We visited Porto this week and went for brunch twice at O Diplomata—a place recommended to us by ChatGPT. It was absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and despite being super busy, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The pancakes were amazing, and we loved the wide variety of toppings, ice cream, and extras they offered. We were so happy to return a second time, and when we told the staff that the recommendation came from ChatGPT, they were delighted and genuinely touched. A wonderful place we’ll definitely come back to!

Food was pretty good although the matcha special was a bit on the bitter side (I think because of the lime cream) but my friends loved theirs. Nice little breakfast/brunch spot with a variety of options and customisable pancakes! I would definitely stick to the pancakes rather than the savoury things if I were to come back.

This is a must visit brunch or breakfast spot on your trip. The pancakes were so incredible and I would have gone every morning I was in Portugal. Get the hot chocolate as it was so cute and delicious. I got the chocolate pancakes with the coffee cream topping and it was light as well as perfectly chocolate-y. The banana/ biscoff pancakes were rich and and are recommended to share with a side dish. The service was friendly as well and made the experience so much better

Amazing food 😍I love the idea to be able to choose everything - from the dough to the toppings. I really loved the food and the place until I went to the toilet and it was extremely dirty and the doors for the girls bathroom is broken so you can’t even close it. So then I started wondering how is it in the kitchen but I preferred to not think too much about it and focus on the food that really taste good, I would have gave 5 stars if the whole place/experience was amazing ! Ps: we went around 3pm so we didn’t queue at whole :) and the person who served us was really nice 👌

Pancakes were fresh but we should not have opted for the hot chocolate sauce, it felt too heavy (and cheap). Portuguese biscuit was a nice touch. They could have put more fruit pieces - there were way too few pieces for that price. Savoury pancakes were nice, but the oregano was not mentioned in the ingredients list and to be honest it was completely unnecessary. They also forgot we ordered them with maple syrup and when we asked they gave us a small pot. The smoothie bowl was nice, but way too runny. Their special coffees are more like desserts. Loose leaf tea is available, but the diffuser left a metallic taste. Friendly staff, but being a cash only place makes it hard for tourists nowadays. Was expecting a better overall experience to be honest.

If you are craving for pancakes 🥞 This is the best to visit. Enjoy making your own pancakes by choosing your favorite toppings. Highly recommended.

I recently visited O Diplomata and had an amazing experience. The pancakes were fluffy, golden brown, and delicious. The cozy, modern atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing meal. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. Overall, it was a delightful visit, and I’ll definitely be returning soon.

We went for brunch, for 2, without a previous reservation. The place is quite small so we had to wait for 30min. We ordered to share: - Rosti burger: I really really enjoyed it. It was juicy and really tasty - “make your own pancakes”: 2 pancakes, caramel sauce, whipped cream, strawberries and cookie “lotus”. They were nice although I would have liked to have the caramel sauce also between the pancakes and lot only on the top - Oreo shake: really good - Fried potato “peeling”: not crispy. Did not really enjoyed them We payed 24,50€. One thing that really annoys me is that you can only ou cash. Overall it was a nice experience and I would like to go back to try other dishes.

Yelp
The vegan pancakes were not good (avoid at all costs unless you like them chewy!), but I really enjoyed the açaí bowl (served with yogurt) and the soy chai latte.

Yelp
While visiting Porto, we ate here for breakfast one day. My sister is a big pancake fan so we came here. The foods here tasted quite healthier compared to the ones served in the US. We ordered to share: 1)a 4 layer make your own pancake with banana cream and tangerine ice cream, 2) latte, 3) acai bowl. The pancake was good but not the best we had (pancake was fluffy but taste wise was lacking, a bit on the dry side). The latte was good. The acai bowl was a bit disappointing as it was not that tasty and quite sour. Staff was very nice and friendly. English menu is available and there was no problem communicating with the staff.

Yelp
Had a nice brunch yesterday on the last day of our visit to Porto. We had to wait a little bit outside, but not too long thankfully (10 minutes, tops). We were seated with another couple at a round communal table which was fine by us. Only down side there was after the waiter took our orders, he brought a few things incorrectly to us that were meant for the other couple, but no big deal. We were all friendly. So I love this common brunch thing that seems to be popular in Porto where you order a 'combo' of sorts and get to pick the items you want. I picked a combination that included a hot drink, cold drink, smoothie bowl and 2 of the basic pancakes. I *think* the menu may have indicated a specific type of bowl, which I didn't realize, so I got 2 bowls by mistake (and not sure if they charged me, but they're really not expensive). So anyway I had an Americano coffee, cold white fruit tea, a strawberry smoothie bowl (a bit too banana-y for me, but still good), tried a few bites of the acai bowl it was supposed to come with (which actually tasted better than the strawberry one anyway), and the fluffy pancakes with additional strawberry compote (which I paid an extra 50 cents for as toppings don't come with the combo meal). I was very happy with the size of this brunch and loved all the flavors. They also have a very cool pancake page by itself where you can make your own (pancake, filling, topping, ice cream! crunchies!) which would be very cool for another brunch or dessert. Huge menu overall. Very cute and tasty spot for a nice brunch. I think my meal total was under $10.

Yelp
The staff wasn't necessarily the friendliest and the pancakes were just okay. They took a long time to take my order and there were at least 4 tables also waiting to have their order taken. I got a blueberry pancake with nutella and strawberries. The pancake was dense and not super light and fluffy. They do give you a lot of strawberries which is fantastic. My warning is make sure you specify if you want 2 or 4 pancakes because they will default to 4. I thought two was a lot and wished I had someone to share it with.

Yelp
Yum! The line was super long but the panini made it worth the wait. The chicken panini was well seasoned and delicious. I enjoyed the dragonfruit purée for the pancakes- I hadn't eaten something like that before but the flavor isn't as strong as I thought it would be. The pancakes aren't particularly fluffy sadly, they have more of an egg based, flat texture. (The pancakes at Zenith are much fluffier if you're into that). Nevertheless, I enjoyed the pancakes but wish they came with syrup as the purée wasn't too sweet. The fruit was super fresh though! The smoothie bowl I would skip if offered the chance again- it's kinda lukewarm. I don't know if it's because I'm American but I expected it to have blended ice in it, like a chilled, cold smoothie bowl. It felt like drinking a smoothie soup lol. I enjoyed O Diplomata though, the staff were incredibly friendly!

Yelp
We went to O Diplomata because the place across the street didn't even acknowledge us for over 10 minutes. Unlike that unmentionable place, the server came over right away and we ordered our drink and meal (2 Brunch #1 for 6 euros). There were a few occupied tables and we could see they were waiting for their food as well. This is one of those tiny place where the server is also fixing the plates. We waited (legitimately) for 45 minutes before we had anything to eat or drink. We asked for our juice of the day and we got it with our food. I don't understand why it took so long. The food was ok, I guess. The pancakes were sweet. We paid and left. It was really irritating to have to wait that long for food that can be prepared in less than 15 minutes. What give, O Diplomata?! I don't think I'd return.

Yelp
This place was AMAZING! The food was so good, and the server working was the sweetest person ever! He deserves a raise. There was a line when we got there, but we only waited about 20 minutes. They also gave us little pancakes while we were waiting in line.

Yelp
I read some good things but unfortunately it did not pan out. The food arrived at all different times. We have one vegetarian and try as we might we could not get the waiter to understand no meat. But this was listed at vegan friendly. The food size amount is not enough to fill you up. And if you want maple syrup then be prepared to wait even longer to get a small serving of syrup. The salty pancakes are dry and very very plain. The bacon was an overcooked and not of good quality. Overall I would try a different place for breakfast.

Stopped in for breakfast and in love. Build your own pancakes with an arms length of delicious options. Yum yum yum. Oreo cappuccino was a nice add on to the happy palate!!

Yelp
Super cute pancakes place, I would definitely go back. The oat pancakes were surprisingly tasty and substantial! Would recommend getting hot chocolate topping on your pancakes :) friendly, quick service. And awesome music! Enjoyed our brunch here.
