A cozy surf-themed café in Paris, this spot serves creative brunch fare and artisanal coffee on a lovely terrace, making it the perfect breakfast hideaway.
"This surf-inspired coffee shop, owned by an Aussie and a Frenchie, is an outlier in the residential (but still near-ish the Eiffel Tower) 15th Arrondissement. Inside, it's all light-blonde wood, marble tabletops, and turquoise accents (a nod to the sea). The strong showing of coffee shop favorites—noisettes, capps, flat whites—draws a crowd of locals, thankful to no longer to have to travel east for their specialty coffee." - Lindsey Tramuta
"Okay, you’ve just walked in. First impressions? Even from the outside, you know you're in a much different kind of space in a much different neighborhood than most Parisian coffee shops. Lomi, one of the city's premier coffee roasters, occupies the ground floor of a modern building designed for social housing in a developing section of the eighteenth arrondissement. Inside, though, it's high-design exposed stone walls, reclaimed wood tables, and vintage chairs. Who else was there? The calming environment attracts young professionals or students at work. Since the training space and tasting room are on-site, you're likely to cross paths with coffee distributors and industry folk. The raison d’être : the coffee. How was it? All the usuals, from lattes to expertly pulled espresso, plus some wildcards like café fromage—double espresso served with blue cheese (nibble on the small piece, sip the espresso, and let it melt the cheese in your mouth; you'll be surprised how well they pair). Was there food, too, and if so, worth getting? Simple savory snacks and hearty sweets (croissants and scones in the morning, cookies and other treats in the afternoon). How about the staff: what did you think? The staff were focused and professional, not very chatty. Who should go here? If you're conducting a coffee crawl to see the city's major players, Lomi is a must." - Lindsey Tramuta

Inside, it's all light-blonde wood, marble tabletops, and turquoise accents that nod to the sea. Who else was there? It draws a crowd of locals—thankful to no longer to have to travel east for their specialty coffee—in addition to a mixed bag of tourists, families, students, and entrepreneurs. The raison d’être : the coffee. How was it? Nothing too adventurous here but a strong showing for coffee shop favorites: noisettes, capps, flat whites. Was there food, too, and if so, worth getting? The scones, banana bread, and elaborate pastries make this a breakfast standout. The new-ish lunch menu includes the usual soups and salads, but also poké bowls and BLTs on brioche buns. The menu may be common on the right bank but for left bankers, the mix with coffee is downright novel. How about the staff: what did you think? Thanks to the amiable, warm, and knowledgeable staff, this has become the go-to community coffee shop. Locals without a baseline for coffee culture are eager to learn from the seasoned baristas. Who should go here? The atmosphere is casual, better suited for caffeine breaks solo or among friends than for dress-to-impress client meetings." - Lindsey Tramuta
