This has to be the best shop in town. We were lucky enough to get steered this way by our hotel hostess. It's sort of hidden away from other restaurants and looks like a big house rather than a restaurant. You enter through this large back garden with lots of outdoor seating (though we didn't sit inside, I saw the interior and it was quite stylish yet welcoming). This place definitely has a more upscale feel than most other Avignon establishments. The staff speak English and are very friendly and helpful. The menu is simple. They offer a few starters, entrees, and deserts Which you get for a fixed price. The meal was kicked off with a great amuse bouche of sundries tomato crostini and a light asparagus cream soup. Delicious. True to Provence form, No. 75 has great seafood options that we both selected. I got the soupe de poisson with red mullet fillet. It was spectacular. The soup was very rich and flavorful, and the mullet was perfectly cooked with a crisp skin. For the plat, i got the mixed seafood grill, which had a white fish, calamari, shrimp, and clams over grilled vegetables. Wow is all I can say. The seafood, the vegetables, all so simply yet artfully prepared. The flavor was incredible. Now what they say about portion size is generally true... In France you tend to see smaller portions than in the US. But I really wished the seafood plate had been available in supersize. Finally shared the creme brûlée and had espresso for dessert to top off a wonderful experience that I had imagined when I envisioned Provence.
