If you’re in North McAllen and looking for a place to eat, stop what you’re doing and just come here. I haven’t tried a whole lot of menu items, but the kimchi rice and Brussel sprouts are phenomenal. I ordered the rice with ribeye whereas my girlfriend got the Korean karnitas. I think the beef’s a lot better than the pork options here; might have to try the other proteins to be certain beef’s best. If you go off of cartoons or movies, Brussel sprouts might not be very appetizing. But if you go off Nuri’s fried brussels, they’re the best appetizer to start a meal with. They’re a (presumably) healthier alternative to fries or other appetizers on the menu. Since proteins are optional and there’s the choice of tofu, this place is great for vegetarians. Or if you’re like me, go with a vegetarian family member and ask them for their protein! 😋 Overall, I think this might be the best restaurant on the Trenton/10th area of McAllen in my opinion. Perfect for a casual hang out, quick meal, or even an affordable date lunch/dinner.

Google
What a cool spot! This place blends the best parts of Asian food and Mexican food seamlessly. The staff had great recommendations, and the handcrafted cocktails are not to be missed. Looking forward to visiting again!

This place had great tacos 🌮 😋! Now I didn't get a good look at the menu behind the counter (my gf forgot her glasses, so I just ordered the 1st 5 tacos on the list for us 😅), but it all sounded amazing 👏 😋. I'm looking forward to trying the rice bowls next time! 2nd visit : The tacos were still great 👍 but they did arrive to the table lukewarm warm at best, so idk how fresh everything was 🤨.

Google
The staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked them questions about their food concerning my shellfish and seafood allergies. The food was delicious and came out quickly. I'd highly recommend this place for a quick bite.

Went in for the first time and asked for a recommendation, the cashier recommended the kimichi fries! I got it with the grilled chicken and ribeye. It did not disappoint. It was a lot compared to what I was expecting since I’d be eating it alone. They are very generous with their portions here for sure!

Google
First time eating at this location. The workers were very nice and helpful for a person visiting for the first time. They shared the specials they offer. Some of the food is expensive, but not any more than other places. They have a great combo deal (2 takos, a Nuria & carnitas, and a drink). We tried the kimchi fries with a protein, Bacon J Bombs, Goyoz, Fried Avocado Buns, Kid’s Meal and Elote in a Cup. Their soda fountain was different with great unique flavors. We will be back, thank you for a great experience!

Google
Nice place and experience, around $15 per person for a bowl with Ribeye meat and an egg, fried rice, veggies and a coke. I will definitely return as it was tasty.

Google
Our 3rd time here and definitely got to say it’s taste better each time. Very well balance in flavors and very filling. They got some Taco Tuesday deals definitely worth trying the next time we visit. Orderd the Shrimp tacos, the one with the fried chicken tender, pork belly baos, and ribeye kimchi fries. All definitely delicious. That red salsa!!! Yeh definitely ask for it…spicy and great flavor.

Yelp
Food is amazing. I've tried all the tacos and all of them are great. El Bandido and Uptown Funk are my favorite. Salsas are great. The serrano one is flavorful and very spicy. Their bowls are also very good. Service is always great. Staff is composed of young people who are always kind and friendly. I like the fact that the restaurant's website lets you order in advance for you to come and pick it up. The place has a nice atmosphere. It has a great look with the modern decoration.

Yelp
Last time I come here was told by the individual who messed up my order that that I messed up cause she read back the order granted I walked away when she recited it. When I kindly informed them of this the at front who took my order came back to my table and blamed me for the issue like I was trying to get free food I advised she could take the plate she advised it was no worries as she was going to throw the plate away anyway when she came back to my table with the correct order she grabbed the plate from me and replaced it horrible service please get her trained asap last time I will be wasting my money here And to top it off the individual involved laughed it off with the manager if you'd like to be disrespected by untrained staff this is your place.

Yelp
Taco Tuesday Bistek plate is amazing. And the frozen margarita is out of this world good.

Yelp
This place was cool to try. I love when the staff is patient with new customers. The employee that helped us took his time with explaining the menu and recommended we try the bowls. We went with his recommendation and we loved the food. I deducted a star because when I used their restroom the soap smelled like dish soap. And maybe that's not a big deal to anyone else, but it is to me. Casual vibe in the restaurant.
google avatar

Martin T.

Yelp
Best Asian fusion place I have been to. The bistek mini tacos were very delicious. Lacked the avocado and queso fresco. Still good. The Korean karnitas were sweet and tangy. Pork very tender. The crunch from the coleslaw was a perfect blend! The gyozas (mandu or fried dumplings) were crunchy, sweet and the pork on the inside was very flavorful. I would highly recommend this appetizer There were so many different options. I also got me the chicken and fish tacos, very good as well. I was very surprised at all the different options and all the different dishes that I want to come back for

Yelp
I'm usually weary of fusion foods, just because I'm a purist and I leave disappointed most of the time, but Nuri proved me wrong. They offer a great blend of Mexican and Korean. Friendly staff who helped walk us through their menu. We tried the Nuri tako, pork belly bao and Nuri frites with carnitas. The bao was amazing. A bit messy, but I'm not mad about it. The dough was perfect and fluffy. Well cooked pork belly. The sauces hit just right. The Nuri tako was fantastic!! The grilled meat we tender and moist. Not chewy. The sauces were amazing. The Nuri frite was bomb! I could've ordered that and been content. The kimchi was delicious, especially on the fries. It didn't even need the protein. The fries could be crisper to combat all the sauces, but doesn't take anything away from it right now. Another cool thing is they made their own sodas! I had a black Cherry. It was quite yummy.

Yelp
We Enjoyed our dinner. We ordered a chicken rice bowl, street corn and a Nuri taco. Food was good as all ways. Staff was nice and friendly. Food came out quickly. Restaurant had a nice feel it would be a good place to hang out with friends for beers and food.

Yelp
Fantastic fusion food with a great selection of tacos and soft drinks. Austin atmosphere as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice girl named Teresa was great with suggestions since it was first time eating there. The tacos were packed with flavor and the kimchi fried rice with ribeye was awesome! Love the vibe in the restaurant. The craft sodas were a nice touch. Will be back with family and friends.

Yelp
Food and Service was good. Portions could have been better for the price. Desert was excellent. Good and friendly environment.

Yelp
Delicious! Rice bowls were perfect. The chicken was good and the Korean Carnitas was more like pork belly a little too much fat for my taste but man the flavor is all there, steak would be the better option. You have to have your bowls with an egg to tie all the flavor in together. They prep the egg sunny side up, very runny on top but if you ask them they will cook it from on both sides to perfection. I definitely recommend you coming to this place. I'll be coming back for sure.
google avatar

Priscilla L.

Yelp
The food was great! I love how it's different than the average tacos here in the valley and adds diversity. I had the buns!

Melinda G.

Yelp
Food is unique and tailored to the valley's taste! You can't find anything like it, their Nuro Taco is delicious (though for a meal you need 2). I recommend The Yard Bird Tako- it filling and compacted with flavor. Must have side to share are their kimchi rice or fries, both are sooo good! The service is great and fast, and it's a great environment to eat in. Nuri is on the pricier side, but at least you know it's going to be good
google avatar

Hope H.

Yelp
I am in town visiting and was recommended this place by a local. I loved my first experience so much, I came back again! The Nuri Tako is extremely flavorful and crispy. I love that they melt the cheese so the tortilla doesn't get soggy. The service was fast and friendly! Overall, the ambiance is welcoming, vibrant, and cool. Would definitely come again!

Yelp
Check the menu online. It's full of descriptions. Host is also very helpful in describing menu. We had the dumplings, taco with pork belly and taco with fajita meat. Everything was flavorful. Best option in the 10th and Trenton shopping area. Also a nice selection of 5x5 beers

Ayssa M.

Yelp
Nuri has the best food! The service was quick and the staff was friendly. If you don't know what to order, they will help you out. Will definitely be going back!

Yelp
First time coming here, had lunch with my wife and all I gotta say dammm the food was freaking great. The tacos and the buns were super delicious. This will be our lunch spot for now on.
google avatar

Yelp
The best food I've had in days. Awesome in all respects. I had the special with fried chicken. Amazing. The extra cup of spicy sauce is really spice. Friend got Brussels sprouts. She loved it. And the side of quacamole and chips was yummy. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I'd come back any day.
google avatar

Yelp
I've never even heard of this place until a couple of days ago after seeing it on Yelp! Apparently they have been there for a couple years now, but better late than never to have found it! It was so delicious and plan on going back as often as we can to try everything on the menu! Lots of options to choose from and even for vegetarians. Everything was great. They also have locally brewed beer to serve.

Yelp
I'm happy to see more Asian food in McAllen. I'm always open to fusion as well. This place has good menu options. However, like many restaurants in McAllen, it's too salty and there's way too much sauce. I think your flavors are great, but it needs the right balance. For example, the Brussels sprouts were drenched in sauce, so you couldn't taste the crispy texture it's supposed to have. The bulgogi tacos were okay. The bulgogi wasn't marinated with proper bulgogi marinade. And the toppings didn't blend in taste to create a cohesive dish. In terms of service, the staff are very kind. The interior is very cool and clean. I'd be more than happy to try this place again.
google avatar

Sandra R.

Yelp
Too salty. I ordered the Kimchi Frites with Pork Belly, and the veggies came through! Fresh onion, slaw and cilantro! The only issue I had was it was way too salty, and the fries soaked up the salt. Usually it takes salt away. I'm not sure if I'll order this again, but I will try a tako next time. Maybe this batch was too salty? Let's hope. I'll try one more time. Always give a restaurant a second chance. :) One nice thing is that Nuri's has outdoor seating! They are also keeping Covid 19 policies in place: masks required, social distancing and hand sanitizer offered also. Friendly staff! Much appreciated!

PJ G.

Yelp
Nice trendy restaurant. Love the queso, the yard bird taco, and their fresh lemonade. Service is quick and thorough.

Alaniz C.

Yelp
Amazing food!! My go to is the poblano tacos. Soooo delicious!! I also appreciate the service!
google avatar

Juvie C.

Yelp
The customer service was great when I visited. They were welcoming and someone was always checking on me. They were open earlier than 4pm unlike other Korean places in McAllen. I have never had a Mexican Korean fusion, but it was a nice first time. I think I still prefer straight up Korean, tho. The kimchee was a bit too salty and they used ribeye for my bulgari which was too fatty IMO. Service was fast and parking ample.
google avatar

Estefany V.

Yelp
Delicious restaurant! Great mixture of Korean food and Mexican food. Everything on the menu is delicious! From their tacos to their Nuri Frites! My favorite item on the menu are their frites, they are delicious! Fries with kimchi and your choice of protein. Delicious! Staff is very friendly also, with the restaurant manager ensuring you are content with your food. I always come here and will continue to do so. Food is delicious and service is fantastic!

Yelp
Guys, please add more photos!! I had a really hard time ordering because I didn't know what i was ordering. Fusion in the 956 is new and alot of your potential customers are intimidated and overwhelmed by all the texts in your menu..food was good..I want to try new things but I get anxiety looking at the menu
google avatar

Tony I.

Yelp
Drive by this place all the time and decided to give it a shot since both my wife and I enjoy eating Korean food. We've had Korean-Mexican fusion food before and it's always interesting to see how creative restaurants like this get. We both ordered a rice bowl, one with tofu and one with veggies. I had the one with veggies and brown rice. The portion is large, enough to get full. It came with a generous serving of sautéed veggies and was tossed with a soy/teriyaki/sesame(?) sauce blend. For a veggie bowl it was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The interior is really nice and spacious. Plenty of seating. Imported Asian beers are available. The menu can be a little difficult to navigate as the text doesn't flow well with all the colons used. An additional note on that, this kind of experience may be very new to people in the valley, so more photos may be helpful.

Ruby H.

Yelp
Something different in a good way. They also have the nice fizz like the ikea store on the beverages so that was a big plus. I had the catfish taco and it was very good and well portion. I was not impressed on the avocado taco though, it just needed a little more flavor. I also ordered some French fries with kimchi and they were delish! Even though you order food and then sit, staff still comes and checks on you. Place is very cute and cozy!
google avatar

Bill C.

Yelp
Nuri was surprisingly good. Asian fusion can be hot-or-miss depending on how much Asian and how much fusion. I would say Nuri is more Asian-inspired--actually Korean-inspired--than it is fusion. (Being Korean, I had my doubts.) One look at the menu and it is clear that the food is definitely not Asian: takos, fries, not quite Korean. I ordered a Korean Carnitas tako, split the bulgogi bun, and my party split a Kimchi frites. Everything tastes as good as I wanted it to taste. The carnitas was kind of a pork belly meat with Korean seasoning. The bulgogi was done well but just in a bun. The fries were great! More and more places are using kimchi as a topping and I might have to start doing that myself. I would definitely go back.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Started with chips and nuri queso, flavor was phenomenal, wish it was just a TAD warmer but totally amazing! pork belly frites and bao buns were full of flavor and freshness. We had NEVER visited because never thought we would love it this much! All the flavors and crunch were so so good! Definitely a must try and will be visiting again

Yelp
This restaurant has been open for a little over a year. And it still clean! The menu was simple but delicious and worth a trip to north McAllen. For a small restaurant with limited me y, the have a great selection of beers. A great after work hangout place, or in between meals.
google avatar

Stephany C.

Yelp
Had been wanting to come here for a while ever since I had tried the tacos when they had the food truck. I was looking forward to eating here but was not that impressed. I feel that they lost flavor and presentation once they opened a restaurant. It is a bit pricey for what they are. If you have never been here it is fine to try something different than the typical tacos that everyone else has. I ordered a stuffed jalapeno in which I got half of a half very disappointed and to top it of EXPENSIVE. This retsurant is not one that i can really crave and say let me go spend more than $5 dlls on just one taco.
google avatar

Erick G.

Yelp
Went a second time... got their tacos. I didn't think they were that good and thought they were kind of overpriced.
google avatar

Steffi H.

Yelp
I really really loved Nuri. It was on the pricey side, but I found the food to be really delicious, very unique for RGV, and totally worth it! The restaurant is modern with a fantastic layout that's fun and lively. They have a great selection of drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic) and a pretty diverse menu. I ordered the rice bowl with pork belly and got the kimchi fries with the Yardbird to share with friends. It was A LOT more food than I was expecting, and it filled me up really quick. The rice bowl was delicious; I would highly recommend spending the extra money for an egg on top and kimchi! It's also great to add some sriracha for that extra kick. The meat was crispy, the sauce the right balance of savory with a hint of sweet, and balanced out great with all the vegetables. The kimchi fries were also AMAZING. They have such a great sauce which seems to be a spin on chipotle mayo with that extra hint of kimchi. The yardbird is cajun fried chicken, and it is so crispy and flavorful and pairs really well with the fries. Tl;dr: Korean mexican fusion that is absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Went in the evening and sat in the patio which is dog friendly. The action was inside, but it's away from the street, so it's nice and quiet in the patio. Ordering takes place inside - they give you the option to tip when you order, but you have no idea what service you're about to receive. They do deliver your food to your table and then pick up when you're done - but that's as far as they went. The tacos are so good! Tried the yard bird and Nuri taco - both were amazing! The yard bird definitely seemed like it was heartier since it is fried chicken. (Tacos not included in photos but 2 Nuris would equal 1 Yard Bird... The tacos should really be made equal size) Chips are made fresh and reminiscent of Chili's chips. I ordered the queso and it was pretty good. Ordered the pork belly rice bowl - it was good, but sweet. My boyfriend loved it since he's a big eel sauce fan. The "j bomb" looked good on a previous photo I saw posted on yelp. Once it arrived, it was nothing more than a jalapeño popper smaller than the ones from H-E-B and it was priced at $2.25 Will definitely return for another yard bird and to try the fajita bowl and Nur-ita. I'll be skipping the j bombs!
google avatar

Yelp
Side note: GPS took me to Marshalls Nuri is right Chikfila in the strip mall First time here and oh my gosh what an experience! I got the bun with chicken and it was super delicious and a pork belly fried was beyyyond amazing! Everything melded together perfectly will definitely be back
google avatar

Richelle L.

Yelp
I have book marked this place to try on Yelp for a few months, and I am glad I was able to finally try their food! My husband and I got the nuri tako, the yard bird tako, and the kimchi frites with chicken, and WOW. Everything is very flavorful, and the frites were so crispy even with all of the toppings! Prices are fair. Our bill was around $20. I plan on coming back soon! Definitely give this place a try!

John W.

Yelp
Excellent food! Who would have known Mexican Korean fusion was a thing? We shared the kimchi fries with chicken. Just enough heat to the spice. Chicken was very well seasoned. I had the El Megi, fried catfish taco and the Korean karnitas taco. Both were very good. My husband had the fried cado (avocado) taco and the kickin chicken taco. He said both were very good. He said next time he would ask for the sauce on the chicken taco on the avocado taco also. Fun atmosphere. Very clean. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Food is always delicious. Staff friendly and accommodating. Love that this business bring me something new and different to the Valley. Obsessed with their queso and Nuri bowls.
google avatar

Flor B.

Yelp
Everything is delish. I usually order the chips and queso, and a yard bird. Everything is on point.
google avatar

Anuska C.

Yelp
I totally recommend this restaurant. The concept is amazing. Who would've thought Korean Mexican was such a a great combination? The tacos are huge and delicious but oh the pork belly! Soooooo delicious. The kimchi was fresh and has a bite to it. Loved the flavor!
google avatar

Sammy P.

Yelp
The vegan options are few in number but mighty in flavor! So yummy. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Rosie S.

Yelp
Restaurant has outdoor dining but they refused to let us eat outside and this after our order was placed and paid. We have a small child who is not vaccinated. Not sure why this was such a big issue. They preferred to refund our full order instead of letting us eat on empty tables outdoors.
google avatar

Alan C.

Yelp
Had my wife's birthday get together at Nuri and the food was the best we have ever had! Service was great also. Told them what we we wanted and it happened! Wow! What a great time we had! Queso and chips! Not just any queso either it was the best! The wings ,WOW! We couldn't keep them on the table they were going so fast ! Best wings ever! Rice bowl's with chicken and with ribeye were served steaming hot and fresh! Man oh man DELICIOUS!! Ice cold beer also and the Nurita margaritas with the coronita were awesome! This place has a great family atmosphere Top notch! Thanks for the great evening!

Yelp
Wow is all I can say. The food is refreshing and delicious. Try the Nuri tacos they're great and the beers too. Give it a try.

Yelp
Amazing good and place. A must visit for those folks that are looking to try on new and infused cuisines.

Gonzalo R.

Yelp
If you're looking to trade something you go ahead and come here I don't remember the name of the taco. I don't know it has a big piece of chicken with a great sauce. It's incredible. What can I tell you the plates are delicious and great service.

Mally A.

Yelp
Definitely a different eatery for South Texas, but a must to visit at least once. The dishes are creative and delicious. The prices are reasonable as well and service is quick. I recommend!!
