Party of 4, we were so looking forward to trying this restaurant out, we drove over an hour there. I'm stumped because what we did like we loved, but what we didn't like was not liked at all, not even ok. The ambiance is a casual-upscale, adult time, leave kids at home (also inside casino). To start, one beer was out, then ordered the next draft beer the server said the draft system is down. Then later in the evening she served another table the same beer in a bottle - we were told was out.
Appetizers: oysters, those were not fresh. They had a seafood, fishy taste and after taste, fresh oyster do not taste that way. No fresh seafood should actually have that taste. I ate one and was too in doubt to eat anymore. Tuna tartar, flavorless. I was just chewing textures and tasting the cracker. On the other hand, Bacon app was delicious! Thick candied bacon, perfectly crispy and the savory corn bread was a great compliment.
Entrees: scallops were delicious! Perfectly seared in a delightful sauce. Lamb chop was good, filet was good, tender but undercooked, it was ordered medium served more rare. Boned NY Strip - ordered medium and overcooked, tough not tender. Disappointed in that one the most because it's a $69 steak that was not enjoyed!
The sides were all delicious, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, lobster Mac and cheese (this was so good!), Brussels sprouts need some more work!
Service was ok, the server was very sweet but not too knowledgeable on food items.
Overall, for fine dining, the food needs some attention to detail. Our bill was just under $500 and I mentioned everything we ordered. I'm bummed, I was really hoping to be more impressed.
