"After temporarily closing to retool the menu, Nur is back open on Buford Highway, and it’s now Atlanta Kashruth Commission certified. Centering on dishes from around the Mediterranean region, look for Moroccan bourekas, falafel, hummus plates with freshly baked pita, and eggplant carpaccio to start, followed by entrees of whole fish, kofta kababs, and even juicy burgers. The family meal at Nur comes with shawarma, chicken pargiyot, schnitzel, falafel, rice, and a variety of sides and feeds up to four people. Kosher." - Eater Staff

Absolutely fantastic, service was lovely, the food was excellent. My family and I will definitely be back! Calamari was fresh, the batter was just right and kept the dish light and clean. My sister had the veggie pita and ate it in it's entirety. The Roasted Cauliflower was unexpectedly unique, especially for a vegetable that is often treated with little love. (Unfortunately the only thing I didn't get a picture of.) Our entree was a bed of crispy orzo with roasted rainbow carrots and fennel, and when I say fennel I mean used in its glorious entirety, root to blossom. The protein was delicately pan fried sardine filets. We were surprised by the chef with a lovely little plate, with a perfectly mid rare steak, charred scallion, a mango based sauce I completely missed the name of, and silky mashed potato. We were sent home with tiny perfect baklava bites.

I went there for lunch. The food was mediocre compared to the price they charge. Chicken shawarma was very bland and no flavor at all. The fries probably was the saving grace. Turkish coffee was decent as well. I personally would give it 2 stars, but added 1 extra for the service. Lot of better Mediterranean restaurants out there which has more flavorful food without breaking the bank

This place is awesome! If you like food/Mediterranean food, make sure you visit this place. Food is fantastic, close to what you see on food shows from tv chefs. Even their simple dish packs unforgettable flavor and texture combinations. It's a farm-to-table concept where you can taste the quality and freshness and enjoy the food without feeling guilty/heavy. I will visit this place often 👍🏼

Not your usual Mediterranean food but exceptional. Our Server Ethan was very personable and inspite of being super busy made sure to give personal attention to each table. We found out that the cook has been to several Mediterranean countries and that reflects on his food. We are vegetarian and this place has a ton of options for us. Cool ambience, great food👌👌

This is definitely a hidden gem! Found it on Yelp while exploring food options in Buford Hwy. I was skeptical when I saw the 5 star rating, but here I am giving it 5 stars. The food was delicious! We tried the salad, babaghanouj, hummus, couscous, ash-polo rice, falafel and the Libyan fish stew. Everything was excellent. The chef kindly made a vegan version of the couscous to accommodate my diet while my gf indulged her fish stew. The service was perfect. The waiter was attentive, courteous, and with a great attitude. Will definitely be back, many more times.

Absolutely enjoyed my dining experience!!! The food was awesome! I started with the Limonana which is fresh lemonade and mint slushie! So yummy!! The schnitzel with mashed potatoes and grilled mixed veggies as my main course was amazing! We shared a israeli salad which was top notch. My friend ordered the steak that he loved so much. We ended with tea with mint, coffee and baklava. Shirel was so helpful explaining the menu to us and making us feel at home. I will definitely be going back!

Our meal here was modest at best. We tried several dishes including the roasted cauliflower, the veggie platter, fried mussels, fries and the bulghur salad (replacement for the ordered freeka). It's not easy replicating authentic flavours but the dishes were a little bland and lacked that oomph factor. I mean why would you serve halloumi cheese with some sweet sauce?! I think what I loved the most were the pitas.

TL/DR: Food was good, but on the pricey side. Service was terrible. We had a party of 4 at 6:45 pm on a Saturday. We didn’t have reservations. I guess the move is to make reservations. There are only 9 tables in the whole restaurant and there were a few open, but apparently all were reserved. So we sat outside, which we wouldn’t recommend because the tables outside are not meant for eating on. We were not a priority and were forgotten about. It took forever to get a menu and to get our food. We ordered the Roasted Cauliflower as an appetizer, but it still hadn’t come even after we got our food, so we canceled it. My meal came out a solid 15-20 minutes before everyone else’s meal. The whole ordeal took 2 hours. I could go on about the terrible service, but I understand they’re short-staffed (they had a sign posted that they were hiring for 4 positions), so I’ll give them a break for that. The owner was apologetic and gave us free baklava, which was nice. They really have to do better though. Here’s what we got: - Hummus Falafel ($14): Falafel was good, but only came with 3 falafel balls. Definitely needed more, especially for the price. - Shawarma Platter ($20): It came with a good amount of food, but $20 feels like a lot for this. The meat was so good, perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. We tried it with fries and rice, and the fries were the better of the two. - Lamb Burger ($16): I didn’t try it, but was told it was tasty. The food was really good. But we won’t be back to dine in for a long time while they get their act together. We would try takeout though.
