Have been coming here for special occasions for about 7 years. Great consistency in the quality, the kind of food you find in top restaurants in London. Worth every penny. Love everything on the menu. The fresh bread is excellent. Especially great in the Summer garden. Super cosy inside in the bay window seat by the bar. We love that it is dog friendly outside, and in the bar area too. Pictures are from different visits. Always great!

What a pub! The atmosphere, customer service and food were impeccable. Definitely a Michelin star pub as the presentation and food was so nice. If you’re passing or local, don’t think about it, go! The owners came and sat with us to ensure we had a great time. Quite easily one of the best pubs I’ve been to. Our visit to The Nut Tree Inn for their Tasting Menu was nothing short of perfection, earning a resounding five stars! From the moment we received a truly welcoming invite, we were captivated by the charm of the place, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The quality and value of the menu are truly exceptional. Each dish was a masterpiece, from the comforting Celeriac soup to the rich Fillet of beef and the exquisite Nut Tree Garden apple souffle. The ingredients shone through with every bite, showcasing a commitment to excellence. The accompanying wine flight was perfectly matched to each course, elevating the experience and providing fantastic value, especially for a restaurant delivering such Michelin-star quality food and service. Beyond the incredible food and wine, the exceptional service and attentiveness of the staff truly stood out. Every member of the team was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, anticipating our needs without being intrusive. Their passion for hospitality made us feel incredibly valued and well-cared for throughout our entire meal. Very cosy little place with lovely service. The food however was not that great, there were very limited choices on the a la Cart menu, so we decided to try the taster menu. I did not find the food on par with some places that do tasting menus for substantially less money. A few dishes were extremely over salted. Seems more style over substance. Will not be returning.

Incredible experience from start to finish. I booked well advance to treat my sister and her husband for their birthday due to their love of fine dining. Not necessarily my cup of tea but always willing to try something new. I sent some instructions in advance regarding a candle and bday message in on of the desserts (which they did in a wonderful fashion). We arrived about an hour early to spend some time at the bar and soak in the atmosphere and I'm glad we did. The gentleman behind the bar warmly greeted us and was smart enough to guage our chattiness and was engaging in our conversations in a way which felt he wasn't interrupting whilst also incorporating some excellent banter and providing us with well informed recommendations about our drinks choices. The English sparkling wine was divine! We were provided with menus which were explained very well. We could've happily stayed in the bar all evening and let the night pass away. Such an amazing vibe! We were eventually taken to our tables in another part of the building where our table was setup to perfection and was asked about our menu preferences (wine flights, cheeses etc.). Myself and sisters husband went for the wine flights. Bread arived shortly after and was served to us fresh with plenty of options, mini baguettes, focaccia, sourdough, fruit and walnut and granary bread I believe. As far as I know, you could have as much as you wanted but with bread you have to be careful not to spoil the main event! The bread went down a treat, especially the focaccia. The butter was of an exceptional quality and possibly cultured as it had an enhancing twang that elevated the flavour. We then started to receive our courses. I won't invividually describe them all but none of them dissappointed. My sister loved the chocolate 'egg', I personally enjoyed the fish course over everything else. Through all the courses the sommelier was explaining all the wines we were receiving with great detail and passion which was a lovely touch. He even refilled us at times! Dangerous! Overall, I have very little to fault about this establisghment. All the staff looking after us were freindly, professional and knowledgable far above the standards of a typical high-end restaurant. This along with the exceptional food offerings totally justifies the Michelin Star and would definitely go again. Even as someone who isn't really into this kind of dining. Thank you to the Nut Tree Inn for making our dining experience and bday for my sister and her husband so memorable. I also had no reservations about paying the bill. Worth every penny imo. Live a little!

Another incredible experience at Nut Tree for a double-birthday dinner. Thanks again to everyone, the food, the wine, the service, the experience is all very special and next level. Can’t wait to return.

This was by far the best meal and dining experience of my life. My wife and I had a voucher for my 30th birthday, and it was truly wonderful. To start the staff were so kind, welcoming, smiley, happy, and attentive too - but not in an overwhelming way; it was perfect. They also weren’t pretentious or judgy, like some top establishments can be - so you can tell everyone genuinely cares. The food was simply divine. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing and added a cheese board, which was amazing too. The sommelier was super insightful and knowledgeable as well, again just adding to the experience. There were too many delicious dishes to name - they were all genuinely lovely. It’s a Michelin-starred pub for a reason, and the price reflects that, but I can’t recommend The Nut Tree highly enough if you’re hoping to treat a loved one or celebrate something special. The food was excellent and deserves the Michelin rating. The creativity and presentation were impressive. Loved the indoor and outdoor space. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth the 30 min drive from Oxford.

Brilliant food. I won't go into the details of my dinner because I can't really remember it that well, but the evening was brilliant and the food was some of the best I've ever had. Was a really memorable evening, wish I'd known about it before I was leaving Oxford!
