John Leguizamo’s Grub Street Diet

"I went to O Cafe for breakfast a few times — a Brazilian joint where I had their vegetarian frittata and a small whole-milk cappuccino (two sugars), and I couldn’t resist the pan de queso, that warm cheesy yucca-flour bread. I also loved their coconut-chia pudding topped with cocoa nibs and toasted seeds; their small cappuccino is a reliable pick-me-up." - Vanita Salisbury

Google
This is a eeally cute cafe. The food was so delicious!! I wanted to buy every single pastry, it all looks so good. The staff was also very nice. I will definitely come back here.

Google
The food and drinks were so yummy, I had the strawberry matcha latte and the salmon special. My friend had iced tea and the country breakfast. I would say the one negative is that it's super loud inside, they do have patio seating, but just a heads up if you're noise sensitive some loop earplugs or patio seating might be better.

Summer B.

Google
My absolute favorite breakfast place! The hot matcha and omelet are sooo good. You must try their avocado toast or even their French toast with the yogurt parfait absolutely divine. The owner is amazing and very nice to the customers. Will always come back here such a nice atmosphere.

Google
What a wonderful spot for small parties and couples for brunch! The bakery items are fantastic, gotta try them all! It's so nice to find a spot that just feels relaxing to enjoy eating at. Very comfortable small town atmosphere. Our meals were excellent, and we will be back often!

Google
Nice place with decent sandwiches and good service. We got the salmon sandwich and the pulled pork cubana. It came with a nice side salad. The salmon was good but just didn’t have much salmon but had a fried egg in it. The cubana was better with a good sauce nice chunks of habaneros in it. It just had a better flavor. Outdoor seating is a very nice plus.

Google
Wow! The best breakfast we’ve had in a long time! My Pain Perdu was amazing and my wife’s omelette was superb. Great presentation and sides too. And be sure you order an apricot danish - they were fabulous!

Cool B.

Google
This place was recommended because they made their pastries in-house. We ordered the chocolate bomb dessert and a mocha. The chocolate dessert was fantastic, and the mocha was pretty good. We will definitely be coming back for more of their great pastries and espresso drinks. The employee who helped us at O' Cafe was nice and friendly, very helpful and definitely knowledgeable. This place is so much better for espresso drinks than the Fair Oaks Cafe.

Google
Love O Caffe! I bring each of my kids here once a week before school so we can spend time together. This place is an absolute gem and nothing comes close to it in the area. It's rare to find places like this that make everything from scratch and at such high quality. My go to is the breakfast egg sandwich and I usually get a baked treat as a dessert. Both of my kids love it as well and we've been going down the menu trying different dishes and desserts. The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming. Relaxed casual ambiance and very characteristic of Old Fair Oaks. Give them a try and be adventures with your choices, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Stumbled across this place with my friend and we loved it! She got a veggie frittata that was delicious and my egg sandwich was very tasty. They also have some nice drinks- I got a yummy blackberry mint lemonade. The vibes inside are cute and cozy and the service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Service is friendly. It was quite crowded and parking is kind of limited but it's thankfully not at a busy road so I wasn't too stressed finding a spot. - Almond croissant was delicious! 5/5 - Smoothie was not my taste. 3/5 I was hoping for more of a blended smoothies with real fruit but it's more of a fruit syrup kind of drink Very nice and cozy place
google avatar

Yelp
Update after sampling several other dishes SERVICE: counter style, fast AMBIANCE: really cozy, perfect for single diners FLAVORS: Ham and cheese croissant (4/5) - I'm a saucy person so I'd prefer more but that's subjective Sausage friand (3.5/5) - the sauce is intact inside the pastry so it makes for a messy and uneven combination when you try to compose a bite Quiche Lorraine (5/5) - does have strong herbal notes and caramelized onions so beware if that's not your jam PORTIONS: tasteful and moderate PRICE: appropriate Bonus tip: can get quite loud because of acoustics depending on crowd size
google avatar

Yelp
Relaxing ambient with various food options for everyone. Flavors of the things were tried were ok. The crepe was pretty dry. Liked the idea of having a diy smoothie as an option.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a second try, last time I got the hot white mocha and it was okay drinkable, this time I got it iced and I knew it was made poorly as soon as they handed it to me base off the color. It was 95% milk, 3% ice, 1% creamer and 1% coffee. It was not drinkable. Waste of 7 dollars. Ambiance was fair it seemed like they didn't have their air conditioning on it was pretty hot inside.

Yelp
Ordered the Carmel macchiato ($6) and Pain Perdue with extra yogurt in a small dip container ($2.85 up charge, $16.37), and the Opera House cake . Total was about $30. The location is in a cute two road area of Fair Oaks, and can be busy - you order at the register then sit down to enjoy your food/drinks. It gets quite busy, so prepare for the wait in line, or have someone save a seat, inside or outside, while you wait for your order. Decor is a blend of farm house vibes with eclectic world traveler living in the south. Very cute setting , friendly waitstaff, and respectful patrons. I would have liked the caramel macchiato to be a little sweeter, but the espresso was strong - huge plus. It's a 4/5 rating because the portion of french toast for the pain Perdue were at most two slices, divided into four. So, if you're hungry, order food that will fill you up.

Yelp
I've been at this establishment several times and I'm never disappointed. It gets busy for brunch, but after Saturday morning Run, this is a nice spot to grab hot coffee, latt, amazing collection of pastries or brunch. Lately the salmon toast is my goto meal.

Yelp
O Cafe is one of my favorite cafes in the area! I came by on Sunday (2.23) for a late lunch with my friend. It was about 2 pm and they close at 3 pm but they were still fairly busy. I like how clean it always is and that there's plenty of seating on the inside and outside as well. We wanted to be mindful of their closing time so we quickly ordered. The cashier was super sweet and friendly! My friend and I both got the BLT sandwich but I customized mine to be vegetarian. Their focaccia bread is SO GOOD, I always get the same thing when we come by! We were very pleased with our lunch and will continue to come back whenever we're in the area. 4.5/5!

Yelp
This is a seat yourself restaurant indoor or outdoor. Counter service only. The staff were friendly. However, they do deliver your food to the table. We ordered two of the Omelets Make your own with all of the ingredients. The food was fresh, delicious and flavorful. There was Blues music playing which, was definitely different. Before leaving we purchased pastries to go. We Will Be Back

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Best Hot Chocolate I ever had and Salmon Toast is amazing Been back 2 times with friends and will be going again soon

Yelp
Delicious little slice of France in old town fair oaks. You order at the counter and they bring your food out and buss the tables. Good and friendly service. They have the best galettes I have tried outside of France. Absolutely delicious, but left me a little hungry...I would get two next time for myself haha. Everything is homemade and the case of pastries is beautiful. I can't wait to come back and try more!!!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with my mom. My mom frequents here it was my first time. Great vibe good food restaurant was clean. You ordered at counter get a number and they bring it to you. Good service.

Yelp
This is a Fair Oaks Village GEM. If you ask me, best breakfast in town. Vibe is: bustling Parisian cafe with hot coffee and fresh baked pastries. What I love: the friendly folks at the counter, excellent black coffee and the pastries are next level. Best meringue (cookie bars?). Hard to describe. Not a little puff but a bar. My 5 year old is a big fan. If you like avocado toast, you MUST try theirs. Toasted focaccia slices with an avocado spread on the side. The win? No soggy bread! Get the avocado toast with a side of eggs and you have a delish breakfast. They also have buckwheat crepes that are to die for. Country breakfast is also good. They have the cutest petite French toast plate with a side of fruit and yogurt parfait. I LOVE THE AMBIENCE. Always nice music playing. Friendliest staff keeps us coming back. They get busy, go early if you want a specific pastry as they sell out. They bust their tails all week, closed on Mondays.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food, great pastry, we love coming here on the weekends. Service is great too, (even though it's primarily self serve.) it's a cute and casual cafe.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food and they give a lot of coffee! Service is great. My friend brought her dog so we sat on the patio which was a little small but worked. Laid back neighborhood feel. Loved it!

Yelp
Great little spot in the village for a light snack and a chat! Pleasant and kind service.

Yelp
A new place for us. The food is excellent and the service wonderful. Certainly a new stopping point for us for breakfast every couple of weeks. Parking is not a problem in the mornings.

Yelp
We just enjoyed another wonderful breakfast at O Café. The food is so fresh and delicious and the pastries are unbelievable. If you're anywhere near Fair Oaks, don't miss a chance to stop here.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was great. We went on a busy evening as the tables were full and people waiting. The service was still awesome and the food came out pretty quickly. We were seated at the table that overlooked the open part of the kitchen and we enjoyed watching all the going one!! Looking forward to going back!!

Yelp
After searching yelp for over an hour looking for a new breakfast spot to try, we finally came across O cafe. We went at 11am on a Sunday and it was packed, but we were able to find seating. They have a variety of baked foods and breakfast/lunch items as well as coffee. Everything we tried was outstanding! Do yourself a favor and try the cranberry/orange Clafoutis - it is delectable!! I'd like to come back earlier in the morning as some of their baked selections were sold out. This restaurant is hidden away from the Main Street, but such a good find!

Yelp
I would definitely recommend this small jewel of a Rwstaurant. Truly great food, desserts, and friendly staff. Owner is truly French and works the kitchen mainly. The ambience is also cool. It has a bohemian-artistic-jazzy vibe. Small place. So, it may be hard to find a table in certain days. Everything is tops and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back many times. Bon Appetite

Yelp
I went with my friend to treat her and celebrate her birthday! It was a while since I had been there- tables and chairs were rearranged and there were room dividers to give a little more privacy. Food was delicious as always.
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy atmosphere, delicious menu and friendly staff. The pastries alone are worth stopping for!

Yelp
Such a warm and cute place for breakfast and lunch! Love that they bake all of their goodies and showcase it all so beautifully. Mixed Berry Scone - SO GOOD!! Probably the best consistency I've had in a really long time. It's not hard. It's not cakey. CHEFS KISS!! Also had a French dessert pastry with seasonal fig. I wish I remembered the name but my gosh that little dessert was a taste of heaven. Thanks to the team for delicious recommendations, will be back for more!! Free street parking wasn't too hard to manage on a Wednesday morning.

Yelp
I had been here a few times after a bike ride and started bringing people when they visit from out of town. The food is really good. The place is very cute and the coffee is good. Most people buy one of their sweets with their meal. They are hard to resist. I especially like how nice the workers are. Afterwards it's a nice walk around with little stores.

Yelp
This place is the cutest little cafe! The food is delicious and the owner is very sweet! Family friendly and quite unique. I will be back!

Yelp
O Café in Fair Oaks Village is a true gem. A European style patisserie and cafe, there is a little something here for everyone. The interior is incredibly charming, and its a great spot to bring the family or meet up with friends for a coffee or brunch. My mom and I were here recently at lunchtime, and it was busy but the line to order moved quickly. She ordered the warm goat cheese salad, and I got the frittata. If you have a sweet tooth, they have a great selection of yummy pastries and parfaits. They also offer a full espresso bar in addition to cold drinks like iced tea and lemonade. I had a latte with my brunch, and it was delicious. The food came out pretty quickly, and everything tasted amazing! The ingredients they use are super fresh, and you can taste that in the quality of the food. I loved my frittata. There were fresh veggies, tangy goat cheese, and it was well seasoned. My mom also loved her warm goat cheese salad. I was skeptical at first but the proof was in the taste buds! It was awesome. My hubby was jealous that we went without him, so I will definitely be bringing him back here for brunch soon!

Yelp
The pastries here are fresh and coffee is good. We love the hometown atmosphere and great service when we come here. You order at the counter and may sit inside at one of the tables inside. They will bring your food and drink. There are is a outside area with tables for parties of 8. Free parking on the street. No problem finding a table on a weekend morning.

Yelp
Neighborhood, hole in the wall, cafe located in Old Fair Oaks. Expect to see roosters roaming the area. One of the best chocolate chip cookies I've had in a while. Great selection of baked goods, desserts, and sandwiches to choose from. I recently tried their summer smoothies and it was refreshing

Yelp
Here's a cleaner, more polished version of your review while keeping the tone and sentiment intact: --- I debated whether or not to write this review because it's entirely possible my experience was unique, and others may have had more positive visits. However, I feel compelled to address this directly to the owner or chef--or whoever the man was that rudely came out and confronted us at our table. My boyfriend, a well-known and respected Fair Oaks local who *never* complains, actually spoke up on my behalf--something that caught me off guard because *I'm* usually the one to send food back when it's wrong. I ordered avocado toast with over-easy eggs, but instead, my eggs were fried to a burnt, well-done crisp. Meanwhile, my boyfriend ordered the salmon eggs benedict and loved it, and we both enjoyed the fruit parfait we shared. But the eggs? They were awful. And when my sweet boyfriend--who, again, *never* complains--politely brought it to the staff's attention, the cook (who I suspect is also the owner) came out and snidely said, *"Well, you don't expect two free eggs, do ya?"* Umm... yeah, we kind of did--because they were completely botched. And, by the way, Mr. Owner/Chef, my boyfriend happens to be the former Mayor of Fair Oaks, and he's been voted "Best of Fair Oaks" multiple times--something your staff seemed completely unaware of, despite the fact that your own business is in the running. So maybe--just maybe--if you want to stay in business, you should focus on making things right when you mess up. Until then, I won't be back. And neither will he, out of sheer principle for how we were treated.

Alisa L.

Yelp
My husband and I love this place. We've tried several pastry shops over the years but nothing compares. Service is great too!

Yelp
Smoothies is amazing Service is amazing and ambience is amazing and great it's really great place for family and kids

Yelp
I really liked their iced hazelnut latte Super cozy spot Very friendly, personable staff

Yelp
This is a super cute cafe nestled in the beautiful and tranquil Fair Oaks village, staffed with kind and helpful people and serving delightful food. Honestly, as a San Francisco native (where out of all meals brunch reigns supreme) brunch can be a bit underwhelming outside of the Bay. But O Cafe is probably one of the best brunch places around the area; the presentation, the flavors, and the vibes are immaculate. I got the Burri-Oak, which was delicious and packed full of flavor! I loved the layers of different textures and tastes. Only thing is that the tortilla was a bit thick in some parts, but other than that I'd say it was an A+ meal. I also got to try the strawberry and berry smoothies, both of which are tasty; the strawberry one is a bit more tart. And I got a bite of the ham and cheese croissant, which was warm and yummy. I'll be back to try other items if I'm in the area again!

Yelp
This place is amazing! The interior was nice. The food was hecka good i just djspdncl. It is a really good place. Also the employee talked in russian.

Yelp
Ambiance is lovely, seating in and outside of Cafe. Busy little Cafe, unique items on menu listed, wide selection of baked goods. Delayed in customer service, but overall great quality. The French toast was mediocre, nothing really special, however the salad that my bf ordered was delicious. I may just have ordered the wrong item on the menu. I also ordered a vegetarian quiche and it arrived after we were done eating, with an apology, so I appreciated that. I tried the quiche at home and wasn't for me, had a seafood type of flavor. I'd go again to try something new.
google avatar

Elaine J.

Yelp
Second visit and another great review. This time, the salmon toast, which was light and delicious. I may also have been seduced by an apricot apple cheese Danish--but no proof exists! My aunt commented, "I like their people as much as their food!" A great neighborhood spot, even if it isn't my neighborhood.
google avatar

Shana M.

Yelp
Friendly service and excellent food! So many delicious looking pastries, it was hard to choose! My husband also had an egg breakfast, which he enjoyed. We were grateful that our dogs were welcome on the patio.

Yelp
What a quaint and cozy place! My cousin lives nearby and wanted to bring me here and I'm very glad he did. You walk up and order and they bring your order to the table. The staff was very nice and friendly. I had the Croque Madam and my cousin had the Poullete sandwich (chicken). We did a split so we could try both items. They are both good in their own right. The Croque Madame was served open faced and served with a fresh salad with balsamic dressing. I'm assuming it was house made but I didn't ask. The Poullette was amazing! The bread was almost like a bruschetta, in that it was grilled over and open flame. Tasted so good! I ordered some desserts to take home. Chocolate shortbread cookies. (Kinda dry and may be moreso, not what I was expecting..I think) I grabbed a Palmier (haven't tried yet) and slice of the Oak Cake. Orangey, chocolatey and rich! Delicious. All in all I give this place 10/10 for food, service and atmosphere.
google avatar

Manny L.

Yelp
Great ambiance, great food, great service. You have to order up front but then they bring the food to you at your table. They have a great variety...gotta try it all!
google avatar

Janiah S.

Yelp
Coffee and service was good. Food was great and the croissants and scones we tried were some of the best around! This was our first time here. It's a cute little place, has a few outdoor seats. You have to wait in line to place your order and then wait for it to be delivered to your table. They have a resident chicken that is cool to watch, he likes hanging out in front in the outdoor seating area.
google avatar

Skye S.

Yelp
Ambiance was very cute, it's self seating and pretty small restaurant so it can get crowded. The food was relatively pricey and left us disappointed. The French toast was super thin slices and was over dusted with powdered sugar and was a little overcooked on the bottom. The avocado toast can with very little avocado and very crispy pieces of bread. The lattes were pretty good if you're just stopping in for coffee. Attached is the food when we got it and the second picture is how much we actually ate. Service was great

Yelp
This place does everything right: Nice atmosphere. Friendly, competent service. Solid food and excellent coffee.

Yelp
Probably the best eclair I've had, it was quite delicious. Quick, clean, and friendly - we came here and had a nice breakfast on a Sunday. My wife found this place for me as I wanted Galettes (french buckwheat crepes). The coffee was nice and strong, which was appreciated. The hash browns were really, really good. Usually, not exactly a highlight of one's meal, but these really stood out as fresh and perfectly cooked.

Yelp
Unbelievable experience this morning. My friend and I met at this cafe to do some lesson planning for our AP Computer Science classes. We have this week off so meeting at the school wasn't an option as campus is closed. My friend arrived a little before 10am and ordered a full breakfast for herself and her daughter. I arrived at 10:15 and ordered an $8 mocha. At 11:45, we were informed by a man I can only assume was the owner that the establishment was a restaurant and not an office and that they needed the table. This place offers free WiFi, leading to the assumption that it's ok to do work here. It was also half full with plenty of available seating and tables. And we would have ordered lunch at noon if we hadn't have been thrown out. This place sucks and does not support educators or students in the area. Go ahead and cross them off your list.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious chai latte with oat milk. Good deserts to choose from too. Enjoyed the outside seating. Definitely plan to come back when in the area. Fast WiFi. Great service.
