Nury’s Breakfast & Lunch - Review - Fredericksburg - Austin - The Infatuation

"About a mile off the beaten Main Street path in Fredericksburg, Nury’s Breakfast & Lunch is a casual spot for a Tex-Mex brunch or a classic diner breakfast. The sister restaurant of Nury’s On Main, this is a something-for-everyone place, from reliable pancakes and waffles to decent breakfast favorites like chilaquiles and eggs Florentine. Whether you feel like enjoying the breeze on the patio or prefer to eat indoors, this Nury’s offshoot is nice for small groups or dining solo." - Samantha Grasso

Had yogurt, granola and fruit, beautiful strawberry rose on top, excellent tuna salad! Great family run business! I know I have found a good restaurant when many locals are eating there!

Google
The food was good. The service was great. The atmosphere was great. We had breakfast options- eggs any style with sausage and sourdough toast. Typical diner style food. Overall, would recommend!

I had a fantastic experience at Nury’s Breakfast & Lunch! The peacock theme throughout the restaurant is absolutely charming and adds such a fun, unique vibe to the place. I ordered the Country Boy Omelette, and it was a solid 8/10—just needed a touch of salt and pepper to make it perfect, and then it was amazing! I also tried the Country Classic, which was incredibly filling. The pancake was a standout with its delightful crunch on the outside and fluffy texture inside. The service was quick and super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot worth visiting for a delicious and enjoyable breakfast!

Google
Food is fresh, hearty, and delicious. Service is case by case since the servers for greeting and guiding were ladies with zero hospitality while one male server who was in charge of our table was cordial, professional and confident! If it was not him, it would have been 3-4 stars.

Google
EXCEPTIONAL place!! Great service, clean and neat and DELICIOUS food!! Definitely recommend!!

Google
Great little place, food was excellent, as was the service. Had the nachos as a shared plate and still couldn't finish it all! Shared the street tacos (2 beef, 2 pork), and they were delicious and the perfect size, also for sharing. Overall, great breakfast/lunch place, definitely recommend!

Google
I had one of the best omelettes in I don’t know how long. I got the garden omelette and added bacon. You could tell they used fresh veggies. It’s definitely sharable if you not a big eater. My husband’s huevos rancheros and it was really good too. Service was great, they kept our coffee cups full. Try it…I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Google
We went to Nury's for lunch after church with our friends. I had the fish and chips and it was excellent. All of the other meals were excellent also along with the service. Family owned and operated. Great place for a great meal.

Yelp
Wonderful "Hangover" omelette! Spicy, very well cooked, and stuffed with all kinds of goodness. Fast and super friendly service. Easy in and out. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Ranchero sauce taste like raviolis. Nothing Authentic!!! At all Nothing is homemade at all. Coffee taste like Maxville house weak and keep in a thermos lukewarm at best if there not busy. not sure how this place ever got to number one breakfast. They must have a lot of friends running Yelp. Disappointed

Yelp
Upon arrival we were greeted by Eric (who was also our server) and told we could choose our table. We chose a table near the front of the restaurant and looked over our menus while we waited to take our order. The place itself is an older restaurant, clean and comfortable. I ordered a standard 2 egg breakfast with toast and potatoes and sausage. The restaurant itself was quite busy and Eric was hustling as he was the only server at that time. He was upbeat and friendly and never made us feel rushed. Our food took about 15 minutes to arrive. The eggs and potatoes were hot and cooked to order. If I were in the area again I would definitely go to try other menu options. Thank you Eric for your excellent service.

Yelp
Out of towner who eats here once or twice a year. The place is awesome. Really. Name something. It's good. Cuban? Yep. The various egg plates for breakfast? Yep. Chicken-fried steak? Yup. Burger? Pancakes? Benedicts? Yep, yep, and yep. Go here!

Yelp
Good breakfast in a nice atmosphere with good service and a great family run business. Sauces on the meal and sides tasted homemade, my favorite was the green sauce, chips were crispy and eggs over medium cooked perfectly. I would recommend this fine restaurant!

Yelp
No flavor at all! We got the chilaquiles and French benedict. Beans were bland and so were the potatoes, we couldn't even eat them. The hollandaise sauce was basically just lemon juice squeezed on top. The chilaquiles were good but the only edible thing on the plate. We came on a Saturday and there were many tables available when we arrived so not insanely busy but got busier as we ate. Good diner feel. Servers were great, although personally I don't like when people in food service have those extremely long fake nails, she could barely set the plates down on the table and I kept thinking about how gross they probably are touching everything.

Yelp
Had the huevos rancheros and they were amazing! It was all delicious, excellent customer service. Very clean and great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We came here for breakfast and had a great meal! My sister and I ordered the plate with eggs, potatoes, breakfast sausage and a pancake. The eggs and sausage were the standard but the pancake was fabulous! It was fluffy and melted in your mouth. My mom ordered her go to, everywhere, chilaquiles. She was happy that the chips were thick and came smothered with sauce. The service was on point and we were seated immediately on a Sunday morning at 8am. Overall a good experience!

Yelp
We went here with some good friends who live in Fredericksburg. The recommended it because it's is not always overrun with tourists, and is in a great location. I liked that it was easy to access, so much so that I didn't need my wheelchair. We were able to be conveniently seated next to a power outlet for my oxygen machine. In fact, there were a few tables not far from electrical outlets. The food and service were outstanding. The waitress was very friendly, and took our orders right away. She was friendly and kept the chips and salsa coming. They were quite good. The food came quickly enough that I didn't kill my appetite with the chips. My husband had a burger with bacon and egg, topped by a jalapeno and French fries. He loved it. I had the eggs Benedict. The Hollandaise sauce was very good, and tasted like it was made right there, not reconstituted. The eggs were poached to perfection, and the ham with thin sliced and not fatty. The hash browns were some of the best I've ever had. The menu has a wide variety of food, so there is something for everyone. I intend to eat here again the next time I'm up there in Fredericksburg.

Yelp
Update on Nury's After a couple of years, my wife and I went back to Nury's twice this past week. First time was to be eat lunch a few days ago and this morning, a late breakfast. Food quality is still good. My lunch sandwich was their chicken sandwich. It was tasty, delicious and huge! I had one half for lunch and took the other half home. I love their fries! Fresh from the fryer, it's crunchy outside and warm to hot soft on the inside. My companions ate burger and fries and Nachos Supreme. They both raved about their lunch choices. The burger guy was so full, he took a nap on the way home. Which brings us to today's breakfast. Their French Benedict is good, not great. They took half a croissant, cut it in half and put the poached eggs on each quarter cut of a croissant. It was not very filling to be honest. Why scrimp on a croissant? Another issue is the fruit served with it. It was not very fresh. It tasted like they got the old fruit from yesterday and mixed it up with the fresh fruit from today. Mind you, this was $18 for the meal! Their service is always prompt and their servers friendly and accommodating. This place was packed with people and even had a line starting by the door. We got seated pretty fast so we considered ourselves lucky. Ambiance is very pleasant. They keep the place clean and even saw one of their servers get under a table to pick up a used napkin and jelly container. I'd come back here for lunch anytime but probably go someplace else for breakfast next time we come back to Fredericksburg for peaches!

Yelp
Excellent service, plus fresh and very delicious meal! We enjoyed a nice, quiet lunch during the week. Nury's always has the best salads, but the burger looked especially tasty today.

Yelp
I love breakfast. Nury's is one of the best. Clean, pleasant service and great tasting food. What a way to start your day.

Yelp
In our first real visit to Fredericksburg, we had breakfast at Nury's. I had the French Benedict which was amazing. The staff were friendly, and the ambiance very comfortable with a country home feel. We'll be coming here again!

Yelp
Best Mexican breakfast in Fredericksburg by far! Don't looks elsewhere for your authentic mexian breakfast

Yelp
After consulting Yelp for a good place for lunch in Fredericksburg, my wife spotted deje crab nachos in the pics from Nury's - she declared that was our destination. Obviously we had the crab nachos and we thought we'd want a tad more to eat and added the seafood tower. It was a huge amount of food and absolutely delicious. Definitely would go back. The space is clean and open. I was surprised at how few people were there for lunch. All the dishes coming from the kitchen looked amazing. A must do if you enjoy seafood!

Yelp
This place was surprisingly good. I wouldn't have thought to find decent Mexican food in Fredericksburg. Service- excellent! The entire staff was hustling to take care of the Saturday morning breakfast rush. Drinks were constantly refilled and the gentleman that took out order was very welcoming and asked us questions. Food We started off with some coffee. Now I will say I have a very high bar set for coffee, but knew not to expect great coffee at a Mexican restaurant (I never have.) Yeah, it was extremely weak and watered down. The chilaquiles were good. We ordered the red and the chipotle ones. The red salsa was definitely better. The potatoes and beans that accompanied the plate were tasty. Food came out fast and the service was great. If you are in mood for Mexican breakfast, give them a try!

Yelp
This place is an accommodating , super friendly , full of love , and well mannered establishment . They have a wide variety of freshly made options. We tried the chili quill as , biscuits and gravy , some fresh fruit and shared a peach mimosa. Had a couple cups of some really good coffee and the unsweetened tea was super solid . We didn't go inside as we had our three dog crew with us this weekend , so being able the get a table on the back patio was huge ! Everyone who left through tha back had satisfisfaction in thier tones and all wanted to say hi to our three pups . It looks like they can handle any sized crowd and you certainly have the family run spirit in the air which makes us feel at home . I'd recommend this place to anyone not from around here like me but if I lived here , I'd be a regular for sure. Great work Nurey's ! Thank you for that wonderful experience , hope to see you all again soon!

Yelp
$50 blech for 2. It's in a great location. Nice looking place. Food is substandard by far. Bacon was great. Rest was so bad. Huevos rancheros. They literally used ham lunchmeat for it. So bad. Bacon adds one star otherwise it's a no way. Not recommended

Yelp
I was in Fredericksburg for the day and found this spot to eat before our wine tour. We got a few different dishes. All were delicious. Staff was great. We were seated right away when we arrived. Chilaquiles: the best dish. It was so good. They chips are homemade. You can get them with one type of salsa or two. French Benedict: perfect poached eggs. The side of potatoes were delicious. Huevos rancheros: good, simple plate with two eggs and refried beans. You can choose your salsa. It also comes with a few of their homemade chips. Salad with tuna and avocado: huge portion. The tuna is tuna salad with Mayo. They aren't skimpy on the avocado. It also had big pieces of tomato and olives. It is filling Pancake: perfect on its own or as a dessert. Fluffy. Great taste. Big enough to share French toast: same as then pancake. We ordered this to share as a dessert. They have parking on site.

Yelp
Very tasteful breakfast. Nice presentation and quantity of food. Flavorful and enjoyed each bite. My only question is, how did breakfast become so expensive? Inflation, I get it but I'll give it 4.5 for quality, $$$$ for cost.

Yelp
One of favorite places for breakfast and lunch. Food is always fresh and consistent. Very nice family runs the business.

Yelp
Recommended as a favorite. The Fish and Chips. Tried it and disappointed The fries were terrible a poor quality frozen fry served lukewarm warm old and stale. The coleslaw was a mayonnaise bath not served crisp or cold. Hard to eat and with the mayonnaise not at temperature not healthy. The fish was good but for price and quality mediocre at best. Sure they could do better but right now $40 for 2 lunch plates not something that cries please come back

Yelp
Holy sh*t! This place is good! We were not expecting such a reasonably priced restaurant in Fredericksburg but it was. The restaurant is cozy and they is more sitting then expected. The food is an array of Mexican and American food, no complaints. Everything we have tried is good. Pancakes-check, COCHINITA PIBIL-check check, home fries-triple check! The wait staff can answer questions and are really patient with the indecisive nature of my husband and daughter. Such a plus!

Amanda R.

Yelp
In Fredericksburg for the weekend. This place did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the service was EXCELLENT! The food hit the spot!

Yelp
This is one of the few times I've experienced where the food was so good, that I'm not even going to factor the service into my stars. Our waitress was absent during most of our meal and we only saw her when she took our order, when she brought the food, and when the check was ready. The disappearances of our server aside, the food was fantastic! Everyone was super pleased with their meals as well as the incredible housemade chips and salsa! The Chilaquiles was amazing and made for an absolutely delicious lunch! I can't speak to their overall service, as one experience with one server does not determine the overall quality of the staff. I can say that if you want some amazing Mexican Breakfast & Lunch, then this is the right spot!

Yelp
We stopped in for a glass of wine and appetizer to share. We ordered the crab nachos and they were fantastic. Our only mention was they could have been warmed up a bit. The crab was cold which we weren't expecting. Otherwise the service, atmosphere, and food were great. I'd go back to try different menu items.

Yelp
We decided on this place as a better breakfast option instead of the Best Western around the corner where we were staying had to offer. There is plenty of parking as you turn in from S. Washington St. They have about 16 table tops inside and several more in their covered outdoor dining patio. The bottomless coffee is decent, but not great and they do have turbinado sugar. If you come here for lunch they do have some decent beer and wine choices. I had the classic breakfast, which was worth every penny and the Florentine choice was equally delicious. There were two shortcomings that I noticed, one was the fact they do not offer hashbrowns. But the one thing that kept this from being a five-star experience was the fact that they make great pancakes, but they have no real maple syrup as an option. I would gladly pay an extra couple of dollars for this option alone. It's not mentioned on the menu, but you can add blueberries to your pancakes. All things considered, this is definitely one of the best breakfast spots in Fredericksburg and we'll be back. I should also mention they have two locations, the other is on Main St.

Yelp
This was an incredible spot. Very clean and the food is delicious and plenteous. Our waiter (Enrique) was fantastic. Super kind, remembered my name and was proactive in helping us without us even needing to ask for extra plates for splitting and extra silver ware and knife for cutting the burger. This is a must try place in Fredericksburg.

Yelp
Tasty food and a sweet waitress. However, the hostess were having a little difficulty sitting everyone. There were three women who took turns sitting people and even though they would take each arrives name down. It seems as if they just called names randomly or at well. hey did not follow it. We had to walk up the hostess stand two times and check our placement. People who arrive after my husband and I started to get seated before us. When checking in all three women provided different answers, so there was no consistency. The food was just okay.

Yelp
I loved this place! We came from Austin and honestly the chilaquiles were amazing, we went back a second time on our trip even and my husband got the chilaquiles again! Great service, yummy food, and will come again when we're in town.

Yelp
This place was absolutely delicious! We were a little bit leery, seeing all of the pets being accommodated at this restaurant, but they definitely know how to accommodate humans and their beloved fur babies!! Everything was delicious! A bit of a weight, but definitely well worth it!
google avatar

Denise T.

Yelp
The food was great! This is a Mexican style Restaurant with an American menu as well. I loooooved the red and green salsa. Staff was fast to get us on the list and wait was about 20 minutes but it seemed shorter. Our servers were sweet and very attentive and always checking on us.

Yelp
Waking up this morning in Fredericksburg, we knew we needed a good meal before a day of drinking. Wow, did we pick well! Nury's is home style Mexican food with a taste so good my boyfriend puts it above his own Mother's Huevos Rancheros. We will see you tomorrow morning Nury's! And maybe lunch as well...
google avatar

Troy B.

Yelp
To begin, the service was very slow though not many guest were present. Food quality was not as expected based on some of the rave reviews. Nothing served is made from scratch in-house as stated by our server. There aren't many options in the area for Mexican food. Very disappointing, would not recommend.

Scott B.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped here for breakfast after reading some solid reviews online, especially about the chilaquiles. I'll start with the positives: the parking was convenient, and the porch atmosphere was pleasant. The staff seemed friendly, though the service left a bit to be desired. My wife ordered the chilaquiles and a mimosa, while I went with the biscuits and gravy (over medium eggs) and a pancake on the side. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet our expectations. The chilaquiles were a disappointment for my wife--they lacked cheese, the tortilla chips were barely soaked in salsa, and the potatoes were quite dry. My biscuits and gravy were also underwhelming; the biscuit was soggy, and the gravy lacked flavor. On top of that, my eggs were served over easy instead of over medium, and I wasn't able to flag down our server to have it corrected. The pancake was actually pretty decent, but it arrived a bit cold, and no warm syrup was offered--just packets on the table. That said, perhaps we just had a one-off experience. The atmosphere was nice, and it's clear the place has its fans. Unfortunately, it didn't stand out as anything special for us, feeling more like a typical roadside diner rather than living up to the glowing reviews.

Yelp
Visited Fredericksburg and decided to stop for a bite to eat before hitting up the wineries which led us to Nury's. The wait wasn't too long considering we were only able to be seated outside because we had our dog. Prices were super reasonable - we paid $80 for 5 meals which I thought was pretty good. Food tasted good it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Low review because they have a horrible fly infestation in the outside eating area which was very annoying when trying to eat. Multiple tables around us moved to the inside area due to this, other people have napkins covering their food in between each bite. They need to do something to control this because it got pretty annoying. Also, we had to request silverware multiple times and couldn't start eating right away because we had no silverware. My partner asked for water and kept getting sprite served instead. And last we asked for napkins and were given 3 napkins for a group of 5 people. Don't be afraid by the 2 stars, this doesn't have anything to do with the food. Would we come again? Yes, but I would make sure to be seated inside for a better experience and better service.

Yelp
Was a delicious stop on our road trip! Very fast to take our drink orders, actually a second person asked us while the first was filling our drinks! Server was great, pleasant and very attentive. Highly recommend

Yelp
One last stop before leaving Fredericksburg and it was amazing!! Huevos rancheros was great - you must try it!! The breakfast platters were also a huge hit with a couple of the people with me!! The nachos were great and the turkey sandwich - sub out mayo for garlic aioli so goooodddddd!!! Highly recommend this place and waitress was also very nice as well!!

Yelp
Stopped by while visiting Fredericksburg. Liked the old antique space it's in, service was friendly and food cane out promptly. Got the shrimp tacos but unfortunately they needed more flavor and less lettuce. The chipotle and avocado sauce that came on the side needed a little more kick to it or something. Daughter ordered flautas and those were pretty good. Kids cheeseburger was good too. Would probably try another dish next time when visiting.

Yelp
Awesome food and ample portions! Service is top notch making sure you were taken care of. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Nurys has a great and courteous staff. Food is always made to order in every way and they are so very fast on getting the items you order out to you. Great place to go for breakfast all day long. It's not on Main Street but it's always busy, everyone loves this place too. Try them out, you will be glad you did!

David J.

Yelp
Food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. The omelets were very filling and flavorful. We finished off our meal with a homemade churro. Absolutely recommend this place!
google avatar

Altovise L.

Yelp
We came on a Sunday mid morning so there was a 20 minute wait. This is a very mom and pop diner feel. They have a combination of American and Mexican food. I ordered French toast and they were good but not spectacular. Plus the butter and syrup was not very good.
google avatar

Tami S.

Yelp
Line looks long but it moved relatively quick. Chilaquiles were great, had chicken on them. Everyone enjoyed their meals, large portions. Would return.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Phenomenal breakfast and service! They had great Mexican dishes that felt very authentic. Not Tex Mex. They had other options but I opted for the chiquilles and the hubs got the hangover omelette. I'm normally not a big breakfast eater but I ate almost the entire plate! Wow! I would def go back when we visit Fredericksburg. It looks like a little hole in the wall but it was perfect.

Yelp
Unique selection/ lots of parking. Staff are excellent! Very authentic and kind. Felt like I was with family. Food was really good! Best food experience in Fredericksburg!
