Cute place, poor selection. I didn't find anything I wanted but enjoyed looking around!

Local here. Shop hours are Tue-Fri 12-4 and Sat 12-5 in summer. A few of us have asked Google to update the hours, including the owner, but they haven’t. We can’t control what Google posts and/or does or doesn’t update! That being said, Nye Beach Bookhouse is one of those places that makes our town special. It's my go-to spot and the owner always knows exactly what I'm looking for (even when I don't)! Plus, I’m always greeted by the sweet shop dog! If you haven't stopped by yet, you're missing out on a true local treasure!

An excellent example of what makes the Oregon Coast so wonderful and unique! An old house full of books with a friendly shop dog and an owner who can't hide her love of books. Great selection of local and general interest books. Check the hours before you visit, since they are not open every day, but it is worth timing your visit so you can stop by while in Newport!

Kitschy and cute bookstore with wide, eclectic collection. Beautiful location, the owner is very friendly and the "shop dog", called Meggie (how sweet a name is that!), adorable. Don't miss this shop if you're near Newport!

Quaint little beach area with lots of unique shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming here. A great place to slow down and enjoy the moment!

A small, quality used bookstore in the Nye Beach area of Newport. Well worth browsing through an ecletic selection of books. Located about a block from the Sylvia Beach hotel.

Great selection of classics. Well curated/organized and book inventory is (generally) good-excellent condition. I really enjoyed this bookstore. Found and bought the 1977 1st edition James Audubon 2 vol. Selected Birds & Quadrupeds of North America in new condition...a very nice find at a very fair price. Lots of interesting and collectible books here!!!

I had originally planned to check out two cafes by Nye Beach with a return visit to Newport (8/31/24). I made a right turn and found a parking spot right in front of Nye Beach Book House. Never been, I decided to check it out, especially as supporter of indie bookstores. The past four days I've stopped by bookstores in Bandon, Waldsport, Manzanita, and Lincoln City. It's always feels like a combo of adventure, treasure hunt, and spontaneity checking out the shelves. Made it up the stairs, opened the door gate, and greeted the presumed owner. She was very welcoming and offered assistance to any genre of interest in the bookstore. Always a good sign when others were also actively browsing. I always make a beeline to cookbooks. I found a particular title of interest, became giddy, and definitely will make the sale. To be fair, I did wander other sections too. Well arranged, well curated, and that bookstore scent. Looks like cash transactions are preferred over cards, just an fyi. Thankfully, my purchase was an even twenty bucks. Completed my purchase and wished the owner a good day. I wish I knew the journey of how this title and particular find found its way to Nye Beach Book House. I also wonder how folks with mobility limitations can visit this book store with stairs and its tight spots for maneuverbility. Me being a notorious klutz, I made sure to take care going up and down the stairs. A spontaneous visit and finding this title, I later discover it's worth over five to nearly seven times what was paid. This bookstore is quirky, unique, and definitely worth a visit for any bibliophile!

LOVE!! cutest book store! i've been to nye beach a million times before and this is my first time coming here and it was the best surprise. there's a sweet pup that gets to hangout which is a huge plus for me! found a few really cool books and enjoyed every second. The woman who runs it is super sweet too, high recommended stopping by!

This was a great little shop, full of fun finds. The owner was friendly and helpful, and I loved seeing a happy pup behind the counter. :) We will definitely make this a stop anytime we are in Newport.

I walked in to the porch area and was blasted by a STRONG animal odor, there was also a wood baby gate blocking the door, I turned around and left. Super disappointed.

I like to shop local and order my books through Nye Book House rather than online. The owner Ulrike has been fantastic at getting me the books I want affordably and quickly. We also buy books off the shelf when we're in the store.

Locally owned, independent bookstore in an old house with a lived-in feel. There's usually an animal or two in here, behind the counter or following a customer. Large selection up to the ceiling in some places. The owner is very friendly and runs the store herself. She knows her inventory really well and can help you find anything. Eclectic selection of hardcovers, soft covers, new and old, first editions, limited editions, you name it. She's got local authors and independently distributed books. It's really a fun place to look around. Prices are reasonable and books are in good shape.

I love this place. When most people come to Newport, they want to either go to their favorite seafood restaurant or go grab a Rogue beer. I, on the other hand, love to come to this bookstore. It's small, cramped, and smells like used books. It's AMAZING. I love bookstores and I love used bookstores even more. This place does have some new books, but most are previously loved :) I always find at least one gem in here -- I usually have to control myself from buying a zillion books.

Great used bookstore in the Nye Beach district. In a house so it feels comfy and lived in. The lady that owns it is super nice and knows her books. Love supporting locally owned shops.

Great find! Nice variety of books to browse through. Shop owner is lovely and even went up to her living area to get me a book she just read and thought I might enjoy. I did! Headed back soon.

Cute used book store, i always find something to take home here. The owner is very nice and helpful. It's located right next to Nye beach, I'd definitely check out this little part of town if you're in Newport.

The perfect little book shop, complete with Shop Dog. The owner was sweet and helpful, the dog was cute, and the books were plentiful (stacked to the ceiling, tucked into every book and cranny), varied amongst every topic you can think of, and fairly priced. And the shopping bags were hand colored by one of the employees. We will be back whenever we're in Newport!

Awesome bookstore in Nye Beach. Great selection of new and used books complete with a shop dog and very helpful owner. I can always find a good read here.
