Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe: A family-friendly gem in Sabre Springs, San Diego. This artisan bakery offers an array of comforting baked goods and hearty brunch dishes. Nutmeg expanded their space over the last few years, making this an inviting place for families, couples, and local foodies exploring North San Diego’s breakfast spots. For Sunday brunch, we enjoyed a warm ham and cheese croissant. Its airy, flaky layers and butter richness complemented the ham and melted Swiss cheese to create a pleasant balance of salty and savory flavors. The spicy corned beef hash was a substantial dish, full of brightly colored ingredients. It had a pile of vibrant scrambled eggs, corned beef bites, sliced green onions, jalapeños, red peppers and potatoes, and melted cheese. While the spice was milder than expected, some dashes of hot sauce enhanced its acidity and heat. The ordering / dining experience was straight forward: order from the friendly counter staff, take a number, and settle into one of the many indoor or outdoor tables for efficient food delivery by the servers. Note: The outdoor area is in a cozy, shaded area with limited seating. The counter service is noticeably friendly and welcoming. The floor service felt less attentive, likely due to the busy weekend brunch crowd. Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe in Sabre Springs is a great choice for a tasty, mid-priced meal. It is well-suited for families or anyone craving artisan baked goods in North San Diego.

The food was excellent. Well worth the price. The lamentation process is perfect creating light and airy pastries beautifully displayed. The coffee was warm and creamy with a nice touch of nutmeg. The bananas foster was filled with a light whipped cream that melts. This place really delivers.

Google
Great cafe. Great brunch selection. Nice and busy atmosphere here but I got no problem finding seats on Saturday brunch time. Tried the big bad wolf and carnitas breakfast with sourdough and they were amazing! Honey lavender latte is also good. Recommended place!

Loved our visit here. Food was delicious. Everything we ordered was amazing. The best thing was homemade potato chips. Latte was excellent. The Matcha latte needs to be better mixed.

This is a great spot with an extensive menu and some really nice breakfast options. Depending on how busy they are, the service can be a bit slow. The plus sides are that there's no issue with parking, and you also have the option to sit outside.

An great neighborhood coffee/cafe shop for breakfast, lunch, or simply spending a productive day! I stumbled upon this gem recently and was instantly impressed by the warm and welcoming staff, clean environment, and the overall energy of the place. I visited on a Saturday morning and it was packed—every table taken, filled with people enjoying their food and conversations. The cashier mentioned that Fridays through Sundays are usually the busiest, especially before 9:30 AM. In the afternoon, things tend to quiet down around 2 PM. When I came back for lunch and was equally impressed. They offer a variety of healthy and nutritious options. The Wi-Fi is fast, the restrooms are clean. A decent environment for working, reading, or casual conversations. There’s even free water and excellent coffee. One thing to note: parking can be tight on weekends and Fridays, but it’s manageable during other times.

Gluten free options! They’re not as obvious on the menu, but that was good GF bread. Loved everything about this place. Open one downtown! :)

Google
Amazing breakfast and lunch spot. There dishes and desserts are all amazing and unique. We saw it on triple d. They do not disappoint.

Yelp
Nutmeg bakery in Sabre Springs is a great spot to grab a quick bite and to enjoy from an ample selection of baked goods. My husband and I have come for breakfast a few times now and the chilaquiles verdes are our favorite item! We have also had the florentine omelet and the breakfast quesadilla - both items also outstanding. But the area in which this spot really shines through is the ample selection of desserts and baked goods, including some seasonal items. The bread pudding, the cinnamon rolls, the scones, are all pretty tasty and not to be missed! Service is quick and friendly - you order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. Place is overall clean. Parking is easy since it's inside of a small plaza. Staff is polite, they don't check in on you but if you go to them for questions (like asking for a take-out container) everyone jumps in to help. They are all super friendly.

Yelp
I came for brunch on Sunday with my friends and it was crowded so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. Parking was easy since it's in a big plaza. They have 2 separate rooms with plenty of small tables. I got the capri panini. It had chicken breast, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, pesto, and mozzarella. It also came with potato chips that look made in house! It was really good and filled me up enough that I had to take half home. We also shared the cinnamon roll. It looks like it would be SUPER sweet with all the frosting on top but it wasn't as sweet as it looks. Which was perfect for us!

Yelp
This place can get very busy during the weekends. They only take reservations for a group of 8 or higher. This I learned while placing the order at the counter. But I had already called them to reserve table for 4 of us and someone on their end confirmed it. Nevertheless, they still accommodated us and told us the criteria for reservations. I ordered Omelette Florentine. I liked how it had a balance of couple eggs, couple slices of grilled sourdough, fried potatoes with tomatillo sauce and even fruits on the side. It was a healthy meal but the omelette tasted pretty bland. A little seasoning would make it so much better. Maybe I'll try their bakery items next time.

Yelp
Nutmeg Bakery & Café has a cute vibe--very vintage café feel with wooden furniture, handwritten chalkboard menu, and lots of artisanal touches. The space feels warm, relaxed, and welcoming, with the kind of charm that makes you want to get coffee and chat for hours with friends. It's got that perfect brunch spot energy. We tried the chocolate croissant, but it honestly reminded us of the ones from Trader Joe's--and you can get a whole box of those for the same price. So, not super impressed there. The blueberry pancakes, on the other hand, were amazing--fluffy, light, and probably some of the best we've had. The Nutmeg Scramble had a unique combo of goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, which was flavorful if you're into that kind of thing. Personally, I'm not sure I'd order it again, but I appreciated the creative flavors working together. The biscuit that came with it was pretty dry, though, and didn't add much to the plate. One downside about the experience was also the lack of information about ingredients--especially for someone with a group who had dietary needs. I asked if the gluten-free items were also yeast-free, and the staff wasn't sure and couldn't get any info on it. It would be super helpful if the pastry chef left a list of ingredients somewhere for transparency. That felt like a bit of a miss for an otherwise thoughtful spot.

Yelp
Great menu variety and fresh baked pastries and plenty of spaces to eat inside. I always get the vegan scramble, it is very filling and the perfect meal after a good hike. You order and pay before sitting down, and they bring your food to you, which is a great system for large crowds. The table we sat at was sticky, not sure if it was the lacquer on the table or it if was not cleaned well enough. The delicious food and service will always make me come back and bring my friends.

Yelp
I was pleased to see this location open as I'd been sad to see the Scripps Ranch location closed. There are a variety of baked goods as well as delicious brunch options. Seating inside and out.

Yelp
Friendly service ! Cute ambiance with the floral and greenery. Large cafe space with free wifi and lots of seating. Decent sized lot. They serve bfast and lunch all day. Tried the capri panini which comes with a side of chips. They play easy music so it's a vibe if you spend your slow morning here. Only thing is the price but that's inflation for ya.

Yelp
First time and already fan. Be ready to wait, but the line does move quickly. You order your food at the counter then find a table. The girl behind counter was super sweet and patient. The servers that brought out the food was just as polite especially for it being so busy. The food here was amazing. We shared the Cinnamon Roll and Bananas Foster. They were both equally good, but the Banana Foster tasted better just because it was a stuffed french toast. If you're ever in the area please try this spot out you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to come back and try something else on their menu. Thank you Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe for your hospitality and delicious first experience.

Yelp
Stopped here to meet a friend. The ambiance is causal. I got a snickerdoodle cookie warmed up. It was perfection. I also got a regular coffee and it was okay. Nothing super special but they did add almond milk as I requested. Service was friendly and they were busy! I also got a egg sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. It was delish. It came with a side of cantaloupe and pineapple! Overall I will definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Stopped by the Nut Meg Cafe with the fam today for breakfast and gotta say it didn't disappoint. The service was fast and friendly so are food came out pretty quick The Amazing burrito was really good as the cinnamon roll

Yelp
Love this spot! My avocado toast was super tasty, as was my nutmeg latte. I also enjoyed a bite of my husband's sugar cookie. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere made for a great dining experience. Nutmeg has a designated parking lot, along with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
This Nutmeg Bakery & Cafe location is busier than its sister store (sister store is loca ted on Danielson Street in an Industrial Park). I had a cappuccino & chocolate espresso scone. Both items were good and satisfying! The scone was a bit on the sweeter side but it wasn't too bad.

Yelp
Really cute local bakery/cafe close by to us with really wonderful weekend hours and delicious drinks and pastries. We love that the service is always friendly and you can order online for pick up. We like their lattes, Fancy French Toast, and pastries. We also appreciated the atmosphere being very relaxed with ample space to sit and serve yourself with basic condiments and utensils! Parking was a little hard to find in this plaza the two times we went but generally not too bad.

Yelp
First time stopping by, despite living in San Diego for over 20 years! Service was prompt, the employees were very polite, and the cafe itself had a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Next time, we'll have to dine in, but for this visit, there was one item in particular that I wanted to try ... Although I'm not allergic to gluten, their gluten free tiramisu cake caught my attention. They recently started offering this beauty, and I got to say, it is pretty tasty! The filling has that same tint, density, and smoothness as that found authentic tiramisu, and the cake layers are very light and airy, which, in my opinion, successfully replace the original dessert's use of lady fingers. Would I buy this again for $8? Yes, especially given that everything everywhere is just more expensive. Plus, the cake is tall, plump, well constructed, gluten free, and a great rendition of original tiramisu dessert. If I add one piece of feedback, the only thing I would add is more coffee soak to the cake layers. Maybe our piece was just missed due to being a end/side piece, but that was easily resolved by spooning on more of our own coffee. 5 stars = service, atmosphere, and ambiance 4.5 stars = tiramisu cake Therefore, 5 stars overall. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other offerings! And I have to admit, as a baker/dessert fanatic, I especially can't wait to try more of their pastry and cake offerings.

Yelp
A great local breakfast place to grab a quick meal with friends. We have been going here for years and the food has been consistently good. I usually get the Nutmeg scramble or shashuka, but ordered the Spicy Corn Beef Hash this time. Love the heat. Everyone else like their orders. There is seating inside and a small patio outside. The business expanded recently to offer more indoor seating and a cute little boutique shop next door.

Yelp
Huge, I mean HUGE heart decorated mug of hot Mexican spice mocha was perfect for a chilly morning. Nice trendy place for breakfast. Place your order at the walk up counter, pay, get your number on a stand and your order will be delivered to your table. The cheese in my bacon quesadillas was smooth and tasty. I could eat only 2 of the three pieces filled with egg, onion, sun dried tomatoes, etc. The two pineapple slices were sweet, the honey dew melon was crunchy( not quite ripe.) Popular venue for Saturday morning breakfast.

Yelp
Super busy at 10am and there was a long line to order. Restaurant is cozy and had good natural lighting. - French Toast: 3/5 not as soft as I would like, but there was a good amount of cream in the middle. Berries were fresh. - Blueberry White Chocolate Scone: 3/5 a little dry with pockets of chocolate - Snickerdoodle Pancakes: 4/5 moist but not soggy

Yelp
In the industrial part of Poway, but they have flags in front. Cute place inside with ample places to eat. I got the banana coconut muffin and a brownie; both gluten free. The muffin was moist, flavorful and should have gotten more! The brownie was heavy, rich, chocolatey and fudgey. Neither tasted gluten free and both were delicious!! I highly recommend this place. Price point was about average for gluten free, both $5.50 each.

Yelp
A great little cafe for breakfast/brunch, and now, happy hour & dinner! This location is large and can accommodate a lot more people. It's sweet and cozy in decor. I love that they have baked goods and foods that accommodate vegetarian/vegan and gluten free diets. My friends and I recently visited for their new night hours and it was the perfect little spot for good company with delicious food. I loved the BBQ jackfruit sandwich! It was tangy, well-seasoned, and served on perfectly toasted buttery brioche. There's also a great selection of beers on tap. Service is friendly, and the chef came out to check on us as well! We love seeing this local brunch favorite expanding their horizons. We'll be making these Nutmeg nights a regular thing!

Yelp
Locally owned restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. We went for breakfast and had a very delicious meal. You order at the counter before you sit down, so don't be one of those people that grabs a table before you even order. They have an assortment of baked goods on display which looked delish. We each ordered an order a different version of their stuffed french toast and added a side of scrambled eggs. Banana foster stuffed french toast- it was delicious no additional syrup is needed since the caramel adds the needed sweetness. They use brioche bread stuffed with what seemed a cinnamon cream mixture, so good. Berry stuffed French toast - was my favorite Fresh blueberries and strawberries with a berry compote drizzle. The brioche was stuffed with what seemed to be just cream, it was so delicious. They also offer seasonal drinks, we had the gingery lattes and they were delish, much better than other coffee places. The staff was friendly and the ambiance is not fast food type even though you order at the counter. The staff is very attentive and quickly clears dirty dishes from the tables. We'll be back to try some of their other dishes.

Order the brown rice and lentil soup! Sooooo good with curry flavor. Cute atmosphere and friendly staff

Yelp
Eggs Benedict tasted like NOTHING way too expensive do not eat here for food coffee was good though

Yelp
This one sadly missed the mark. When we got there we were excited as the line wrapped from the counter to outside (you order at the counter and then they bring you your food). We started off with the cinnamon roll. It was warmed up but was still pretty cold. It was dense but lacked flavor. The cream cheese tasted like frosting. Let's start off with the one entree that was good: the breakfast quesadilla. It had a nice little sear to it and was tasty. Besides that everything was pretty bland. The fancy avocado toast was nothing to rave home about and the side of fruit (see my photo) was kinda bizarre. The blueberry pancakes were alright as were the basic pancakes. The hash was tremendously greasy. All in all disappointed due to one, the wait, and two, the price. Everything was super expensive and unwarranted in my opinion. Parking is plentiful as it's in a strip mall.

Yelp
Definitely worth of all the five-star ratings from other Yelpers. We are visiting this area and followed the Yelp-reviews to Nutmegs. So pleased with this choice. The wait on a Sunday @ 10:00 was about 13-minutes to place an order. The line was a bit confusing and interfered with the flow of traffic in the cafe, but it worked. Beware: you must walk past all the bakery items before you order. Not an easy feat. It ls breakfast and I am wanting dessert! My husband and I ordered the egg white sausage scramble. I ordered the Triple D Special, recommended by Diners, Drive-ins and-Dives. Who could resist that recommendation? We started with decaf mochas. We were not disappointed. Our food came quickly. The cafe was bustling but not too overstimulating. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Our meals were so delicious and filling. Piping hot. Fresh ingredients. So flavorful. Shout out to the staff and management. This restaurant is well run. The staff are attentive, efficient and friendly. They move people through without it feeling rushed. You will not be disappointed if you choose to brunch at Nutmegs.

Yelp
Cute, cozy, yummy spot for a lil brekkie, pastry, and/or coffee in PQ. Love the Nutmeg scramble. The staff is always sweet. Shoutout to Cee, you're amazing!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch after a hike nearby. There was a girl scout camped out front so I bought a couple boxes of cookies from her. There was a line to order but it moved fairly quickly. I ordered their fancy avocado toast and was given a number to take to a table of my choosing. They brought the toast to me when it was ready. The avocado toast looked and tasted amazing. The pesto sauce on it was a nice touch. I also enjoyed the fresh fruit that it came with on the side. The place is cute and clean. I'll definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Jane R.

Yelp
Friendly staff and nice ambiance, but food and wait time is not exactly the greatest. We arrived Sunday, about an hour before their closing time, so safe to say the brunch rush had already ended. We only got a couple of paninis and that took about 20 minutes. Friendly staff, but man, I didn't realize panini could take that long to prepare. Anywho, when food finally arrived, it was a let down. We got the la havana. Slow braised carnitas sounds amazing, like it would have some jus at least or something, but it was so dry and tasted flat. It was bland and underwhelming. I don't know if it's a bad day as many people seem to love this place, but I left the place disappointed, taste wise.
google avatar

Kylie P.

Yelp
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE! This review doesn't come after just one poor experience, but after THREE. We figured the first was just a bad day, then the second made us not come back for a while, and today made it clear we're never coming back again. Mind you, all of this is said as someone who managed multiple restaurants over many years and knows how difficult the ins and outs can be, hence why we continuously tried to give the benefit of the doubt. Every single time we've come, the experiences have been nearly the same. There's a line to order, yet no tables to sit. You order at the counter, spend five minutes looking around for an open table, someone finally leaves, and then you spend another five minutes standing awkwardly next to a dirty table until someone eventually comes to PARTIALLY clean it. I say partially because they're usually rushing so much that they only wipe down only about half of the table, and then the trash and food they wipe off from the side that was "cleaned" gets pushed onto the chairs/booth. We were lucky enough this time to have a piece of the table before us' hash sitting in the booth with us the whole time! Although the staff are clearly busy, they also make twice as much work for themselves for lack of attention. I ordered avocado toast with no tomatoes and eggs over hard and my partner ordered the chilaquiles. Our number was #22. Somehow we were brought #6's order, which was a sandwich with fries and avocado toast with tomato and scrambled eggs. When the food runner tried to drop it off, we paused confused as she didn't say what she was holding, just stood there waiting for us to raise our hand and guess what was in her's, I'm assuming? Problem was, we couldn't identify what she was holding because it wasn't our order. I eventually scooted over the number placard because transparently, I didn't know what she was trying to do because she literally was not speaking. She then nearly slammed it down in front of me and stormed off. Once it was in front of us, since we couldn't see what she was holding above our heads and behind us, nor did she say what the items were, it was clear it wasn't our food. We let them know, then continued waiting for ours. When we finally got our meal, it was clear that it was just waiting in the window for a while. Everything was wet(?) and soggy. Like I said above, I ordered the avocado toast with no tomatoes and eggs over hard. What I received was an egg that was cooked in between over easy and over medium, and toast that clearly had initially had a tomato, but was removed before being sent out. Thankfully, I don't have an allergy, but one of my close friends does and this could've quit literally k!lled them had they been the one receiving this. My partner tried it, as I was already grossed out, and it was so coated in goat cheese (it was more of a goat cheese toast with avocado than it was an avocado toast with goat cheese) that he literally had to spit it out. Trying to salvage the meal, we moved to the chilaquiles. They were somewhat edible, but were over saturated with salsa and seemed to have just been sitting around to where they no longer held their crunch. He ended up finishing them solely out of starvation, but it certainly wasn't a good eat. In the past we've ordered the spicy hash twice (hence why we recognized it on our booth seat as mentioned above) and both times it was served wet, which I believe was due to far too much grease between the ingredients and the melted cheese. Every drink also comes unsweetened, but it's not mentioned at ordering and since the staff is unavailable for help, you can't really ask for any after the fact. We left our completely full matcha on the table, as it just tasted like water and earth. About $50 later, we're still hungry and headed somewhere else because the food was inedible, on top of being frustrated from all of the happenings. We would've asked for a refund, but didn't feel like trying to find anyone to help us and have to wait around for someone to care more than we already had. I'm sure these is how they generally keep their money. I can't imagine they get many regulars.

Yelp
Just so-so today. Maybe they had a bad day? Hubby got a very boring burger. Don't get me wrong, the description sounded great. The small item with lots of (yawner) chips next to it was not up to par. I got the namesake scramble that comes with English muffin and fruit. The English muffin was very strange, no holes like one expects, and not toasted rather it was smashed in the panni maker. The fruit? Ha! It was three of the thinnest slices of flavorless melon one can imagine. The scramble was good thankfully. And so was the coffee cake. But even my lemonade fresca was more like weak lemon water. We have been here a lot....not sure I will be back.
google avatar

Willy T.

Yelp
There's a lot of seats in here. I got myself an Iced Americano and an Omelette Florentine. I'm not a coffee expert so I don't have much to say about the coffee, but it does taste like coffee. The omelette was very fluffy and enjoyable. It had a ton of nice cheese pulls. The toast was also great. The fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew) was also of good quality. The biggest let down was the potatoes. They very average at best and were a bit dry and unevenly seasoned. This place has good vibes and was a good place to stop and get brunch on the drive back home from San Diego.

Yelp
Wow! What a incredible way to start the day! This incredibly quaint cafe has some of the best vibes in the SD area! I loved the rustic vibe and post modern decor. Service was beyond incredible! Sarah was very accommodating and made the ordering experience quick and easy, she was able to settle my recourse and help me pick an incredible combination of flavors and ingredients to get my morning off right! And believe me when i say the food did not let down either! the spicy hash was simply to die for! Paired with the mimosa, it was a filling, refreshing and energizing meal. Needless to say i will be back!

Yelp
This is my go-to bakery & cafe! Their salads are amazing and versatile and I never get bored of them. If I'm in the mood for something sweet, their scones are amazing! The service is even better!! They remember your name and they provide the best service with utmost care for their customers. Their aguas frescas are a nice summer addition as well. Always recommend it to my friends so I had to eventually help people on Yelp discover this gem too!

Yelp
cozy bakery cafe with a breakfast and lunch menu. We beat the breakfast rush. Ordered at the counter and food/coffee orders are brought to you by table number. The only inconvenience is when your drinks are brought out; you have to get up to get your straw and additional items needed. The food was decent and nicely portioned. The coffee was satisfactory. I'd probably return to try their hot coffees and lunch menu.

K W.

Yelp
The food is very good and lots of options. Once your order is in the service is good. There is a very long line and moves very slowly. I don't really understand why but maybe because there are so many choices that it takes a long time to submit the order with one person at the register that doesn't seem efficient.
google avatar

Miriam G.

Yelp
I suppose the atmosphere here is lively. The place was busy and loud. I stood in line for a while in order to order. Honestly, that's why it's a 4 star experience for me. I prefer to be seated and an order be taken. This is not that kind of place. Stand in line, order, get a number, and find yourself a seat. The food was great though. I got the avocado toast which was fabulous! I also got herbal tea, I think it was called "happy" or something similar. It was a great tea blend. Basically their version of chamomile. I'm not sure what my friend ordered but she clearly liked it as she was scrapping the sauce from the plate. I wish I took pictures- I usually do. But when they brought the food out, it looked so good that I dug right in. While I didn't order any pastries, they did look amazing. It was so hard to say no to myself. Each one was huge and delicious looking. Definitely go and enjoy this place. It's a good one.

Yelp
The stuffed french toast here is SO GOOD!!! I tried it for the first time today and I am hooked! The filling is so creamy and flavorful and the mixed berries were a nice touch to the dish as a whole. (I also asked them to add banana too.) I will be back!
google avatar

Claudia R.

Yelp
Everything was great except for the recipe of Chilaquiles. The combination of lime crema with acidic taste of tomatillos was not the best. Maybe instead of that type of lime cream, just the Mexican regular cream better and maybe no cumin on it would have been better. Fresh Cotijan queso, Asadero cheese perhaps better top. I do not recommend this dish. The taste was not enjoyable plus cumin is used mostly in South American dishes not chilaquiles... Mexican Chilaquiles do not include this type of spice. ‍ I would have rather tried the bakery, sandwiches or wraps that are much of the restaurant forte. The restaurant itself was enjoyable and the staff really great though !! Staff 4 stars. Chilaquiles 1to 2 stars because it was warm and looked nice to the eye.

Marc B.

Yelp
Still 5-stars for me, but they changed the menu and got rid of my favorite distinct sandwich, The Bombay (chutney/cream cheese/Brûlèed ham combo). The new most appealing (to me) was the Big Bad Wolf. It's a panini with ham, bacon, salami, 3-cheese blend, apricot jam and Jalapenos. I don't think I've ordered meat sandwiches with apricot jam before, but it tasted very good. The sliced Jalapenos made the panini pretty spicy, but it was easy to take then off too and get less of a kick. It was also served with their really flavorful homemade chips. Still a fan! Rec: Bring the Bombay back! :)

Yelp
We like to stop by this Nutmeg after a workout for a light brunch. The food always satisfies and the drinks are well crafted. I like the Spicy Corned Beef Hash and any of the egg dishes. They are clean, filling, and tasty. Lately, my fiancee has been ordering the Shakshuka since she likes the spiced fragrance. She adds chicken to it so that she gets more protein. The staff is friendly, and if there is a line, it moves quickly. The tables are sometimes left dirty for a bit, but that's the only concern I have to share.

Yelp
COFFEE: 3/5 FOOD: 3/5 SERVICE: 1/5 Was expecting something pretty great from the reviews I saw but I would say the experience was average at best. Coffee was OK, the gluten free cookies and banana muffin were OK, and the service was severely lacking. Pretty sure Starbucks has better food/drinks, and that's saying something... No one greeted me, even at the register. I ordered my drink/food, and the person who handed me my food had a bad attitude. Must be just a local hyped up place since there aren't many other options. Definitely won't be back.

Yelp
This cozy café is located in a shopping center, so parking wasn't an issue. Orders are taken at the front and the food is brought out to the table. Service was quick and friendly. The menu had a lot of unique dishes and the bakery items looked delicious. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The service was great as well as the food! The only downside was the price didn't match the portions. I had one slice of avocado toast for $14. Their cinnamon roll was delicious nonetheless!

Yelp
Recently, Nutmeg near my home closed, and they moved next to Costco in Poway. I tried their Capri panini, and my husband had the Loaded Italian. Both were disappointing--definitely not worth $15 each. The Capri wasn't even changed to sourdough as I requested, and the Loaded Italian was barely filled. Also, the trash outside was overflowing. Not impressed.

Yelp
Food is excellent, I have eaten here many times and had many of the dishes, mostly the breakfast items though. My current favorites are the vegan scramble and the coffee cake. The staff is wonderful. Most of the negative reviews seem to be when the restaurant is slammed busy, it should go without saying that a restaurant isn't at its best under those conditions. If you're able to come when it's calm you'll have a great experience and yummy food.

Yelp
This was the first time I actually went and had breakfast at the Nutmeg Cafe. All through covid, I would just order my food. There was plenty of parking. Beware, this place is busy, and they had a long line because they are delicious! I ordered the quiche, which came with a side salad. Also, I ordered golden milk, which was tumeric, almond milk lavender, and honey. It just sounded good but tasted amazing, and I just know it has to be a bit healthy. It just has to! Loved this place, and I will be back to try one of those gigantic cinnamon rolls!!! Oh yes!!

Yelp
Went here yesterday before venturing to the Fallbrook Avocado Festival. The place was packed to the rim, but the food was worth it. Only one little mishap - took the third order a little while to arrive, but still worth the wait!!!

Yelp
We went in for Nutmeg Nights on Friday! So to see this restaurant open in the evening. The food was DELICIOUS and creative. Beautiful charcuterie. The jackfruit sandwich was amazing. The tacos were also very, very good. Kids loved the burger. They have a cute little kids menu. And of course...truffle fries. Yum! If you come for breakfast, you gotta try dinner.

Yelp
Ordered the Triple D special, the Nutmeg latte and the rum and coconut cake to go. With tax and tip, it came up to about $30.00. Pros: -large, casual restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you -they have outdoor seating. I saw that dogs were outside in the patio area -the Triple D special let's you sample sweet and savory options from their menu -they had a good assortment of pastries to choose from -parking is free and plentiful Cons: -none

Yelp
Cute little popular brunch place located off the freeway in a lil strip mall. Order first, get a number and find a table. Don't be afraid of the lines. Tables seem to pop up pretty quickly when people are done eating. Dogs are welcomed in their outdoor seating area. These seats can be a little tough to grab if you have your furry friend with you, and they helped us grab a table so my family could eat with our four legged pup as well.
