese pasta which was delicious but it was slightly on the salty side for me. But still delicious non the less. But just the medium sized pizza was enough for the 3 of us ladies. Total the bill came to about $50.00 ish.

Listen, if I could give this place negative 5 stars I would! I'm giving them one star so that I can post this review to warn others to stay as far away from this place as possible-- even walk on the other side of the street so you don't have to encounter the negative energy filling up this spot. I could write a book on how bad the service was but I'll give you just the highlights. We sat down and it took 10 minutes at least to get a menu. There were 4 tables occupied max including us and there were at least two servers and a busses. Let's move on. We ordered happy hour drinks and those were served from a very suspicious looking set up and the wine was extremely watered down-- how is that even possible. We are then ghosted for another 15 mins or so. They waiter comes back and says oh I need to give you menus. Sigh. We already had them, we just want to order. We ordered bruschetta, French fries, and a pasta dish. It took 30 mins for the bruschetta to arrive and we had to flag someone down to ask about the fries, which were already ready and waiting to deliver to us. After another 30 mins the small pasta dish arrives with no serving utensils. At that point we ask about bread and oil that we see being delivered to every other table and are told they bring it depending on what you order. Things go from bad to worse and my dining companion asks to speak to a manager to share our feedback. A woman who ignored us for our entire visit comes over and says, "the owner is not here. What is the problem?" I could have stomached this if her approach had been different. But she chose violence, and instead of matching hers with mine, I asked for the check. It took at least 10 more minutes before we are able to pay. As we are leaving she, in a much softer tone tried to acknowledge our discomfort and disappointment with our experience. I had to quickly leave before the experience turned dark and stormy on my accord. I can say more, but I am going to go and zen myself out with a late night work meeting or a root canal now. Please heed my advice. Do. Not. Go.

We went here for a birthday dinner due to the seemingly good ambience and good food. What we had received was incorrect food orders and service that was borderline reprehensible. We had waited over 45 minutes for pasta that was barely a single serving and had fabricated that there were items out of stock when they actually had the items. They had also incorrectly stated items on the bill. Please do not visit this establishment as the overall experience and service was borderline embarrassing.

You know what's really annoying? Having to microwave your delivery pizza. Now to be fair, that might be more on Grubhub than Numero 28 that our food was cold. Not impressed with N28's price. $40 for a pizza for two? Decided to take a chance on it. Pizza is mostly bread. It's good bread! Maybe even great! But it's hogging all the real estate on this pizza. Little cheese, uneven saucing, and like 7 pepperoni. Maybe the personal sized pizzas are better? Or maybe it's something that you eat in store. Not a great delivery choice.

Great experience on a Saturday evening. Very cute warm and cozy restaurant, a perfect place to escape the rain. The service was great as well, attentive but not too much. The food was excellent, highly recommended the pizza was so so good.

Cute neighbourhood joint. Great take on napoleon pizza, fair and responsible price ranges - good variety of dishes too! Wish we had made the HH which looked good, we will be back!

The break down of my review.. 5 stars for food 3 for service Minus points for also being cash only.... We had for an app the rice balls, which were delicious! Very light and airy. Highly recommend! For the meal we had a "couple" pizza, half Margarita and half Parma. The brick oven pizza here is delicious! Cooked to perfection and also not too heavy of a dish. Nice and light. The service wasn't great when we went. Although nice, the server hardly checked in on us and seemed like a lot of people were just hanging out at the bar and drinking. It was St Patty's day though so maybe it was an exception. Either way, it took us a while to get the server throughout the meal and for the check. Overall I would come back for the food!

Some of the best pizza we've had in a long time. Very thin and crispy crust, flavorful sauces, and fresh burrata. Pasta was also excellent. 2 of us split the calabrese personal pizza (it's pretty big), and the "priest strangle" pasta. We also tried their cocktails (delicious) and the Nutella pizza for dessert. The ambience was super cute with the outdoor space and the server was so sweet. Overall a wonderful experience

I shared this huge looking pizza (I ate 7 slices), but since the crust is very thin we polished it off with no problem. At $30, it was pretty expensive I think but it was good pizza.

The waitress girl walks with her hair loose. They brought me food with her hair. It was disgusting. I ask the institution to take action and monitor the way the waiters go. If you don't want customers to be brought orders with hair. Terrible experience and I sincerely do not recommend this place to anyone. The waitress is very unpleasant and rude.

CASH ONLY! We ordered the couple pizza (perfect for two) with half margarita and marinara and a side of fries. The pizza was delish and oh boy I couldnt keep my hands off the fries. Prepare to wait a minimum of 20 minutes for the pizza. Overall good experience and I would recommend it if your in the area. Can't go wrong with brick oven pizza!

So happy we ended here for our Christmas Eve dinner. The food was delicious, you can see the quality, service was impeccable and their portions and prices are great ! Outdoor seating area is spacious and warm. 1000 percent will come back.

First time at this location. I must say I liked the pizza better here. I may not have realized they had smaller sizes at the other location. We ordered the spicy sausage and the Tartufo. Service Was on point!

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been in NYC. Everyone was delicious - specially the raviolis. And the service was outstanding!

As many reviews say, try their signature Numero 28, which is buffalo mozzarella, truffle cream, prosciutto, and mushrooms. We also had the Fricchettone, which is kale, Italian sausage, stracchino cheese, basil. Both were delicious and balanced each other out. The Numero 28 is a white pizza and on the heavy side but the Fricchettone was a red sauce and had a completely different flavor. We got the medium for $33 and were able to split it into two flavors. The small is ~$19 and is only one flavor and the large is ~$44 and can be split into three. While the pizza was amazing and fresh, I felt that it was a tad overpriced for just pizza. PS - they are cash only.

This location has such a freeing vibe! The waiters are super super chill and will do anything to accommodate your outdoor dining experience. You can tell the waiters all get along which makes the experience more inviting. I wish i came to this spot before COVID, but glad i got to try it cause THAT pizza definitely tastes like they just took it out the oven. The bread they use is so tasty and light. You want to eat the whole dam thing. This spot brings out such a different take. You can customize your toppings and they are willing to make sure you enjoy it. It's just so good ! My friend gets the carbonara and it had a whole egg in the middle, trust that the cheese combined with the egg just brought out the taste. SO GOoD! Ive been in this location 4 times already. Came here for a bite w/ family. Prices are insane! The ambiance is lovely and they were wonderfully decorated for Halloween! Great water service, and our waiter was awesome too! We ordered one of the larger pies, to accommodate g-ma, myself, and the rest of the group. The pizza wasn't amazing and they forgot to add two toppings to one of the thirds. Also some of the toppings overlap, so if you have a strict diet, you might have to forgo eating a slice. The slices were flimsy and nothing special in taste with regards to the sauce, toppings, etc. We did smell burning chemicals earlier... like as if they used one of those quick logs. We weren't sure if it was pure wood burning or makeshift wood burning in the stove. I'd probably like to come back here and try some of their other eats, instead of the pizza. They also have a steep ramp which is probably not ADA certified, but if you are entering via a wheel chair, definitely have strong arms and upper-body strength or make sure someone is holding on as they roll you down to the main level. Bathroom is gender neutral. They should get a roll stand/dispenser that is easy to grab. The one they have is not practical for any normal fit human or any dilapidated w/ issues human. Happy eats!

Definitely the best pizza in NYC! D.O.C. Pizza is definitely my favorite, simple but made it with high quality ingredients. Friendly and knowledgeable staff in a familiar atmosphere. You guys make me feel home every time! Great job

Giving it a 3 only cause the server was very sweet and worked quickly on my food but honestly, even despite working quickly, I feel like the middle of my lasagna shouldn't be cold - yes not even lukewarm - cold. It had good flavor though and pizzas looked decent so maybe revisit if in the area again.

OMG there are so so so many new Pizza joints opening up in East Village and I really hesitate to give out 5 star rankings. 28 Pizzeria Napoletana has been open for quite a while and their Napolean style pizza is pretty good. I like the decor of exposed brick, huge brick oven and hardwood tables. The menu is mostly pizza with a few pasta dishes. We ordered a cold cut of Meat & Cheese plate and a 29" Diavola pizza to share among 3. The meat and cheese plate was alright. I think the meat could be fresher and maybe the portion could be a little more too. The pizza was pretty big. It comes in a long capsule shape and it was thin and crispy on the crust. The flavor was good and the hot pepproni was flavorful. I think for the price and atmosphere, Numero 28 is a good neighborhood pizza joint. It is not too heavy and it is freshly made. Service is friendly and people can have a good time here enjoying pizza and Italian wine. I personally think Veloce is better though.

This place is great for a night out with friends, a birthday or just dinner. The atmosphere is casual, there are simple dishes on the menu of pasta, pizza, salads and some great variety with appetizers. We had a pasta with tomatoes, eggplant and ricotta, spaghetti and meatballs, pizza margarita and some burrata to share with prosciutto and tomatoes. Pasta was a bit salty, but good. The wine was great and it's priced very well compared to most places. They make a mean Aperol Spritz, as well! :) There is a BYOB option, and I think they have a Corking fee, but most of the big parties seemed to take advantage of the BYOB options. I'll definitely be back.

My favorite place to get Neapolitan pizza in NYC! Fresh taste and delicious options for everyone. A must!! Picture is old but I've been recently (Sept) & the outdoor dining is great.

Numero 28 has a few locations in NYC, but I did not feel as if I were walking into a boring chain restaurant. I felt like I was walking into an authentic pizza place in Italy. I started with the veal and pork meatballs. They were a little too tough for my liking, but the flavor was decent. Then I had the personal size Numero 28 Pizze (buffalo mozzarella, truffle cream and mushrooms). This was amazing...my 3 favorite pizza toppings in 1! I was feeling adventurous so I tried the raspberry crème brulee. This was not good at all. I'm not one to leave dessert, but I had 2 bites of this and I was done. The flavor combo just wasn't right. The pizza is on point, but everything else needs work.

I ordered takeout and literally received a pizza that was days old... The broccoli on the pizza was dark dark green and smelt really really bad. It was the worst pizza I have ever tasted. On the bright side, this place restored my faith in dominos. Never order takeout from here. You will NOT get a fresh pizza. The crust was good though.

I LOVE Numero 28!! The best place to go any day of the week!!!! The BEST pizza and pasta. Best staff and so friendly

This place really deserves 3.5* (get on it Yelp!) - cool interior with hip decor, comfy couches, high ceilings and good music. The staff is also extremely kind, patient and welcoming. We felt very well taken care of, from the way they encouraged us to take our time with the menu, to the tastes of wine we got before ordering glasses. But the pizza just isn't my fave, and that's what you come here for. We tried a medium pie, half broccoli and half reginella (like a margherita) - and don'tgetmewrong we devoured the entire thing, but I know other places in the neigborhood where the flavors come together better. Also would love to see more pies with ricotta on the menu. Anyways I'll probably be back, but more for the vibe than the grub.

Giving numero 28 3.5 stars. Walked in on a Thursday evening with a party of 3 around 745-8pm. All of the seating outside was taken but we were able to sit immediately inside. We ordered the bruschetta ai carciofi, a small white pizza with pepperoni, and a medium buffalo pie. Thought this was the perfect amount of food for 3 ppl! All of the food was awesome. Really amazing cheese and fresh ingredients all around. The tomatoes on the buffala and bruschetta were great. Knocking down some stars because the wine was absolutely awful. For a $12 glass of montepulciano, I expected a decent house pour but the wine tasted like juice and must have been opened for a while. It was horrible. I took a few sips and couldn't drink the rest. FYI it's a cash only spot and they have an ATM in the bathroom.

Yikes. This was a total disappointment. I ordered for delivery. I had a mushroom pizza with tomatoes - although most of it seemed to be missing. 1 slice didn't even have a mushroom on it. I've never seen such skimpy toppings before. We also ordered the arugula, prosciutto, and Buffalo mozzarella pizza - only it seemed there was no cheese. We had to look back at the menu to see if we misread about cheese being on it. It was terribly scarce. It seemed like the prosciutto was just thrown onto a previously cooked pizza. This was just awful. I'm really surprised too with all the good reviews. Maybe dining in is better? This is the 2nd time we've had issues. Won't be eating here again.

Numero (not so) gr8. Decent food, but service left a lot to be desired. Poor customer service by server Massimo. Inattentive, and quite condescending. Overall, do not recommend.

I can't say what I want to say because my girlfriend will kill me lol...the food was fine, the service terrible, the music just the worst. Imagine having a decent Italian meal in a club atmosphere with god awful service. You can only imagine what I want to say but like I said she'll kill me as she thinks I should give it another chance. Which I should but with so many amazing Italian restaurants in New York City, I don't see that in the happening.

Numero 28 serves authentic Neapolitan pizza. I went with the Pizza Rosse selection and chose the Diavola, topped with tomato, mozzarella, and spice sopressata pepperoni. This crust was cooked to perfection and this pizza was delicious! The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
