DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE!
This review doesn't come after just one poor experience, but after THREE. We figured the first was just a bad day, then the second made us not come back for a while, and today made it clear we're never coming back again. Mind you, all of this is said as someone who managed multiple restaurants over many years and knows how difficult the ins and outs can be, hence why we continuously tried to give the benefit of the doubt.
Every single time we've come, the experiences have been nearly the same. There's a line to order, yet no tables to sit. You order at the counter, spend five minutes looking around for an open table, someone finally leaves, and then you spend another five minutes standing awkwardly next to a dirty table until someone eventually comes to PARTIALLY clean it. I say partially because they're usually rushing so much that they only wipe down only about half of the table, and then the trash and food they wipe off from the side that was "cleaned" gets pushed onto the chairs/booth. We were lucky enough this time to have a piece of the table before us' hash sitting in the booth with us the whole time!
Although the staff are clearly busy, they also make twice as much work for themselves for lack of attention. I ordered avocado toast with no tomatoes and eggs over hard and my partner ordered the chilaquiles. Our number was #22. Somehow we were brought #6's order, which was a sandwich with fries and avocado toast with tomato and scrambled eggs. When the food runner tried to drop it off, we paused confused as she didn't say what she was holding, just stood there waiting for us to raise our hand and guess what was in her's, I'm assuming? Problem was, we couldn't identify what she was holding because it wasn't our order. I eventually scooted over the number placard because transparently, I didn't know what she was trying to do because she literally was not speaking. She then nearly slammed it down in front of me and stormed off. Once it was in front of us, since we couldn't see what she was holding above our heads and behind us, nor did she say what the items were, it was clear it wasn't our food. We let them know, then continued waiting for ours.
When we finally got our meal, it was clear that it was just waiting in the window for a while. Everything was wet(?) and soggy. Like I said above, I ordered the avocado toast with no tomatoes and eggs over hard. What I received was an egg that was cooked in between over easy and over medium, and toast that clearly had initially had a tomato, but was removed before being sent out. Thankfully, I don't have an allergy, but one of my close friends does and this could've quit literally k!lled them had they been the one receiving this. My partner tried it, as I was already grossed out, and it was so coated in goat cheese (it was more of a goat cheese toast with avocado than it was an avocado toast with goat cheese) that he literally had to spit it out. Trying to salvage the meal, we moved to the chilaquiles. They were somewhat edible, but were over saturated with salsa and seemed to have just been sitting around to where they no longer held their crunch. He ended up finishing them solely out of starvation, but it certainly wasn't a good eat. In the past we've ordered the spicy hash twice (hence why we recognized it on our booth seat as mentioned above) and both times it was served wet, which I believe was due to far too much grease between the ingredients and the melted cheese. Every drink also comes unsweetened, but it's not mentioned at ordering and since the staff is unavailable for help, you can't really ask for any after the fact. We left our completely full matcha on the table, as it just tasted like water and earth.
About $50 later, we're still hungry and headed somewhere else because the food was inedible, on top of being frustrated from all of the happenings. We would've asked for a refund, but didn't feel like trying to find anyone to help us and have to wait around for someone to care more than we already had. I'm sure these is how they generally keep their money. I can't imagine they get many regulars.
