John Leguizamo’s Grub Street Diet

"I went to O Cafe for breakfast a few times — a Brazilian joint where I had their vegetarian frittata and a small whole-milk cappuccino (two sugars), and I couldn’t resist the pan de queso, that warm cheesy yucca-flour bread. I also loved their coconut-chia pudding topped with cocoa nibs and toasted seeds; their small cappuccino is a reliable pick-me-up." - Vanita Salisbury

Google
This is a eeally cute cafe. The food was so delicious!! I wanted to buy every single pastry, it all looks so good. The staff was also very nice. I will definitely come back here.

The food and drinks were so yummy, I had the strawberry matcha latte and the salmon special. My friend had iced tea and the country breakfast. I would say the one negative is that it's super loud inside, they do have patio seating, but just a heads up if you're noise sensitive some loop earplugs or patio seating might be better.

Summer B.

Google
My absolute favorite breakfast place! The hot matcha and omelet are sooo good. You must try their avocado toast or even their French toast with the yogurt parfait absolutely divine. The owner is amazing and very nice to the customers. Will always come back here such a nice atmosphere.

There is something quite magique about this place. The authenticity of the food, the charming atmosphere, the music, the decor—it's as if it was made just for the old romantic soul. I bring my books every week and lose myself utterly in the spirit of O Café. My choice today was the Paris Brest, which I thought to be most delectable. Crispy on the outside, delicate and sweet on the inside. Like many of the other Pâtisseries on the menu, it was modest on the palate, yet extravagant in its presentation, not like you would find American sweets to be: overly-sweet and yet dull in appearance. I am thankful for such good food, such pleasant music, and for the continuous hospitality of the delightful staff at O Café.

Google
What a wonderful spot for small parties and couples for brunch! The bakery items are fantastic, gotta try them all! It's so nice to find a spot that just feels relaxing to enjoy eating at. Very comfortable small town atmosphere. Our meals were excellent, and we will be back often!

Google
Nice place with decent sandwiches and good service. We got the salmon sandwich and the pulled pork cubana. It came with a nice side salad. The salmon was good but just didn’t have much salmon but had a fried egg in it. The cubana was better with a good sauce nice chunks of habaneros in it. It just had a better flavor. Outdoor seating is a very nice plus.

Google
Wow! The best breakfast we’ve had in a long time! My Pain Perdu was amazing and my wife’s omelette was superb. Great presentation and sides too. And be sure you order an apricot danish - they were fabulous!

Google
Took my daughter here for a quick snack. The kitchen was already closed so we just got things in the bakery cold case. We got a few different desserts including a cookie, a cup of tomato bisque soup, and a ham and cheese croissant. The food was okay. My daughter said the cookie was dry and did not eat most of it. The soup was pretty good and the croissant was okay as well due to the strange cheese on it. The indoor seating area is very charming. Love the chicken decor which goes well with the old town Fair Oaks famous chickens that roam the area

Yelp
Very cute cafe. Service was excellent and there are so many options for foods and drinks (it's actually quite overwhelming). The coffee was delightful, and the raspberry scone was soft and moist. But the star of the show - ham and cheese croissant (with scrambled egg added). This was delicious; I don't know what the sauce was (some sort of gravy) but it made the sandwich fantastic. I will definitely be back

Yelp
A Parisian-themed cafe. We have been here a few times to pick up pastries to go. Our family's favorite is the berry scone. The almond croissant is good too! Today we decided to try their breakfast offerings. We ordered the breakfast burrito and the avocado toast with eggs. The burrito was good. The toast was not what I had expected. See photo. It is more like have salsa and guacamole served with bread sticks. The "guacamole" was too salty for my preference. I don't recommend the avocado toast. Would go back for their pastries and perhaps try some of the European desserts.

Yelp
Met a friend here for the first time, and can't say enough of how cute this place was. The lady at the counter was super friendly and knowledgeable. She recommended great drinks and pastries.. The O cafe has the cutest Paris theme decor. It's spread all over and not to much just done right. I had the Key lime pie and it knocked out the park. Super delicious and done just right ! So if you are in the area stop by and grab some coffee and pastry's!

Yelp
Service is really wonderful. The ambiance is okay - it's a small place without a ton of seating options especially if you make it in during any of the times you would want café foods. The carrot cake is probably the best carrot cake I've had in the area - perfectly spongy with a stunning carrot flavor perfectly balanced by warm spices and just the right amount of frosting. The almond pear tart base is overly dense and lacks enough sugar or flavor to impart any kind of flavor and ends up just being a bland, dense paste. The filling is alright, heavily relying on the almond paste flavor that you almost lose the pear flavor. The drinks are average, and in a blind taste between their drinks and my homemade attempts I don't think I could differentiate.

Yelp
This is located in the fair oaks village. This is such a gem. I love the old town ambiance and the feeling of home cooked meal and bakery. They have an amazing selection of bake goods from cookies, pastries, cakes and pies. The sandwiches, soup and salads are so fresh and prepared to perfection. The service is absolutely amazing and they are attentive to your needs. I know where I can go for a quick great coffee and pastry next time.

Yelp
Update after sampling several other dishes SERVICE: counter style, fast AMBIANCE: really cozy, perfect for single diners FLAVORS: Ham and cheese croissant (4/5) - I'm a saucy person so I'd prefer more but that's subjective Sausage friand (3.5/5) - the sauce is intact inside the pastry so it makes for a messy and uneven combination when you try to compose a bite Quiche Lorraine (5/5) - does have strong herbal notes and caramelized onions so beware if that's not your jam PORTIONS: tasteful and moderate PRICE: appropriate Bonus tip: can get quite loud because of acoustics depending on crowd size

Yelp
Wow... this place is an experience and I'm not sure how I didn't know it was here!! The pastries are beautiful and delicious... the breakfasts are unmatched in the US... and it was so hade to choose pastries we shared 3... the atmosphere is down to earth yet eclectic... with fine art on the walls... handwritten menus, and the Eiffel Tower... the staff and potentially owner are passionate about what they make and sell... the food was very quick and oh so delicious!!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for baked goods and locally owned businesses. O Cafe hits the marks. The service is always friendly and there is a fair amount of indoor and outdoor seatings. I've enjoyed everything I've had there. They make great breakfasts and delicious cakes and other baked goods. A must try if you haven't been.

Yelp
Possibly one of my favorite cafes in the Sacramento area- The food was delectable, there were so many options. The prices were super reasonable. The quiche was sooo good. The desserts were very rich and super high quality. Lots of options for desserts, coffee, snacks and lunch items. The service was great- very friendly staff. The cafe had an older school vibe- there was outdoor seating and some inside. Parking wasn't terrible.

Yelp
I like the vibe of O Café. I arrived around 11:30 on a Sunday morning. They were somewhat busy, but not packed. I ordered a pastry and a latte--they gave me the pastry and a number, and I sat down to wait. After about 15-20 minutes, with staff walking by my table, no one checked in to see if I was still waiting. Finally, a gentleman asked if I was still expecting something, and when I said yes, he admitted my coffee order had been overlooked. The latte eventually came, but I didn't really get a sense of empathy from the staff--it was just set down quickly and that was that. It seemed like the regulars were getting prompt, attentive service, but as a first-time visitor, my experience felt overlooked.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place with my friend and we loved it! She got a veggie frittata that was delicious and my egg sandwich was very tasty. They also have some nice drinks- I got a yummy blackberry mint lemonade. The vibes inside are cute and cozy and the service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Another place we like to ride our bikes to with the kids. They do a good breakfast and have great pies.

Yelp
I love love love the O Cafe! I wanted to leave a review for a while now. I was going to this place before it opened as the O. At first, I thought what a funny name! Checked it out, and it checks off all my boxes. I just wish it were open longer, so I could take my family there for meals sometimes. I've never had anything there that I didn't like. Always beautiful always delicious. The people that work there are kind and helpful. The place has such a pleasant vibe. I like to go by myself when I want to be treated too homemade food at lunchtime usually. Or a late breakfast. You are loving yourself when you're eating a good meal at the O Cafe.

Yelp
The place is so cute and in fair oaks that I have never been it was fun to see this cafe. The pastries and food were amazing, the drinks were original and tasted fabulous. The service was awesome the young lady recommended the drink and key lime pie which knocked it out the park.

Yelp
I've been at this establishment several times and I'm never disappointed. It gets busy for brunch, but after Saturday morning Run, this is a nice spot to grab hot coffee, latt, amazing collection of pastries or brunch. Lately the salmon toast is my goto meal.

Yelp
O Cafe is one of my favorite cafes in the area! I came by on Sunday (2.23) for a late lunch with my friend. It was about 2 pm and they close at 3 pm but they were still fairly busy. I like how clean it always is and that there's plenty of seating on the inside and outside as well. We wanted to be mindful of their closing time so we quickly ordered. The cashier was super sweet and friendly! My friend and I both got the BLT sandwich but I customized mine to be vegetarian. Their focaccia bread is SO GOOD, I always get the same thing when we come by! We were very pleased with our lunch and will continue to come back whenever we're in the area. 4.5/5!

Yelp
Relaxing ambient with various food options for everyone. Flavors of the things were tried were ok. The crepe was pretty dry. Liked the idea of having a diy smoothie as an option.

Yelp
Another great breakfast at the O. Croque madam was a really nice change from the traditional and a good scone. Also the people working the counter are always great.

Yelp
Super cute cafe with counter ordering, indoor and outdoor dining, and clean bathrooms. Was busy on a Thursday morning at 10 am but found a seat right away and were finished eating by 10:35 bc the food was out so fast. The coffee was delicious as was the food: Croque Madame: 5/5. Egg was a perfect over medium ( where they rarely are at most places) and the salad was a refreshing side to the rich main. The mint in the salad would be better chopped than thrown in whole but still a good bite with the basalmic vinaigrette. Eggs Benedict w Salmon: 4/5. Also served with a refreshing side salad and hash browns that were crispy but a little dry. Would def go back to try something else.

Yelp
Love the upside down muffin! I call-in in advance to request to order 36 muffin and they accomodated it! Love the place!

Yelp
This is a seat yourself restaurant indoor or outdoor. Counter service only. The staff were friendly. However, they do deliver your food to the table. We ordered two of the Omelets Make your own with all of the ingredients. The food was fresh, delicious and flavorful. There was Blues music playing which, was definitely different. Before leaving we purchased pastries to go. We Will Be Back
google avatar

Yelp
Service is friendly. It was quite crowded and parking is kind of limited but it's thankfully not at a busy road so I wasn't too stressed finding a spot. - Almond croissant was delicious! 5/5 - Smoothie was not my taste. 3/5 I was hoping for more of a blended smoothies with real fruit but it's more of a fruit syrup kind of drink Very nice and cozy place

Yelp
Delicious little slice of France in old town fair oaks. You order at the counter and they bring your food out and buss the tables. Good and friendly service. They have the best galettes I have tried outside of France. Absolutely delicious, but left me a little hungry...I would get two next time for myself haha. Everything is homemade and the case of pastries is beautiful. I can't wait to come back and try more!!!

Yelp
Decided to give this place a second try, last time I got the hot white mocha and it was okay drinkable, this time I got it iced and I knew it was made poorly as soon as they handed it to me base off the color. It was 95% milk, 3% ice, 1% creamer and 1% coffee. It was not drinkable. Waste of 7 dollars. Ambiance was fair it seemed like they didn't have their air conditioning on it was pretty hot inside.

Yelp
The O Cafe is the perfect spot if you want fresh made farm to fork breakfast or lunch! They have unique creative dishes always served with a kind smile. Dot even get me started with their fresh baked cookies, fruit tarts, chocolatey treats and much much more. This Cafe is located in Old Town Fair Oaks California. This restaurant is a nostalgic place for me to go as my parents owned an auto parts business back in the late 70's early 80's. I love the way the restaurant is set up, almost every table offers enough privacy so you don't feel like you have to be whispering. Sorry I literally forget to take pictures, I'm to busy eating!

Yelp
Went with friends. They loved their food but mine was meh! I was excited to get avocado toast but truly it was bread with a side of guacamole. Not at all Avocado toast.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with my mom. My mom frequents here it was my first time. Great vibe good food restaurant was clean. You ordered at counter get a number and they bring it to you. Good service.

Yelp
Ordered the Carmel macchiato ($6) and Pain Perdue with extra yogurt in a small dip container ($2.85 up charge, $16.37), and the Opera House cake . Total was about $30. The location is in a cute two road area of Fair Oaks, and can be busy - you order at the register then sit down to enjoy your food/drinks. It gets quite busy, so prepare for the wait in line, or have someone save a seat, inside or outside, while you wait for your order. Decor is a blend of farm house vibes with eclectic world traveler living in the south. Very cute setting , friendly waitstaff, and respectful patrons. I would have liked the caramel macchiato to be a little sweeter, but the espresso was strong - huge plus. It's a 4/5 rating because the portion of french toast for the pain Perdue were at most two slices, divided into four. So, if you're hungry, order food that will fill you up.

Yelp
My friend invited me to this cafe and we had a very tasty meal and drink. the potatoes were a little burnt

Yelp
This is a Fair Oaks Village GEM. If you ask me, best breakfast in town. Vibe is: bustling Parisian cafe with hot coffee and fresh baked pastries. What I love: the friendly folks at the counter, excellent black coffee and the pastries are next level. Best meringue (cookie bars?). Hard to describe. Not a little puff but a bar. My 5 year old is a big fan. If you like avocado toast, you MUST try theirs. Toasted focaccia slices with an avocado spread on the side. The win? No soggy bread! Get the avocado toast with a side of eggs and you have a delish breakfast. They also have buckwheat crepes that are to die for. Country breakfast is also good. They have the cutest petite French toast plate with a side of fruit and yogurt parfait. I LOVE THE AMBIENCE. Always nice music playing. Friendliest staff keeps us coming back. They get busy, go early if you want a specific pastry as they sell out. They bust their tails all week, closed on Mondays.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
The salmon toast is great and I love the hot chocolate best I've ever had I have been there 4 times since my friend recommended

JuJu B.

Yelp
Amazing pastries & desserts. Their salmon quiche and almond croissants are amazing! Really wonderful quality and flavor.

Yelp
A new place for us. The food is excellent and the service wonderful. Certainly a new stopping point for us for breakfast every couple of weeks. Parking is not a problem in the mornings.

Yelp
We just enjoyed another wonderful breakfast at O Café. The food is so fresh and delicious and the pastries are unbelievable. If you're anywhere near Fair Oaks, don't miss a chance to stop here.

Yelp
Delicious food and they give a lot of coffee! Service is great. My friend brought her dog so we sat on the patio which was a little small but worked. Laid back neighborhood feel. Loved it!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food, great pastry, we love coming here on the weekends. Service is great too, (even though it's primarily self serve.) it's a cute and casual cafe.

Lee J.

Yelp
Their desserts are plentiful and very delicious. I like the Paris Breast the best, plenty of delicious filling.

Yelp
I went with my friend to treat her and celebrate her birthday! It was a while since I had been there- tables and chairs were rearranged and there were room dividers to give a little more privacy. Food was delicious as always.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend this small jewel of a Rwstaurant. Truly great food, desserts, and friendly staff. Owner is truly French and works the kitchen mainly. The ambience is also cool. It has a bohemian-artistic-jazzy vibe. Small place. So, it may be hard to find a table in certain days. Everything is tops and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back many times. Bon Appetite

Melissa T.

Yelp
Place was packed but staff was great at helping create a welcoming space. Brunch was perfect and beautifully plated. I'll be back to try dessert ASAP :)

Yelp
O Café in Fair Oaks Village is a true gem. A European style patisserie and cafe, there is a little something here for everyone. The interior is incredibly charming, and its a great spot to bring the family or meet up with friends for a coffee or brunch. My mom and I were here recently at lunchtime, and it was busy but the line to order moved quickly. She ordered the warm goat cheese salad, and I got the frittata. If you have a sweet tooth, they have a great selection of yummy pastries and parfaits. They also offer a full espresso bar in addition to cold drinks like iced tea and lemonade. I had a latte with my brunch, and it was delicious. The food came out pretty quickly, and everything tasted amazing! The ingredients they use are super fresh, and you can taste that in the quality of the food. I loved my frittata. There were fresh veggies, tangy goat cheese, and it was well seasoned. My mom also loved her warm goat cheese salad. I was skeptical at first but the proof was in the taste buds! It was awesome. My hubby was jealous that we went without him, so I will definitely be bringing him back here for brunch soon!
google avatar

Diane R.

Yelp
The pastries here are fresh and coffee is good. We love the hometown atmosphere and great service when we come here. You order at the counter and may sit inside at one of the tables inside. They will bring your food and drink. There are is a outside area with tables for parties of 8. Free parking on the street. No problem finding a table on a weekend morning.
google avatar

Elaine J.

Yelp
Cozy atmosphere, delicious menu and friendly staff. The pastries alone are worth stopping for!
