So good! Everything about this place was great. We had the medium Carbonara pizza and it was some of the best pizza I've ever had, if not the best. Everything was perfect. The medium was far larger than we expected, too. Ambience was perfect for anything from date night to business or family and friend gatherings. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend!

The pizza was cheesy without being pretentious and my drink was just the right amount of pour which I liked. The ambiance was cozy on an early Monday evening. Loved the experience!

This restaurant brings Italy to NYC! The wine was authentic from Italy and so delicious! The food did not disappoint either! We tried the Margherita pizza, squid pasta, and parmesan truffle pasta! They were all amazing 🤩 And we had a yummy dessert platter at the end! Definitely check this place out. Alessandro and the chef were so nice!!! 😊

Great neighborhood spot for sit down pizza. It is Italian pizza and to set expectations the pizza definitely some American flair. I love the flexibility in sizes and toppings so matter how hungry you sre. Overall the pizza, fresh and served piping hot. Salads are yummy too, didn't have room for pasta or dessert. Great pricing and friendly quick service for lunch. While the restaurant wasn't full on a early week lunch day, it nice to sit in an airy and large atmospheres with booth seating. Excellent for groups. We'll be back!!

Google
I'm confused. I got an 18 inch pizza for pickup. It's 18 inches in only one direction... Got a caesar salad too and it did not come dressed, and there was no dressing in the bag. Food wasn't ready on time and the man who helped me was quite rude. Total was 65 dollars including tax and tip for an "18-inch" pizza and an undressed salad. Makes sense why this place is empty 24/7.

Great pizza, pricey wine, atmosphere needs attention One pizza and 1 glass of wine with tip $60

This classic Italian restaurant at Numero28 has stolen my heart with its authentic Neapolitan Pizza , mouthwatering pasta and delightful appetizers. The commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients is evident in every bite. The table side cacio e Pepe and tiramisu is absolutely a game changers. The interactive preparation of cacio e Pepe adds a unique touch to the dining adventure. As for the tiramisu , it’s a masterpiece. Made with fresh coffee and luscious homemade cream, it’s the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal especially paired with Carbonara Pizza. Whether you’re planning an intimate date night or a lively gathering with friends, the Numero’s cozy ambiance and exceptional cuisine creates a haven for indulgence and connection. Featuring: 🍝Cacio e Pepe 🍕Carbonara 🍰Tiramisu

Yelp
Love this pizza place! The pizza here was super good, I'm a big fan of neopoletan style pizza and this place really hits the spot. The sauce has a strong basil taste when combined with the chunky tomatoes reminds me of summer. And it's a generous amount of sauce without making the pizza soggy. However, if this pizza were put in a box and delivered I imagine it would need to be heated in the oven, maybe on a pizza stone, to get the bottom crusty again. I plan to order delivery from here and find out. However, this type of pizza is best when eaten fresh in the restaurant so as to get a real taste for just how great it is. The restaurant itself was nice enough, lots of seating. The ambience doesn't really offer much, but it was nice seeing my pizza baked in the brick oven while I waited. Someone did mention that the server was eating their meal in front of customers and having a good time chatting with friends. I experienced this too but it did not take anything away from our experience. If anything, it was nice. The restuarant was not busy, and it seemed like there was definitely some down time. The service was great and our waiter was attentive of our needs. I did think it was strange that our server filled our water glasses to half full, but it was more of an interesting quirk and did not bother us.

Yelp
I had my order delivered (3rd party delivery service) and I couldn't believe that they didn't include any bread with the order. Prices are high and they can't include a couple of slices of bread! I got an eggplant parm that was $20 and it didn't come with a side of pasta or bread. Also it would have been nice if it was in a nicer container. I just didn't feel like cooking.Maybe going out to eat there would be different.

Emily U.

Yelp
Subpar experience. Food was good but the service and general atmosphere was strange. My plate that was already on the table when I was seated was dirty-- it had what looked like dried red sauce on it. Then I was given an incorrect salad that I did not order. Luckily my correct salad came five minutes later. The waiter was nice enough but not very attentive. He, the bartender, and another employee or friend were just sitting at the bar for a majority of the time eating food and drinking. It was a slow weeknight but I still found it strange that employees would be eating and drinking in front of customers while also attempting to serve them. Likely would not return.

Yelp
Folks, THIS is neopolitan pizza. This is not NY style. This is New Haven style. The BEST style. There is a reason they don't serve it by the slice. Pizza like this only takes 2 minutes to bake and it comes out crispy, yet chewy. You can't reheat it. You can't wait 30 min to eat it. Don't get this delivered. It's not the same. Come to Numero 28 and get NEW HAVEN STYLE PIZZA!!!

Cyrus A.

Yelp
For a quiet, local restaurant, Numero 28 definitely punched above its weight. The margherita pizza was made fresh just feet away from where we were seated, and it was great! It was Neapolitan style, and the crust came out of the oven with the right amount of crisp -- not overly doughy, but also not thin like a typical New York slice. The sauce was zesty, and the cheese tasted fresh. Ambiance was nice, it feels a bit like an old school Italian restaurant inside. Definitely warm and inviting, though it did feel like the utility closet was spilling into some of the dining area in the back. The lunch special was the real winner here. A personal Margherita pizza was definitely enough for one person with a healthy appetite, and it was only $12! Great deal for solid Neapolitan pizza. Service was good, one guy was running the entire floor during a slow lunch hour, and he was very friendly and helpful. All in all, a surprisingly good option for a lighter sit-down Italian meal, and a great value if you find yourself in the area for lunch!

Yelp
3.5/5 overall Ambiance 4/5 - Cozy, local pizza joint Service 3/5 - It was not busy, but unfortunately the waiter forgot the pasta order. Food 3.5/5 - Apps were good, but nothing special. Sadly the Cacio e Pepe was terrible and one bite was more than enough. I didn't even take a photo. The pizza, on the other hand, was excellent. I like that the dough is thicker & chewier than eg San Matteo (preference of course). Toppings were fresh. Come for pizza, but only the pizza.

Yelp
Friendly host. Friendly people in general. Weird policy - wouldn't put a topping on only half a shared pizza. It was arugula so not a hard thing to split up. It was FREEZING in the restaurant. The fried artichoke was good. The beet salad needed salt. The tomato sauce is so tinny from the can. I come from a family that owns Neapolitan pizzerias. Yeah this is a no. Big disappointment. New to the neighborhood so was hoping this would be our new spot. Not so much.

Toby L.

Yelp
Went with a small group, and we got a combination of pizza and pasta. I tried 2 of the pizzas, one with prosciutto and the other had carbonara style toppings. I loved the concept but both were incredibly salty. Service was ok, but took a while.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night with my wife and cousins. We had reservation and upon arrival we were seated immediately. Our waiter came over and told us about the menu and the restaurant, was very informative. There six of us and he helped us order the right amount of food. We started with 2 orders of Calamari Fritti, 2 orders of salads, Caesar salad and a Pere Salad. For dinner we had the 29" pizza, half Margherita, and half Salsiccia e broccoli rabe (TOMATO SAUCE, FIOR DI LATTE, SAUSAGE, BROCCOLI RABE). The Calamari was very good, salads were OK, but the pizza was awesome, and it was 29" long served on long wooded board. We finished everything, just enough like our waiter suggested. Throughout our entire meal there were several staff taking care of us, serving our food, filling our glasses of water and asking how we were doing. Excellent staff, they are courteous, polite and efficient. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Numero 28, you sneaky dough-flippers... Your pizza isn't the universe's best creation, but it's up there, after Wi-Fi and dog videos. I stroll in, pizza dreams soaring. Lo and behold, crispy crust that could moonlight as potato chips' backup. Cheese? Stretchier than my last yoga attempt. I had the Rustica pizza and sampled a slice of my friend's Diavola. Both divine. In a city of countless pizza options, Numero 28 is the friend with the good snacks at the party. Reliable, damn good pizza spot, you've got my vote. Hats off, Numero 28. You might not be the hero we deserve, but you're the hero we need... on indecisive nights.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
Incredible, 10/10. Manager was welcoming and super attentive- these guys are on the ball. Cheap beer and perfect pizza is what it's all about.

Yelp
Pros Charming restaurant Dim lit Not crowded Reasonable happy hour Tasty sangria Outside seating Accommodating staff Clean restaurants $10 lunch pizza special Reasonably priced for the area Cons None

Yelp
I ordered through Grubhub. The delivery came right on time - that was good. The salad was delicious and came in a nice container that you could eat from. However, the eggplant parm came in the small plastic deli container that you would use for one portion of wonton soup. The whole thing was just shmushed in there. You could not take it out of the container without massively wrecking it. Additionally it didn't come with a side of pasta -or even a slice of bread! I think I will stick with going there in person.

Yelp
They have special menu every week !! Happy hour as well !! Yummy food and drinks.. beers, wine and cocktails !!

Yelp
Looking for a great brunch in the city? Look no further because Numero 28 has your back! Here's what we ordered: ~Mimosa Tower. Yes, you read that right: a mimosa TOWER! Are you really brunching it without one? So go get a group of your closest pals and enjoy. ~Pizza carbonara- fior Di latte, pecorino Romano, pancetta, egg, black pepper. This pizza was absolutely delicious!! ~Nutella French toast- mascarpone cream and seasonal mixed berries. This French toast was thick and stuffed with delicious Nutella. It went so well with the creamy mascarpone and fresh berries. WARNING: MUST HAVE A SWEET TOOTH. ~3 egg omelette with mozzarella cheese and ham and served with salad and potatoes. This was so delicious and the potatoes were full of flavor! ~Lemon ricotta pancakes with seasonal mixed berries. Another great breakfast dish! Looking forward to grabbing dinner here because their brunch was so delicious! They have several locations, so make sure you go to one!

Yelp
Great Italian pizza and service, beautiful location, I've eaten at their original location in west village and this location was just as good. Thin & crispy, cheesy, juicy but crunchy, full of flavor, and generous amount of the toppings you choose. We ordered 2 personal pizzas (14" each) in two different flavors, San Daniele and número 28, both were great but the truffle won. I also had the mint chocolate ice cream for dessert and it was very good and a generous portion. Go for "personal" pizzas instead of the next size called "couples" that is 18" because all personal are around $20 14" and 6 slices and couples are about $40 for 18" and I think 8 slices, so with the personal you would get more pizza for the same price. I hope they don't increase the price because of my review, lol. They also have some pastas in their menu and small appetizers, will try those next time. Great selection of wine. Would definitely be coming back and would recommend anyone to try.

Nichollette V.

Yelp
The food is AMAZING! We ordered the Fried Calamari, pasta with truffle, mushroom and speck, and the penne vodka. All were absolutely delicious!!!! The drinks on the other hand weren't too exciting. Honestly I wish we had just ordered wine, because the wine selection looked great. We tried both the red and white sangria and it was basically like they pours us a glass of house wine and threw a scoop of fruit in and topped it with seltzer. Definitely not the sangria we were looking for. All together we loved the ambiance, food, and the server was super sweet and wonderful.

Yelp
3.5 stars - this was all about pizza. Spent time searching articles on authentic Neapolitan pizza in NYC. Had been to many of the top names but wasn't familiar with Numero 28 and their UES location was convenient. In fairness, when it comes to pizza, A LOT of the experience depends on the hands of the pizzaiolo you get on any given day. This night the pizza was more Roman than Neapolitan, with a thin very crisp crust (almost no give). They have Peroni on tap and Menabrea bionda in bottles (both Italian) so we were pleased, enjoying our beers and we did enjoy the pizza. Size of the personal pizzas and proportion of the toppings was on point, quality of everything was good, fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and the pizza arrived quickly (we really required very little attention). Incidentally we did not observe one Italian among the crew. Nothing special about the decor, location is kind of classic NYC, could be considered intimate as it is on the dark side. They have room for larger groups in back. Two beers at $9 each, two pizzas avg $23 each, 70 before tip. I'd call it a nice neighborhood spot for pizza/Italian, not for a pilgrimage.

Lily M.

Yelp
Randomly stopped in early on a Friday evening when we were looking for a close to home place to eat. The outdoor seating section is decorated with florals and looks cute! The inside also has nice decor with fairy and bistro lights and an Italian theme with wine bottles on the wall in the back room. The servers were very attentive. The pasta boschetto came out quickly which was appreciated as we were starving. The was so rich and delicious! We also got the 4 cheese and Parmesan pizza. We got the medium size and it came out as a long pizza (not a pie) which I wasn't expecting. It also had great flavors and has been great leftovers. Next we want to come back to try their brunch menu!

Jaimee A.

Yelp
We have ordered from Numero 28 a few times and it is pretty good. The pizzas are tasty but I still prefer San Matteo's. The rice balls are good and the fried artichokes are great! Like really great. I do like that you get coupons from Seamless when you order through them.

Meghna S.

Yelp
Super delightful.. what a wonderful experience at this absolutely underrated gem of a spot. It's a cute place with warm and cozy vibe, live jazz music and well lit up, giving a very christmasy feel. 3 of my 5 stars just go to Marianna (I hope I got the spelling correct) who single handledly managed our table of six exceptionally well. She was so friendly, accomodative to all our requests and caring throughout. It's refreshing to see such superior level of customer service and commitment in a city where a lot of servers act entitled and uninterested. They serve basic and authentic Italian food with no frills and we enjoyed everything we got. Carciofi salad with artichokes, arugula and shaved Parmesan. Simple and delicious. One rarely goes wrong with penne arrabiata. Their pizza portions are huge so I recommend you order 14 inches for a group of six, if ordering more than one. Loved the basic pizza margherita but winner of the evening was Romeo pizza with mozarella, prosciutto and truffles cream. Delicious soft texture and warm truffle cream melting in your mouth. I'm not a pizza fan but I could eat this one regularly. For drinks we ordered a bottle of Barolo but didn't like the taste and they were kind enough to take it back, we finally settled for a montepulciano. It was our friend's bday and the restaurant made our evening special by getting him a bday dessert with sparklers and music. We were treated so well throughout the evening and left as happy customers. At such places you don't mind tipping generously to encourage continued high quality of service. I would definitely go back here anytime.

Emily C.

Yelp
This pizza here is delightful! I absolutely love the thin crust style they have. We came here as a group of 11 for a celebration and ordered a number of appetizers, pizzas, and pasta dishes to share, family-style. There were plenty of meatless options for the vegetarian in our group. Food: The bresaola pizza and the tagliolini alla bolognese were my favorites! Chicken parmigiana is always a classic, and it was indeed a very solid dish here. The only thing I wouldn't get again was the cavatelli al pesto genovese. Although very colorful, I felt that it lacked complexity of flavor compared to the other entrees and was too oily. Overall, service was very good. Our waitress stopped by multiple times during our meal to make sure everything was running smoothly, and our empty water bottles were promptly replaced. The vibe here is very homey and romantic. It's a good place for a date or for a group of friends, if you want to order a bunch of food and share!

Joanne Z.

Yelp
It was a delightful dining experience at UES. We were warmly greeted by Alessandro, the Italian/Albanian manager, at the door and seated by the wall. The chef personally came out to recommend some ideal dishes, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. Throughout our meal, Alessandro's attentiveness and helpfulness enhanced the overall dining experience.

Jacob K.

Yelp
Very excellent pizza. Many places to find a good classic NY slice, harder to find a good thinner Neapolitan pizza. This place nails the latter. Perfectly thin, great chew/crisp to the crust/dough, tasty sauce, just delicious. Definitely on the pricier side as a side note and they charge somewhat exorbitant prices for simple toppings. But awesome pizza.

Christina M.

Yelp
Order via delivery the numero 28 and margherita pizza. Both were delicious however my favorite is the numero 28. I only wish they added more truffle sauce to the pizza!

Andrea S.

Yelp
TERRIBLE delivery order! Fried zucchini wet and soggy, eggplant parm squashed into circular pint container looked like blob of red mush. Inedible. Tried to call restaurant 3 times and got message that said voicemail not set up. Worst order in ever in NYC. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Roni D.

Yelp
Simply put, we were seated at the worst table ( right next to the pickup window for the kitchen) while the rest of the restaurant remained virtually empty. We saw that there were a handful of reservations listed on the computer screen when we walked in, so the explanation that their tables were reserved wasn't accurate. We've been dining at this restaurant ever since they opened years ago, but after last night, I'm not sure how quickly I'll return. I've been generous with the stars because their gluten free pizza is good. Maybe I'll do takeout.

Kristina C.

Yelp
Did my husbands birthday their today and it was absolutely amazing. The ambiance and the food was absolutely incredible. The chef was straight from Italy and through the food you can tell the authenticity. He was great! The service was amazing. And Alessandro was very attentive and helpful and super polite. Going back next week for my birthday!

Sabrina P.

Yelp
Really liked the heater situation they had for the outdoor seating! Especially for us where we got a table near the entrance of the restaurant during a very cold winter NYC night. I got the pepperoni pizza and the food was really delicious! Nice selection/variety of pizzas to choose from and I really enjoyed my time here.

Katherine B.

Yelp
I found the true taste of Italy on the UES! The pizza was a delicious journey to Naples. They also have a gluten free pizza option too! The staff's warm hospitality made my date and my feel right at home, and the 50% happy hour deal made it even better! Beers were basically $4 each, that's a steal nowadays. Also the cannoli were fresh and possibly the best I've ever had. For an authentic Italian experience in a welcoming environment, Numero 28 is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Lisa S.

Yelp
The pizza is always delicious! Thin crust on a long board. The Carciofi salad is not to be missed! They also have a nice selection of wines to enjoy with dinner. The prices are very reasonable even in these inflation times. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the ambience is cozy and fun.

Mohammed U.

Yelp
Amazing chefs choice of pasta recommended by the manager Alessandro. The place was nice with a great music in the background staff was so friendly. I love it would be back again soon

Beverly A.

Yelp
Great meal, great service. My friends and I were all very pleased with our meals. Each of us has spent some time in Italy and felt that the food was very authentic. Delicious! And each of the staff people treated us like royalty. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!

Susie W.

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for pizza to go, and we arrived as the restaurant was waiting for one enormous party that was all set in a long table. When we decided that we wanted to have a drink while we waited, they were very accommodating, placing us at the end of the large table knowing that we would come and go before their party arrived. We appreciated their flexibility. For a drink I had the Donatella cocktail, which was delicious. Our pizzas came quickly and we walked home where we very much enjoyed eating them. Mine, pictured here, was the white pizza with pear, walnut and Gorgonzola -- delicious.

Danielle H.

Yelp
Had a large party here for brunch (9 people) Sunday and the service was amazing! Couldn't find a single bad thing to say about this place if I wanted to. They were able to accommodate my request for a seating on the patio and even let me push it a half hour later when I saw members of my party were running behind. We did bottomless brunch and it was an awesome experience! The towers worked perfectly since we were such a large party and they let us change up what we got (Prosecco, Bellini, sangria...). We also definitely felt like we ran over our alloted hour but they were kind enough to keep serving us as we ordered more food. Everyone LOVED their dishes, I myself got a delicious personal pizza. The decor and atmosphere of the patio is a huge added plus too. The servers were all so friendly and made it a great experience. Will definitely be coming back!

Margo S.

Yelp
My name is Margo. I played music with my band at Numer 28. We really loved to play there!!! and pizza is amazing!!! I think the best in NYC!!!!!!

Ofelia E.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night and they had plenty of outdoor tables available, the area is well heated so I was pretty comfortable in my jacket the entire night. Unfortunately their pizza was only okay. We got margherita pizzas and although they were good there was nothing too exceptional about the flavor or texture. Ended up paying over $70 for 2 small pizzas and 2 drinks, definitely not worth it.

Marines M.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood place that is totally worthwhile stopping by when visiting the UES. What I've had ... Ceasar Salad with Chicken ... pretty good salad. the dressing was really good. However, the chicken was somewhat dry and too much for a sale topping. Will definitely be ordering again, but no chicken next time. Tagliolini ala Bolognese ... amazing, home made tasting pasta and sauce. While I normally come for the pizza, the pasta is also an incredibly good option. Pizza San Daniele ... awesome choice!!! I love the dough from this place. It's thin yet crispy and perfectly balanced with the toppings. This applies of course to other pizza reviews I have. Pizza Capricciosa ... another great choice!!! Nothing else to comment other than it's must try. Service is really good.  It's really like being in a warm, friendly, family restaurant. All servers and host(esses) make you feel very welcome and have always been incredibly attentive. Ambiance ... not fancy, but a good neighborhood feel. The indoors is a bit dark for my taste, but now that they have the outdoor set up it's always my pick.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
The short: a perfect perfect perfect spot to come with a group of friends if you're looking for a fun, affordable dinner. It's BYOB with a small corking fee - so you can bring/crush your own bottles. The longer: we came on a Friday night. They take reservations. We were a big group of about 9 people. We brought our drinks, and shared a bunch of salads and pizza and additional appetizers. We loved the meatballs and calamari. The salads were delicious, but really - the pizzas are amazing. They're HUGE and perfect for sharing with a big group. The staff are all really kind, and they stayed open late, so we were able to hang and drink wine pretty late before heading to the bars. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Perhaps it is my fault for ordering Italian food as I have not one, not two but three villas in Portofino, but I wouldn't allow any of my inner (or outer) circle to patron this establishment. As a man of humble upbringings in Calabria, I am somewhat of subject matter expert ('SME') on cuisine from this fine region, so let me explain in greater detail. Caesar Salad - I won't lie. I am impressed at how bad this salad was. If I were to hire some of the homeless plodding around the upper east side to ruffle through trash cans looking for wilted three day old lettuce, it still would be better than this salad. Once again, impressive. Expect a call from my Quality Assurance manager (Giuseppe - based in Lake Como) for guidance. Cacio e Pepe - What impressed me the most about this 'dish' was the fact that they put the least amount of effort possible in its creation. No Olive Oil, No Egg, No Parmesan Cheese. What did it have? Pepper. Let me repeat that...PEPPER. I think they got a discount on a shipping container full of pepper with the chef then consuming 15 shots of Limoncello before rifling 4 fists full of pepper (for 1 serving) onto said pasta. Interesting culinary technique but it missed the mark. "Pizza" - I have a cousin named Jiovanni from Boston who has only 9 fingers. What does his lack of 10 fingers have to do with this story??? Everything! When Jiovanni was growing up in the 1980's he would send me birthday party pictures making pizza with his fellow 6 year olds at a magical place called "Papa Gino's". I, as a cultured Italian (and only 6 at the time myself) thought, "wow, those pizzas legit look terrible!" - My Nonna would then slap me across my face for speaking down at the pizza that Jiovanni had created. I then overheard her telling her Nonna (we had kids very young in that part of Italy) - "I agree with him...Jiovanni's pizzas at Il Papa Gino's looks terrible but I want him to show some respect to Jivoanni and his finger handicap." Where was I going with that story, you ask? I would have rather had 9 finger Jiovanni's Papa Gino's pizza (circa 1988) that was shaped like a rhombus than what was served tonight. My Nonna (and Nonna's Nonna) would agree. Nice Waitresses.

Yelp
I had an experience with the rudest delivery from this place. He called a 6:45 to say he was here. I told him id be down in a minute and he literally called me 80 seconds later, i have the phone log, to tell me to hurry up. Just to be clear he was from the establishment not seamless. The food is perfectly fine. But there are plenty of places in the area that are fine and their staff is nicer. ZGo there. Arturo's is great.

Allie L.

Yelp
LOVE this place! I've done both take out and dine in and would highly recommend for either. I haven't done their outdoor dining since reopening yet, but seems like a really nice place to sit and well spread out. Onto the food - the pizzas are amazing. I love the thin crust and how you can get different toppings on parts of the pizza depending what size you get. We've gotten the large with three different types of their specialty pizzas and it's huge! So good though and makes great leftovers. The wine selection is great as well. Service is also incredible. All of the servers are incredibly attentive and overall it is a well run restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a casual dinner with friends, date night or for good takeout food.

Yelp
This pizza was pretty good! We ordered it for pickup on Seamless app (they had a big coupon...check it out!). It wasn't technically ready on time but the wait wasn't bad and it was hot & fresh out of the oven. I personally prefer San Matteo for Napoletana pizza but this pizza was still good! It's a crispier crust vs. the soft crust at San Matteo. I would definitely recommend a visit here because you may prefer this type more than I did :) the staff was nice as well!

Yelp
Let me start off by saying don't come here for anything else but the pizza. Ordered cacio e Pepe, extremely watery and bland. I was basically Eating pasta with water. However, this is a pizzeria so I'm the jackass here. That being said the pizza was very solid, 8/10. Great crust and the sauce was the perfect tang and sweet. We got the margherita and pepperoni and it was phenomenal. Will be returning for the pizza.

Yelp
This place was wonderful during the pandemic but has gone downhill since. The last two times I went, I left without ordering anything. The restaurant was very empty both times, but no one would take my order. I tried to get the employees' attention, but they would say someone else would come by, they would be with me shortly, or just ignore me. After waiting 10+ minutes trying to order when the restaurant was not at all busy, I left. One other time recently, I ordered a cocktail, and it was only about half full (their cocktail glasses are not big). When I asked the server for a full glass, he brought the bartender who said that was their full pour and that's how much other places pour, which was just not true. The food here is decent but not amazing. The service from my last few visits were bad. I used to go here often since I live on the same block, but I probably will not be returning. I will instead go to John's for pasta and Joe & Pat's for pizza.

Yelp
For all Italian food lovers (like myself), Numero 28 is the place to eat. The food is delicious, and most of the ingredients are freshly imported from Italy. Staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean and well organized. My favorite pizza is the D.O.C with prosciutto. Burrata, the polpette, and the beef are very very good. I highly recommend the place.

Yelp
Cute Italian place that is dark even in mid day! The menu has Italian dishes and pasta but the specialty here is really the pizza. I was here with my Mom and sister. We shared an Family sized Avocado Salad and a Pizza. The salad was good. It has very fresh greens, walnuts, cherry tomatoes, and was perfectly dressed. Unfortunately, the salad only a few thin slices of avocado on the top. Our pizza choice was the San Daniele: Tomato Sauce, , Mozzarella, Arugula, & Prosciutto. Very good pizza! The medium was huge with an oval shape and a very thin crust. There was a nice amount of sauce and cheese. The prosciutto was high quality and the arugula was fresh. It was Marathon Day on 1st Avenue so the place was packed. Still the service was polite and pretty quick. I did not use my check in offer of a free glass of wine this time but I would not hesitate to return and use it.

Yelp
The best. The Rustica pizza is my favorite. The crust is thin and the edges are crunchy and flavorful. Delizioso!
