Wow, what can we say about Nutmeg except that our cake absolutely knocked it out of the park. If you want an incredible tasting cake with a unique and modern design, look no further. We loved Nutmeg’s style from the beginning, and knew it completely matched with our vision of our wedding cake. They worked with us to create a proposal that was exactly what we asked for and more. The design they came up with was so stunning, unique, and just completely us. And not to mention, their tasting process is so fun! We had such a hard time narrowing down the flavors because they were all so good. What we landed on was truly amazing and we got so many compliments on our cake at our wedding. From the design of it, to the taste, we heard it was the best wedding cake people have ever had—and we completely agree. We absolutely LOVED our cake and it was everything we dreamed of. We can’t recommend Nutmeg enough!

I am writing this a little late but my husband and I ordered our wedding cake from Nutmeg for our wedding at the end of September this year and we cannot recommend them enough! We corresponded with the owner who was prompt with communication and really kind and easy to coordinate with. Not only that, but the talent on the Nutmeg team truly is unmatched. We had so many ideas swirling in our head and Meg really helped us narrow down our ideas into an actual deliverable concept. She was very clear with what options we had, very transparent to how that translated to pricing, and it felt like a true collaborative effort where we had ultimate control of what we wanted our cake to look like with her professional opinion and expertise on what would actually look good. Their creativity is endless and the options we had was beyond what we thought we'd have in the process. Our cake not only was gorgeous and felt very reflective of our personality as a couple, but also tasted amazing. We did not have a lot of leftovers to bring home. Related to that, we also really appreciated from Nutmeg that they truly have you in mind; we had a secondary dessert option for our wedding and they recommended a portion sizing that worked perfectly with that in mind, and made it clear they care about your day and what is practical and going to work for you and not just the price tag. We highly recommend them for any couple's wedding day if you want a standout cake that is going to look super unique and also taste amazing, and to be honest we look forward to continuing to order from them for any future special occasion we may have!

We got our wedding cake from Nutmeg and it was such an awesome and delicious experience! We had so much fun choosing flavors with the cake tasting package (one of the most fun wedding tasks for sure) and we enjoyed so many of the flavors that we’ll be coming back for years for more cakes! I also sent some inspiration photos and Nutmeg absolutely nailed our vision. It was perfect and our cake was not only beautiful but it was so delicious. We can’t wait for our anniversary cake!

I ordered a cake for my friend and I who share a birthday - cake was ready on time and was exactly what we asked for. It was so incredibly beautiful and also delicious! The team here obviously know what they’re doing & are doing it well - we had a great birthday thanks to them!

I cannot recommend Nutmeg Cake Design enough!! Meg and her team are beyond talented and incredible bakers and humans. I have had the pleasure of knowing Meg for years and even more of a pleasure eating her treats. Most recently while dogsitting in Manayunk, I bought three different Too Good To Go bags and was blown away by the variety of sweets inside. I also purchased my Dad’s birthday cake too. It was her textured cake style with vanilla chocolate chip cake and vanilla cream cheese icing. My whole family was SO impressed with all the sweets I brought home. The macarons and chocolate cake were my favorite!! Thank you SO much Meg and her team!!! I cannot recommend her enough and supporting her business!!

I am SO thrilled with our wedding cake made by Nutmeg! Meg walked us through every step of the process and came highly recommended to us. My husband and I knew right away that their earl grey cake with bergamot buttercream option was perfect for us (and was such a unique offering). It was absolutely delicious, the design was spot-on perfect, and the leftovers held up so well. We got so many compliments on our cake - I can't wait to defrost the top tier!

This is THE place!! I was drawn to Nutmeg based on their designs but the experience, product and service is all 10/10. The cake is amazing, we fell in love with their baking with the super fun tasting. You want your cake to be beautiful, sometimes that sacrifices the taste but not these, perfect flavor and moisture. Their process is streamlined which is very much appreciated. Meg was always helpful with any questions and brainstorming. I would absolutely recommend to anyone to hire for their special event. The wedding cake food tasting was a real treat!! Thank you Meg and team!!

This isn't a location or business that typically sells to the public as a walk up. But Nutmeg does TooGoodToGo and wanted to try them out this way. My other typical option to use them is to get engaged to be ready for marriage. Any potential interested party? lol The amount of food and the quality of food I got for the TooGoodToGo price is very reasonable. The cakes themselves were fine but they didn't stand out for me. I took a look at their website and I saw some fancy visual creations and I would probably feel different it they felt comfortable giving those kind of slices outs. Maybe they do but it is all random. This isn't a place you get to walk into. You ring the bell, maybe several times, then pick up what you ordered in bag(s) and away you go. The frosting added to the cake gives it the flavor. No flavoring inside the cake that I noticed either. Good product and excellent offering for 5 stars on TooGoodToGo but the normalcy of the random offering makes me go with 4 stars for Yelp today. Also, I just noticed the owner name is Meg. So the company was probably aptly named NutMeg because of her name! I wonder if one could change their name to something like "N. Meg C. D." Keyz in NC goes by "Key L." And I have run into a few others that I cannot think of lol.

The absolute best of the best bakery in the area. Meg and her team are insanely talented and create designs and flavors with that WOW factor! We hired Nutmeg to design our wedding cake and we are so happy we did. The cakery offers a few cake tastings per year and they are worth every penny. Come hungry, though! The slices are large and in charge and packed with flavor and moist as can be. While many flavor pairings are offered, you have the option to choose whatever combo you'd like. The process itself was very easy and Meg was very accommodating and helpful along the way. The cake shops even give the option to prepackage an anniversary cake which we loved for the convenience. It's no shock that everyone raved about our cake(s). We chose the chocolate cake with cherry buttercream and chocolate chunk and bourbon cherries. If you've ever tried a chocolate covered cherry, you will LOVE this combo. For our backstage cake we chose a more classic combo: vanilla chocolate chunk with chocolate ganache. Equally as delicious and perfect for those guests who have a simpler palette. Thank you so much, Nutmeg, for helping make our wedding day perfect!! We can't wait to return for more cakes in the future.

We loved our wedding cake from Nutmeg and Meg & team were great to work with! We got married in Philadelphia but live in Miami, and it was nice that we were able to pick up a tasting box when we were in town, fly home with it, and do our tasting in Miami. Communication, delivery, etc. was all great!

Amazing cake, vanilla bean cake with lemon curd and passion fruit icing. I was more than pleased with my first cake from Nutmeg, Meg is wonderful and her staff is warm and friendly.. made my special day one in a million I will definitely be back for sure again and again...the macarons are mind blowing.. everything is was delicious.

Contracting Nutmeg Cake Design, was hands down one of the easiest and best decisions I made for my wedding this past July. Initially meeting Meg and having our first consultation with her was such a special experience. She took the time to get to know us as a couple, to understand our likes / dislikes, vision, define what cake flavor combinations best represented us and ensure alignment with the overall design aesthetic of the wedding + venue throughout the entire process. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the cake tasting process was equally as magical. Nutmeg has mastered their cake tasting presentation and Meg sends her couples home with a package of individually curated vignettes of their most delicious cake / buttercream creations along with the latest issue of Philadelphia Wedding Magazine. Let me tell you that this was some of the most fun my husband and I had throughout our entire wedding planning process! It was packaged so well that we were able to taste test at home and then rewrap our tastings, cross state lines and include our parents in the cake tasting fun as well! We worked with Meg through multiple wedding postponements due to the covid pandemic and she handled each amendment with poise and utmost professionalism. We also worked with Meg to create a custom stencil for our wedding cake design and through each step of the process Meg ensured that all of our questions, concerns and minds were at ease. On the day of our wedding, some of the best compliments we received were in regards to how scrumptious our wedding cake flavors were! Both my husband and I cannot wait to rip through our 1-year anniversary cake which is patiently waiting to be devoured in our freezer! Final point: throughout it all, Meg delivered - simply put. Wow!! Our DIL ordered a box of macarons for us to try on a recent visit to Philly. These cookies were perfection! Exquisite in both their presentation and taste, we had a beautiful assortment of colors and flavors. Do not hesitate to place an order, you will definitely enjoy the treat!

I've only ordered their toogoodtogo here and the cakes and cookies are delicious! The cakes are really dense and sweet, however the icing isn't as bad. It's located in some back parking lot where you have to know on the door but the workers are always super nice! Also a nice treat to have !

I highly recommend Nutmeg Cake Design. I was first introduced to this business via Too Good to Go -- we have had their cake parfaits, mini cupcakes, macarons, and other cookies. Everything they make is amazing and we jump on the chance to get a treat any time we can! When my daughter's birthday rolled around, it was a no brainer where we would order from. We shared we were having a colorful art party and asked for a cupcake design that would fit. They came out GORGEOUS with vibrant colors and so delicious! My daughter and her friends were over the moon! What isn't apparent from the picture is that they have the nicest staff in the universe. We have interacted with a few folks and they are always so happy and genuinely nice. Combined with their amazing high quality work, this is certainly a small business worth supporting. I can't wait for our next event so get more delicious treats! Thanks for helping us create great birthday memories!

All around great experience! I ordered a cake for my nephew's 16th birthday. He wanted a football themed funfetti cake and it turned out absolutely perfect! When first placing the order, they were really great at making design suggestions, which I appreciated. The design came out way better than I even imagined it would - their attention to detail is phenomenal. The cake itself was some of the best I've ever had - oh and the buttercream icing is excellent! Note for those picking up - Pick up was quick and easy, but their location can be a little tricky to find at first because GPS takes you to the other end of the block. If you follow the directions that they list on their website, you should be able to find it pretty easily. They also have signage at the entrance of the parking lot so be on the lookout.

Meg and her team made a beautiful cake for my daughter. My daughter is a toddler so I kept the cake flavour simple, vanilla and chocolate buttercream. My daughter absolutely LOVED the cake and it was delicious. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Love this place! I love ordering the macarons for people's birthdays. Just had a cake tasting box with 10 different flavors and I couldn't decide which was the best! So amazing and everything turns out so freaking cute

I've had the pleasure of having many of their cakes. I am very sincere when I say this is the best cake I've ever eaten in my life. And I've eaten a lot of cake in my life.

Nutmeg came highly recommended to me from a friend who had previously ordered 2 cakes with Meg. I knew that for my mom's 60th birthday, I wanted to go all out with a cake and emailed Meg a few months in advance, because I know she fills up quick for requests! Meg was very responsive to questions and ideas and we came up with a tennis themed cake. She had an idea to make it rectangular instead of circular and I let her do the rest! I chose vanilla chocolate chip cake and vanilla buttercream- boring to some but I am not very adventurous with cake flavors! The cake came out AMAZING. Everyone was blown away by how good it looked and some did not even realize it was a cake because it looked so perfect! It was also absolutely delicious, everyone said it was one of the best cakes they had ever tasted. The cake was made for 20 people but it easily fed 31 people with generous slices and there was still leftovers to take home! The price was very reasonable for how personalized it was and how much clear attention to detail went into the design. Can't thank Meg and her crew enough and will definitely order again whenever I need a special occasion cake!

If you get cake here, whether you like standard flavors or are looking for something more unique, you will not be disappointed. Orange olive oil, cookies and cream, Earl Grey, and almond cake are some of my favorites. I usually don't like buttercream, but these frostings are so good. If you're a Nutella fan, Nutella buttercream frosting is mmmmmm.

Meg, the owner was so great to work with last year for our wedding!!! The cake was De-licious! Chocolate cake with strawberry filling and champagne cake with raspberry filling. All gilded with gold leaf! A masterpiece So for our 1st Anniversary we ordered a duplicate cake!!! 6/23/2020 can not come soon enough!!! Thanks Meg!!! Yes, 2020 is here and for our 1st Anniversary we ordered another wedding cake and again it was a masterpiece!!! Meg delivered to our home in NJ and it was the highlight of our party!!! Too good to go- so I ordered a mystery bag with too good to go and got several slices of cake with buttercream on the side. The cakes were moist and delicious. We got pistachio, orange olive oil, red velvet, and cookies and cream. It was a great value for the price. I could only imagine our delicious their full cakes are.

Cakes are to die for! So rich and unique flavors. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Highly recommend!

Ordered vanilla chocolate chip with vanilla icing. It is a beautifully made cake, easy covid friendly pick up and it was easy to place an order. The staff was very responsive via email. Beautiful picture worthy cake. The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because it is very much a dense cake, I prefer a lighter airy cake.

Meg's Cake is ridiculously delicious! She is very nice and easy to communicate. I got my wedding cake here and everyone loves it! It is beautiful and tasteful! My husband said the taste is even greater than the trial we got. I highly recommend the champagne flavor. Can't wait to get another cake from Nutmeg!

Great service and cupcakes. I contacted them the Monday of the same week I needed an order of 2 dozen mini red velvet cupcakes. I was able to place the order online, select a pick up time and be in and out with no problem. The cupcakes were a little browner than I expected so I had to try one and make sure It was red velvet and not chocolate but It was! The cream cheese frosting with the red velvet cake was a great pairing. Not too thick not too sweet. I would order again.

Nutmeg makes the absolute best cake. We got a cake for my 30th and my fiancé (who doesn't really like cake or buttercream) loved it so much he wanted one for his birthday! We just had our first slices of his cake and couldn't be happier. We can't recommend this bakery enough!

Do yourself a favor and get your wedding cake from Nutmeg! I ordered a cake and cookie favors for my sister's bridal shower and everyone was blown away! The cake was delicious - even non-cake eaters couldn't get enough! And the cookies were so adorable and yummy! Everyone sent pictures of themselves enjoying the cookies later that day! Beyond being an extremely talented baker, Meg is an artist - making each cake / cookie design a work of art! Meg is extremely talented and easy to work with!

We can't say enough good things about Meg and her work! We originally found her through her Instagram account, which is filled with images of gorgeous cakes that are all unique works of art. They are quite honestly the most beautiful cakes that I've ever seen. Most importantly, however, these cakes are every bit as delicious as they are stunning. Meg doesn't make it especially easy to choose a flavor (they're all so tasty!), but we are very satisfied with our choice of chocolate chip cake with vanilla buttercream. Our guests approved of our choice, as well! Real quotes from family and friends include: "This is the *best* cake that I've ever had," and "I don't think that I can ever eat cake from anywhere else again." Behind her skill as both an artist and a baker, Meg is also simply lovely and so wonderful to work with. Our cake tasting was one of our favorite experiences during our engagement. Meg took such care in welcoming us into her kitchen, taking time to listen to what we wanted both aesthetically and flavor-wise, and working with us to create a cake that was perfect for us and our event. As a plus, the cake samples are generous :) We loved working with Meg and can't recommend her highly enough. We are already looking for our next excuse to place another order...

Meg is my sugar queen. Her baked goods are the tastiest, most delicious things ever and I'm almost embarrassed by how many I put away at once. After attending a few events with Meg's sweets, I asked Meg to make 100 cookies and macarons for Valentine's Day. I ordered them way later than I should have (like I ordered the week before V Day), but she sweetly accommodated me and even ordered a custom cookie cutter to match my business. Meg is pretty much the cutest, sweetest person and honestly her baked goods will change your life.
