"A long, narrow restaurant with a boldly stenciled wall, the à la carte menu at Nutmeg covers all 29 states of India, while the tasting menu rotates through the regions. Cooking is vibrant, spices are ground daily and the breads are delicious." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

We went as a group and ordered a variety of dishes to try as much as we could — and we loved every bit of it! This place truly stood out with its unique vibe. The food was beautifully presented, not only looking amazing but tasting just as good. Every dish was full of flavour and clearly made with care. It also has a bar, which adds to the overall experience. I’d definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again!

Great place for a curry! Not your standard menu items but that’s a positive thing! I came as a group booking and the staff were very attentive despite the restaurant being very busy! The food was absolutely gorgeous too and plenty of it so definitely good value for money. Thank you!

This is probably the BEST Indian I have ever had in my life! It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the interior is so cute and the service was amazing and then to top it off was the incredible food! My chicken was delicious and the most perfect amount of spices and my husbands duck was cooked to perfection!

Ordered from this little gem of place, okay fine THE husband owns it 👀 — but still, WOW. Let me just say, if I could marry the Koliwada prawns, I would. Crispy, spicy, perfect. Paneer tikka? So good it made me forget paneer is technically just cheese. The tarka dhal and beef madras had me sweating and smiling like I was in a complicated relationship. Garlic naan and lacha paratha? Soft, flaky carb therapy. Lamb chops? Tender enough to make a grown man weep. And don’t even get me started on the spinach saag basically health food disguised as flavor bomb. 11/10, would dine with myself again. 👀

We went for dinner on weekdays to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed and given a table straight away to the seat which was good. It seemed like they had made some changes and renovations. Last time I went it was cramped and a bit dull but now the interior looks quite vibrant. The table setup is still quite next to each other and if the restaurant is full there isn't much space to move in and out easily. I would definitely not recommend any parents with a small child who needs pram access and even disabled people. Food was as usual good. We ordered sheekh kabab and paneer in the starter which was delicious and the main was good too. Overall it's a good place and definitely worth visiting.

The staff and their service was excellent. They could not have been more accommodating and attentive. The food was really nice, we had a friend who didn’t really like spicy food, and me who really likes it. Everything tasted amazing - see my terrible photos of it. Everyone ate way too much and it was amazing. I would say it got really hot at our table in the back. Not sure the AC was firing on all cylinders - just being a bit picky.

Nutmeg Clifton is an absolute gem! The food is consistently exceptional – bold, creative Indian flavours with a modern twist. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of depth. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality and thoughtfully prepared. The service is warm and welcoming, and the staff always make great recommendations. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cosy and stylish – great for both casual meals and special occasions. Highly recommend the tasting menu if you’re visiting for the first time – it’s a brilliant way to explore their unique take on regional Indian cuisine. One of the best dining spots in Bristol!

One of the better restaurants in the posh areas of Bristol. A truly modern Indian. Great atmosphere in a chic setting, a bit pricey, like expected, but well worth it. The shank was coming out of the bone, beautifully cooked, so tender! Both curries we tried were delicious and just the right amount of spice. PS: you need to book a table; there is easy parking nearby
